Lacey Karmens vs Riley Ishimori
Paul Heyman hasn’t been shy throwing his money around, and in the past year, Mayhem’s roster has seemingly doubled. Paired with a diverse roster overflowing with stars, MPW’s present and future is set, and that was more present tonight than ever. Ziggy Haim’s valiant effort in her battle with Sister Abigail. Dyln Blaine fought tooth and nail with Tom Lawlor. Sardonyx’s streak lived another week. Atticus Cogar and Joshua Bishop will be going to war next. And, as rare as it is these days, two MPW originals in VIOLET and Pandemonium, first time ever, put on a show, with Pandemonium staking her claim to the Stardust Championship. The dream match sitting before us was another rare, never before seen clash between two people who have been with MPW since day one. Lacey Karmens, Riley Ishimori; two of the brightest young stars in MPW, it’s surprising they’ve yet to share the ring together, in either MPW or elsewhere. But finally, they get a chance to change all of that tonight.
Riley sits up on the top rope, sliding down there as she’d made her entrance, and stares at Lacey, whose eyes have been glued to Riley since her music hit. The bell rings as Riley hops down, but that’s the only motion either makes for a moment before they begin to move, sizing each other up, studying, before locking into a battle for control. Riley eventually finds a front facelock, but Lacey rolls out into a chinlock. Riley fights back into a hammerlock, rolling onto Lacey’s back before she sinks into a side headlock. Lacey fights their way out of it, getting Riley in a waistlock. Riley picks the arm to get out of it, capturing another front facelock, bringing Lacey to their feet so Riley can cinch in a side headlock. Right hands to the gut soften her up, Lacey bringing them to the ropes and shoving off, but Riley holds on! They slide to their knees, keeping the headlock cinched in tight, until Lacey hammers at her sides. Breaking free, Lacey gets a snapmare, before landing a HARD penalty kick to the spine! Lacey landed several more to the back before they ran the ropes, connecting with another to the front! Lacey drops down for the cover!
1… 2… Kickout!
Back on their feet, Riley reverses a whip, and lands a rocket kick on the rebound! Lacey takes the kick to the jaw, and Riley stomps on them for good measure. Lacey crawls into the corner, and Riley stomps on them some more, hanging onto the ropes and picking her entire body up as she drives double stomps onto Lacey’s upper body, driving her into the turnbuckle, before Riley stills herself to choke Lacey out with both feet. She then lifts herself up, and hits them with pendulum double knees to the face! Riley marches off, San Jose showering her with boos as she retrieves Lacey, and stumbles them with several hard forearms, shoving them back into the corner. Riley charges, flattening them with a dropkick, before running across the ring, bouncing off those turnbuckles, and charging at Lacey for a second running dropkick! Riley grabs their wrist and whips them across the ring, following suit, but Lacey lifts themselves onto the middle rope! Riley walks into a trap, and eats a missile dropkick! Riley’s sent rolling back, and Lacey calls on the crowd to continue cheering them on, as Lacey lays into Riley with a series of hard hitting forearms that all go unanswered until Lacey snaps, pinning Riley on the ropes and unloading on her! Riley’s defenseless as Lacey lays into her, before Lacey runs the ropes - but they’re followed! Riley slips underneath and takes Lacey’s out from under them! Riley slingshots back in with a double stomp to the middle of their spine!
Riley kneels as she looks over the crowd, the fans showering her in boos, smirking wide. She looks over to see Lacey crawling up on the ropes, and Riley thinks about a tiger feint kick, but gets caught by a drop toe hold! Lacey suckered her in, and lands a kick to the base of Riley’s skull! That was an absolutely brutal shot! Riley might be out of it after that one, and Lacey wants to make sure of it as they follow their opponent out to the apron. Lacey sets up for a powerbomb on the apron - but at the last second, Riley turns it into a DDT! They’re spiked on the apron, landing on the crown of their head! That could be it for Lacey, again! This match is still so new, but these two are pulling out all the stops already, but this is only the beginning. As Lacey melts off the apron and to the floor, Riley’s already priming for her next big move, watching as they slowly pick themselves up Riley climbs to the top rope. And she leaps off, crushing Lacey with a moonsault to the venue floor! High risk gets high reward, and Riley’s feeling it as she sits on the apron. Her palms pressed together as they rose high into the air, before she brought them down, tucking them under her chin, meaning it’s bedtime for Lacey Karmens.
