Tarantula Rankings (Or Which Child I Love the Most)
Sphaerobothria hoffmani / Central American Horned (Female) - my most unique - fantastic eater - fairly active and feisty - creates interesting landscaping in her terrarium - my most expensive - first ‘experienced’ acquisition
Cyriopagopus lividus sp. Green Femur / Cobalt Blue Green Femur (Unsexed) - my first Old World tarantula - I haven’t seen it yet, but I love it - it still might just be a tube of dirt
Acanthoscurria geniculata / Brazilian White Knee (Female) - amazing eater - visually attractive - out and about frequently - not sure if feisty or paranoid - first tarantula I sexed myself - did not die when I accidentally flung her out of her cage... twice.
Acanthoscurria brocklehursti / Brazilian Black and White (Unsexed) Nhandu bhromatus / Brazilian Red and White (Unsexed) - fucking lying cunt that sold it - is not a A. brocklehursti. - idk, just has been endearing - visually my second least favorite - first tarantula I saw doing a long drink, which was hilarious  - originally the runt of the three slings I raised - did not die despite multiple housing crises  - kind of being a dick by just sitting in the same divet, but does come say hi
Brachypelma Tliltocatl albopilosum / Honduran Curly Hair (Unsexed) - actually my favorite to look at - amazingly calm and non-confrontational  - my least favorite because she(?) has been a pet hole lately  - amazing to watch when she does build
Tliltocatl albopilosum /  Nicaraguan Curly Hair (Unsexed) - tiny little thing; smallest sling I’ve worked with - managed to burrow massive tunnels in a very short time - will it upsurp my Honduran? Probably not.
Grammostola pulchripes / Chaco Golden Knee (Unsexed) - has gold knees - probably going to battle for A. brocklehursti’s spot with B. albiceps
Aphonopelma seemani (blue form) / Guatemalan Blue, Blue Stripe Knee, Blue Zebra (Female) - is blue - a big chunky lady - eh, interesting to have by not my ideal - probably has a great personality - is my most XTREME climber
Aphonopelma chalcodes / Mexican/Arizona Blonde (Unsexed) - waiting on receipt - probably going to battle for A. geniculata’s spot.
Brachypelma albiceps / Mexican Golden Red Rump (Unsexed) - waiting on receipt - probably going to battle for A. brocklehursti’s spot.
Idiothele mira / Blue Foot Baboon (Unsexed) - waiting on receipt - totally an impulse purchase * There will be no actual tarantula battles.

My tax refund came in, so I bought some rancho slings; two Euathlus sp. reds, one G. pulchripes and I got a B. albopilosum as my free gift. :O
Uh, would anyone be interested if I tried to make an “““unboxing””” video? I’ve never done one before, so it may not actually happen. |D But if I tried, would anyone maybe be interested?

I need to put my tarantula (B. albo) in a bigger enclosure (first I need to get the enclosure) and I have questions cause I lost my notes (did you know cats hunt composition books too?). I remember a couple things, they need 4"to 6" of substrate, fake plants(or real plants if you know what your doing) of appropriate size for web anchoring, a proper size hide, proper ventilation, regular enclosure tidying and to be fed once a week maximum
What size enclosure do you put a 3inch B. albo in?
Is the one you put them in at that point their final enclosure?

my first glimpse of curly after his molt!! he always barricades himself in his hide for about a month before he molts, so it’s always fun to guess when he’ll reamerge. this time he looks like he’s starting to sport his adult colors!!

Went to therapy today, and my therapist had big news. She knows about my tarantulas and has started to fall in love with them since I talked about my first.
She went to the last Hamburg show and got her first T! Although the vendor wasn’t very kind or helpful, which is a shame, she got walked out with a Acanthoscurria geniculata as her very first spider. She’s a bit worried about how big they get, and how bad their hairs can be, but she seems happy about it. She loves all of its other qualities and I know she’ll fall even more in love as it grows.
Since she isn’t raising her own feeders, she has to buy them for her new sling. To compensate for the waste, and because of the nature of this hobby, she also has a Fear Not Tarantulas order coming in on Thursday. I’ve told her how much I like ordering from them, so she decided to purchase a Brachypelma albopilosum, Hapolopus sp. colombia large, and a Holothele sanguiniceps from them. They’re such great folks and I’m glad her second purchase is going a lot better than her first.
She chose good species (I did warn her about how fast the Hapalopus can get, but with some precautions she should be fine) and I’m glad she’s so enthusiastic about it. Telling me about the research she’s done, the little enclosures she’s got set up for the bigger ones, what she’s noticed about them so far, etc. etc.. and you can hear the excitement in her voice.
Not sure what else to say about it, it was just something nifty that happened today. She was interested in my invert pets from the start, but it’s kinda crazy to think that me telling her about mine actually caused her to get some of her own. She talked about it for months but I wasn’t sure if she’d actually do it. As for me, I’m going to keep advising her and pointing her in the right direction for care. She’s had a long time to think and research this, and I feel confident that with a bit of assistance and experience she’ll be a great spider parent. c:

Went to pick up my babies from a store (owner also breeds tarantulas as a side job). Got mistaken for a child. Horribly confused an employee when I told her I was there to pick up spiders I ordered.
Edit: got a B. smithi named Indiana (species used in Indiana Jones) and a T. albopilosum named Anabelle Cane (will have short curly blond hair as an adult, so felt appropriate).

That’s right babie!!! You can’t cancel Halloween!!!! Halloween 2020 is on!!!!!!!
Get ready for photoshoots with my tarantulas! My A. bicoloratum is out of commission due to a bad molt, but my B. albiceps is a confirmed female with a whole new look and my G. pulchra and T. albopilosum have also molted recently! I’m not sure if I can work with my G. iheringi but I’ll make an attempt! Big things are coming! I have my laptop back from being repaired!
