Hey real question, why can I not do things I want to do.
I have been wanting to read all day. My book had been laying next to me all day. I have not been able to pick it up and start. I feel bad about this. I really want to read it. Why can I not just. Read it. What goes wrong.
Even just now, I picked it up to complain about this, and I knew that as soon as I would stop complaining (aka, touching the book would actually start implicating reading it) I would put it down again, and be umable to read it again
Why. Is this a neurodiverse thing? Is it my maybe autism? What is this

is the feeling of getting stared at uncomfortable to some autistics? like you can’t do anything and you go through immense stress?
Yes!! I feel uncomfortable when people stare at and it makes me wonder things like ''am I acting normal enough or am I being too autistic? Why are they staring at me? What should I do?'' I'd defo say it stresses me. I'm sure other autistic hoomans go through the same thing

Just had a idea.
In magic heavy settings where either A. Magic is based around and Intrinsic to your personality or B. It's a craft one must hone. What would these to systems be like for autistic people? What would we really come up with considering our alternative way of thinking?
Wanna hear y'all's thoughts

hello! i hope you don't mind me asking this question, i'm not sure who to talk to about it! i am autistic and sometimes i go nonverbal, but i'm not sure how to let the people around me know. are there any common ways to let someone know, e.g wearing a bracelet or badge? thank you sm! ♡
Hiya!! I’ve seen some places sell badges that let people know you are nonverbal or sometimes go nonverbal, I found this badge on Etsy buy a creator that might be a good option for you to wear! It will let people know you sometimes go nonverbal without having to tell anyone. I have linked it in the post.
Another tool I would suggest is communication cards that you can hand out to people. You can buy some online but I find it easier to make my own for free and I can write whatever I want on the cards! I’ve made some in the past that say “I’m autistic, please give me space, I may go nonverbal”. You can put the card on a lanyard that you wear around you or you can just hand people a card that says “I am nonverbal right now” which you can make yourself at home! If you cut a small square of paper and write your message on there you can keep it with you to hand to people whenever you need!
I hope these suggestions help you! 🤗

Autistic people, what’s something you wish you knew when you started high school? My little brother’s starting soon, and I want to be a good sibling. Please reblog!

5, 8, 10 for the ask game 🙂
5. What are some of your happy stims?
Some more are my echolalia stims. Like my high pitched 'ooo' that I got trying to mimic my cat, Kylo, or the diddly dee from Martin Copping videos.
8. What are your favourite tastes?
I like sweet stuff, but not like too sweet. A goo ratio of sweetness like a good milk tea. I also really love some salt. Like the perfect combo of those is mashed potatoes. Put in some milk, butter, salt and pepper, then added corn kernals and that is perfect.
10. What are your favourite smells?
I love floral smells and masculine smells. Like the driftwood, sandalwood, cashmere mash up stuff. Also FUCKING LOVE MUSK INSCENSE. I have a bad habit of sniffing people when I smell their cologne/perfume before asking because SMELL.

“If you have time to be on social media, you also have time for…” “If you have time to watch Netflix, you also have time for…” Yeah, but do I have the energy for it? Do I have the emotional and mental capacity for it? Am I pain-free enough for it? Can I focus on it? Can I do it without leaving my bed? Can I safely do it without risk of (physically or emotionally) injuring myself by pushing past my boundaries?

Okay, I've got a question for the roleplay/muse community (jesus I hope it's still alive-)
Is it normal for muse blogs to be side blogs? Is that considered to be socially acceptable?

Why do men smile at me? Is this like a sign of agreeableness? Like I know it's a positive interaction but why to me?

My brain is constantly trying to make me doubt myself by saying: "well if your sister is diagnosed with autism then surely they should have caught it with their next child" to try and like,,, make me doubt myself???
Me and my sister are also very different (although both show different signs of autism, and share many other signs) and sometimes I doubt myself based on that.
Do you have any tips for dealing with something like this?
If you feel/think that you might be autistic, maybe the best thing to do is to find a therapist that can help you get diagnosed. But before doing that, try to read about autism as much as you can, that way you'll see if you can actually relate to some autistic traits.
Here's a link with toooons of PDF's you can read: https://www.mediafire.com/folder/padh7ak6boaz3/Autisme_Asperger

One thing I don't think gets brought up very often when talking about being a weird kid is that you end up feeling like every question about something you like is just a bait to get you talking passionately about it so they can make fun of you. Yknow what I mean?

So story time lmao
At work I get people that come up to me and yell in my face and get in my personal space, I can't make out what their saying because I'm deaf and they will rip things out of my hand like my scanner or pole and then yell at me again or just try to act intimidating ig.
I can't help but think it's either because I'm deaf (I don't communicate with anyone at work besides my managers and my dad) or if it's because I'm autistic and people see I'm different. Does anyone else that's autistic or deaf deal with something like this? I've also had people tell me "they are the boss of me" when they are on the same level as me, or they will try to stop me from doing something I was asked to do by a manager the one person actually asked the manager if they really asked me.
I also don't like being trained in new things because I always hear "what's wrong with you, why don't you get this?" or just patronizing comments can and will give me a meltdown.
The other day I was training for something new and the exact above scenario happened not to mention they only showed me once and everyone expected me to know everything then a guy came up to me screaming and ripped my pole out of my hand in front of a manager like what even is that? And it's almost every shift I don't know what to do anymore because one day I'm going to loose it lmao.
I'm just trying to see if this is "normal" for people on the spectrum to experience.

How long is this going to take? - 'Impatient, rude.'
Are you trying to change the subject? - 'Passive Aggressive, rude.'
When can I leave? - 'Dismissive, rude.'
Why am I here? - 'Antisocial, rude.'
What is the point of this? - 'Arrogant, rude.'
Is this absolutely necessary? - 'Lazy, rude.'
What does that even mean? - 'Too blunt again, rude.'
Why would you do that? - 'Criticizing, rude.'
