And it's just... The fact that both Fig and Ayda are extremely honest and emotional and loving and deeply insecure, but with Fig she believes she has to put on this cool untouchable demeanor because she doesn't think her honest self is worth loving. And she gets uncomfortable being vulnerable because it's letting that demeanor fall but she can't help herself because at her heart she has so much love to give and share. So Fig is constantly running away from her feelings but they're so huge they catch up every time.

Whereas with Ayda she doesn't have the first clue how to escape her feelings, she doesn't know how to be anything but honest, she doesn't express emotions in the typical way but she does express them because it doesn't occur to her to do anything else. And despite her being transactional in general, that's never a transaction because she doesn't expect people to care about her in return, she doesn't think she's special enough to warrant it. Still she wants people to know that she cares about them all the same.

So like, Fig is loud and energetic and always in disguise where Ayda is calm and analytical and never sure where she fits, but both of them carry this bone-deep desire to be recognized and loved for who they really are. And both of them carry a deep-rooted convinction that they can't be loved like that. And then together they prove each other wrong, by learning about and caring for each other. And it makes me cry
