It's really interesting to me how apparently, if you flirt with Halsin at the party and don't then, like... dismiss it the next morning or tell him to forget it (my boy is, uh. not shy. about what he wants), his camp comments seem to change? Like I've asked how he's faring like five times now, in the Underdark and the Mountain Pass, and each time he's just said "With such stimulating company? Never better.", which is... different. I don't remember hearing that quite like that before, and I think I'm missing a line there.

I think usually, he'd have a short comment about how the Grove was too comfortable, how he was feeling a bit distant from nature in such surroundings, and how he likes sleeping under the stars again. I think. But this game, I don't recall hearing anything like that- asking how he's doing outside of the plot conversation, I don't really recall anything other than that easy, flirty compliment and reassurance.

I could be wrong or misremembering previous runs, and this could be because of something else, but I... really kind of enjoy imagining that if he knows you're at least physically attracted to him (like he clearly is to you), even if you're very obviously pursuing- or already have a romantic relationship going on with someone else (and he doesn't yet know if you'd be alright with a more open arrangement), he just... doesn't want to trouble you.

If he can convince himself that there is no future to these budding, one-sided feelings, he can be a bit more open and friendly- but if there's no denying the heat in your eyes and the concern in your voice, he... can't help but want to impress you. If he can't convince himself that there's nothing there to it, he just... can't help puffing out his chest just a tiny bit. Can't help wanting to come off as an approachable, gracious, warm presence, and not share too much about things he might think of as his personal weaknesses and insecurities; his less than perfectly cordial, happy thoughts.

Like he's... denying himself the idea of a relationship with you and feels that he must focus on the Curse, sure, but also can't bring himself not to at least try and present himself in the "best" light he can.

I really like this kind of yearning. Yearning is good. Make that man yearn. Make him earn his PhD in yearnology.

The first time Vox said, "I love you," to Valentino, it went horribly wrong, because Val laughed and made a joke about how often he's heard that as a sex worker (especially now that he's in Hell and has become a walking talking aphrodisiac that Vox was currently high on). Vox is now so self conscious about his feelings and has never voiced them that way since. In Val's mind, he told Vox to only say that if he means it, but Vox hasn't told Val he loves him ever again, so Val certainly isn't going to be the one to say it first.

Well why do you draw your zhongli so 'chubby' I don't have anything against it and actually really like your drawing style but it just makes me curious because your the only person that I know that draws him like that

you can say fat its ok lol. but anyways the main reasons was because I thought it wasn't very fitting for someone who represents geo, rock, earth etc to be as thin as a pole and it started when i wanted to make the future hc I have and the thought of a fat old happy zhongli who can actually enjoy retirement and life without the looming of celestia was just really fun ^_^ and last reason was uhh why not!

i think it suits him and its fun to draw different body types and not that i do it for the validation or satisfaction of others but hearing people also enjoying how I choose to draw him because they get to see a body type like theirs is very heartwarming

¹ idk if anyones seen my different zhongli's where its youngest to oldest art but its also just to celebrate aging. people are just so scared of aging these days. people are scared of getting wrinkles and gray hairs and weight changes as they get older but i am enjoying it through zhongli.

I'm not the only person to ever draw fat zhongli, I have art mutuals who do it or have done it but because I draw it consistently and its most of my art atp I'd assume it's much more noticeable.

HI HELLO I'M BACK-- i finished my h/c list ages ago but then brainrot took over and i was caught between mini fic writing and schoolwork lmfao. anyway, zhongli's my precious lil mans and i must SCREAM abt him for a moment thank u.

