I was about to say “remember they are but men”, but I seem these two supporting characters are going to do their best not to create that impression, what with the masks.

Kid’s got moves! I guess the stick is helpful but not required.

Not being well immersed in the show yet, I don’t know which of these two things is true, but Zuko surely does. Either this fight has proven Zuko correct, and basic fire skills won’t defeat the Avatar, or it’s proven Uncle correct, and Zuko’s fire skills aren’t as good as he thinks they are.

Let’s remember a few things here, buddy. (1) You got into this mess because you triggered a booby trap. (2) You heard Zuko say “take it to my quarters.” Please do not think you can just walk in and grab it and no one will notice.

And that’s our second episode. I’d be worried that Zuko, unable to track down Appa and our lead trio, would take revenge on the village, but I hope that’s not going to happen. I’m sure we’ll keep tabs on Zuko’s pursuit as Katara, Sakko, and Aang journey to the North, leaving time for some fun along the way.

Sokka’s like “What have I gotten myself into?”
Katara’s like “SIGN ME UP FOR ALL OF THIS.”

Yes. Serious business.
I will keep an open mind on plot vs play. I was never one of those who objected strongly to Steven Universe’s townie episodes... except for the Ronaldo ones.

There was enough of a pause before this line that I thought for a moment that the episode was going to end on “I never wanted to be.”
Before Katara gets too much into this guilt-trip, I’d want to know what Aang experienced before he was frozen. He knows what the war was like when it first started, and he may have been caught up in it. And once he was frozen, you can’t really hold it against him how long he stayed in the iceberg.

I mean, you’re both right. If he could do this as a kid, imagine how utterly screwed you would have been if he had a century’s training.

what was i saying earlier about fire being a precarious weapon to wield in a land of ice and snow?

I would have to assume this falls under a guideline of, the more of the element you’re trying to manipulate, the less fine control you have. Otherwise you’d just blast any opponent with everything you’ve got at all times, right?
