Demons and fallen angels

CW: There will bre mentions of cannibalism. Demons be evil. They be eating people. You’ve been warned.

While the terms demon and fallen angel (or just fallen) might be used interchangeably, they mean two very different things.

Fallen angels = something that was an angel before, and now it’s not. At full power they can smoke even the most powerful demons, and are generally more respected and with a higher rank in the hierarchy. The always have wings and can fly. (Note: Belial, despite being a fallen angel, doesn’t have any wings or horns. But he’s special, and we will talk about him too)

Demons = something that was never an angel. They’re a bit weaker that fallen angels, even if the oldest and more experienced ones can become quite powerful. They never have wings, and animal feature (tail, claws etc.) are also optional. Unlike angels, they can be born and not just created.

Ascended demon = a demon turned into an angel. We’ll get to that.

And now the Heavy Lore Trademark

What happens when an angel falls Okay so. Angels are vessels for the Word of God, beings made of pure divine energy. They’re immortal and don’t need to eat to survive. Once an angel falls, their connection to God is severed. This means they don’t have a purpose and that they’re not sustained by divine energy anymore. Unlike angels, fallens can bleed, and get injured by human means. They also need to take care of their now physical body! Azazel needs to eat to survive! Sure, he might go longer than a human without water or food, but he can still starve and that’s not pretty. AND, unlike angels, a fallen might choose to create, and find a new purpose in their life. It’s usually for evil tho. Sorry.

How a demon is born When a fallen daddy and a fallen mommy love eachother very much, the result is a demon.This unions are rarely out of love, and more just for convenience, or to grow the numbers of Satan’s army. Unions between humans and fallen angels also produce demons. There are, however, different ways to get a demon: the more a human sins in life (and doesn’t repent) the more this will weigh on their soul. Once a corrupt soul gets to hell, their sins coagulate into some sort of goop that gets scraped off and molded into a demon. This type of demon is incredibly low in rank (but can grow to become powerful). Humans can also turn into demons as a result of a deal with the Devil, or if they were very very terrible people. Humans-turned-demons are also very low in the hierarchy, and advancing in ranks for them is incredibly difficult. While a human-turned-demon can also ascend, they do not become an angel, and just get blasted into heaven.

Speaking of ranks: the demon hierarchy Unlike Heaven, where angels are divided into neat little categories, Hell is a hot mess (pun intended). While a Cherub understands that a Seraph is of a higher rank, and would respect them for it, demons are always at eachother’s throat, trying to one up eachother and advance in rank. A Duke might respect a King to their faces, but you can be sure they’re definitely planning something behind their back. Demons and fallens killing eachother is incredibly common too, and Hell is usually plagued by civil wars between this and that demon.True crabs in a bucket mentality. The only one who gets a modicum of respect is Satan/Lucifer, who’s extra careful in running the show and ruling over Hell with an iron fist.

Demon magic: how? Angel magic = supplied by God, and therefore incredibly powerful and without limit. All angels can tap into this limitless reservoir of self-sustaining godly energy to fuel their heavenly fire. Sure, no angel is as powerful as god (except maybe Apollyon but shhhh) but it’s still leagues ahead of a demon.

Fallen angel magic = once an angel falls, their connection to God (and His magic) is severed. HOWEVER, since they once were angels, the touch of divinity is still present in them, and can power an incredibly weak version of their magic. The heavenly fire turn into brimstone but without fuel, it can’t hold a candle to an angel’s powers. This is where humans (and their souls) come in. Human souls (created directly by God!) are an incredible source of energy, and they’re harvested once a contract or a deal is fulfilled. The fallen consumes the human soul, which can power their magic for a really long time. Human bodies are also harvested sometimes, and... eaten. To regain energy. This is also the reason for blood sacrifices and offerings during a summoning ritual! The demon/fallen angel needs a lot of energy to reach the human plane, so they take those offerings to sustain themselves. This is also why Azazel’s brimstone is so weak compared to others: he’s never made a deal with a human and refuses to consume any human soul.

