hi lovely! would you consider writing some dating headcanons for percy and a daughter of nyx?
⋆⭒˚.⋆ percy jackson x daughter of nyx! reader hcs
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
content: percy jackson x daughter of nyx! reader hcs warning: language (like once but still), author's note: when i tell you i did homework for this one, I RESEARCHED I HUNTED I LEARNED- tbh had no idea who nyx was so that was the start and then i took a deep dive bc i was determined to do these hcs well for you honey
percy wasn't supposed to be up, technically
and him being up wouldn't have been such a big deal, if he'd just stayed in his cabin.
but nooooo, he just had to get peckish and he knew the dryads often started breakfast the night before.
he figured it'd be easy to swipe a bagel, in good new york boy fashion.
easily, he snuck past the harpies, distracting them with riptide which he chucked as far as he could, knowing it'd just appear in his pajama pants later.
he made his way to the kitchens, peeking around a corner and being met with another teen, a girl who's eyes darted to him before returning to the stove, where she was cooking up some pancakes.
"hey," she greeted, casually, like they weren't both breaking copious rules.
"...hey," percy greeted, suddenly overly conscious of his plaid blue pajama pants and hoodie
he'd seen her around camp, knew she was a daughter of nyx, which was honestly a little intimidating
not so much anymore, seeing her casually in a a cheesy 'I heart new york' shirt and star pajama pants.
"...want a pancake?" she offered, glancing over at him with a soft smile
"could you make it blue?"
a few minutes later and half a bottle of blue food dye, they finally produced a blue pancake. both of their hands were stained with blue, but they just laughed it off, growing more comfortable together
they both realized they'd been intimidated by people who turned out to just be big softies
i guess we aren't just like our parents after all
the pair pulled themselves up onto the island in the kitchen, crossing their legs on the counter, sharing smirks and laughs as they dug into their midnight snack
percy was drowning his pancakes in syrup when the girl cleared her throat, pulling his eyes away from the sticky meal
"wanna see something cool?" she prompted with an excited glimmer in her dark eyes
percy nodded without thinking, feeling his heart rate spike. he could see himself falling for this girl, see himself having late night - well, early morning - snacks with her for the rest of his life.
she hopped down from the counter, obvious to percy's inner turmoil, though she was feeling a similar patter of her heart.
she raced over to the lights of the kitchen and flicked the lights off. percy was doused in darkness for a few moments and as his eyes were just starting to adjust, they didn't need to anymore.
it started a small sort of pulsing ball but then it grew, seemingly pushing the darkness out and away.
it didn't light up like the children of apollo did, but it was more just the absence of the dark, looking like a grey filter was settling over the world.
"my brothers better at this, but i think i'm alright," the daughter of nyx muttered, percy just barely managing to make her figure out.
"i think that's fucking awesome."
the girl was grateful for the darkness, as it was perfect to hide her steadily growing blush.
they went back to their snack, the lights turned back on. through the window, they started to see the sun just starting to peek out from behind the mountains. they both knew the dryads would be here soon.
"i don't feel like i've adequately thanked you for this," percy began as they started to clean up, sharing a warm glance with the girl, a small smile growing on his lips like he knew something she didn't.
"you- you don't have to, it was my pleasure-"
"how about i take you out on a date?"
"...deal."
author's note cont. : I honestly had so much fun writing this one!!! ah, i love it!! anyways, i hope you love it as much as i love it.

passionate as sin — ethan landry
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
word count: 2.6k
pairing: camp counselor!ethan landry x camp counselor!fem!reader
summary: ethan and y/n find out that kissing is more passionate when hatred is involved and fraternising is considered a sin.
warnings: none!
Tumblr media
The rivalry between Garden Gate Camp and Holiday House Camp was something exciting for the campers and dreading for the owners. Y/N's family camp had existed for way too long, due to it being a family legacy. And then, just a few short years ago, the Landrys appeared in the picture to make their lives a mess by setting their camp right next to theirs. While the newest one was more advanced and modern, the other one was cozier and homier.
To summerise it, the business competition created hatred and enmity between these two families, especially between the dads—although Y/N and Ethan came in close second.
The two teenagers have spent their summers arguing and pulling pranks on each other ever since they met. One would think that now, being 20-year-olds, they would've grown out of a prank war that started when they were 15.
"Nice shirt! Your dad will love it." the curly-haired boy laughed once Y/N stepped out of the dressing room.
"You're a pervert, I was showering!" Y/N hit him with her wet towel, causing him to whimper in pain.
The boy had sneaked into the dressing room and changed her Garden Gate Camp counselor t-shirt for a Holiday House Camp one. "Don't worry, I made sure to hear the water running before I got in. Let me take a pic, this will be good for our socials."
"You put your phone near my face and I'll make you swallow it." Y/N said between gritted teeth.
"Fine, fine." he put his phone back on his pocket. "You look good in that shirt."
"You could've at least given me the right size." she groaned as she tried to fix the shirt that barely reached her belly button and was tight as leather. "I don't think I can get out of it. For real."
"I'll gladly help you with that." Ethan smirked, which motivated her to hit him with the heavy towel again. "Ouch! Y/N, it's a wet towel, it fucking hurts."
"That's why I'm hitting you with it, Einstein!"
"Whatever." Ethan said rubbing his arm. "There's a party tonight, at my camp. You and your friend are invited."
Y/N frowned. "First of all, why the hell are you inviting me? Second, I'd rather die than get caught at your stupid party."
"I'm not inviting you because I want to." he scoffed, as if the implication of wanting her there was ridiculous. "My friend, Anika, is interested in your friend Mindy and she asked me to invite her. I assume she wouldn't like going alone, so you can go too, I guess."
"So thoughtful." she rolled her eyes. "No promises."
"So you won't go?" Ethan asked.
Y/N's shoulders slumped. "I guess I will, but just because Mindy is interested in her too."
"Awesome." the boy said with fake enthusiasm. "Party starts at midnight."
"Can't wait." she showed him her fakest smile.
"By the way, I wasn't lying. You really do look good in that shirt." he said before leaving.
Y/N walked away, cheeks on fire. He was an irritating, infuriating, exhasperating asshole. But he was also hotter than hell, which made him even more annoying because she couldn't help but feel heated by his words.
Tumblr media
Y/N and Mindy managed to sneak in through the fence that separated both camps. The owner's daughter still couldn't comprehend why it had been necessary for the Landrys to set a camp just right next to another one. But oh well, it was what it was.
"There they are." Y/N tilted her head towards Anika and Ethan, who were doing their job as counselors in one corner.
"Hey, thanks for doing this." Mindy said as they made their way to them.
“Of course, Minds. I know how much you like her.”
“I was hoping you’d change your mind.” Ethan spoke with an exaggerated tone of disappointment when the girls reached them.
“And pass the opportunity to annoy you in your own territory? No way.” Y/N flashed him a venomous smile before turning to Anika. “Hey, Ani. Nice to see you.”
“Nice to see you too, Y/N/N” she smiled sweetly. Despite the rivalry Y/N had with her friend, she had always been super kind to Anika. “Want to dance, Minds?”
“Sure.” Mindy looked at Y/N, silently asking her if she was okay with it. Y/N sent her a subtle nod, and both girls got lost amongst the campers.
“They’re cute together.” Y/N said.
“They are.” Ethan agreed. He passed her a can of beer, which she thanked with a nod.
“You know, it took two people’s help to get me out of that shirt.”
“And sadly, I wasn’t one of them.” he made a clicking sound with his tongue while shaking his head.
“That’s the second time you mention wanting to get my shirt off me. Are you that desperate?” Y/N smirked, taking a sip of her drink.
Ethan eyed the way her throat moved as she swallowed “And you blush every time I mention it. Are you that desperate?” he mirrored her smirk and took a sip of his beer too. His lips were glistening, soaked by the drink, and for a moment the sight left Y/N in a trance.
She hadn’t noticed how tempting his lips were. They were round and full, and she got the sudden urge to trace them with her finger and feel how soft they were. Y/N looked up and their eyes met. Ethan had caught her eyeing his lips, but he didn’t look smug like she would’ve expected. Instead, he held her stare with intensity and she noticed them turn darker.
The air instantly got thick, their skins turned hot and breaths turned uneven. Their bodies stiffened, feeling their hearts accelerating and a swarm of electricity ran from the top of their heads right to the tip of their toes.
Their magnetic field grew stronger with the passing of seconds, until the mood was broken when something bumped against Y/N’s shoulder, making her fall into Ethan’s side.
“Shit, sorry. Tripped over my own feet.” the guy apologised. He was tall, though not as tall as Ethan. He had short dark brown hair that fell to the sides of his face like a curtain, and an amazing bone structure. He was handsome and Y/N wondered why that camp was filled with such good-looking people.
“It’s okay.” Y/N smiled weakly. She didn’t know if she should be glad or mad that the moment was ruined.
“I’m James, camp counselor.” the guy presented himself. He inspected her face carefully. “Wait, aren’t you Y/N? From Garden Gate?”
“Yup, if you tell anyone you saw me here, I’ll kill you.”
The boy laughed. It was deep and rough, extremely attractive. “My lips are sealed. But I’ll be extra careful if you accept dancing with me.”
Y/N could feel Ethan’s eyes on the side of her face, expectant to hear her answer. James was gorgeous, and in other circumstances she wouldn’t have hesitated, but right now she wasn’t dying to dance with him. On the other hand, if she stayed with Ethan, she’d have to acknowledge the strange moment that happened between them.
“Just for a bit, I’m not much for dancing.” she finally said. And when she felt Ethan’s stare on her back as she walked away with James, part of her regretted her decision.
Tumblr media
“What the fuck was that?” Ethan asked, leaning against the wall next to the doorframe, when Y/N exited the bathroom. She had excused herself from the dance floor, leaving James alone, and Ethan took his opportunity to get the irrational anger off his chest.
“You’ll have to be more specific, Landry.”
“You, dancing with James. Didn’t your father teach you not to fraternise with the enemy?” his jaw was clenched and his body burning with rage.
