Remus discovered his sexuality by spending a lovely summer with a wonderful openly queer boy who quickly became one of his best friends, his confidant and his life-time support afterwards, not to mention his lover for most of his life.

Meanwhile, in the exact same summer, Sirius got his sexuality brutally torn from the deepest pits of his own mind by his abusive, homophobic mother before he could even realize it fully, then got beaten senseless for it and hurt by his own family to the point of almost bleeding out.

one thing about the marauders fandom i will NEVER understand is the hatred of peter pettigrew. like wdym you can so easily forgive/give a redemption arc to barty, evan, and regulus (i love them all don’t get it twisted), all part of a literal terrorist organization, but cannot fathom the possibility that peter can have the same? obviously what he did is super wrong, but it’s contradictory to love characters who are death eaters but refuse to give peter a chance solely because he made a very bad mistake while being threatened to be killed.

I've said this before and it's a hill I'll die on: Stop blaming ATYD for the "hyper-masculine casanova" characterisation of Remus Lupin.

In ATYD he's anything but a big, buff, aggressive popular kid. He's a loser, and that's quite literally the point. Not only that, but he's such a self-deprecating character that you can't trust a word from his perspective. Obviously his thought processes present him as a shitty person, it's because he thinks he's a shitty person. There are mountains of evidence that prove Remus is a good character (and INSANELY well written) in atyd, and I'll go into it more when it isn't 3 in the morning.
