We often call the writings of EGW the Spirit of Prophecy, and I believe this is correct. However, did you know that in referring to Simeon in the Temple, she referred to him having the Spirit of Prophecy? . The term is not unique to just her. It also includes the writings of the Bible. I’ve seen some try to throw out her writings or even just demote them because she’s a sinner. . Another Audioverse Nominee! Let's talk about 2022 Tribeca Film Festival selected podcast, Modes of Thought in Anterran Literature from @wlfdr . Modes of Thought in Anterran Literature is a spec-fic, Classical Lit (tbh more like anthro or history to me) podcast presented partly as a University class. We follow Professor (?) as he teaches a possibly questionable class on the literature of a heretofore unknown society, the Anterrans. A society that dates back to 84,000 BCE--massively well before any other known civilization. The ruins of Anterra lie deep in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, or so say the ultra-secretive (and let's be honest, sometimes scientifically dodgy) Chinese scientists who are working the dive site. But with almost no publications online or in the news, how does the professor even *know* about Anterra or its wall-carved literature, let alone have enough info to teach Classics C667?? He appears to possibly have some Chinese contacts, but is this true, or an elaborate hoax from a slightly unlikeable man who wants to make a name for himself, or is maybe slowly going insane? Is this enough to stake his reputation on, enough to risk his position at Harbridge University? He thinks so, and we'll just have to wait and see. Modes is a unique plot in podcasting, so far as I can tell. Which is always fun and refreshing! 9, 15 minute episodes so far, and Season 2 just started up--episodes every two weeks. It should be a quick catch up! So, if you like academia with an air of mystery, spies and secretive governments, and/or unreliable narrators, then Modes of Thought in Anterran Literature is for you!

DOUBLE ANNOUNCEMENT: Delay on Episode 17 and AVA Voting

Happy new week, Strangers! We hope you’ve had a lovely weekend — we have a few announcements regarding Syntax to start off with!

Number one, it is with heavy hearts that we announce our first delay in production. Due to some crazy happenstance in our editor’s life, we haven’t been able to produce fully — this means there will be a delay on Episode 17’s release. We will be releasing Episode 17 next week, on the 20th. Once again, there will be NO new episode this week, but next Thursday! We are so sorry for this, again!

In better news, we will NOT be delaying Episode 18! The finale should still, god-willing, be premiering on October 27th! And we are SO excited to show you our plans!

Let's talk about 2022 Audioverse honorable mention, Jupiter Saloon @jupiter_saloon . Jupiter Saloon is a science fiction comedy set in an "intergalactic truck-stop dive bar". Joe, the bartender has been working solo for too long. He just wants to hire someone reliable so he can take a day off every now and again. Is that so much to ask?! The answer, of course, is apparently yes, because here he is, interviewing everything from questionable regulars to even sketcher strangers..."I love customers so much! Hee hee, they're just like *packed* with nutrients..." Ohh my. It's hard to find good help, even in space. The other issue with the bar is that some folks pay their tab with stories, instead of credits, "which is a cool narrative device, but not great when it comes to paying the rent." Yes, Joe just needs some help, esp. on Kareoke night. Besides! He just got backstage passes to the Phase Queen concert! Hey, at least the Space Chimps Poker room seems self-sufficient, so long as you leave door closed and keep the beers and cigarettes coming. New in 2022, it's got 4, 20 minute episodes, chocked full of stories.