Y/N rolled her eyes. “Anika is also fraternising with the enemy, yet I don’t see you mad over that.”
She had a point. Truth was, he had wanted to punch James so badly when he saw his hands gripping Y/N’s waist and the way she was smiling up at him as she swayed her hips in such an hypnotic way. Ethan didn’t know what was going on with him, but he knew that he and Y/N had an undeniable chemistry. And he wanted to dive into it.
“You’re right.” Ethan said after a few seconds.
“Great. Can you move?” Y/N asked, as his tall frame was blocking the door.
He didn’t budge. “You’re not going back to him.” Ethan stated calmly.
Y/N scoffed. “Why do you care if I go back to him or not?”
Ethan took a step closer, leaving them chest to chest. Y/N had to tilt her head up to look at him properly. Her confused eyes made contact with his darkened ones. The kind of dark that made Y/N’s insides melt. She set her hands on his hard chest, while his found her hips.
None of them knew who got rid of the distance, nor did they care. The only thing that mattered was that their lips were pressed together in one heated, breathtaking and passionate kiss.
They kissed like they were liberating the tension they had been accumulating through the years, like they were letting out the anger that every prank, insult, glare and hurtful comment had made them feel. They kissed like it was something they had been wanting to do for a long time and never realized—or never wanted to realize.
“Hate you so much.” Y/N slurred between kisses as she grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and pulled him inside the bathroom, pining him to the now closed door. “You’re so good at this. I hate you.”
“I hate you more. Seeing you with someone else makes me furious, and I hate you for that.” he descended his kisses to her neck, collarbone and shoulders. Those kisses were softer and slower, as if he just wanted to feel her skin with his lips.
“I hate that your lips are soft and that I’m already addicted to them.” she said as she played with the hair on the nape of his neck.
“I hate how many times I’ve dreamt about this, and I hate even more that this is better than anything I’ve ever imagined.” he lifted her up and set her on the counter.
Y/N’s hands gripped his shoulders and pulled him even closer. “You’re so fucking gorgeous, it makes me so mad.”
“Tell me about it. Just my luck, the prettiest girl I’ve ever seen is also the bane of my existence.” he squeezed the back of her neck.
“Good thing we found something to help us release our anger.” she bit his lip so hard that it drew blood.
“Asshole.” he cursed. Then, an idea passed through his mind and a grin appeared. Before Y/N could address the weird reaction, Ethan attacked her neck making her squirm.
“Ethan, what the fuck!”
“Have fun explaining that to your father, sweetheart.” he smiled devilishly. Stepping back, after giving her one more short kiss, he opened the bathroom door. “See you tomorrow.”
“This changes nothing, prank war is still on.” she said with a glare.
How he loved when she got all angry with him. “Wouldn’t have it any other way. But it does change things, we can still have our little rivalry, hate each other, but I’m the only one who gets to kiss those pretty lips, understood?”
“I don’t know.” she scrunched her nose and gave him teasing eyes. “I’m kinda curious to know how James kisses.”
“You can try, but we both know you’ll came back to me.”
Y/N was sure that was true, but she wasn’t going to admit that. “Oh, yeah? Why so confident?”
“Because our chemistry is unmatched. And because I know that if you truly wanted to know how James kisses, you would’ve already made a move. You always go for what you want.”
The fact that he knew her so well made Y/N’s heart go crazy. “Meet me tomorrow at the fence after 8pm?”
Ethan shook his head, and Y/N hid her disappointment. But then, he went and made her cheeks flush when he said, “That’s seems like eternity, need to see you earlier than that. Before breakfast? At the fence.”
Y/N tried not to smile. “Okay.”
Ethan couldn’t help himself, and walked towards her again to kiss her once more. Just one kiss and they were both turned into fools. “You look beautiful tonight, by the way.”
The thing that started between them was like a sin. Their parents would never approve, but that’s what made it so passionate and exciting.

She Don’t Wanna Marry Me
Lorraine Day X Reader
Tumblr media
A/N: I would like to apologize and thank everyone for the likes comments and reblogs. You guys are awesome and I suck 😭 having some writers block but I’ll try to get to those requests and finish what I started for now here’s a random one shot I wrote in the middle of the night
3rd Person POV
7 years old
You watched as a snot nosed boy pushed a pretty little girl with a pony tail, overalls and freckles into the sand.
It wasn't until teary big brown eyes met yours that you stepped into action. You cocked your fist back and let it fly smiling as it made contact with the boys face. His cry catching the attention of your teacher who grabbed you by the arm dragging you to her office.
The brunette in the sand box sniffled as she sent you a small smile and wave.
It was after school as you sat waiting for your mom (who you knew wasn't coming anytime soon) when she came next to you.
You both sat on a bench you still as her feet swung from one after the other.
"My names Lorraine." You glanced to see her not looking at you but rather her shoes.
"Y/n." You mumbled.
"I'm sorry I got you in trouble."
"S'ok. Brian's a dick." The girl looked at you wide eyed.
"Daddy says I shouldn't say words like that." You shrug.
"He's not here." You smile cheekily at her. The girl stares at you for a beat before she continues.
"He said my voice was weird and my freckles were ugly."
"I like your voice and I think your freckles are pretty." The girl smiled as her feet kept kicking her eyes watching as her shoe laces would bounce with her.
"Lorraine!" An older woman stepped out of her car walking up to the two of you. The girl jumped up from the bench hugging the woman around her legs making her laugh. "Hey baby. How was your day?"
The sound in her voice was thicker than her daughters and she was very pretty. You looked back to the girl seeing the similarities between the two.
"I made a friend today!" She smiled up at the older woman before bringing her to you.
The woman looked down at you smiling slightly concerned as she noticed the quickly emptying parking lot.
"Well any friend of Lorraine's is a friend of mine! What's your name sweetie?"
"Y/n L/n, ma'am." She laughed.
"Don't call me ma'am it just makes me feel old." You nod not meeting her gaze. "Where's your parents sweetheart?"
You shrug. "Sometimes mom forgets to get me."
Her eyebrows furrow.
"And what about your dad?" You shrug again.
"I don't know him." Mrs.Day softly placed a hand on your shoulder.
"Do you know how to get home?" You nod. "Come on then I'll give you a ride."
You stand up slinging your back pack on your shoulder, grabbing Lorraine's as well. Her mom smiles at the action helping you in the car as her daughter bounced excitedly in the back seatbelt already on.
You tell her mother how to get to your house and she pulls up to see a car in the driveway house lights on. She notices besides the directions you were quiet as her daughter retold your meeting today. As you go to leave you thank her quietly almost reluctant to leave the car.
Mrs.Day waits until you get inside seeing a shadow greet you before you wave politely and shut the door.
"Rainey baby?"
"Yes mama?"
"I want you to keep an eye out for your new friend alright? Y'all stick together." The small girl nodded bouncing in her seat.
13 years old
"Say it again asshole." You grit your teeth pulling the boy closer to you. The boy in front of you trembling in your hold on his shitty t-shirt.
"Y/N!" A small hand grabs your shoulder
forcing you to loosen your grip. "Let him go. You can't get in anymore trouble."
You look into deep brown eyes sighing, pushing him away from you. "Beat it."
He doesn't hesitate to run from you quickly grabbing his bag as he flips you off. You scowl before turning back to his savior.
"C'Mon Raine." You whined. She crossed her arms over her chest raising one eyebrow at you. You huff grabbing her bag as the bell rings. "Alright." Your shoulders slump slightly. "Lemme walk you to class." She smiles linking her arm through yours as she laughs.
"Mama always said underneath that tough exterior is a giant teddy bear." Your scowl deepens but you say nothing as you keep walking next to her preparing for an hour of monotone voices and bullshit. "Remember the day I made you marry me?"
You glance at her lips almost turning up into a smile.
"I also remember a very demanding doll yelling at us to kiss." Olive cheeks bloom red as she pushed some of her hair behind her ear.
"Well I remember someone promising to love me forever and ever and never marrying anyone else." Mischief swirled in her eyes and she dug her fingers into your side: it was your turn to flush embarrassed as you thought back to the day you two had been "married". Her father and mother had a field day helping the two of you make Lorraine's dream wedding.
The backyard full of flowers a few chairs and her father even walked her down the isle to you.
You cough shrugging her off. "Whatever, I'll see you after class?" She nods smirking and taking the bag from you. Her smirk falls as she points a finger to scold you.
"I expect you to go to class after this Y/N you know how upset mama and daddy will get if they hear you're ditching...again." You nod, the girl always knew how to get to you. She smiled knowing she'd won leaning forward to kiss your cheek.
You turn quickly so she can't see your smile as you run down the hall. Your pace getting even faster as you hear the warning bell.
18 years old
"So everyone I would like us all to raise our glass to Lorraine who's going to university."
You raised your cup before bringing it to your lips, Mrs.Day's sweet tea tasting bitter as you watched everyone celebrate Lorraine's soon to be departure.
The girl in question saddled up next to you. "You know it's not too late right?"
You looked down at her wanting to tell her. It is too late, you tried applying to the same school as her but your scores weren't as high and you refused to take advantage of her parents. It was enough they took you in and cared for you since you'd met them. You'd never be able to repay them if they covered your college tuition.
You shrug. "You know I'm not meant for college."
Her eyes softened as she looked at you. "I know that's what your mom told you, but that doesn't mean she was right."
"So miss big shot...maybe I should get your autograph now before you become a big time author." Her smile grew wide as you said this but she shrugged.
"I doubt it." You shook your head.
"You're gonna forget about us small town folk once you get to the big city."
"I would never." She looked up at you, a comforting silence fell between the two of you and you felt the tension growing as her gaze went from your eyes to your lips. You leaned in pausing to see her reaction, and for a moment you swore she was leaning in too.
"RAINEY! COME GIVE YOUR GRANDPA A HUG!" You sighed licking your lips as you leaned back, the girl quickly regaining her composure before she went to greet her other family members.
"Love is blind and lovers cannot see the pretty follies that they themselves commit." Mrs.Day appeared next to you.
"Shakespeare." She looked to you not surprised that you'd known where the quote came from, he was her daughters favorite author.
