Purr and Prejudice
We just spent a day re-enacting Pride and Prejudice through our two cats, one pet snake, and a host of stuffed animals, and photo-documenting the whole thing.
So, how’s your quarantine going?

“Laid out before her were the letters of a lifetime.” ✨📚✨ Miss Austen by Gill Hornby is a historical fiction novel that looks at the life of Miss Austen, although not the one that immediately comes to mind. This story is about Cassandra Austen, Jane’s beloved sister and the one guarding her reputation and legacy. In their lives, Cassandra was Jane's secret keeper, confessor, first audience and companion. After death, she also became her censor, destroying Jane's correspondence and this is what this novel mainly focuses on. Throughout the novel, we get the perspectives of Cassandra as an old woman, looking for the letters and the reasoning behind why she’s looking for them, as well as memories of Cassandra as a young woman, which is prompted by the letters. I really liked this novel, and it’s take on why Jane’s correspondence was annihilated by her sister. I enjoyed learning more about the Austen family, and about Cassandra herself. This book was incredibly well researched and I enjoyed every moment of it. It asked and answered so many questions about choices, love, duty, family, death and remembrance. I’m a huge Austen fan, and am incredibly pleased to have picked up this beautiful book! ✨📚✨ Miss Austen is book 13 for 2020. #bookstragram #books #booksofinstagram #booklover #bookphoto #reading #aussieswhoread #avidreader #booklover #aussiereader #bookdragon #reader #readersofig #booksofig #bookcommunity #bookish #bibliophile #readersofinstagram #bookstagrammer #booklife #bookaddict #girlswhoread #readinggoals2020 #bookquote #missausten #gillhornby #historicalfiction #austeninspired #janeausten #beautifulcovers https://www.instagram.com/p/B8Bj9TKAKg2/?igshid=iv0eo5wjihzm
