The avian homeplanet's plants, and worms pretending to be plants.

Plantworms tend to out-compete the true plants in wet climates with nutrient poor soil or unstable substrate (such as wetlands and rainforests) because of their opportunistic carnivory and mobility. The true plants out-compete them in arid climates (such as tundra and deserts) because they have more robust water gathering and anti-freezing mechanisms. While both can form mycorrhizal associations to aid in water and nutrient deliver through the soil, true plants have extensive root systems and are not completely reliant on rainwater and condensation in the absence of mycorrhizal partners.

Both plantworms and true plants have clades that partner with pollinator animals to reproduce, but some plantworm "flowers" are honey traps. They use their colorful genitals as a lure to snare and eat potential pollinators, and reproduce "the old fashioned way," as in, reaching over to their same species neighbors to exchange gametes.

I've posted a little about avian flora before, though this is more up-to-date.

i'm a huge fan of @jayrockin's runaway to the stars universe, and i figured it was about time to make my own ocs!!

these two are roommates at a jovian university. the centaur is aul-waral (he/they), a homeplanet centaur who took a keen interest in human literature, and is currently majoring in jovian lit. the avian is ipsauwitt (she/he), a polar avian raised offplanet by his brightparent and dunparent, who chooses to reject a lot of avian cultural norms. she's majoring in structural engineering.

the best term i can think of to describe these two is life partners? sometimes their relationship is romantic, sometimes it isnt, but theyre sticking together through it all.

Finally settled on designs for my RTTS fancharacters!

Wiijhasi deals with paperwork on a Tiiliitian mining station. They're expected to uphold the reputation of the influential avian company they're representing, but so far they've been veering dangerously close to tarnishing said reputation. They're an avid partygoer, easily distracted but imaginative.

Rintiye is a member of a centaur clan hired by the mining station management for cheap labor. Rintiye herself, however, isn't well equipped for physical work, despite her remarkable height, so she's usually stuck running errands or doing tasks no one else is interested in, wearing herself out in the process. While she may appear pessimistic and easily annoyed, she's just trying her best.