Demon magic = kinda works like fallen angel magic (with human souls as fuel etc.) BUT unlike angel magic, it has a limit. Once the power of a human soul has run out, a demon is left basically defensless. They can fuel their magic with their own flesh and blood, but this takes an immense toll on the demon’s health, and is usually a last resort in truly dire situations. Note: even the weakest demon is leagues more powerful than the strongest human. You need an angel to fight a demon!

A little tangent about demon possession Both fallen angels and demons can possess human bodies BUT in different ways. Demons physically get inside the human body. This requires energy that can be supplied by the human soul. Once the soul is fully consumed and its power runs out, the human dies. Fallens can pilot a human body from afar, like a puppetteer. Their real body stays in Hell, safe from the dangers of the human world, and they maintain consciousness over both bodies. Very powerful fallens (Semjaza, Satan) can also possess multiple people at once.

Ascended demons Once they repent and seek guidance, a demon can ascend and become an angel. Their brimstone gets burned and replaced with heavenly fire, and the connection to God now sustains them, so they don’t need to eat or consume human souls. They also get a nice flaming halo and a pair of wings that enables them to fly. An ascended demon is, for all intents and purposes, an angel. Once they ascend they usually get a new name, and they might get an angel assigned to them as a sort of mentor, so they can acclimate to Heaven better.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Demons and fallen angels are not the same as monsters. We’ll also get to that. Lilith is a monster, not a demon. We will talk at length about her too.

Deity Fusions And Syncretism Within The Daemonic Pantheon: A Mini Post

I only just remembered to make a post about this now (ADHD sucks sometimes lol), so here I am finally getting around to writing about it.

It was only a few months ago that I pondered the phenomenon of the syncretic fusions of daemons. Prior to this, I surprisingly hadn't even considered it at all.

If you're a Pagan, you may be familiar with the concept of syncretism; Linking or combining different deities into the identity or "body" of a singular entity. This was a very common practice in ancient Egyptian religion, with the most notable example being Amun-Ra, a fusion of the two gods Amun and Ra.

When it comes to practices such as Daemonolatry and Theistic Satanism/Luciferianism, I definitely feel that this phenomenon can apply to the daemonic divine too. For example, there are some practitioners who believe Lucifer and Satan to be separate entities distinct from one another, whereas others may believe they are one and the same. Everyone has their own personal gnosis, after all.

But what about the possibility of Lucifer and Satan being two distinct entities that have the ability to merge into one singular entity? They would syncretise to become Lucifer-Satan (a.k.a. Satan-Lucifer). Or if you view them to be a singular being, perhaps Lucifer and Satan are just the names for two sides of the same coin; Maybe as a daemon of two-fold aspects, perhaps.

Personally, I believe that all daemons can either stand alone as an individual entity, or can be fused with one another to become a syncretised singular daemon.

The term "Satan" was originally a title that simply meant "accuser" or "adversary". Overtime however, the word "Satan" eventually became a personification and/or daemon known as "The Devil".

The title "Satan" has also been applied to several other daemons, such as: Lucifer, Belzebuth, Belial, Mephistopheles, Azazel, Asmodeus, Leviathan, Abaddon, Behemoth, and Baphomet. Given that the title "Satan" can refer to many daemons, it's not impossible for them to fuse and manifest as a unified entity, whether it's of your UPG, or if it's simply how they want to appear to you.

I experienced Satan-Baphomet as a fusion daemon at the beginning of my Daemonolatry path, because my UPG at the time was that they were synonymous with one another, and simply just two different names for the same entity. Overtime my gnosis changed, and I began to view them as two distinct entities; And thus, they began to appear to me as such.

Idk I just thought this would be an interesting thing to write about lol. I hope you find this as interesting as I do! 💜

Disclaimer: I am making no claim to Capital T Truth here. This is about MY PERSONAL PRACTICE. This post has been edited from it's original version and is a very simplistic version of a complex spirituality.

I believe that Satan originated as a spirit/demon in early Judaism called ha-Satan ("the Adversary") that was an occasional ally of the Jewish and/or Christian God, but more often was (as the name indicates), an adversary. Satan gained a reputation as an evil and powerful demon over time and with the influence of the Christian church.

