phoenix, did you draw a whole ass cowboy au and not draw a single cowboy hat? yes. yes i did. it’s not my fault the ganados took leon’s hat, ok?

the vague idea is that leon is under the impression that luis is a snake oil salesman. which isn’t an entirely wrong impression to have, but luis’s reasons, as ever, are a little more complicated. you get into debt with some bad people and they ask you to spread some weird tonics around and then bad things happen and you run away and start a new life somewhere, okay? and then maybe somewhere ends up under the influence of a cult! time is a circle. it’s fine. it’s whatever.

I had a lot of fun working on it and was so very excited to *finally* explain what happened with Fictional!Matty and the mare and also the whole extent of his Tragic Backstory™️ It's also been really fun to stick with Fictional!George's POV this entire fic instead of switching around like I usually do - we only see Fictional!Matty from Fictional!George's POV and well, Fictional!George isn't the most reliable narrator. I did have a brief worry that this chapter was a bit *much* it kind of wrote itself and I'm just so happy to hear you enjoyed it! au where Jonny, drunk, got in his feelings at some point about the events of high noon over camelot and decided to try to time travel and stop it by killing Mordred when he almost died as a child, only to discover there was no Saxon raiding party, deal with it Badly, and leave a bunch of half-eaten corpses for Gawain to find and an alive baby Mordred to get rescued by a Saxon passerby
