ALL RIGHT let's talk about all of them! (i am tired and emotionally a wreck so this is going to not be very detailed)

willow. she has a few scars (her glasses have remained intact, i could NEVER), and she looks very suspicious and withdrawn, which is understandable considering her situation, but it's a total 180 from where she started.

amity: LMAO MY BABE AMITY LOOKING AT HER GIRLFRIEND'S MOM LIKE SHE NEEDS TO IMPRESS THIS WOMAN OR ELSE

luz: oh, goodness. luz. my poor, sweet, luz. she had to leave behind her pseudo brother in everything but blood (haha... get it?) and her mentor-practically-parent-figure and she's not sure if they'll be alive or dead. and to top that off, she's got to explain all of this to her mother, reliving it all again, and you can practically see the emotional toll on her face. i love her so much, i hope she'll get some comfort :(

gus: he looks withdrawn and shy but i imagine he's going to have quite a bit of fun with his time in the human world, so that's one comfort, at least.

and hunter and gus being bros. i'm going to find a reblog a post describing hunter's emotional wreckage this episode because i am tired and need to cry.

ok i wanted to talk abt the collector a little bit.

clearly, as we can see, this is not a witch trying to play big. this isn't even belos levels of antagonism. the collector is an incredibly ancient character- older than the titan, even, because they're "the great hunter," implying that they've killed hundreds of titans before this titan.

this day of unity.... we don't know what belos is trying to do. is he trying to communicate with the titan? is he trying to bring the collector to life so he can find the titan and therefore gain more power and eradicate witchkind?

we know this draining spell has to do something with the nine coven witches:

the star the colored arrows are pointing to are where i assume the nine witches are going to stand, and the crowds below them are their respective covens (yellow = potions, blue = illusions, green = plant, etc), and the combined power from all of those covens that feeds into the Most Powerful witch/warlock of that coven that feeds into one big giant powerful ray that hits the eclipse? the moon is very clearly the collector's symbol, so the eclipse has to be a form of them.

this power the collector gets either a) has something to do with the titan, because this takes place at the head of the titan, or b) has something to do with the portal to the human realm, because we can see the words "door is being MOVED!" written on the side.

also, how exactly did the collector convince all those witches to join him against titans? did they use tactics like belos?

oh, yeah- the connection that king and the collector supposedly made??? what does that mean??? will king heighten the collector's power after the day of unity (him BEING A TITAN !!!!)???

all right so today an anon sent me an ask about whether the hunter-is-a-grimwalker theory could be a red herring (and i deleted it accidentally i’m so sorry) so here’s a post just explaining my personal ideas for this!

i don’t think it’s a red herring, personally, because as the very lovely @cecelovesrats​ said, the similarities between hunter’s side profile and the side profile from belos’s grimwalker book are eerily alike:

the hooked nose, the eye color, it all matches up! adding in philip’s desire to learn more magic, this works perfectly, as i suspect that the level of magic required to make a grimwalker is extremely high, looking at the ingredients:

-a galdorstone: used to create the heart as well as the power of a grimwalker. hunter’s been shown to not have any regular magical capabilities (ie not having a bilesack), but he can do that cool magic glitchy thing which feeds into the whole power thing:

(side note: he has a rainbow thing that appears before he glitches out)

-palistrom wood: presumably for nails, hair, etc. it’s blue, as shown:

but i think that since it changes color based on a witch/warlock’s personal animal, it could’ve changed color to match the hope philip had that hunter would look like his brother. they do have the same hair color, so it’s highly possible that this could’ve happened!

i’m not really sure about the stonesleeper lungs or selkidomus scales, but they could’ve just been used to “build” the rest of a grimwalker’s body. oh, also, i’m pretty sure bone of ortez has to do something with king- maybe that’s why he’s in the finale, since bone of ortez is capitalized and we see luz in king’s home in the trailer!

cece also pointed out that hunter looks extremely similar to philip’s brother, and he has a palisman like flapjack!

cardinals, throughout history, have been used to represent loyalty and the importance of family and friendship! if the flapjack is the same cardinal philip’s brother had, this could be an extremely big clue as to if hunter is a grimwalker or not. (thank you cece for all of this :>)

now, if hunter isn’t a grimwalker, then what else could he be? cece suggests that he could possibly be a descendant of the wittebane brothers (would explain how hunter doesn’t have a bilesack, since his ancestry would be human and witch, and belos’ story about him finding hunter might be true!), and i’m inclined to agree.

hey so i was doing a little research and i noticed something interesting abt king tides:

so. what does this signify? well. when the most significant celestial bodies in our solar system come together to form a tidal effect (and for my point, i'm going to go with the idea that a tidal effect is like a ripple effect but quicker and on a larger scale), this tied in with the fact that it's:

a) our season finale

b) the gif rebecca rose made, which is probably just a tear but could also be a reference to water

i'm willing to bet that this is going to end with a cliffhanger, and also it's going to have Great Emotional Impact not just with the fans, but also within the series.

and another thing. the way this is supposed to "raise the tidal system"? this could also be a metaphor for king bringing more power to the day of unity- like, say, belos capturing him and honing his essence to boost the power from the covens.

all very mysterious... i just really hope king doesn't get hurt, my poor child :-(