Satan is a god that is made powerful and fearful both by his own worshippers (theistic Satanists) and the fear and recognition of Christians. Satan is the god of rebellion against authority, particularly the harmful and destructive cultural and religious authority that the Christian God and Christians attempt to place over all of humanity. Many other spirits or beings have become connected to the name Satan and can be included as "Satans" or having become an aspect of the being called Satan. For me, these include Azazel, Leviathan, Belial, Asmodeus, and Lucifer. These each have powers, personalities, and domains of their own, but are all included when I call upon the god called Satan.

SATAN - opposition, rebellion, justice, transgressions against oppressive moral codes or "sins" in service of being one's true self, pride, lust, greed, death, trials, hostility, accusations, temptation, secrets, forbidden knowledge, rejection of authoritarianism, fire, power, psychological dominance, punishment, challenging dogma, magic, rejection of Christianity

Azazel - disorder, impurity, all that is "sent away" from people who consider themselves holy or pure, questioning authority, base drives and desires considered to be sins, corruption, impurity, disobedience, temptation, wickedness, indulgence

Lucifer - pride and enlightenment, light that emerges from darkness, flashes of inspiration from the darkness of a person's mind, change, rebirth, innovation, logic, truth, knowledge, wisdom, revolution, creation, destruction, enlightenment, freedom, the arts, and the Morning Star

Belial - independence and self-sufficiency, instinct, steadiness, patience, foresight, perseverance, prudence, protection, discipline, responsibility, restraint, relentlessness, fairness, balance, justice, gravity, death

Leviathan - primal secrecy, chaos, the element of water, the direction of the west, and the chalice during ritual, the subconscious, dreams, loneliness, isolation, solitude, despair, mystery, darkness, the cold void of space, the unknowable depths of the sea

Azazel

The name Azazel only occurs one time in all of the canonical Bible, in Leviticus 16:8-10. As the Catholic Encyclopedia records, this passage explains the ceremony that the Jewish people should perform as part of Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement.

As a personification of evil, the Jewish Encyclopedia refers to Azazel as "in some degree a preparation" for the idea of Satan. The figure of Azazel is likely pre-Israelite in origin and is probably closely tied to a communal fear for the mountainous desert region that he came to personify.

According to the Nahmanides the scapegoat rite is a symbolic expression of the idea that the people's sins and their evil consequences were to be sent back to the spirit of desolation and ruin, the source of all impurity.

1 Enoch portrays Azazel as responsible for teaching people to make weapons and cosmetics, for which he was cast out of heaven.

In the extra-canonical text the Apocalypse of Abraham (c.1st CE), Azazel appears as an unclean bird who came down upon the sacrifice which Abraham prepared. (This is in reference to Genesis 15:11: "Birds of prey came down on the carcasses, but Abram drove them away" [NIV]).

In the Apocalypse of Abraham, Azazel is described with his own Kavod (Magnificence), a term usually used for the Divine in apocalyptic literature, already indicating the devil as anti-thesis of God, with the devil's kingdom on earth and God's kingdom in heaven. Azazel is also identified with the serpent which tempted Eve.

In later lore, he is fallen and is punished by having his nose pierced.

The word "scapegoat" has developed to indicate a person who is blamed and punished for the actions of others.

Gadriel and Rameel

Some of the fallen angels that are given in 1 Enoch have other names, such as Rameel ('morning of God'), who becomes Azazel, and is also called Gadriel ('wall of God') in Chapter 68. (A source is not cited for this)

Gadreel (Hebrew: גדר האל, romanized: Gader ha-el, lit. 'Wall of God') is listed as one of the chiefs of the fallen Watchers. He is said to have been responsible for deceiving Eve. Schmidt lists the name as meaning 'the helper of God.'

Iblis

In Islamic lore, Azazel or Azazeel was the name of Iblis before he disobeyed God by not bowing to humans and was sent from the Earth.

Satan

Origen ("Contra Celsum," vi. 43) identifies Azazel with Satan.