"It's not too late." You almost laugh at the irony. Like mother like daughter.
"She doesn't know but I tried." You turned to her mother. "I spent hours, nights, days studying but I just kept falling short." The older woman's eyes softened as your confession pulled at her heart strings.
"We can-"
You shook your head. "You all have given me so much I refuse to be more of a burden to you."
"Now stop right there." You straightened up as the usual soft tone in her voice grew harsh. "Mr. Day and I love you like our own and we never-"
"I know but.." you sighed. "You guys should focus on Raine and her needs, I made sure I got a job so I at least wouldn't be mooching off you too much by staying here."
You looked to see the girl smiling and laughing with those around her. Mrs.Day looking to you and then back to her daughter who'd always seemed to keep a close eye on you without you knowing. When one wasn't looking the other was. She shook her head after the day you two had met you revolved around one another like magnets the further anyone tried to hold you apart, the stronger the connection would pull you back together.
21 Years Old
Your foot bounced as you sat at the table with Mr. and Mrs. Day awaiting the guest of honor, their daughter. Over the years she'd visit home here and there but you'd always seemed to just miss her whenever she'd come by. At first you two would talk every day and night but the calls came less frequent, you'd be lucky to get a text on your birthday or if she'd heard good news through the grapevine.
Your breath caught at the sight of her walking through the front door and you felt a smile work it's way up, you went to stand but quickly fell back as a tall scrawny boy followed behind her. His nice attire and constant eye twitching telling you all you needed to know.
"Mama, Daddy I want you to meet RJ my boyfriend." She hasn't noticed you were there yet her parents insisted they'd surprise her with your presence. Mr. Day looked to the boy sizing him up as Mrs.Day just stared. You cleared your throat.
"Hey Raine I hope you don't mind me joining." The small girl looked up wide eyed and incredulous.
She threw her arms around your neck almost choking you in the process. Her mother still staring with a look of confusion as her father said nothing. Deciding to play nice you shake the boys hand.
"Nice to meet you RJ." He gulped smiling gratefully to you as he shook your hand wincing at the grip.
"You too uhh...."
"Y/n. I'm guessing Lorraine hasn't really mentioned me huh?" The realization stung as you'd gone to sit back down you'd happen to glance at the girls finger seeing a diamond catch the light.
"Umm baby is there something you want to tell us?" Mrs.Day had caught sight of it before you did and planted one hand on yours hoping to comfort you.
"We're getting married!" She squealed. Mr.Days mustache twitched as he stared in silence. You cleared your throat.
"This feels like a family thing so I'll just excuse myself. Nice to meet you Reggie." Mr.Day finally cracked a smile as Mrs.Day held back a laugh.
"It's RJ." He murmured. You nodded.
"Right, good to see you Lorraine." You nodded at her. Her eyebrows furrowed it was rare you called her by her name when addressing her.
"But Y/n-" Her mother cut her off to help you.
"So tell us how did you two meet?"the sounds of the restaurant faded as you quickly drive to the closest bar you could find.
Once you pulled into the parking lot you sat for a moment fists pounding the wheel.
"FUCK!"
22 Years Old
You read the same invitation over and over until the words were permanently etched into your brain. Their wedding was set just a few months from today, you felt numb as you thought back to the countless drinks and the one night stands you tried to have to erase the girls hold on you. Unfortunately for you it never left, not when you'd met girls who were the exact opposite of everything she was. Not when you'd move out of her parents house insisting it was time for you to stand on your own two feet, and especially not now when her wedding invitation stared back at you, taunting you.
Your phone buzzed as you'd received a text from Mrs.Day
Come to the house I know you haven't had a decent meal in months and Lorraine's here
Sorry Mrs.Day gotta catch up
On work
You put the phone down quickly immersing yourself in meaningless tasks.
"Hello?" The timid voice accompanied by the soft southern accent was unmistakable and you silently cursed to yourself when you bumped your head shooting up in surprise.
You grabbed a towel wiping your hands before following her voice.
"Hey Lorraine." You cleared your throat as you rubbed the back of your neck. The woman smiled softly at you as two girls next to her came closer.
"Ooooh Mouse you didn't tell me your childhood best friend was such a cutie. Hi baby I'm Bobby." Pearly whites shined at you as the next girl came closer eyeing you like a piece of meat.
"I'm Maxine." She purred holding her hand out, you shook it being polite before looking back to Lorraine.
"They're my bridesmaids and roommates. They wanted to meet you but mama said you were busy so she gave me the address." She looked around a proud grin on her lips. "You always had a thing for cars." You nod again a slight smirk to follow.
Bobby eyed the both of you nudging Maxine as she did so, the former already catching drift of what was going on. The two shared a glance before turning to the scene in front of them. Lorraine stepped closer looking at you up and down a mixture of interest and concern.
"You look good, mama said she's worried about you eating though." You shrug laughing.
"It's a physical job and you know how your mom is."
"We'll she's worried about you." A pause. "I am too." You look into soft brown eyes and feel your shoulders slump. You sigh beginning to slide your overalls off your shoulders displaying a greasy tank top.
"Ok, I'll go to the house to get dinner when I finish." The same look that made you cave in high school gets you again. You groan. "Alright Raine I'll go now and close up shop sound good?"
She smiles victorious as the girls behind her begin giggling. You follow them out as Lorraine makes sure you're right behind them. You climb the bike you've spilt blood sweat and tears on making Maxine whistle.
Lorraine feels odd watching her friend walk up to you and place her hand on your shoulder fingertips dragging slowly down before making their way up the path again.
"Hey girl you ok?" Bobby gets her out of her own head as she nods.
"YOU GUYS GO AHEAD IMMA CATCH A RIDE WITH GREASE LIGHTNING!" Lorraine hears you huff out a soft laugh. Your rev the bike twice before you pull up next to her.
"We'll meet you at the house Raine." She watches as you race to her house.
"Let's go." She says harshly to Bobby marching to her car.
She finds you standing in her driveway waiting patiently as Maxine lays across your bike trying to get to your attention. You straighten up as she gets out the car smiling slightly confused as to why she’s pouting. The only other times she’s done this was when you were younger and wouldn’t follow her plans. The door swings open warmth and familiarity wrapping around you.
Her mother greets you with a hug and kisses all over your face and it occurs to her maybe she wasn’t exaggerating, you haven't been home a lot either.
Mrs.Day smacks your shoulder. "You've had me worried sick."
The girls melt as they watch you soften up and hug the woman. "Sorry."
Mr.Day laughs seeing you get scolded by his wife. "I told ya she'd be coming for your hide. Now come here and give your old man a hug too."
You smile as you both try to crush each others spines.
"Now you..." Mrs.Day pulled you away. "Need to get ready, go shower that gunk off and be sure to wear something nice."
When you came back down Maxine let's out a slow whistle. "And I thought you looked good before."
You rubbed the back of your neck clearing your throat. "Thank you."
Lorraine stares hard at Maxine slowly getting more and more agitated by her behavior around you. This doesn't escape her mom or Bobby's attention. It also doesn't slip past Bobby that displayed proudly by the stairs is a picture of you and Lorraine in what seems to be a wedding as kids. She already felt Lorraine was out of RJ's league but to know she had someone waiting for her just solidified her predictions. She watched Lorraine walk up to you quiet as always. Church mouse was her nickname for a reason but at the moment she was anything but. Lorraine lays a hand on your shoulder effectively taking your attention away from anything that isn't her.
She watched as she used that hand to pull you into the kitchen and prepare you a plate of food. She cocked her head to the side as she gauged your reactions, she knew Lorraine well enough but you were another story entirely and yet she felt as if she may have already figured you out. The way you moved with her, gave in, and followed her she would've thought you were her fiancé. Especially with how attentive she was as you sat to eat, you going as far to give her some bites as you saw her eyeing certain foods on your plate.
"Rainey baby where are you?"
And just like that your bubble is broken, Bobby watches as you suddenly grow stiff and lose your appetite. The minute Lorraine leaves the seat next to you, she fills it.
"I got a question for you honey…”You look up surprised before nodding at her to continue.
"How long you've been in love with Lorraine?" She pulls out the picture of your first wedding. You smirk sadly chuckling a bit as you stroke the picture.
"I don't think there was a time when I wasn't in love with Lorraine."
"What happened?" You shrug.
"She don't wanna marry me."

Hi, I have an eddie, roan, reader idea! Maybe roan has a school play or dance recital and she's got a solo or something and she really nervous so que a sweet and sappy pep talk from eddie or reader. Then eddie and reader and sitting watching her like two smiley, proud goofs bc roan is killing it (obviously) 😊😂
thank you for your request ♡ you and dad!eddie comfort his daughter roan when she panics about her upcoming solo dance. fem!reader, 1.2k
Eddie crouches down by the car. He doesn't care that it's raining, doesn't care that he's gonna have wet knees for the two hours he spends in the audience. He doesn't even care that you're being rained on next to him as you hold the umbrella over his head, because Roan is crying.
Not the roaring sobs of a tantrum nor the panicked braying of an owie. She's crying slow, sluggish tears, and she's declared a heart-breaking statement. "I don't think I can do it," she sobs, covering her face with her hands. Her nails are painted silver and pink. The bracelets around her wrists slip down to her elbows, sparkly bangles you'd insisted she needed. It's a very glittery display of unhappiness.
"Sweetheart, what? Are you kidding? If anybody can do it, it's you."
She'd been a little bit quiet on the ride over, but she smiled when you bragged preemptively about how many photos you were going to take of her performance, and laughed when Eddie said, "So don't mess up!"
Not his best joke, he realises now.
"I don't want to mess up the dance," she says through sobs.
Eddie puts his hand behind her and pulls her toward him gently. She's reluctant at first, though she melts as he pats a short rhythm into her back. "You won't mess up the dance," he says, nudging her forehead with his nose to make her look up. "You practised with me so much, we know all the moves back to front."
"But it's different," she says, shuddering. Her body attempts to regulate a sudden emotion. It doesn't do a very good job.
"It's different," you say. "The lights and having the mommys and daddys looking at you. It's different. But different doesn't mean you'll mess up, right?"