Sliding her back into the ring, Riley posts out on the apron, before springboarding in, and nailing Lacey with a springboard forearm! One could call that a phenomenal one, at that, and Riley keeps the ball rolling as she yanks Lacey to their feet. Trapping Lacey in a half nelson, they’re lifted up, and slammed back down with a facebuster, Riley rolling them over for the cover!
1… 2… Kickout!
Riley steps on Lacey’s stomach as she makes her way back to the corner, wanting to go high risk again, but she went to the well one too many times, and Lacey makes her pay as they meet her up there. Lacey hammering down on Riley with forearms and elbows until Lacey’s in a comfortable position to hook Riley in for a Superplex, and bring them crashing and burning to the mat! They both suffer a hard landing, as it takes a great deal of Lacey’s strength to deliver the move, but it pays off, as Lacey’s able to get to their feet first. They try to get Riley into the Black Widow, but Riley blocks it, only to take a kick to the jaw! But Riley comes back with a penalty kick that has Lacey stumbling to the ropes, holding their chest. They get back in Riley’s space, nearly leveling her with a forearm, but Riley stays upright to deliver another penalty kick. Lacey and Riley teeing off on each other, forearm for kick, until Lacey catches a kick and uses it to pull Riley in, and drive her into the mat with a powerbomb! Lacey with the sitout!
1… 2… Kickout!
Lacey heads to the top rope, quickly finding their way and planting their feet, before they leap off, taking Riley down with a hurricanrana, and tucking them in for the cover!
1… 2… Kickout!
Out at two, and Lacey looks a bit frustrated, wanting to put this one to bed with the Black Widow, but Riley counters out of it, and brings Lacey down into a Crossface! At least, she tries to, but they’re able to roll out, somersaulting away, until Riley grabs their wrist and pulls them back in, cracking their jaw with a STIFF knee strike! Lacey’s eyes looked like they rolled to the back of their head, as Riley fell face first onto the mat! This match has taken their all so far, and we’re nowhere near a clear victor just yet!
Slowly, Riley rises as Lacey’s only rolled to their side. Riley picks them up by the waist, looking for a suplex, but Lacey squirms their way out of it, catching Riley with a knee to the gut. Riley falls back to the ropes, leaning on them, before Lacey tries to take her head off with a high kick. Ducking under it, Riley runs the ropes, only to EAT a roundhouse kick! Riley crumbles to her knees, before falling to the mat, as Lacey might’ve just delivered the killing blow! Lacey drops into the cover, this could be it!
1…. 2… Kickout!
Another two, but Lacey can taste the win on the tip of their tongue. They’re so close now, and could have the winning move in the bag as they go for a Dragon suplex, but before they can get the other arm trapped, Riley fires back with a hard elbow, sending Lacey halfway across the ring. Riley drops to her knees, and Lacey charges, going for her bicycle knee strike - but Riley sidesteps! Lacey bounces off the ropes and into Riley’s arms, where they’re dumped by a German suplex! But Riley holds on! She brings Lacey back up with her, now trapped in a straight jacket as they’re lifted off their feet, and dumped with a second suplex, Riley bridging for this one!
1… 2… Kickout!
The ref’s hand nearly touched for a third time, but alas, it was not meant to be yet, and Riley punches the mat before she goes up to the top rope. Climbing up, Riley takes a few moments longer than she’d like to get up there, but looks for something big, flying off with a corkscrew shooting star press - but nobody’s home! Lacey rolled out of the way! Riley hits the mat hard, and Lacey charges, plowing through her with a bicycle knee strike! Riley’s out cold, and Lacey falls right into the pin!
1… 2… 3!
“Here is your winner, Lacey Karmens!”
