1. the character everyone gets wrong

hmm it's hard to narrow it down. I've seen weird portrayals of a lot of characters but I feel like the women usually have it worst? I've seen too many portrayals that like. make shtola or minfilia the "mom" or something 😭

2. what character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because how how the fandom acts about them?

ok. hear me out. I don't hate him akshsj but until I got to a certain point in the game I was confused why g'raha was so popular. I like him! but I do tend to roll my eyes at how a lot of the fandom is about him sometimes (obviously this doesn't include any friends or mutuals lmao just the larger fandom in general)

different fandom but this. also goes for astarion, the fact that fandom hypes him up often to the exclusion of everyone else makes me reluctant to engage with all the stuff I see for him (again, unless it's something friends have made, because I know that's fun for them and I like seeing their takes on it) like sure, I think he's neat! but I see so many astarion posts every day without even trying and not half as many of anyone else. like. balance it out, people. come on 😂

All the shinsai fics i see are sweet and fluffy, wheres the toxic shinsai?

i have no idea 😭😭😭 which is not to say i don't like cute shinsai stuff, or think they would be necessarily bad for each other - but i do think it would be an uneven ride with a LOT of potential to turn sour. and even the concept of a recovery journey is... in my mind, bumpy at best realistically and extremely fragile. kiyo is such a messy bitch and while shuichi is a wonderfully mitigating person, his demure nature is exactly what makes him such a potential enabler. not to mention that the plain possibility of him being unable to handle kiyo at his worst and kiyo pushing him away are also worth mentioning as just, likely outcomes of the pairing.

there's 80% chance shinsai would crash and burn and we don't talk about it!!! which is probably because shinsai is already such a kiyo gets a break coded ship, which i am fully complicit in mind you, but the balance of fluff to angst really is kind of striking.

my all time favorite shinsai fic is yen by azia on ao3 (heads up for mature rating!!!), which i think builds up korekiyo's inner world and their relationship wonderfully. i have read it a hundred thousand times. other than this one though... i don't think i have read a fic on them that i could really rec under toxic or even realistically messy shinsai.

5. Estimate of how much of your art you post online vs. the art you keep for yourself

hmm i’d say it’s a ratio of 8:2 (possibly 7:3) post vs not post? i don’t have the energy to draw that often so most of the time i draw w the intention to share. i can just share w my dm’s and gc’s tho so sometimes i don’t post! if i could draw more maybe i’ll keep more to myself, but i have a tendency to wring myself dry so might as well get more people to stare at my silly pictures 😳

9. What are your file name conventions

i used to be guilty of the keysmash but nowadays i try not to torture myself. like short 2-3 words that at a glance of the files remind me what’s inside, which doesn’t always hold up bc i have a couple that i doodled in and then i Forget Ab Them bc the file name is some shit like. “destiny stuff” and then inside is NOT destiny stuff

11. Do you listen to anything while drawing? If so, what

i cycle between music, podcast, video essays, or like stories on youtube!! maybe an audiobook if i can get my hands on one i like. i just don’t tend to draw in silence bc it’s pretty boring.

some of my usual go-to’s or current listens are: the penumbra podcast (specifically juno’s story, i lost interest in the citadel one), the silt verses (i actually need to get back to it, but highly recommend), the man the legend mr jacob geller, kennie jd, and the scp exploring series <3

14. If they were not an adventurer, what would they be doing?

If Cori were not an adventurer they would still be traveling, probably picking up odd jobs here and there to get by but not anything involving combat. They’d still be studying magic, as much as they could on their own, and probably would have made it to Limsa for the Arcanist’s Guild but I don’t think they would have stayed long.

16. What kinds of weather do they like and dislike? Do they handle heat or cold better?

Cori’s favorite weather is a nice, sunny but not too hot day, but she also likes a bit of a rainy day. She vastly prefers cold and snow to the heat, though her chocobo probably wishes she chose anywhere besides ishgard to live.

19. What level of education do they have?

hmm okay i don’t think cori is super Formally educated, i do think they read a lot and so they have a lot of knowledge but they’re not exactly studying. i’m not knowledgeable enough about the lore to really know what though lmao, but likely in the areas of arcanism/magic and aether. she’s def not as educated as the scions but she’s able to keep up enough with some help (and when your bestie is y’shtola you pick up some stuff probably!).

in theory I get the appeal and why the conflict of that set up is interesting but the idea of crossing that boundary and the risk of it messing up a stable living arrangement sounds too horrifying to me even in a fictional setting to personally enjoy it, I’ve read stuff where it’s been done well and I loved it though