"And messing up isn't the end of the world," Eddie says.
"Exactly!" you agree. "Nobody watching will care if you make the wrong dance move, babe. You can make mistakes."
"You can make all of the mistakes," Eddie says.
Roan rubs her wet cheeks into Eddie's shirt. "I don't want to look bad for you," she says.
"What do you mean, Ro?" he asks, his voice softened to silk. He can't stroke her hair, not after the hour he'd spent making it look perfect, but he holds the back of her head in his hand and rubs a line across her cheek with his thumb. He needs her to calm down. "You don't need to worry about us. We're proud of you no matter what."
"I'm no good," Roan says, sniffling.
"You're no good? Why would you think that? You're so good," Eddie says.
"I'm gonna mess up," she says, holding your hand loosely through the gap in Eddie's arm. The rain wets your hair. You don't even feel it, your eyes full of patience as Roan devolves. "I'm gonna be bad. Everyone's gonna laugh at me. I can't do it, dad."
You clear your throat. "This recital is to show off how good you are, yeah? Me and daddy already know you're amazing. We've seen you doing the perfect dance every night for two weeks!"
"And if anyone laughs at you, I'll beat them up."
You choke on air at Eddie's declaration, but you don't tell him to take it back. In fact, you nod solemnly. "I will make daddy beat them up. But nobody is going to laugh at you, Roan."
"You're beautiful," Eddie says, taking her by the shoulders. "You look so pretty. You worked so hard on practising your dance, and you're gonna show everybody how awesome you are. I promise, babe. Cross my heart."
"You think it'll be okay?" she asks unsurely.
Eddie stands up on aching knees, looking down at her with his most encouraging, most saccharine, most confident grin. "I know so. I know you're worrying, baby, but we have to go inside now. We don't wanna be late, and Y/N's drowning."
You stand with him, holding the umbrella steadfast over Roan's head. Your coat is shiny with rain, and your jeans are a formidable blue. Eddie'll have to rub them to warm them up when they've found their seats (oh no, what a chore).
Roan hesitates. Eddie cups her cheek.
"You can do this, bubby. I have never ever been so sure about something before as this."
He's lying —he's ninety nine percent sure Roan won't mess up, and he'd been a whole percentage point more sure about one thing in particular. You're standing by his side, nodding vehemently.
"You can do this," you reaffirm.
In the end, Roan makes it on stage. You and Eddie campaign for a pair of great seats not quite as in the middle as you wanted, but close enough to the front for Roan to see your eyes. You hold the video camera chest level and Eddie rubs your legs until friction heats the chilled skin there, warming you toasty. He whispers a quick thank you for your generous umbrella-ing, to which you kiss his stubbly jaw and babble about protection detail. You're more excited than you were before Roan's Mother's Day dance, and that's saying something.
Roan appears toward the right hand side. The music is loud but non abrasive, and if you and Eddie didn't already know, it would surprise you when she spins forward into centre stage halfway through the dance. He holds his breath and you squeeze his hand, camera held steady as the bodice of Roan's white dress catches the light. Her tulle skirt flares out like the petals of a daisy as she performs her solo. It's over in less than ten seconds, the other girls and boys falling forward to join her, but they're the proudest ten seconds of Eddie's life.
He doesn't expect to feel heat behind his eyes. Alarmed, he digs a finger into his shirt and pulls the collar to his eyes to wipe at the wet corners.
"She did it!" you whisper, shooting him a smile. "I knew she could do it!"
Eddie beams. He doesn't even know how to explain the level of pride he's feeling. He starts with a hug that lasts a good ten minutes after the show (Roan jumping into his arms, shouting "I did it!" at the top of her lungs) surrounded by parents praising her for a job well done. They go for ice cream, and they stay out late celebrating. Eddie swears he's gonna fall asleep the second his head touches his pillow, but he has enough energy left in him to put his cheek on your shoulder and whisper, "Can you pass me the video camera? I wanna watch it back."
"Again? She rocked it, baby. Please go to sleep."
"I will! Just– after this one."

Isn't she lovely? -141
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Based on a request: simon riley who is a girls dad and his daughter comes home upset one day and very quiet. it goes on like this for the week but not only does he notice but his friends, the taskforce 141 as they are close with simon's family. they get super worried as she's usually happy and brings light into the room but now she's avoiding eye contact, speaking, and jokes. realize she's being bullied at school and they go to the school to "deal" with the situation and make this whole pink themed tea party to make her feel better. ---- No mentions of reader, dad!ghost, fluff, uncles!141 ----
Task Force 1-4-1 is not just a badass team on the field with all those cruel people but also dads and the best uncles any kid could ask for. It's funny, they always joked about those stupid dates they were set up on or the way one of them was getting married and as the years go by they all retire one by one, finding themselves becoming one big family.
Today, at their monthly family dinner, Simon and his lovely wife find themselves hosting the dinner. Their two youngest kids running around with their cousins and Soap's wife, the most energetic aunt of all. "Where's the little one?" Price asks as the oldest child of the group was nowhere in the home. Usually, she'd sit near her uncles and they'd pamper her for being the first and favourite of all kids…but don't tell that to the others.
"School, my missus is picking her up," Simon says before taking a sip from his drink.
And once his pretty wife arrives, his daughter follows along. Her greeting to her aunts and uncles was dry, with no usual jokes or funny comments towards Uncle Soap's long mohawk.
"Wow..stop there, kid, come back," Gaz says but the 8-year-old ignores him.
It's fascinating how these so-called cold-hearted men have turned soft for their loves and little loves. So, if one of them is hurt, the guns and bombs come back just for a moment.
"What happened to 'er?" Soap asks Simon's wife and she sighs. "A boy in her class made fun of her leather jacket and pink dress, she's been like this since I picked her up," she says and Simons sighs in frustration. "Who is the kid?" Simon asks and his wife gives him a knowing look. Headmasters kid, of course.
"I'm going after that little shit," Simon says and as he gets up from the sofa, the other men follow along.
"Simon, no, don't do that-" "My daughter is a cool kid, if she wants to wear a leather jacket like her dad and her pink dress then she will and that fuckin' kid won't make her question how cool she is," he says through gritted teeth.
The four men make their way to the school.
"Are they going to hurt a kid?" Price's wife asks. "Maybe the dad, but not a kid," Soap's wife says.
An hour later, more than they should've taken, the burly men come back. A small smile appears on the soft face of Simon's daughter. "Daddy!" She runs to him.
The four men wearing pink tiaras, pink fluffy tutus and even some pink shirt Soap found at the store. "Cool dads wear pink," the shirt says and although they were tight shirts, their wives have to admit, they look awesome wearing them.
Simon picks his daughter up, "Like my outfit princess?" he kisses her forehead. "It's like mine!" she smiles and Simon nods. "We were jealous that you had to outshine us this way, so…we had to outshine you," he smiles.
"Now, go get your hair up, we'll serve the boring people food and for us five…we'll hold a tea party before dinner," he smiles as he watches his precious daughter's face light up. There she is and her smile.
It was cute and funny, but beautiful enough to have pictures of this moment.
They were truly family men now and that's what anyone would wish for, even if it included tiaras and a sassy uncle.
At a small table, where their knees hit their chest, the four former SAS soldiers sat around, getting served tea and crumpets by a special little princess.

How strong is Joey? You said previously he has big man tatas
And how’d he treat his sons vs daughters? I feel like he’s accidentally lovingly misogynistic. Especially given his conservative religious upbringing. Like he doesn’t believe that darling should labor in the sun, but he doesn’t believe that darling is lesser than him because she’s a woman. Does this make sense?????
Joey's actually very good about beating back any unintentional misogyny. He has a lot of family members, but Betty Jo, one of his sisters, is probably the biggest and strongest laborer in the family. She's huge, and could probably hog tie a cow and carry it into the next field if she needed. He's no stranger to women working just as hard if not harder at traditional masculine activites than men.
He tends be more gentle and allow darling to stay in the house and do stereotypically feminine chores because he just loves them so much! He thinks they're delicate, and their from the city. He doesn't want them to overwork themselves!
As far as kids, Joey is thrilled at whatever his little guy or gal is into! More of a home chores kid? Great! Wants to help on the farm? Awesome. Doesn't really want to do anything but sit and play with rocks? A little odd, but he's more than happy to join in.
The only real difference in how Joey treats kids is age. Until the kid is about eight or so, Joey will treat them like glass. Gently holding them, extremely slow and careful piggyback rides, and baby proofing the house even if they're old enough to ride a bike and swim. Once they're over eight? All bets are off. Play wrestling, swinging the kid around over his head, or throwing them into a big bale of hay from the hayloft. All if the kid is okay with it, of course.
He's excited is his kiddo is good at something he isn't. If Joey's little boy comes up to him and talks about how much he likes cooking or baking, Joey's thrilled! He's always had someone too make meals for him, and he can't cook to save his life. He's so excited that his kiddo has a hobby he can learn with them. Regardless of what his kid is into, he'll sit and listen with fascination.
Joey has had a lot of siblings, but as the youngest boy he doesn't have a ton of experience with babies. Because of this, you'll have to tell him off from time to time, as well as his other family members because of the odd things he may do. He's only ever been around baby animals, so you'll have to explain why human babies can't be held by a scruff, or why they won't start walking within a few days like a baby cow. He's a little disappointed he won't be able to have a conversation with his kid for a few years, but that doesn't stop him from talking to them.
"Mhmm, there's my big healthy lil' dumpling'. What're you gigglin' at, huh? You happy to see daddy? Are ya?"
Joey is thrilled that his family uses hand me downs so much now that he has kids of his own. Seeing his little girl in his old red truck shirt of his little boy in some big green rain boots is enough to make him cry. Expect to see him showing the kids and the rest of the town old family photos of him in the same clothes when he was little.
He's a great dad, especially in the early years. Diapers need changed? He's dealt with grosser. Babies hungry? You stay in bed, he'll feed them. You honestly don't even need to purchase a crib, because his baby is not leaving his broad chest.
