Happy Little Accidents

The last thing Eddie Diaz expects to come out of his trip to Buckley’s Plant Nursery & Landscaping with his son, is to develop an honest to god schoolgirl crush on the guy who owns the place (and not notice that that is what’s happening for an embarrassingly long time).  

The plan is simple. Get in, have Christopher pick out a couple of succulents or whatever he needs for his school project, and get out without infesting any of the gorgeous plants in the shop with his bad plant karma. 

But then, the first thing he’s greeted with is a hunk of a man, carrying two heavy packs of soil on his broad shoulders. Eddie swears he can see a drop of sweat running down the man’s face in slow motion. His t-shirt looks like it’s one strategic muscle flex away from bursting at the seams and Eddie—Eddie feels nervous all of the sudden. And he’s gaping like a fish. 

“Hey,” Hunk-man says as he hoists the soil on the counter next to him with a grunt, “What can I help you with?”

At least Eddie has enough self-awareness to close his mouth.

Or: the one where Buck owns a plant nursery and Eddie stumbles through his crush (and has no game during all of it)—oh and also, there are a lot of Bob Ross references.

Ok back on my bullshit if creating needless crossover au ideas:

God of War Ragnarok and Detroit: Become Human, but it’s just Týr finding himself being swept into the android revolution on his travels through America.

I like the idea that Týr is a traveler- he often disguises himself as a homeless man on said travels. Helps keep his status of godhood secret, though one winter while bunking out in an abandoned church who should come knocking on his door but the remnants of Jericho and her peoples leaders?

Obviously I’d think he’d be following their story on a radio he stole and patched up, keeping an ear to the wind about deviants and those who pass through in the alleyways. Small blessing from him to struggling androids trying to reach Jericho even though Týr himself doesn’t know where she sits specifically. The Jericho Four obviously don’t take kindly to finding a human in the church but, HC again, I like the idea of the deviant androids working with some of the homeless to get spare parts and thirium in exchange for stuff like clothing and food.

So Markus and Simon break the argument ‘Our people are cold, injured and waterlogged. We need this space for the night.’ Týr, still disguised as a homeless dude, stays hidden in one of the churches back rooms. Watching Jericho’s people silently; in pride of them taking matters into their own hands. Seeking justice in their own ways of stealing and protests and riots when words don’t work.

‘Humans are fickle beings. Seeking to wield power in swaths and failing to heed any consequences when they come knocking at their door. Creating life and failing dog to recognize its own intelligence; the failure of a parent to their child.’

Obviously this is just a small bump to Týr and his travels. He knows the people will make it through this winter, he’d thought Fimbulwinter would be the end and yet here he stood. In the shadow of new budding leaders and their cause for recognition he’ll leave once they do.

A mangy dog tailing their protest and watching from afar at the barricade they will build and the last stand they make as song breaks out over the tense silence. He knows they will be ok.

Anyways, kinda dumb but I’m making a SW AU that takes place a few years before the Clone Wars. I’m doing the dirty and making everyone meet and being allies and such. This is just filling in gaps. One of my weaknesses in projecting is I really like fantasy role playing stuff and I’m trying to incorporate things like that into the SW universe but also keeping to lore as best I can. This AU is more of a slice of life/shoujo/shounen/fantasy adventure campaign.

• Grievous and Jango work for the IBC (intergalactic banking clan) to pay off their debt. They do things from rescue missions to bounties, escorts, and dealing with their own slice of life. (The “debt duo”).

• Jango is an esteemed bounty hunter but paying off debts of Mandalore owed to the IBC. He is aloof but a caring man. He has a soft spot for children and hopes to become a father one day.

• Grievous is a renowned warlord but is paying off his planet’s debts to the IBC as well as looking for his long lost mate, Ronderu who mysteriously vanished during a Huk invasion.

•Darth Plagueis is now Sith Lord after being given the title from the previous Sith Lord whom renounced her faith and is on the run. The Sith operate from a Church on a planet in Wild Space due to the Galactic Republic outlawing/banning their research on dark magic (summoning, rituals, etc). Plagueis is obsessed with magic and science and is trying to find ways to use Midi-Chlorians to further his own powers by accessing dark magic that hasn’t been seen for thousands of years. I kinda wanted the prior Sith Lord (cat lady) to have an affair with Plagueis, which is one of the reasons why she’s on the run:

1) She realized she wants a “career change”, perhaps to become a mother? she knows her apprentice/ex lover, Plagueis wants her dead but due to her renouncing her faith, she believes she no longer has to abide by Sith rules. It is unknown why she won’t kill him. Perhaps her ethics changed or she needs to conserve energy due to trying to conceive/ has conceived, still has feelings for him, possibly manipulating him, etc (still wip lol).

2) Her beliefs in the Sith are different than Plagueis, rule of 2 = life and death, good and evil**, love and hate, weakness and power, parent and child, yin and yang, Fire and Water; she believes the Force is the balance between good and evil**, the grey between two extremes and everyone has a place within the universe such as herself being on the extreme (Sith vs Jedi). She is driven by passion and striving to be the best (including protecting and getting revenge for those who wronged her and loved ones). I wanted her beliefs to challenge many struggles we see in current religion such as “cherry picking” but also following one’s heart, beliefs and values.

I had “Rudo” (Thrawn) in mind. A spy who happens to partner up with Jango and Grievous on occasion for random missions and quests. Rudo is a spy for the Chiss Ascendancy and goes by a different name to keep his identity hidden.

Maul is struggling with wanting to be his own person but coming to terms with his destiny, chosen by adoptive father Sheev Palpatine. Early on, Maul showed powerful magic ability such as communicating with animals and harnessing the powers of nature (Sith magic) such as fire, earth, water, metals, etc. In other words he has shaman/druid abilities (similar to Ezra from Rebels). Maul is an innocent but honest and hardworking kid. He loves animals and wants to make friends. Prior to the romantic scandal (cat lady x Plagueis), the cat lady then Sith Lord, saw Maul as a son and was enamored by his love and connection with nature and the wild life - this led her to believe that Maul had the heart of a true Sith and was the catalyst to his downfall by having him train as Sheev’s apprentice rather than stay an acolyte/“alter boy”.

Adjacent idea to @dire-kumori's Paradoxical Reaper AU (because that au always gives me ideas lol) where it doesn't paradox properly. Reaper Mike kills his younger self a year or so before what would have been the Bite, and he stays dead. He's just a lil ghostie.

There's so many directions it could go from here depending on various timeline shenanigans. If this is after Elizabeth dies, maybe the two aren't stuck posessing anything in particular and they follow Evan around as he becomes the one to try and right William's wrongs. Or maybe it has wider effects on the timeline: do both of the other Afton kids still die, and maybe they have the chance to be kind of happy as a lil ghost crew? Or maybe they haunt tf out of William until they drive him off the deep end? Maybe neither of the other Afton kids die, and the other two go on to lead mostly normal lives despite the creeping feeling that something is wrong with the universe they live in, because the narrative has broken entirely?

My desire for the Afton kids to be happy and my deep-seated instinct to torture Mike are fighting lmao
