Not a confession. Just gonna ask if it’s worth it buying Skyrim Anniversary edition when one already has the Special Edition? I, unfortunately, cannot have both due to console storage issues.

This is a great question!

Because Skyrim Anniversary has all the Creation Club content (through November 2021) added into the game, it is technically the best value when buying Skyrim for the first time.

If you're thinking of moving from an older version of Skyrim to Anniversary Edition (AE), such as Special Edition (SE), there are a few things to consider:

In the online store for the digital game, the AE upgrade to SE is around $20 (last I checked). It adds AE content to your existing game files, which is great if you want to get into the CC content with an existing character.

It's important to consider modding. I don't know what console you're on, but as the Xbox One allows modding, this is important to mention. A lot of mods compatible with SE are not compatible with AE. Some of them are, but that's because the mod creators took time to make changes in the coding. It's the same thing that happened when SE came out. There were a lot of Legendary Edition (LE) mods and people had to hope for and wait for the SE version. I think there's LE, SE, and AE versions for the Legacy of the Dragonborn mod, for instance. That's just something to consider if you use mods.
