The once white shirt under his vest is now all red. Everything's sticky, a mixture of dry and wet blood coating Lee's skin from the side of his neck and down his upper chest.
It stings, more than it hurts. He would have liked it to hurt.
Infiltrating the party again, Lee had dragged Audra away and into a suite with a city view. Shock rock plays over the room speakers. Lee mindlessly sings along, while uncorking a fresh bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. The whirl of running water fills the gaps of silence, filling the bathtub slowly to the brink.
"Not as bad as it seems, darling." Lee can sense her eyes on him, even if his gaze is focused elsewhere. Wine, offered. "Here."
It felt a bit weird meeting Audra - after all, they have a mutual friend through the one person that Aria is not allowed under any means to talk to. But she worries about him. Hates that she can't stop thinking about if they've killed him. She could ask, and it's on her mind to do so - but she won't do that either. She just sits in it and waits. If she's good, if she's useful, then maybe it won't be too long before she knows something.
Still — she prepares by reminding herself that it'll be good to go out and be around someone that she knows she can trust. The text had come in at the perfect time, really - right when she'd been about to drift off into another spiral of anxiety that had seemingly overtaken most of her life these days.
No drama, just a clear head, beautiful art, and maybe a laugh or two with a friend. She could do that. Easily. She'd dressed and done her make-up so as to hide just how tired she was lately. She cracks an easy smile once she spots Audra just outside the venue, lifting a hand in greeting.
"Hey!" This feels so far outside the realm of what she's been dealing with the past little bit that it's almost a relief to just be. "I hope you're ready for me to ramble your ear off about how beautiful everything is."
#22 - Skyla/Elesa’s daughter Audra (or Audie for short)!
A Pokémon trainer and aspiring actress, Audie is always on the go, flitting between gym battles and auditions and rehearsals. She also enjoys Going Fast and can often be found hanging out at the amusement park in Nimbasa City. Some people might tell her she works too hard, but as far as she’s concerned the sky’s the limit!
"Audra," he's been watching her for a while now, and when he finally decides to approach her, it's in her back, putting a hand on her shoulder. She's quite the enigma to him. Out of all his employees, she's not the one he's closest to, but then, he cultivates this detachment with care. To be a good leader doesn't mean being friends with everyone you lead, but rather having their best interests at heart.
He knows what Lee's done to her but he can't deny this much : they had her best interests at heart. She's grown, developed into a woman that won't stray ever again, or so they say. He's not fond of torture. If not done well, it builds resentment. Of course, he trusts Lee's expert hands, but he also trusts a forger to be an expert at deception. Looking at her, you'd believe she hasn't been through hell. It's worth applauding. He respects someone who can pull off that kind of con. "You look exquisite," and she does. The last time he saw her, she dressed herself like Ophelia reborn. Today, she could be Lady Macbeth.