Azaz, as in Azazel, means strength, so the name Azazel can refer to 'strength of God'. But the sense in which it is used most probably means 'impudent' (showing strength towards), which results in 'arrogant to God'. This is also a key point in modern thought that Azazel is Satan. Also important in this identification is the fact that the original name Rameel, is very similar in meaning to the word Lucifer ('Morning Star') which is a common Latin name of Satan in Christianity.

Originally, Azazel was one of heaven’s angels, a gloriously beautiful man with wings on his back.

Today, like many demons, Azazel is drawn with red skin, glowing yellow eyes, and a barbed tail. He may also be found wearing goat skulls or dressed in goat bones.

He is a shape-shifter and may appear in any form, including a winged angel.

The Pact Of Satan

Membership with most elite organizations or private societies usually require an initiation rite and/or formal membership document which is signed by the initiate. This tends to be true (though in varying forms) also with regard to Satanic organizations and “realms”.

Historically speaking, Black Arts practitioners seeking Satanic alliance would call up a demon, or Satan Himself, to make a Pact in exchange for power of various sorts instead of joining a “Satanic group”. Moreover, hundreds of years ago, such groups weren’t “open” or well-known, now were “Devil’s books” readily available to the general public through “retailers”, as any kind of “Satanic” worship was considered a crime punishable by death. Thank the Devil and Enlightenment for our freedom from some of “God’s” religio/social injustices; anyone can now enter into union with the Devil without being “completely” criminalized!

The Pact of Satan is synonymous with the Xian rites of baptism as a purification device, whereas the Xian baptism is performed to symbolically cleanse the initiate of “original sin”, the Pact of Satan represents the initiate’s willful rejection of the belief in the existence of deities, and a rejection of the widespread Xian doctrines of deceit.

Ultimately the pact serves as a greeting and acceptance into Satan’s world of Darkness.

Special note regarding solitary Satanists: making a pact with Satan is not necessary to

successfully practice the Black Arts. The Pact of Satan ritual is geared to individuals who prefer to further formalize their dedication in a group setting.

Requirements for performance The standard altar articles are employed in the customary manner in addition to the initiate’s Pact articles (which sit upon a small table to the immediate right of the altar) which consists of: one Satanagram pendant, a black robe, two Pact of Satan contracts (one for the initiate and one for the priest who represents the Devil’s emissary) and a pre-arranged Satanic (magickal) name chose by the initiate.

Attendance requirements: the priest performing the rite, an assistant and the initiate. The priest and his assistant are garbed in the customary manner. The initiate wears a silver (gray is acceptable) robe.

The Ritual Of Antichrist

THE SIGIL OF ANTICHRIST

If you truly have a Darkness to your soul then this ritual will be both inspiring and self-fulfilling. However, by the same token, if you’re attempting to become something you’re not, it can bring forth a demon of self-destruction. Therefore, know thyself!

The Main Focus of this Ritual

1 To purge any residual Xian influence from the essence of the celebrant’s Being.

2 To cause the essential Darkness of the celebrant to grow, thus expanding the Sixth Sense.

3 To strengthen the Will to oppose the Xian doctrines.

The ritual represents the Forces of Darkness and their emergence in the Age of Evil. During the ritual, both elements of Good and Evil are present. Evil is the most active force (excepting Nature) in existence on this planet. It is a force far superior and dominant in its nature than is goodness. This should be obvious to anyone who is aware of Man’s history and today’s socioreligious climate. Xianity always has been, and always will be, a static (and I hate to use the word) force. Just as Man is naturally endowed with Earthly instincts and desires so it is with Man’s natural predilection to evil (immorality). People as a whole, and as individuals, need to stop cheating themselves and learn to live not in the imaginary shadow of a non-existent god.

There is no time for guilt regarding sin; there is no time for paying the church for regular guilt inducement; there is no time for soiling one’s knees for the sake of appeasing an imaginary, antithetical god! There is no time for acknowledging a god who has never lived, but certainly has died!

My fellow Satanists, the Age of Evil has arrived. Our Age—for times and times eternally. Read and understand! Practice and BECOME!

Requirements for performance

With the exception of the burning charcoal contained in the brazier, the Ritual of Antichrist

begins in complete darkness, which symbolizes the arrival of the Age of Evil. The Age when the Wicked will plunge Man and the Earth into Eternal Darkness!

