*gently lowers this into the Joseph Quinn fandom like a bucket of seal meat into shark-infested waters (affectionate)*
Hadn’t noticed (granted I am only so far into said fandom because I am trying to just like Joseph Quinn a Normal Amount) anyone mentioning the one time Joseph Quinn gets to be properly happy at the end of a period drama, so here’s the audioplay of Middlemarch in which he plays Will Ladislaw.
Highlights include: His breathy chuckles, the way you can feel his jaw clenched as he says some lines, the YEARNING, “I come from rebellious stock”, and “Explain my preference! I never had a preference for her any more than I had a preference for breathing! No other woman exists next to her!” and other thoroughly lovely bits and pieces.
Note: This is an audioplay so 1. no visual, obviously but 2. Joseph isn’t in every episode as Middlemarch is a large ensemble piece. There’s a character list under each episode if you wish to just listen to his episodes you can do that easily, but the whole thing is an excellent story and brilliantly acted by all, so I recommend just sitting back a few hours and listening to the whole thing.

The Slayers audioplay — I will call it OOC if Cordelia Chase, as the Slayer, is shown that she gets paid.
But also, they need to show what makes Cordy different.
What made Buffy different are Willow and Xander helping her in the fight and research.
I don’t see Harmony or Aurora jumping in to help Cordelia. If I do listen to the Slayers, I need them to consider what makes Cordelia unique or similar to other Slayers.
Because Buffy broke barriers for a reason.
Also, make no mistake, I love Cordelia but why couldn’t they explore Kendra as a Slayer?
And why is Spike there?
I’m so tired of Spike.
Buffering Podcast being so into Spike over Buffy gave me livejournal war flashbacks its part of the reason I stopped watching.

I absolutely loved the audio drama The Guilty by James Patterson. The setting is a play in progress by famed playwright Osmond Box who is known for his engaging and suspenseful mysteries. The characters each had a simple storyline to begin with but as the story continues they become interwoven and complex. It’s hard to know what is part of the play and what is the play writer himself losing his grip in life.
Two investigators interview all of the guests at the theater while trying to determine the killer, where they are and why they did it.
The mystery was so fun to try and unravel. I was kept guessing the whole time, and the acting was so great that it really brought the story to life. I highly recommend this audio drama for anyone looking for an exciting, suspenseful journey.

Jump Leads launches at 8am pacific tomorrow!
The series is six episodes of science-fiction comedy. It's Doctor Who meets Red Dwarf by way of Sliders, and I am insanely proud of it.
Jump Leads follows two trainees in the Lead Service - a sort-of self-appointed reality police - as they travel to parallel universes on their earliest field training exercises. Chaperoned by the eccentric but charming Captain Lucas, they soon learn that there's more to travelling to parallel worlds than their training textbooks might have covered.
The show features an amazing cast, including Austin Lee Matthews (Final Fantasy VII Remake, Pokémon Revolution, Megaton Girl) and Dino Andrade (Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Bidoof's Big Stand) as well as guest appearances from Connor Andrade (We Baby Bears, Shenmue III, Spider-Man), Lemar Harris (who recently appeared as the DM in Rhett & Link's "We Hired an Exorcist to Play D&D!"), and Will Overgard (Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed).
It also features:
Six (mostly) standalone stories, one of which is entirely about character development take that prestige television!
Two diametrically-opposed characters stuck together through circumstance!
Queer lead characters!
At least two different types of robot!
Two mid-credits scenes that are just for jokes and don't serve to set up spin-offs of some kind!
Theme music by Professor Shyguy!
A subtle, hidden reference to the seminal 1991 cinematic platform action-adventure game Another World!
Captioned versions on YouTube!
I've said this a billion times, but I am so, so proud of how this show came out and I really, really hope you listen to and enjoy it a lot. You can find the show in your podcasting app, or by selecting one of these handy-dandy links:

I FOUND ANOTHER AOT AUDIOPLAY SERIES
This one's called Attack on Heroes - Resurgence! I haven't watched it yet, but it looks really interesting! And I think this is the most recently active audioplay, because their blog @attackonheroes-resurgence last posted in 2021!
Unfortunately, production for this project has been discontinued for season 2. sad :(
I really wish that there were more AOT audioplays, seriously
god i miss the 2010s age of aot

After watching and loving the 1933 Lubitsch film Design For Living, I decided I wanted to read the play it was based on. Luckily for me, Scribd actually had the LA Theater Works audioplay recording available so I gave that a go. Before listening to it, I had read that very little of the film had been taken directly from the play, so I knew to expect something different, but these were very different. The core concept of a woman torn between two men and the men torn between each other and the woman is essentially the same, but most else has been changed. The movie includes all of the background story for about the first half or more that isn't in the play at all. It means that the play and movie each offer completely different experiences. I'll be honest, I preferred the movie. It was funny, charming, and the actors really carried their roles well. It feels quite queer and poly to me, and the Lubitsch touch really brings the whole thing together. The play made the characters feel immature in a way that was hard to connect with, and while the actors gave good performances in the audio it just didn't hit the same way for me. Also, while it does feel queer (the two men love each other very much), it doesn't feel like it's poly the way the movie is. The play had laughs, but not as many as I had hoped for. I didn't dislike it, but it didn't land as well as the movie for me (which I kind of loved). Regardless, the play is worth a read/watch/listen (and the LA Theater Works recording is quite good), but the Lubitsch film is where my heart is and is the one I would more wholeheartedly recommend. #plays #audioplays #audiobook #audioplay #reading #readingplays #books #booksofinstagram #bookstagram #booksofinsta #movies #films #filmposting #movieposting #classicliterature #classicplays #classicmovies https://www.instagram.com/p/CgC7HEPgwtv/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
