sakusa kiyoomi is late.

once upon a time, the mere idea of tardiness would have irritated him, but a lot of things have changed since he’d gotten married to you.

it’s not like he’d planned on being late. but he’d bought a new compression shirt recently, and had been trying it on when you’d walked into the room.

he’d just lost track of time when you’d peeled the shirt off his chest and kissed that sinful little trail down his abdomen.

and now he was late.

the team is five minutes away from warmup when he speed walks (he refused to incriminate himself and run) out of the locker room and to msby’s bench. he does his best to ignore his teammate’s pointed stares as he sets his waterbottle down and starts to stretch.

meian, who is standing next to him, asks, “newlywed life treating you well?”

he’s a little confused on what could have brought this up, but he nods anyway. “of course.”

his captain just grins, clapping him on the back. “well, don’t work yourself too hard. we need you at your best against schweiden next week.”

sakusa hums his assent, but doesn’t get what he means. it’s at that moment that the ref is blowing the whistle to call captains, so he doesn’t get to ask either.

so it’s not until the next day that he gets his answer.

and this time, he’s so fucking late.

late enough that a brisk speed walk won’t do. no, he’s jogging through the parking lot and into the restaurant, face a little flushed and breaths a little heavy as the hostess leads him to the table.

he can feel the stares of disbelief from his friends burning holes into his face as he mumbles an apology. once he’s slid his jacket off and is seated, he cuts them all a look that dares to ask.

it’s atsumu, of course, who dares. “who knew you were such a slut, omi-omi?”

hinata looked as if he was going to faint.

bokuto turned away, about to pop a lung with how hard he was trying to hold back his laughter.

sakusa’s gaze narrows dangerously. “excuse me?”

the setter simply shrugs, pointing at his chest. “you button that up in the dark or something?”

he quickly glances down at his chest, mortified to see that in his rush to get dressed, he’d skipped a few eyelits on his shirts. it’s hem was untucked too, only accentuating his unfortunate state of disarray.

well, what was he supposed to say to them? that you’d dragged him upstairs for a quickie when he was halfway out the door?

“you have been late a lot lately,” bokuto points out, as if that’s supposed to be helpful. “you were late to conditioning yesterday morning.”

sakusa opens his mouth to form an explanation, but it dies on the tip of his tongue when he realizes that he can’t share that you’d told him lifting you up and pressing into the shower wall had counted as strength and stamina training.

his teammates start listing off all the instances that he’d been tardy, and it’s with growing realization that sakusa realizes there’s only one common deniminator here.

it was none of their business. he was getting laid, like they’d been telling him he should be since he’d joined the team.

but the fact that people were starting to notice his increasing tardiness combined with the fact that miya atsumu was calling him a slut?

“done,” you hum, completing the knot of his tie as sakusa tries so hard to ignore the way you smooth your hands over his chest. “you look great.”

“thank you,” he murmurs, staring at the ceiling as you get up on your tiptoes to press a kiss to his jaw.

then one to his neck.

then you nudge the collar of his shirt aside and place one on his collarbone.

this is always how it starts.

and you’re entirely too enticing, your sweet-smelling perfume flooding his senses as you press your lips to his skin and bite—

in a panic, he grasps your arms and pulls you away, ignoring the offended look on your face. “we can have fun after the awards ceremony. we can even leave early.”

“but omi, i want you now,” you pout. “i can be quick!”

“take care of yourself then. we can’t be late.”

you whine a little, tugging on his sleeve. “but i want you to do it.”

“no. i’ve been spoiling you too much.”

a gasp. you pinch his arm, huffing, “‘m not spoiled.”

“you are,” he laughs, taking your hand and kissing your knuckles. “and i love spoiling you, but if we’re late, that means i’ll be proving miya right.”

“about what?”

“doesn’t matter,” he deflects, dropping your hand in favour of gripping your jaw, pulling you in to press a kiss to your pretty, pouting lips. “just be good for a few hours, alright? then i’ll reward you later.”

Okay I’m so sorry for this but like. Can you imagine Gojo married to his spouse and they conceive a child right before the shibuya incident- to which both are blissfully unaware- and only after he’s trapped does reader find out. So later on, if and when Gojo ever gets out- his wife being the first thing they see along with his students- a couple of years weighing down on them and peering curiously behind her legs is a young child, those same blue eyes staring back at him.

omg this reminds me of a piece that @augustinewrites wrote where reader finds out they’re pregnant right before he gets trapped :/ they don’t even get to tell him :/ he’s in that fucking box for god knows how long :/ and he doesn’t know that he has a lil baby on the way :/ i can’t even imagine him being in there long enough for the baby to actually be born and grow ;-; the thought is making me lose my marbles i fear

royal!gojo who's terribly in love with the reader x reader who's equally (but way more discreetly) in love with gojo. add to that, the trope of childhood sweethearts reunited as adults, excellent communication between the couple and a wonderfully-crafted world and dialogues - what more could you ask from a series?

a fic which i adore with every fibre of my being. i will not say anything more about this, except to request you to go read this. you'll love it. (especially the fantabulous ending. btw, did i already say how much i'm in love with how well-written this fic is?)

one of the best angst-with-a-happy-ending fic there is. i wish i could give thousands of kudos for the heart-wrenchingly amazing way the author has portrayed gojo's character here.

