Oh she knows.
Langley absolutely knows about her height deficiency in comparison to her peers… and quite frankly doesn’t care. Even the likes of Spence, Foote, and Aulick are taller.
But even if she needs to fetch a stool to continue dressing someone down, she will.

The Hilltop Players Present Shakespeare’s “Measure for Measure”
Tumblr media
After having canceled the first weekend run of the fall play “Measure for Measure” due to injury, The West Liberty University Hilltop Players are excited to kick off their 2023-2024 season with a production of one of Shakespeare’s so-called “problem plays”. Performances will take place Thursday, October 19, 2023, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, October 20, 2023, at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, October 22, 2023, at 3:00 PM (the Sunday matinee is a sensory-friendly performance with reduced sound and lighting effects and the house lights remain on for the run of the show). Because of a generous gift from Thomas “TC” Cervone and Susan Creswell, all student tickets are free of charge. General Admission tickets are $12.50 each, with a Senior discount ticket of $10.00.  All performances will be on the campus of West Liberty University on the Kelly Theatre stage in the Hall of Fine Arts. Vienna is in turmoil after two decades of societal upheaval, and Duke Vincentio has abruptly decided to flee the city, leaving his faithful deputy, Angelo, in charge. Determined to put an end to moral corruption in Vienna, Angelo decides to strictly enforce even the most Puritan laws. When a young man named Claudio is sentenced to death, his sister Isabella pleads to Angelo for Claudio’s life. Many ethically questionable situations are present throughout the show, leaving the audience with much to discuss and process long after the curtain closes. The show is directed by Michael Aulick, Professor of Theatre at West Liberty. “There is a reason this play is called a ‘problem play’.  The story has some holes, the characters’ ethics are in question, and the verse is, at times, utter chaos” Aulick says.  “The play is and should feel as uncomfortable as real life often does. Therefore, we don’t think that the play is a ‘problem’ that needs to be fixed, but rather one that we should see and contemplate. We should leave the theatre with questions the audience can mull over in the weeks to come.” The production features a number of former Hilltop Players who have come back to lend their support to the program. Cassandra Hackbart (Class of 2013) is back on the Kelly stage playing the role of Mistress Overdone. Spencer Thomas (Class of 2016) is the technical director. Christopher Rees (Class of 2019) serves as the scenic designer. Alex Franke (Class of 2018) works as the lighting designer.  “It was a great experience returning to WLU and getting to work with some of my best friends all over again. It was like getting to experience a really great memory all over again and I look forward to having more opportunities to work with this team again soon,” Franke said. The cast features theatre majors: Len Batson, Roman Hicks, Daisy Deaton, Isabella Costantini, Benjamin Mounsey, Traelynn Alton, Rowland Dodd, Aidan Kosol, and Eva Tennant. As well as theatre minors and non-majors: Asa Krinov, Oliver Marks, Joy Deaton, and Mason Stoll, and graduate Cassandra Hackbart.  The West Liberty University Theatre is a nationally recognized program with the mission of providing a transformative educational experience for undergraduate students of theatre where a personal approach creates a place where they can ‘find their light.’ West Liberty University is West Virginia’s oldest public university, and it offers more than 70 undergraduate majors, plus a growing number of graduate programs, both online and on campus. This Modern Yurt is a project designed by Zach Both. “Tell someone you’re building a yurt and half the time you’ll watch as a look of confusion washes over their face. “What’s a yurt?!” they’ll often reply. Despite my inclination to tell people to imagine a wood-framed circus tent, the yurt is actually a unique structure with a rich history that stretches back thousands of years. The yurt has been altered and adapted in many ways since its earliest invention, but the basic principles have stayed the same.” Photography by Bryan Aulick.

“There is some debate about what is considered a yurt and what is not. The definition I’ve developed is a circular structure that consists of lattice walls and a roof built with rafters that adjoin to a center ring. This definition is inclusive of ancient yurts built 2000 years ago and many modern yurts being produced today. There are structures that may be confused for a yurt but do not fit within this definition. I would consider these buildings “yurt-inspired,” and they often already have a name of their own. Am I going to call out everyone who makes this common mistake? Not likely. But let’s celebrate what these different structures actually are instead of throwing them all into one bin labeled” “yurts.”

"Pick a color palette, then register for a wide variety of items within that scope so you can layer them together in new and interesting ways, but they’ll always look cohesive. Also: get a Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer – it will last you a lifetime." Jocelyn Arnold from @ellaportland shared her best advice for registering as well as some major inspo for a classic wedding. song ask: 5, 8, 12 and 16?
Thanks @justanotherbugheadtrash for your asks.5. A song that needs to be played loud? Come with me now - KONGOS This needs to be played loud in the car while driving. 8. A song about drugs and alcohol? Ashes to Ashes - David Bowie cover by WarpaintHeard this cover in a bar and fell in love with it. Probably heresy to say but I think I like it more than the original. 12. A song from your pre-teen years? Backstreets Back - Backstreet BoysI mean how can you mkt love that music video. I can't remember if this was teen or pre teen but it's what came to mind. 16. One of your favourite classical songs? I don't actually like classical music so don't have a favourite, but do love music used in film and video games so would say, I was Lost Without You - Sam Aulick from the Mass Effect 3 soundtrack for this one. The piano part gives such feels.