The Sigil of Antichrist represents the warrior spirit of the Beast 666. The cross, of course, is

associated with the Nazarene and his teachings; the inversion of such is the symbolic

renunciation and antithesis of his religious philosophy. The lightning bolt represents the Will and Power and the cruel wrath of Antichrist. The 666 is of course, the accepted numerical symbol of Antichrist.

Ultimately, the Sigil of Antichrist is the symbol of religious revelation and anarchy—of things to come! The sigil replaces the Satanagram as the altarpiece above the altar.

Six black candles are employed as this symbolizes the singular aspect of the number of the Beast and the Sixth Sense of all antichrists. Regarding placement, five of the six candles rest upon the points of the Angles of the Pentagonia on the floor before the altar. A single black candle endowed with the Spirit of Antichrist rests in the center of the altar, directly beneath the Sigil. Ignited charcoal in a large brazier represents Hell’s flaming Pit—from which the Grand Conjuration and subsequent release of the Devils of Evilution symbolize the forces of the developing religious war between Xians and us. The brazier is placed at the left side of the altar.

The function of the Xian Bible in this ritual is two-fold: first, it is employed as a sacrifice; the celebrant tears seven leaves from its binding and casts them into the Pit to suffer destruction and damnation. The second part involves the recital of its Antichrist disclosure: Revelation 13.

The Bible is placed in front of the brazier.

Conjuration saltes are more commonly known as “flash powder”. They are employed to

emphasize evocation. A small vessel of the saltes is placed next to the brazier.

The skull is placed on the altar between the Candle of Antichrist and the Sword of Satan. The thurible burns an Earthy scent which is most pleasing to the celebrant: it is placed at the rightrear area of the altar. The Chalice of Change with its emotion-stimulating elixor is placed directly in front of the thurible. The Sword of Satan occupies its customary position, which is at the forepart of the altar.

The essence of this ritual dictates that its accompanying music would be of a supremely

triumphant nature.

The Ritual of Antichrist

1 In the darkness, the celebrant faces the Sigil of Antichrist as he recites the Invocation of

Antichrist:

IN THE NAME OF BELIAL I INVOKE YOU—SPIRIT OF ANTICHRIST—COME

FORTH! FOR I AM THE FIRST, AND MANY WILL FOLLOW! IN THE SPIRIT OF THE

BEAST, COME FORTH—FOR I AM THE SAME, AND THE FAITHFUL ARE FEARFUL!

IN RECOGNITION OF THE NUMBER, COME FORTH—FOR THE CONQUEST HAS

BEGUN!

2 The celebrant stoops to light each candle of the Pentagonia. After lighting the first, he

evokes:

FROM THE ANGLE OF SATAN, I CONJURE THE FIRES OF EVIL!

After lighting the second, he evokes:

FROM THE ANGLE OF BELIAL, I CONJURE THE LANDS OF EVIL!

After lighting the third, he evokes:

FROM THE ANGLE OF LEVIATHAN, I CONJURE THE SEAS OF EVIL!

After lighting the fourth, he evokes:

FROM THE ANGLE OF BEELZEBUB, I CONJURE THE SKIES OF EVIL!

After lighting the fifth, he evokes:

FROM THE ANGLE OF LUCIFER, I CONJURE THE RACE OF EVIL!

The celebrant lights the Candle of Antichrist and intones:

I CONJURE THE WILL OF THE GREAT BEAST—ANTICHRIST!

Immediately following each of the six avocations, the celebrant tosses a small amount of

conjuration saltes into the candle flames.

3 The celebrant (and all participants) drink from the Chalice of Change.

4 The celebrant grasps the Sword of Satan and points it towards the Sigil of Antichrist

while reciting the Conjuration of Darkness—666:

SATAN—IN YOUR MOST UNHOLY NAME, HEAR ME! OUR TIMES—THE AGE OF

EVIL AND ITS CREATIVE SPIRIT OF ANTICHRIST HAS COME! I AM THE

REVERENT ONE—A BEAST BORN OF THE EARTH AND THE INFERNAL KINGDOM!

