Thor, the First Son of Odin, was born to a great destiny: Heir to the Golden Kingdom and God of Thunder. Though his destiny was not one he got to choose... so it was too bad The Fates had granted all men Free Will.
When Thor perishes in battle on what was meant to be only a simple quest with his brother and friends, Loki is burdened with the task of taking his place in the world. Life had not prepared him for the loss of his elder brother, but Loki would adapt. It鈥檚 what he did... It's what he was born to do.
And so he would.

Tis The Season...Or Maybe Not|| never-doubt-i-love-you
Just as it did every year, snow blanketed the streets of New York City and every avenue was bustling with people shopping for their must-have gifts for loved ones. 聽Stark, or rather, Avengers Tower was decorated outside with some other lights that Tony and Pepper agreed on and the inside had a damn Christmas tree on every floor. 聽Natasha had never pegged Stark as the festive type and she had been less than pleasantly surprised when she'd come home to her floor decorated with little spiders from the Halloween party wearing Santa hats...
She hated those things...and the hats didn't make her hate them any less. 聽Maybe even more so.
With a frustrated sigh, she'd taken the decor on her floor down only to have it be put back up when she'd left once more. 聽With JARVIS on Tony's side, she'd never win, so she gave up on that battle and opted to ignore it. 聽Christmas was only a couple of weeks away and it would all be over soon.
While this was just another obnoxious holiday to her, she came to realize that it would be both Thor and Loki's first Christmas. 聽It wasn't as if she was the one to explain to them what it was though, having never taken joy in the season to be jolly. 聽As a matter of fact, Tasha went out of her way to avoid people until it was all over. 聽She currently resided in the common area of the penthouse, drinking hot chocolate and looking for a channel that wasn't playing a damn Christmas special. 聽
She cursed Hallmark to the most fiery pits of Hell.
"锌褉懈褌胁芯褉褋褌胁芯..." she muttered, flipping through the channels. 聽

The Universe is Funny Like That|| never-doubt-i-love-you
As it was, Natasha's concept of trust was muddied by the events of the past in the Red Room, but since the battle in New York, she'd felt like she was always walking a tightrope between naivety and faith. 聽Before recent events, she'd thought the two the same for the most part. 聽There were only a select group of people that Tasha was willing to let her walls down for.
Loki certainly wasn't one of them, no matter what had happened or who's side he'd ended up taking. 聽The lives that he'd taken along with the lives that she'd forced Clint to take...those wouldn't ever be forgiven. 聽
Even though she'd never admit it, there was something bothering her much more than any of that. 聽What had happened with the demigod...before his change of action, she'd thought them similar and how suddenly, he was being given another chance. 聽They were identical, or pretty damn close. 聽Knowing that made her sick but she hid it well.
The expression that warned to 'keep friends close and enemies closer' came to mind. 聽Loki lived under the same roof as she, right in Stark Tower. 聽The others had at least managed to mutually decide that he was no longer a threat but making that leap of judgement didn't come naturally to her. 聽聽
Having just gotten out of the shower, Nat rubbed the thick towel over her fiery locks quickly before settling on wrapping her head with it. 聽It would dry eventually. 聽For once, she wore a robe casually. 聽There was nothing on her agenda for the next few hours so a movie was in order.
Stark's entire house was automated, something that Nat adored for some reason. 聽Normally, she was drawl to the old-fashioned, but this was a convenient addition to her daily routine.聽
A sight slipped through her lips and Tasha sat down on the couch of the common room. 聽At firs she said nothing, needing to take in the silence. 聽