"Cmon, darlin'! I'm big and soft, I'm just as good as any old crib, and Joey Jr. Here agrees. Let him stay a lil' longer? Please?"

Tumblr media
Austin, Texas
It was around 2:30 the next afternoon that Joel Miller had given you a ring. You were on your well deserved lunch break after Javi P put you through absolute hell. Why you thought it was going to be an easy hack session with him, was beyond you. Javi P never made anything easy, but you were determined to show this horse some good in his life. He’d been through hell in the racing industry, and it left a bad taste in your mouth just knowing how disposable he and his brother were to their old owners.
When your ringtone blared, you nearly lost hold of your sandwich as you grabbed your phone, answering it on the second ring.
“Hey darlin’ it’s Joel; Joel Miller. The uh–the guy who called ya yesterday about getting his daughter some ridin’ lessons?”
You honest to god thought it was fucking adorable that Joel even thought for a minute that you weren’t gonna remember him. You most definitely had not been thinking about this man all day after your phone call. No way, that definitely wasn’t you.
“Hey, Joel! I take it I left a good impression on you yesterday?”
He chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck as he was parked in front of Sarah’s school, waiting for her. “Yeah, you uh–most definitely did. Anyway, i’m waitin’ to pick my daughter up and then we were gonna head over, if that still works for you?”
“Oh, perfect! Yeah, that still works for me! I’ll meet you out front when you get here, and then we’ll do the tour, sound good?”
“Sounds like a plan to me. Just wanted to y’know check in and make sure that I wasn’t inconveniencing you or anythin’ like that.”
“Well, I appreciate you calling, but I hate to break it to you, I don’t do much around here for you to be inconveniencing me.”
“I’m sure that ain’t true. You seem to uh–really enjoy what you do, which is hard for a lot of folks to say. Don’t sell yourself short, and just from our conversation yesterday, can tell that you really care about the horses, even when you’re threatenin’ to turn one of ‘em into glue.”
You let out a light laugh, biting the tip of your nail because woo doggy, Joel Miller was a total fucking sweetheart in your books, and you still hadn’t met this man in person.
“Thanks, Joel. I appreciate you saying that. You’re not gonna let me live down the glue thing, huh?”
“Anytime, darlin’ and oh, no I will not be letting you live that one down.” He looked out the driver side window when he saw Sarah walking up and he reached over, unlocking the passenger side door for her. “Hey, Sarah just got outta school, S’okay that she’s not like in uh–proper ridin’ stuff?”
“Oh, yeah that’s fine! Jeans and a t-shirt are the most comfortable option. We’ll get her fitted for a helmet as well, if you guys end up choosing our place that is.”
“Oh, sweet. Didn’t know if there was like a strict attire or anythin’ like that and I got a good feelin’ that we’re gonna be seein’ a lot more of each other.”
“Nah, we’re not like the hunter jumper barns. As long as she has closed-toed shoes, she’s good.” Your heart may or may not have skipped a beat when Joel Miller casually stated that he had a feeling you were going to see each other a lot more. Damn these southern charm Texas men.
“Alright, awesome. Pickin’ her up now, see ya in a bit!”
“See you in a bit, Joel!”
He hung up just as Sarah had climbed into the passenger seat and buckled herself in.
“Who were you on the phone with?” She took notice that her dad had a slight blush to his cheeks and she couldn’t help but grin and give him a little shoulder punch.
“Just got off the phone with your potential new ridin’ instructor. I think you’re really gonna like her, kiddo. She seems pretty cool.”
“You’re blushing dad, you know that? Right here!” She playfully poked his dimple.
“Am not! Just a little hot in here. Sweatin’ bullets.”
“Sureeeee it’s just the heat, you’re so right!”
He gave his daughter a playful warning look while he reached over and ruffled her head of curls.
“I ain’t blushin’ I don’t blush!”
“Okaaay dad, whatever you say!”
Joel Miller was not blushing. Like he said, he doesn’t blush. It was just the hot Texas air that had him feeling all flustered.
You quickly finished what was left of your sandwich, checking the time as you tidied up your desk. You grabbed your phone and slipped it back into your jeans pocket as you headed out of the makeshift office, and into the aisle way of the stalls.
“Listen up fellas, we have a potential new client coming through in about 20 minutes, and i’m expecting all of you to be on your very best behavior.” You looked directly at Javi P as you spoke. “Yeah bud, I'm talking to you specifically. We are NOT biting any kids today, alright?”
Javi P looked displeased, and if horses had hands, he would most definitely would be flipping you off right now.
You spent the next 20 minutes sweeping the aisle way, wanting everything to look presentable as possible. You heard the sound of truck tires under loose gravel and you just had a feeling it was Joel Miller.
“Alright boys, it's showtime!”
Sarah was telling her dad another horse fact from her book when they were getting out of his truck. “Dad, this one is super cool! Did you know that horse hooves are made from the same protein as human hair and fingernails? That’s one big finger nail!”
Joel had let out a laugh, his eyes crinkled up a bit in the corners as he shook his head. “Think that protein is called keratin? Sounds about right to me.”
“Keratin! Yeah, that’s what it's called!”
He observed the area then and took notice of the blooming flowers in the front of the stables, and the overall comforting vibe this place had. He could hear the familiar sound of a horse whinnying. The distinct barn smell didn’t even have him turning up his nose, and in a way, he found it oddly comforting.
His head turned in the direction of the door opening as you stepped outside. You were wearing light washed jeans that definitely were well worn, a loose graphic tee, Star Wars to be specific. The fabric was faded, but he could make out the image of two X-Wings. So, you were a nerd too, just another added bonus.
Your jeans were a bit dirty from your fall off of Javi P earlier, and you were certain that your hair probably looked insane, but Joel wasn’t expecting you to walk out in a mini skirt and stilettos, that was damn sure.
“Joel? Hey, nice to put a face to the name!” You held your hand out to him and he grasped it in his larger one. He had a firm grip, and his palms were well worn, a little calloused. Not that you were paying attention to those little details or anything.
He was undeniably handsome. A tall fucking glass of water, as you would describe him to your friends later over drinks. He had deep, warm, inviting brown eyes, a good structured jaw, and a killer smile. One that would definitely make any girl weak in the knees.
Joel already knew what you looked like from your bio on the website, but in person? You were even prettier. Joel had been so focused on his job, and caring for his daughter, that he never really saved any room for himself. He hadn’t gone on a proper date in god knows how long, but he just had a feeling that maybe you were gonna change that for him.
He smiled as you shook hands before he gestured to his daughter, wrapping his arm around her shoulder.
“Hey, nice to meet ya! This is my daughter Sarah. Newly horse obsessed as you already know.”
Sarah swatted at her dad’s arm playfully and stuck her tongue out at him. “Dad, don’t embarrass me!”
You couldn't help but laugh as you watched their interaction. It was clear Joel and his daughter were very close. “There’s nothing to be embarrassed about kiddo. I, too, am horse obsessed. Would even go as far to say that I am horse crazy.”
Sarah let out a huff, crossing her arms over her chest with a small smile. “Yeah, okay. Guess there is nothing to be embarrassed about. Horses are pretty freaking cool!”
You nodded. “They are super freaking cool! You guys wanna head in and I'll give you a tour?”
Sarah was already grabbing her dad’s hand as you led the dad daughter duo inside the main building.
“We’ve been in business for a little over a decade now. We’re family owned and a non-profit and all of the horses here were rescued from various situations. We focus heavily on good horsemanship skills, positivity and creating a safe, judgment free zone. We currently have 6 horses at our facility. All at different skill levels, but 5 out of the 6 are extremely beginner friendly.”
Joel had his hands shoved in his jean pockets as you spoke, he was attentively listening to everything you were saying.
“Did you rescue them all yourself?” He asked.
“Yep, every single one of them. Not all at once, but I'd get a tip from someone in the business about an upcoming auction, or abandoned barn, and I'd be there. I’ve traveled across the country for a couple of them, and I wish I could rescue every horse, but I do what I can y’know?”
“I understand. It’s great that you’ve given ‘em a second chance at life and a fresh start.”
You held the door open for them as you led them into the aisle way where the stalls were located. “Yeah, I agree with you. They deserve so much more than to just be thrown away like that. These boys are some of the luckier ones.”
All 6 of the horses had stuck their heads out of their stall doors to see who was coming and Sarah’s little heart was already melting.
“So like I was saying, we have 6 horses currently. Their names are Frankie, Dieter, Whiskey, Javi P, Javi G, and finally, Ezra.”
You brought them over to the first stall which was Frankies. He was a bay, tobiano paint. He had one blue eye, and one brown eye. You leaned against the side of his stall door as he peeked his head out over the side, nickering softly at you.
“This is Frankie, he’s our newest recruit. Just actually picked him up from Utah a little over a month ago.” You gave him a gentle pat on the neck. “He’s about 20 years old, in horse years and he’s a sweetheart. He was a little girl’s birthday present and he was well loved up until he spooked one day. She fell off and broke her arm and her parents deemed him to be ‘unsafe.’ He would have been on his way to Mexico if it wasn’t for me. I’m working on doing some desensitizing training with him as he doesn’t handle loud, sudden noises very well. He loves kids though.
Sarah frowned as she listened to you talk about Frankie and what would have almost happened to him.
“It wasn’t his fault that he spooked, right?”
“No kiddo. It’s never the horses fault and we gotta remember that their prey animals. If they feel like they’re in danger, or threatened, their natural instinct is to run.”
“Can I pet him?”
“Course you can. Here, he’ll love you forever if you give him one of these.” You reached into your pocket, pulling out a carrot and snapped it in half, handing her the one piece. “You’re gonna want to hold your hand out flat, tuck your thumb under your fingers cause you don’t want him accidentally biting them.”
Sarah nodded as she walked to his stall door, holding the carrot out to Frankie like you said and when he had licked her hand as he grabbed the carrot, she let out a soft giggle.
Joel had the softest fucking smile on his face just from seeing his baby girl happy like this.