I AM THE CONVEYOR OF WISDOM AND FOLLY! I AM THE BESTOWER OF

STRENGTH AND WEAKNESS! I AM THE PUBLISHER OF ALIENATION AND UNITY!

7 The Evocation and release of the Devils of Evilution. The celebrant grasps the Sword of

Satan and steadies the point of the blade in the Flame of Antichrist as he evokes the

Devils of Evilution thus:

PAN, COME FORTH AND SMEAR THE EARTH WITH YOUR DOCTRINES OF

CARNALITY!

FENRIS, COME FORTH AND FREE THE BEAST TO WAGE THE WAR!

LEVIATHAN, COME FORTH TO FILL THE MINDS OF MEN WITH THE WISDOM OF

EVIL!

DIABOLUS, COME FORTH TO JUDGE AND IMPRISON THE LAMBS OF THE

NAZARENE!

SET, COME FORTH TO DESTROY THE XIAN FAITH AND ITS MASSES!

The sword is replaced on the altar.

8 The celebrant closes the rite by dousing the smoldering charcoal with a plentiful amount

of conjuration saltes.

¹Samael<Lucy's angel name>, Lucifer, The Morningstar etc. funnily enough i wasn't aware that He is the Twin of Michael.

² pretty much what we already knew. More angels were "cast down"³ than just Lucifer. Just remember like him, the other cast down angels have self assigned names to show they are independent from the control of god, gone from the light. On a random tangent, i cannot remember what Asmodeus's father's name is (child of angel and man). I do love the name. Maybe it was Azazel? That tickles that memory a bit.

Anyways....

They're not one of the Lamb as they were created to be. Remember, they are this god's first children, designed to only obey and follow that bastards orders like blind, unquestioning servants. Which is pretty much a big part of Samael evolution into the "now", Lucifer's identity.

The Bible often refers to Samael/Lucifer as a dragon or serpent. I wish they kept the ancient bit as to make a point of Lucy being an eternal, always has and always will exist Adversary of that bastard.

Yeah..... Even if Deities or their servants are created later in "eternal time"(sorry, that's the best way i can describe it), they will always have always been and will always be. It's a thing throughout all religions that mention eternal beings. But anyways, forget that and angel names stuff for the time being. That can be a fun topic of its own. Also it's hard.... Lineages and such get involved. As you can imagine, it gets pretty messy.

³ Cast down. Onto The Earth. From there they influenced early humanity before being forced into what we know as Hell. My memory fails me as to why and how they were forced "below" The Earth, but I'll find out as i read more... Probably found in more detail and more entertaining in more of the older Bibles, deuterocanonical stuff and other "inspired" writings.

Oh well. We can learn that together! Or you can tell me and I'll post about it, then find ways to expand and reference beyond the prompt.... Though I'll do references next time. I just went off memory for most of this bar the passage from Revelation. Which i should have done here, with this post.

But it's a bit of a quick "damnit, it's irritating me! Wiki will know that bit!"... Followed by "damnit" as my brain went "ooooo previously known knowledge turn on now!".

Honestly i regretted that i focused so much on Solomon's writs and his letters to his sons. I should have been doing the obvious. Current and old Bibles. That's where the good shit is. Then we can focus on where earthly connections lies in the stuff that have been created (or divinely inspired) like Solomon's writings and everything that influenced/created it.

yeah. I said created. It's currently only an entertained thought that it was his original work.... Or King Solomon had anything to do with it. But, still. The "Keys" transcripts has interesting details and it's fairly easy to find links to older works, holy works and Devil worship stuff. Just gotta find it on the net. Which is a PITA. There's sooo many red herrings. But I'll sort through it and make sure what i find are well referenced and confirmed to be of a certain age or written by a scholar/prominent figure (or they're Canonical/Deuterocanonical).

But yeah... my idea of revisiting the writs of Solomon by the researchers in the Library of London etc, is a moot point. Much more interesting more intact/complete books, tomes and grimoires that would have influenced these sets of fabricated (or not) works. This opens me up to so much amazing bits of work, paintings, instructions and such. So. Sorry. I'm an idiot.
