i am currently writing a john/wes/audry oneshot that is Canon Divergent for rae’s Wesdry Au lol. a little suggestive preamble to the smut will (hopefully) be the main event of this fic

John hums and rubs his thumb over Wes's back. "Shame," he purrs, then gives Wes a pat. "Well. If you're not going to have your way with her," he sighs, "I am."

Wes tenses up so fast it's like John told him he was going to start torturing Audry, not try to take her home for the night. Wes drops his mouth open to say something, anything to stop John from crossing the room to her, but he's already stepped away from Wes's side by the time words come to his mouth.

With difficulty, he swallows them down, groans to himself, and whirls around to snatch another glass of wine.

Audry and John speak for a few minutes. She's got a tight look on her face at first, closed off, keeps distance from him— but after some conversation, all with a smug look on John's face, her shoulders loosen and her eye go half closed, like when she looked up at Wes through her eyelashes at the Spread Eagle his first night in town.

He groans into his glass. God. He can't be with her, and now she's going to get back with John, and they're both so fucking hot, and they're going to have sex without him.

Audry's back leaned against the front door, knob digging into her side and possibly queuing up a bruise to appear later.

John leaned over her, one hand placed beside her head, the other tucking her hair behind her ear. It could almost be considered sweet if:

"And just where have you been?" His voice sickly sweet, the tone he uses when he's very, very, very upset.

Audry swallowed, meeting his gaze. "Down at... at Nick's... place.." Her voice trailed off, worried he might forbid her from seeing his old friend.

John must have taken it differently than she intended, wrapping his free hand lightly around her neck, squeezing once. "Let's try that again. Where. Were. You?"

Her brows furrowed slightly, not quite understanding the ire. "At- at Nick's," she said with a little more confidence.

John's hand tightened, enough to threaten but not enough to take the air from her. "You're lying to me."

Audry gasped, hands grasping his wrist, fearful, and maybe just a little turned on. "I'm not. Where- where else would I be?"

"I don't know, Audry. Maybe sneaking out to see your good friend Pratt?" His fingers gripped her chin, lifting, until all she could see were his wrathful eyes. "Or maybe even my brother. I see how he looks at you. Don't forget, dear, that is my baby you're carrying."

"You really think-? I can't believe- Get off of me!" She pushed him with all her strength, but the Baptist was used to holding the upper hand. Audry's frustration turned to dread. Memories of her father's abuse clouding her vision.

John must have seen the change, released her chin but kept her pinned. His voice turned gentle, soothing. "I won't hurt you like him."

Her eyes burned as she tried to hold in the tears. "I won't leave you like they did." It wasn't their fault, she knew. But wounds didn't take in the details. She lightly traced his jaw, watching him swallow. "I love you, John. I will always love you."

He closed his eyes, the words pained him. It was all he had wanted to hear his entire life, and now that he was... It felt too good to be true. Too much to hope for.

"What can I do?" Dealers choice!

Oh boy sorry this took soooo long!!! Here it is though! I decided to do it with Audry and Ryan. I tried my best with Audry! Hopefully it ok.

“Ohhhh, city boy! You are not prepared for this! There ain’t nothing like the mountains of Montana.” Audry said excitedly.

Audry and Ryan had known each other for a couple weeks now but they had just found their mutual love for rock climbing. Audry was beyond thrilled to show him the best spots in the county.

Ryan laughed, “I mean... it is reason I left to come out west!”

Audry raised an eyebrow at him, “really?”

Despite just meeting she didn’t know too much about Ryan’s past. It was the gossip of the town for a while why a city boy would come out west so suddenly.

Ryan’s smile never faltered, “no.”

Audry just rolled her eyes, “well after today it will be the reason why you don’t leave.”

Ryan tsked, “those are some big promises.”

“Just hurry up, it’s right up ahead. I started us out easy. These are a little more well known areas but I’ll bring you to the real hidden gems and local spots some day soon.”

Audry jogged lightly up to the giant rock face. She glanced behind her to see the red head following steadily. She was excited to get out and have some free time. Lately it’s been busy at the sheriffs department. She hadn’t even thought about rock climbing in a couple months. Starting off easy would be a good way to get back into it after a while break. Plus she didn’t know Ryan’s skill level. Best to start easy.

She turned around to check if he was still following to see he had disappeared from behind her. She paused for a moment to see if he would eventually catch back up but became more confused and worried when he didn’t appear.

“Ryan?” She called out to him and walked back down the path a little.

On the ground there was a pile of stuff that he had been carrying. Alarmed she ran over, “Ryan!”

She looked around desperately for where he could have gone. Quickly her training took over and pulled up the possibilities of what could have happened.

“BOO!”

Audry jumped back in alarm as hands settled on her shoulders and a loud voice echoed in her ear. She whipped around and swung a blind attack at the stranger. He started laughing and dodged the attack. Audry flushed red slightly to see it was just Ryan.

“God, you dick! Where did you go!” She punched him more playfully this time. “You scared the shit out of me!”

“I mean that was the goal.” Ryan was still laughing.

“I thought someone kidnapped you! You left your stuff everywhere!” Audry ran a hand through her hair.

Ryan looked down at his stuff that was carelessly thrown on the ground. He rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly.

“Yeahhhh sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you like that. I just had to go take a piss and you had already ran up ahead so I just...” Ryan shrugged.

“Ok ok I don’t need to know, let’s just hurry up.” Audry urged him.

Ryan saluted her, “yes sir!”

Audry started grabbing his stuff off the ground and throwing it at him. Ryan contiuned grinning. Finally they contiuned their way back up the path to where a very large rocky cliff edge sat. A few meters away their spot there was a couple of teenagers shouting and sitting around a small campfire. For a moment Audry considered walking over and making sure they weren’t drinking but she remembered it was her day off and the kids appeared to be just relaxing and having fun. They didn’t pose a threat to themselves or others so Audry decided to allow them to have the fun of youth.

She turned her focus back to Ryan who was ignoring the teens completely and staring in awe at the giant cliff face in front of him. She was glad that he seemed unbothered by the extra noise and people around. Although she guessed that being from the city there were always a lot of people around.

“Do you wanna go first?” Audry offered.

She had been here many times before so it seemed fair that Ryan should go first.

“Hell yeah!” Ryan jumped excitedly and then paused. “Although you’ll probably have to help me.”

“Yeah, what can I do?”

“Maybe just help me figure out the route.” Ryan tapped his chin thoughtfully.

Audry nodded, “sure thing. I’ve been here many times before.”

Ryan nodded eagerly before starting getting ready. Audry started setting up and pulling out all their gear. After they finished their set up Ryan hopped up and prepared to start his ascent up the wall. Audry watched him carefully as he made his way up the rock face. She was impressed by the way he quickly learned and adapted to the new environment.

“Left foot down?” Ryan called down to her.

“Nope! Left foot up to the right a little.” She watched him carefully adjust his grip and slid his foot over to the next hole. With the last push he pulled himself up and over the edge and stood triumphantly at the top.

“Fuck yeah!!!” Ryan posed dramatically at the top. “You’re turn!”

“Gotta come back down here first.” Audry laughed.

She felt this was a start of a very good friendship. She giggled as he made stupid faces down at her from the top. Yeah, a very good friend.