“Next we have Dieter. This guy? He’s a little trickster and he’s pretty damn good at it. Loves to steal things out of your pockets if you’re not careful. I’ve caught him nearly escaping at least a dozen times. Had to really get creative with the locks on his stall. He used to be a lesson horse at a hunter jumper barn not far from here. The schooling shows really started to wear him down and they felt like he was useless after that.”
“Woah, he has a mohawk! That’s so cool! What kind of horse is he?” Sarah asked.
“He’s a Norwegian Fjord. He’s in between the size of a standard horse and a large pony. They typically have longer manes but due to the weather, we keep his trimmed so he doesn’t overheat. Plus, I think he enjoys having a mohawk, wouldn’t you say?”
Sarah didn’t hesitate to give Dieter a soft stroke on the side of his neck and she looked back at her dad with a small grin.
“I think he looks very punk rock, whad’ya think dad?”
“Very punk rock. He pulls it off pretty well I think.”
Whiskey, who’s stall was next to Dieter’s, was pawing impatiently at the ground.
“Ahh yes, good old Whiskey boy. He can be a bit of a handful at times, but he has a super smooth gait due to his breed.”
“When you talk about a horse's gait, are you uh–are you talkin’ about their movement? What makes him different from the rest?” Joel asked.
You looked over at him with a smile and nodded. “Yeah, that’s right. Their gait is their natural movement. Whiskey is a Tennessee Walking Horse, and his natural gait differs between a flat walk, running walk, and a canter. He’s best suited for the trails and easy flat work. This guy was rescued from the ‘Big Lick’ industry. His gait is naturally high stepping but to enhance it for shows, trainers would use chains, heavy boots, and chemicals on his fetlocks in order to have him step higher. The practice is considered cruel, for obvious reasons, but people get away with it often. He went lame at one point and was thrown into auction.”
Joel had frowned as he listened to Whiskey’s story. It left a bad taste in his mouth that people could be so cruel to an animal like that.
“So, these guys really have been through hell, huh?”
“Unfortunately they have. Trust me, I get angry just thinking about what they went through.”
“Well, they’re certainly lucky that they have you, darlin. I like his coat color. That’s the proper term ain’t it?”
You almost felt a blush creep up your neck when he called you darlin again. At least you could blame it on the sweltering heat. Not because of Joel Miller and his smooth Texas drawl.
“Coat color is the correct term, yeah. He’s a dappled palomino. I call him honey sometimes because of his color, and because he’s as sweet as honey. A little bit of a flirt as well, a ladies man you might say.”
“He definitely gives off the ‘pretty’ boy vibes.” Joel said with a chuckle.
Before he, or Sarah could walk to the next stall, you put your arm out in front of them protectively, just as Javi P had lunged his head out, with his ears pinned back against his head, baring his teeth.
“I told him to be on his best behavior but I swear, this horse never listens.”
Joel was more focused on your soft grip on his bicep to even process the angry beast in front of them.
“Is this the horse you threatened to turn into glue yesterday?” Joel asked in a joking manner.
Sarah let out a shocked gasp.
“Don’t worry, kiddo. I wasn’t actually gonna turn him into glue. He just isn’t the friendliest as you can see.” You gently released Joel’s bicep from your grip. “This is Javi P, he’s an OTTB, better known as an off the track thoroughbred. He was gonna make it big in Kentucky and would have sold for millions if it wasn’t for his accident. His jockey was well known for, to put it lightly, and please excuse my French, an asshole. This guy was too young to even be on the track. His bones weren’t even fully formed, nor able to withstand the pressure. He wiped out on a mud track a year ago, and knocked his jockey out. If they would have given him more time, and switched Jockey’s, he probably would have had a successful racing career.”
“I take it he doesn’t trust humans very well because of that? I mean, I sure as hell wouldn’t.”
“He’s incredibly weary of men especially. It’s really unfortunate because I know underneath all his meanness, there’s a really good horse. I’ve just been trying to chip away at his rough exterior, bit by bit. He threw me off earlier this morning, but it was my fault. Lost my footing in the stirrup and he flipped.”
“Jesus, are you alright?”
“Me? Oh, yeah I'm good. I’ve experienced a lot of falls in my life. Just comes with the job honestly.”
“Just about how many times have you fallen off? If ya don’t mind me askin’ that is.”
“Oh gosh, uhhh I'm not sure if I can count them on both hands. At least 20. Maybe a little less than 50. It happens but the main thing is, I've gotten back on everytime.”
“Woah, you’ve fallen off that many times and you aren’t scared or anything? Okay, my dad was totally right, you are so cool!”
Now you were actually feeling flustered, and Joel might have been as well but you couldn’t exactly tell. “I was definitely scared the first few times and I was afraid to get back on, but I pushed through it. What’s this about me being totally cool? Your dad is right on the money with that one, I am the coolest.”
Joel cleared his throat a little while he rubbed the back of his neck.
“Alright, I will admit that I told Sarah you were cool. I mean, you left an impression on me after our phone call, and you know so much about horses so yeah, I’d say you’re pretty cool.”
Sarah gave her dad a funny look then, only one that he could see.
“Is Javi G related to Javi P?” She asked, walking up to the other chestnut thoroughbred and he had lowered his head down towards her, brushing his soft, velvet nose against her palm.
“Yep, they’re brothers with totally opposite personalities. Javi G was let go because he was deemed to be too “sweet” for racing. He’s honestly a huge goober. If you give him kisses, he gives them right back.”
Sarah had given his nose a quick peck and he returned it against her palm, licking her hand.
“See? Told ya, he gives them right back!”
Sarah giggled as he licked her palm. “That tickles!” She wiped her wet palm on the side of her jeans. “I think I like him the most so far! Or Frankie, he was very sweet.”
“I think Whiskey is my favorite so far. I’m Jealous of how fantastic his hair looks.”
“Dad, it's not his hair, it's his mane!”
Joel held his hands up in defense with a small grin on his lips.
“Ohh, my bad for not gettin’ the term correct, my deepest apologies!”
“Yeah, Joel! Get with the program!” You chimed, your tone light and playful as you stopped at the last stall. Ezra was already nuzzling his nose into your shoulder, giving you an affectionate push.
“Oh, wow. He’s so pretty! It looks like he has a heart on his head, you see that dad?” Sarah pointed to the heart shaped star on Ezra’s forehead.
“Oh, yeah he does! Recognize him from the photo on the website.” ‘Yeah, the one that you have been staring at for the past 24 hours, Miller.’ He thought to himself.
“This is my boy, Ezra. He’s a 16 hand high Hanoverian and he was making it big in the hunter jumper world for a few years. He used to compete all through the country and was well on his way to competing in Europe.” You gave him a pat on his neck, pulled out the other half of the carrot and fed it to him. “Sometimes horses give you signs that they’re tired, that they don’t want to work anymore. Ezra was giving all those signs and his owner refused to see them until it was pretty much too late. He passed out during a show from exhaustion and being overworked. Now, he gets to live comfortably and he enjoys being ridden again.”
Joel could tell how much these horses truly meant to you, just by the way you spoke about all of them. He admired your passion for giving them a second chance at life. This just confirmed to him that he definitely would be seeing a lot more of you.
After the tour, Joel felt comfortable leaving Sarah to spend some time with Ezra while you and him talked over the logistics.
“I gotta say, you really sold this place for me darlin’ and I think Sarah would be absolutely lucky to be trained under you. Y’know I'm usually super critical over these things, for obvious reasons, but I trust you already and I know she’s in good hands.”
You were in disbelief as you walked alongside him.
“Really? Well, I gotta say, that's a relief. I got a little worried that maybe I was taking it too far with telling you guys about each of the horses stories but honestly, it's necessary. I can’t tell you how many potential clients have rolled through here and lasted maybe a day before switching to a hunter jumper barn. So I truly appreciate you saying that. I think Sarah is going to love it here, and I would be more than happy to be her instructor.”
“Honestly? I’m just relieved you didn’t try and sugar coat anythin’ I appreciate the fact that you didn’t try to make yourself, or this place sound like somethin’ it's not. If that makes any sense? You’re just, uh–very personable? I apologize if i’m oversteppin’ with ya darlin’ I don’t mean to ramble.”
You laughed as you looked over at him and nodded. “I totally understand what you’re trying to get at Joel. So basically, I’m not a snobby asshole that’s just in it for the money?”
“Well, that is one way to put it. I could also tell by your shirt that you weren’t gonna be the prissy type. Can’t stand those kinda girls honestly. You’re definitely in it for the horses, and the experience.”
You were feeling flustered by this man’s words, and there was no way you could hide it. “What about the shirt you gave me away? C’mon, I'm curious to know what your first impression of me really was.”
“Oh, I don’t know. Maybe it was the two X-Wings on your shirt? Just a simple observation. Gotta ask, what’s your favorite of the franchise thus far?”
“Damn X-Wings giving away all my deepest, darkest secrets. Oh man, probably the Empire Strikes back or Return of the Jedi. The new episodes have potential though. I do like the Pod racing in The Phantom Menace.”
“You walked right on into that one darlin,’ and those are pretty solid answers. Me personally? I like the Empire Strikes Back the most. Although, they’re all good.”
“I think I respect you just a tad bit more than I already did, Joel Miller.”
“Well, I must be doin’ somethin’ right huh?”
Oh, he has no idea.
“Anyway, let’s get you situated with the paperwork and figure out a good lesson schedule?”
Joel nodded and you left his side to go and grab the paper work, waiver and other forms along with a pen and after he signed everything, you went and retrieved Sarah, who was still loving on Ezra.
You stood just outside the door of the main building, waving to Joel and Sarah as he pulled out of the parking spot.
“Well, kiddo. Your first lesson this Saturday! Signed the paperwork and everything. You excited?”
Sarah looked over at her dad with a big smile as she buckled her seatbelt. “You like her, don’t you?”
Joel stumbled over his words as he looked over at his kid momentarily.
“Now what would make ya think that? Wait, was it that obvious? Shoot! You were not supposed to hear me say that. I don’t like your riding instructor sweet pea. I just think she is a cool person ,and she definitely knows her horse stuff.”
“I knew it! You do like her! Dad, you are terrible at making things not obvious! She’s like super pretty so I totally get it! I am going to tell uncle Tommy that you have a crush!” She giggled.