current list: - FLUENT in the art of yapping. could weave a story abt a blade of grass, and y'all know bitches are listening. - i feel like most ppl are kinda intimidated by him. like regular average ppl look at him and are shaken by this sort of regal air he's got around him. - straightforward! he doesn't beat around the bush when he's got a point or needs something. this kinda thing also makes ppl more intimidated of him bc he's just very confident abt it. - WARM HANDS,,, - he gives me the vibes of a fidgeter. like he spins his rings on his thumbs, and will fiddle with the sleeves of his coat. like it's just a habit he picked up, and now he can't help but do it when his mind is wandering. - ON THE TOPIC OF FIDGETING: Guizhong's puzzle box. Zhongli's usually pretty good abt figuring things out when he's confronted w/ something confounding/confusing, but when he can't figure it out or it's a very hard thing to work through, i am CONVINCED that he fiddles with Guizhong's puzzle box. like it's sort of like him trying to solve her final question helps him solve the current Difficult Question he's faced with. absolutely probably fiddled w/ it when he was deciding what to do abt retirement. - this man LOVES antiques and art/music (he likes a lot of things tbh) and he will do anything to talk abt them. like he's probably one of the best antique appraisers, and has stories abt specific antiques he's seen before. as for opera and music and art, he just really appreciates their creativity! also sorry he would absolutely indulge in the art of calligraphy. - he hoards rocks. listen, he hoards them. he loves rocks, and when he finds a Perfect Rock, he just yoinks it (Perfect Rocks are hard to come by yk!!!). - he's usually very sweet and nice, and has a good attitude, but i'm PRETTY sure he's got a bit of pride to him yk. - listen,,, he was in a really long war and lost a lot of ppl he cared abt in the Archon War, and i'm like pretty sure he's got battle anxiety now bc of it. like he would MUCH prefer talking things out, but if push comes to shove he will still fight; he just tends to push himself to the front so that less people get hurt. he just REALLY wants to protect people, which makes him a little self-sacrificial (he's usually fine). he's also fucking PROTECTIVE as FUCK. - Zhongli has gold blood. not red blood, gold; i think this makes him more nervous around red blood bc it means to him that someone is hurt and he wasn't able to protect them. it's equated with Really Bad Things. - back to sad things, i'm 90% sure he's afraid of forgetting things due to erosion. he's always had a good memory, so the idea that he might one day have his memories eroded is one of his greatest fears. - i feel like all of his worries and concerns have turned him from a stern War God to a very gentle mans that will make u soup when ur sick. - Zhongli and Venti are the best of friends and he would deck that guy so hard if someone asked him to. Literally besties for the resties, they hate each other but someone fucks with one of em, the other's got his back. - Zhongli talks pretty, so ya know he's got That Sass that hits different. Like it's out of left field, and it probably doesn't register as a slight at first. sometimes it takes u a good hour before u realize he wasn't complimenting u and instead was calling u an idiot. - the definition of "curiosity killed the cat, satisfaction brought it back". literally exudes pure curiosity when he sees something he hasn't seen before. - he adores little gifts,,, like these small gestures would Never Be Noticed by anyone, except him, and he just thinks it's so fuckin sweet. - secretly a prankster. you Would Not Expect It from him, but that's what makes it so perfect. he's the PATIENT type of prankster, too; the one who moves the flower vase a cenimeter to the left every day over the course of a month type of patient.

I can relate to your character-hate fatigue with Mohg. My favorite character is an unconventionally attractive villain. (You can be a villain in fandom, but you have to be "hot." Unforgivable if not.) So much of what I see him being used for in AO3 fics is someone's shortcut villain, and completely glossing over his complexities while doing so. Like completely OOC just so they could have a villain for their story. Which is fine for them, but sucks for me.

100% this. if mohg was some garden-variety pretty boy or otherwise conventionally attractive, he would be hugely popular and his thing with miquella would be seen as romantic instead of gross and weird. obviously people are allowed to like and dislike any characters, but i'm tired of pretending like conventionally unattractive characters aren't treated significantly more poorly by fandoms and that people are absolutely 100% drawn to conventionally attractive characters. like people can claim that it's not the characters' looks that they care about, but once you start liking "ugly" characters you start seeing just how more popular good-looking characters are and just how different people's attitudes are towards characters they're not attracted to.

that being said i think i'm just a fucking moron when it comes to mohg, seeing depth and room for nuance where there probably wasn't intended to be any. he probably was intended to be just a one-dimensionally evil villain and i'm stupid for expecting people to think about him more deeply than that. but this is fandom, people aren't limited by what's in canon, and their willingness to explore and give nuanced interpretations and justifications to some characters but not mohg is just. endlessly frustrating. like i said, selfishly i'd rather people not include him at all in their fics if all they're gonna do with him is go "he's bad and has always been bad because that's just the way he was born, there is no nuance or depth to him and if you like him, fuck you"