⌀ Mother of otherness, Eat me [oneshot] by itsbaby on ao3

one of the most beautiful works i've read so far. told from yuuji's pov, it explores gojo and reader's relationship and its nuances in a way seldom done before. however, what stole the show for me, was the soft and sweet mother-son duo the reader and yuuji grow to be in this fic. i really love this one-of-a-kind masterpiece.

a sweet and realistic depiction of reader and gojo being teenaged parents to young megumi, all the while they try to figure out their feelings for each other. a perfect mixture of fluff, angst, drama, slice-of-life and romance, imo. if you wish to watch godlike!gojo willing to let go of his powers, out of guilt and immense, immense, protective love for the reader, this is the ideal fic for you. i'm in awe of the way the writer wrote gojo's complex persona and the way the sorcerer realized his feelings for the reader. (the second chapter's the cherry on the cake. it's so good!!!!)

an amazing fic set against the backdrop of the hidden inventory arc. the portrayal of the characters and their dynamics is simply impeccable. despite my kind-of-dislike towards this particular arc of the manga, i really enjoyed reading this one.

i love ayato

the orders you’d received for this assignment had been simple: 

wait around in uyuu restaurant in plainclothes to get eyes on the target. discern his motives through some good ol’ fashioned eavesdropping, and report back. 

you were meant to sit at the bar, where you could see all the exits, the stairs, and all the guests. yet when you’d arrived and told them the name your reservation was under, they’d led you to a private table in the corner of the room. 

“there must be a mistake,” you frown as you’re sat down and handed a menu. this is hardly an appropriate vantage point. you can’t see the face of the guests at the bar, nor do you have eyes on the exits. 

“there is no mistake,” a familiar voice answers, and of course, stepping around the partition is none other than your boss. ayato’s wearing that smile as he approaches the table, the one you’ve seen him use to manipulate thoma into trying some suspicious looking drinks, or other clan leaders into traps.

(the one that, in your experience, almost always means, ‘i’m up to something.’)

“can i start you both with something to drink?” 

“just bring what we discussed, please,” ayato says before you can get a word out. then, to you, “you look confused. the yashiro commission promised to take care of your reservation. is the table not to your liking?”

the table is not your issue. well, not completely. 

“what are you doing here?”

he pays no mind to your sharp tone, simply slipping off his coat and handing it off to be put away. “what kind of boss would i be, if i did not check in with my employees from time to time?”

“this isn’t checking in,” you snap, glancing around when a few heads turn your way. “you’re interfering with my job. i should have you detained.”

“oh?” he asks, looking all too smug as he settles himself across from you. “and on whose authority?”

you bite back your retort as the waiter brings a bottle of dandelion wine to the table. how they managed to obtained imported wine from mondstadt when the country was closed was a mystery to you, but you have a feeling the man across from you might be responsible.

so you allow yourself a small sip your wine (you are still on the job, after all), watching warily as he discreetly places a hefty tip into the waiter’s palm. 

“is there a reason you’re here, sir?” 

ayato grins over the rim of his cup. “well, i like to think we’re merely enjoying each other’s company. also— you know how i feel about you using such formalities.”

you simply roll your eyes at him, setting your cup down gently. “well, when i’m technically supposed to be working, so it doesn’t feel right to call you by your name, my lord.” 

ayato sighs, placing his cup on the table and folding his hands over his desk as he studies you in that all too analytical way of his. “yet you feel comfortable enough to call thoma by his name in any capacity. how is this any different?”

“thoma is not the yashiro commissioner, nor is he my boss. he’s my friend.” 

he huffs at that, crossing his arms over his chest and pouting in a way that ayaka would call ‘petulant and childlike.’ “well, since i am your boss, i’ve a mind to order you to address me informally. as you would a friend.” 

“and i believe that’s what people an abuse of power.” 

his hum is accompanied by a slight tilt of his head. “why let it go to waste?”

you sigh, picking up your cup and taking longer than normal sip before murmuring, “there was never any mission, was there?”

and there’s that handsome grin again, but this time it’s accompanied that look. the one reserved for you. it’s not cold or calculating or sharp. it’s almost…fond. 

“ayato–”

the waiter chooses that moment to return, notepad in hand as he asks, “are we ready to order?”

“i am perfectly capable of finding my way home,” you sigh. “you didn’t need to walk me.” 

“i know,” ayato hums. “i just wanted to.”

you roll your eyes, but don’t say anything more as the two of you stroll through inazuma city. it’s quiet between you two, and you can’t help but notice the comfortable space between you both slowly beginning to dwindle.

it could be nothing, you tell yourself. the wanting to see you, the playful banter, the dinner. it could be nothing. maybe you’re reading too far into it.

“it is a lovely night, is it not?”

his hand brushes yours. you pull your hand away.

��what are you doing?” you whisper harshly, glancing around at the various bystanders gawking at you both, in awe of the rare sight of the yashiro commissioner perusing the street.

who just tried to hold your hand. you’re mortified. your heart is racing.

you want to hold his hand too.

but even if you want to, you can’t. you shouldn’t. he’s your boss. a member of the tri-commission. the head of a very powerful clan.

and you’re just you.

it must be written all over your face, this mix of emotions you’re cycling through, because ayato takes a step back, clearing his throat awkwardly.

“i apologize if that was too forward of me. i’d thought….”

“it’s okay,” you assure him quietly. “just…not now. not here.”

“so you’d be okay if we…” he glances around, at the people whispering around you both. “elsewhere?”

“if you can get more of that wine…maybe.”