“Sarah–honey, are you feelin alright? The sun isn’t gettin’ to ya is it?” He looked absolutely mortified when she said that she was going to tell his brother. “Absolutely not, you do not speak of this to uncle Tommy, ever! I ain’t got a silly little crush, kiddo. Don’t be ridiculous.”
“Okay, okay. I won’t say anything to uncle Tommy. I pinky promise! You do have a crush though dad. It’s okay, your secret is safe with me!” She held her pinky out to him.
“I ain’t got a crush. Silly talk, sweet pea. That’s all I'm hearin’ right now.” He linked his pinky with hers.
Alright, so Joel maybe had a teeny tiny crush on his daughter’s horseback riding instructor. Just a small innocent crush that would never turn into anything..right?

Tumblr media
Splinter (SORRY HIS IS SHORT)
- Splinter is such a girl dad and always wanted a daughter. you cannot convince me otherwise.
- You best believe if you were to ever start dating someone ALL of them are interrogating your partner. All of em: the boys, Splinter, and April.
- You absolutely have special privileges w/ Splinter. like he is letting you get away with things your brothers don’t and giving you almost anything you ask for
- ^ bc like…you’re just a little girl. his little girl. his baby. LIKE COME ON NOW-
- he truly believes you could NEVER do anything wrong
Raph
- they are all hella protective over you but he is the MOST protective over you (he’s the oldest, you’re the youngest; it just makes sense, ok?)
- when training, he really holds back and goes easy on you even if he doesn’t need to bc he couldn’t imagine hurting you in any way. to him you are precious and fragile
- iffy about letting you go on missions and patrols even if you’re absolutely ready
- ^ it’s not that he doesn’t believe in you, he’s just worried about what could happen
- Carries you :D
- Lectures you but just because he cares and he makes sure you know that he isn’t trying to be mean
- ^ apologizes profusely if his temper does get the best of him
- Yells at Leo for messing with you
- Anytime you’re in battle, he tries his best to keep you behind him if he can
- Heaven forbid you like Ms.Cuddles show
- He absolutely cannot say no to you like it just physically pains him
- Since Raph’s the oldest, he TRIES (key word TRIES) to handle all the important *cough* talks (puberty, s3x, all that fun growing up stuff) but he struggles 😭😭😭 ends up asking April or Donnie to handle it (but shouldn’t Splinter really be handling that???)
- dotes on you like you’re the cutest thing he’s ever seen
- reminds you all the time that he’s proud of you
Leo
- he tries SO hard to be the “cool” brother
- will always claim and brag that he’s your “favorite,” regardless of its true or not
- teases the shit out of you all the damn time like I wouldn’t blame you if you socked him in the throat
- but he just picks on you bc he loves you
-^ and while this is true, he would NEVER let anyone besides him and your brother make fun of you in any way
- (Almost) always has faith in you. he understands what it’s like to feel like no one trusts you and he doesn’t want you to feel that way
- Listens to all the drama and hot gossip and agrees w/ you on everything. If you’re beefing with someone, SO IS HE.
- ^ that bitch Chloe who told you your shirt was ugly is 13. So what? He doesn’t gaf they are BEEFING
- teaching you things he probably shouldn’t be- NOT IN LIKE A WEIRD WAY, but like how to get away with shit and be sneaky and stuff
- there for you if you need a shoulder to cry on. might not be able to give the best advice depending on your problems, but he will hold you and let you cry if that’s what you need
- calls you ‘sis’
- not the best influence 😭
- If you confide in him secrets you haven’t told your other brothers he is weeping tears of joy that you trust him like that
- also dotes on you
- competitive as hell when you play any kind of game
Donnie
- if you’re a human, he’s (begrudgingly) driving you and picking you up from school. I mean, what kind of brother would he be if he let you walk the dangerous streets of NYC by yourself?
- fr though imagine your classmates faces when you pull up in that big ass turtle tank
- Regarding school, the best to go to for help with homework/schoolwork
- ^ and listen, he tries his best to be patient with you. that’s all I’m gonna say 😭
- Donnie doesn’t really treat you much differently than he treats your brothers, just a little bit more careful and EVER SO SLIGHTLY more patient with you
- will let you hang out in his lab while he works on something if you swear up and down on Splinter’s life you will not break, touch, or LOOK at anything
- If you want an honest, unbiased opinion he’s the brother to go to
- Ole Donatello is not the best at showing he really cares for you and loves you with words and actions, but just know he does and would never let anything happen to you
- Carries you on his back like he does with April
- Lectures you as well but just because he wants you to be safe and not do dumb shit (not as gentle as Raph tho)
- If Raph can’t, he’s the one protecting you and shielding you during missions
Mikey
- actually the “cool” brother (Leo remains hella jealous)
- since you two are the youngest I could imagine you’d be pretty close
- always wants to try new things with you: snacks, video games, recipes, pretty much down for anything
- invites you to watch YouTube with him if you’re bored
- If you’re a turtle mutant like them, he’ll ask to paint or add stickers to your shell and plastron
- cooks for you when you’re hungry
- if you attend, he makes sure you always have an after school snack + packs your lunch
- if you’re ok with it he is super affectionate with you
- Lets you vent anytime you need to about anything! He’s always going to be there for you and is the most compassionate of your brothers.
- You, Leo, and him doing stupid tiktok challenges and trends at 2am
- Believes in you no matter what. So, so supportive of any dreams or goals that you have. :)
- hypes you up
- beware of Dr.Delicate Touch and Dr.Feelings
- reminds you often that it’s ok to be emotional and vulnerable
April
- of course she’s best friends w/ all of you but you guys have special sleepovers where it’s just the two of you (which your brothers probably crash if they’re bored)
- ^ obvi calls them “girls night”
- (Varies depending on your species(?)) the one to be the most helpful when you’re body starts changing and you go through puberty because let’s be real your brothers don’t know shit (except Donnie MIGHT know a little bit)
- you can always trust her with secrets or just things you don’t want your brothers to know, like you can talk to her about ANYTHING
- let’s you complain and rant about the dumbass shit your brothers do ALL THE TIME (NOT IN A MEAN WAY I LOVE THEM I SWEAR 😭)
- ^ lmao she totally joins in and agrees w/ everything you say about them
- def let’s you borrow from her if you want (accessories, clothes, jewelry)
- GOING ON ADVENTURES TOGETHER
- Mayhem LOVES you

A Nice Dinner
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Word Count: 2.4k
Summary: your niece Fiona is in town and asks to go to dinner with you, Abby, and your daughter Hailey, you agree of course. You wait for Abby, your wife, to return home from work before you head out. Dinner doesn't go super well but after some reassurance from Abby you feel better.
Cw: meltdown, stress, crying, teensiest fight between reader and Abby
A/n: ok so this won the poll i posted yesterday so here yall go!! Don't even worry bc I will still be posting Our Little Secret pt. 2, I just need to finish writing it lmao. Also PLEASE lmk if you guys like this type of wife/mama Abby bc I'd definitely write more of it if u do! And feel free to leave requests as well:)))
Your cheeks hurt from smiling so much. You were sat at the kitchen table with your daughter Hailey, she was in her highchair smiling from ear to ear as you fed her. Sure she could eat her own food seeing as she was three years old, but she was just so cute when she let you do it. It was her last bite as your phone began to rang.
You gave her a loving pat on the head before going to place the bowl and spoon into the sink then pick up the phone.
"Hi." You greeted.
"Hey! So you know how we're staying at thst place this week? Well it's only like a half hour drive from where you guys are." Your niece Fiona answered.
"Oh really? That's awesome! We're yall thinking of coming down here?" You asked, Fiona and her parents were on vacation this week.
"Well actually my parents were going on a date for their anniversary and I was wondering if I could come and maybe we could all go to dinner? I'd love to see Hailey!" She exclaimed.
Fiona had always adored Hailey, she even babysat a few times when needed. Well that was back when you lived nearby. Either way, of course you wanted to go out to dinner with her.
"That'd be just great Fiona. I'm sure Hailey would love to see you too, so will Abby and I." Abby was your wife, who was currently at work.
You and Fiona worked out the rest of the details as you texted Abby about the plans. She was on board and seemed pretty excited as well. You'd offered to pick Fona up but she said she would be fine since she had her own car. Once you got off the phone you took Hailey from her high chair and brought her into the living room. You sat and watched her favorite cartoons while you waited for Abby to get home.
♡♡♡
After pretty much doing nothing but watching cartoons and snuggling Hailey, you deemed it was time to get ready. Abby would be home in just under an hour and Hailey was still in her pajamas, as were you. So you'd taken her upstairs to her room first, so she could pick something to wear.
You were pleasantly surprised when she chose something that actually matched. A pair of jean shorts with her favorite t-shirt which was green with a dinosaur on the front. After a quick diaper change you got her dressed then told her to go in the playroom while you got ready. She ran to play with her dollhouse and you went into you and Abbys shared bedroom.
It's not like you were going anywhere super fancy, so you chose something simple. A pair of biker shorts and an older band tee that used to belong to your older brother. Which you found fitting since Fiona was his daughter. You brushed out your hair then put it up in a ponytail, making sure to take out some wispies on either side of your face.
Now that you were all read you went to see what Hailey was up to in the playroom. Thankfully she hadn't made a huge mess, there were just a few barbies lying around which didn't bother you. You motioned for her to come follow you downstairs where you would wait for Abby to arrive home.
A little while later and she was walking through the front door, still in scrubs and her bag thrown over her shoulder. Hailey ran to greet Abby immediately, wrapping her arms around her leg as she shouted out 'mama' in the most adorable way. Abby chuckled, patting her head then smiling st you as you came to give her a hug.
"How was work?" You asked as you pulled away, Abby kept a hand on your waist.
"Fine, gotta go change. When's Fiona getting here?" Abby asked as she gently removed Hailey from her leg and started walking upstairs.
"Oh probably like a half hour or so." You answered, leaving her to get ready alone.
You'd come to learn that Abby enjoyed some alone time when she got home from work. Even if it was just five minutes, she needed to be by herself for a little. So when Hailey tried to run after her, you picked her up and went to continue cartoons instead.
Abby was coming back downstairs in no time, now dressed in a comfortable pair of grey sweats and a black hoodie. She came to join you and Hailey on the couch, holding an arm around you as she pulled you into her side and Hailey laid across both of your laps. A smile formed on Abbys lips as she brushed her hair back out of her face.
It wasn't long before there was a knock at the door, you left Hailey to lay in Abbys arms as you went to answer it. As you opened the door you noticed your niece had gotten taller, and with a smile you pulled her in for a quick hug before closing the door. Immediately she made her way to sit beside Abby on the couch and scoop Hailey up into her arms.
"Hi Fiona." Abby greeted with a chuckle at her affection for Hailey.
"Hey!" Fiona replied.
You smiled as Abby made her way over to where you stood in the living room, pressing her chest against your back as she wrapped her arms around your waist. Fiona was so involved in Hailey she hadn't even noticed as you wo shared a quick kiss. You let your hands come to rest on Abbys before speaking.
"Well we can probably all fit in Abbys truck, we're ready whenever you are Fi." You shrugged, only now did Fiona look your way.
"Oh yeah, let's go." She smiled, carrying Hailey out to the car as she played with her hair.
Since you trusted her enough, you and Abby let Fiona get Hailey buckled up before you drove to dinner. Abby let you drive, which was rare and usually meant she had to just be exhausted. You understood though, work usually had her pretty beat by the end of the day.
The car was silent for the first minute or so, but it soon filled with the light hum of the radio. Then also the conversing between you, Abby, and Fiona. The occasional babble from Hailey would make its way in there as well. You guys didn't chat about much, just caught up really.
You arrived at the restaurant and exited the car. Abby got Hailey from her carseat, letting her walk on her tiny sandal-clad feet up to the door. Then once she entered she brought her up into her arms, knowing she'd try and run off and probably get herself into some trouble.
"Hi, three and a high chair please." Abby greeted the hostess.
You admired the way she would always lead when you went out, take control. It was nice to know you had someone to take care of you like that. The hostess grabbed three regular menus and one kids then took you back to your table. It was in a more secluded corner of the restaurant, which wad nice.
You and Abby sat beside each other one one side and Fiona sat across from you two. Your waitress came over in no time to ask what you wanted to drink. You ordered your usual favorite soda, and Abby looked at you for approval before getting a strawberry daiquiri. She didn't drink often, but every once in a while didn't hurt anyone. You nodded and waited as Fiona got a pink lemonade.
After a few minutes she brought your drinks out and said she'd be back in a few to take your orders. You'd already opened your menu, and were still looking. Fiona seemed to be set on what she'd be getting since she was more focused on helping Hailey draw on her kids menu.
"Anything look good?" You asked Abby, bumping your shoulder into her own lightly.
"Uh I kinda wanted to try this but I definitely couldn't finish it by myself." She pointed out the item on the menu she was speaking about, taking a sip of her drink.
"That's definitely looks good, we could just share it if you want." You offered and she nodded.
"Hailey? What do you want honey?" You asked before reading off her options.
She'd choose the third item you listed and you'd nod, giving her the menu back so she could continue to draw with Fionas help. You brought an arm around Abbys shoulders, leaning into her lightly.
"So, Fiona, you know I have to ask. Do you have a boyfriend?" You asked your niece and she blushed a deep red.
"Uh, actually no." She answered with a giggle.
"Oh? Really." Your voice picked up an octave, her physical response differing drastically from her verbal response.
"Well actually I have a girlfriend.." She smiled as her voice got lower.
"What! No way!" Abby exclaimed, unfortunately a bit too loud.
Hailey had a reaction to this of course, she hated when people were loud. Immediately she burst into tears and started to thrust around in her high chair. You sighed, removing your arm from around Abby and now pulling Hailey from her chair to sit on your lap. You bounced her lightly on your keg as you shushed her, rubbing at her arms soothingly.
"Ah- sorry. I'm sorry." Abby apologized, she just felt terrible.
"Hey, it's fine. She'll calm down in a minute." You reassured, but there was a harshness in your tone anyways because you were just frustrated.
Instead of wasting more time with another sorry, Abby instead asked Fiona all about her girlfriend. She was very excited to tell Abby all about her, and you listened too of course. She sounded very sweet and Fiona was certainly happy.
Haileys cries had stopped by now and she sat peacefully in your lap, sucking at her thumb. Your waitress came back now to take your orders, you looked to Abby and let her order for you two while you'd order for Hailey. Fiona collected your three menus and handed them off with a smile and a thank you.
You picked up your soda to take a sip when a waiter was just making his way past your table. Due to the close proximity of his table to yours, he bumped into your elbow and caused you to spill all over your shirt. And Hailey broke out in tears once again. You sighed and let out a groan of frustration, slamming your glass back down on the table.
Hailey began to thrash around in your arms, which had you looking to Abby with tears brimming your eyes. A look that merely said you were tired and needed some help.
"Here, I've got her. Go ahead and wash up in the bathroom." She took Hailey in her arms, shushing her then making silly faces so she'd giggle instead of cry.
You paid them no attention as you were already on your way to the bathroom. Once you got in there you couldn't help it as your tears spilled over. You tried to wipe them away, but there was a consistent stream. Thankfully it was one of those bathrooms where it was just made for one person, and you wasted no time in locking the door.
A small huff fell past your lips as you brought a wet paper towel to try and rid your shirt of the soda which was probably making it sticky. It was stained of course because that was just your luck. If things couldn't get any worse there was a knock at the door.
"What!" Your voice was angry.
"Hey, it's me. Come on open up." Abby spoke softly.
You sighed as you unlocked the door and let her in. Your tears continued to fall as you stood there embarrassed, the wet paper towel smooshed in your hand at your side. Abby tilted her head with a frown, bringing her hands to your shoulders.
"Baby. It's ok." She tried to reassure.
"But it's really not!" You shouted, you didn't want to yell at her but you were just so overwhelmed, "i-I just wanted to have a nice dinner! And now my shirts ruined, Hailey's already had two meltdowns tonight!" You struggled to speak through your sobs but you managed.
"Y/n, Hailey is fine. Besides can you even call those meltdowns? She just cried a bit that's all, and here you can wear my hoodie." Abby removed her hoodie to reveal a beige t shirt underneath.
You let out a small sigh, tossing the paper towel in the trash then removing your shirt before putting the hoodie on. It was too big, but extremely comfortable. And it smelled just like Abby which relaxed you a bit. Your face was still tear stained and red, even if you stopped crying.
Abby looked down at you, opening her arms and waiting as you leaned into her. You buried your face into her chest, wrapping your arms around her lower back as you let out a sigh of relief against her. She uses one hand to rub up and down your back, the other massaging your scalp. Your eyes fell shut for a moment as you felt calm for once that evening.
Abby let you stand there in her embrace for a few moments before separating from you just enough to meet your gaze. You smiled up at her, the way she brought her hands to either side of your face grounding you. She rubbed her thumbs across your cheek, placing a sweet kiss to your forehead before asking if you were ready to go back to the table. You just gave a simple nod and followed her as you walked back to the table hand in hand.
A feeling of adoration filled you as you saw Fiona playing peekaboo with Hailey back at the table. And Hailey, much to your surprise, was sat in her high chair like an angel. She was giggling at Fionas actions, which had a bubbly feeling forming in your stomach.
The rest of the evening went well, and you all enjoyed a wonderful meal together. Later you'd get back home and say your goodbyes to Fiona. Then you'd work on getting Hailey and yourself ready for bed.

idk if it'll sound weird but imagine abby and reader back from a party to her home, and they're just so tired in like 15 min they're gone sleeping deeply and just wake up the next morning with Jerry opening the door to warn her about something - he's super late to a meeting or something - and proceeds getting so embarrassed saying SORRY SORRY I'M OUT. Poor abby woke up from such a jumpscare and also self conscious from their snuggling position :( reader is just kinda laughing
no baby this is actually so cute, got me giggling n smiling like a fool
so in my mind, abby n her dad actually lived pretty close to her college town before she even went, and then when she started college he got her an apartment in the surrounding town just so she could experience living on her own n being closer to campus. so she spends most of her time in her own apartment but she also pops in with her dad all the time. like tonight.
u two were are a party n it was closer to their family home than it was to her apartment, so she told her dad ahead of time that she'd probably be sleeping there n he was like "awesome :D" bc he loves his daughter to bits <3
flash forward to u two stumbling into her house at like 1am n she's so eepy! she sleeby! she's tired as fuck! u two barely have time to change into pajamas (aka her giving u one of her giant sleep shirts from high school n her stripping to her bra n boxers) before crashing into bed. u two fall asleep spooning, but over the course of the night ur two shift n shimmy until ur practically on top of her, one thigh pulled up across her waist n ur head on her chest, her arm draped across ur back while the other holds ur thigh, one of ur hands on her chest (read: a titty) with the other on her shoulder.
thats the sight that jerry walks in on as he's frantically doing up his tie, having woken up late for a meeting with the hospital's board of directors n wanting to say hi to his daughter before he hauls ass.
"Goodmorning honey - OH shit, oh god, sorry-" as he walks in and immediately walks back out, accidentally slamming the door.
the second he walked in n got startled, Abby practically jumped out of bed, tightening her arm around u and then immediately letting go. tries to act like she didn't totally let out a lil yelp when she woke up but oh well. she's standing there in shock for a sec, yelling a quick goodmorning to her dad while he's still apologizing, before she lets her gaze drift down to u, still on her bed n looking up at her. ur holding ur laughter really poorly bc she looks to distraught n discombobulated, her hair a mess, crusties in her eyes, the whole package.
The moment you two make eye contact, she caves and starts whining about how embarrassing that was while sinking back onto the bed and making grabby hands at you, meanwhile ur laughing ur ass off n wrapping her up in a hug bc she's so fucking cute, especially when she's tired.
she is literally the cutest ever I need to baby her I need her to lay on my chest I need to play with her hair
