WHAT ABOUT A WEREWOLF BRUCE?? 🥺👀

Oh lord. Time to dust off the old ipod.

Some things were easier to deal with than others. He'd learned to eal with the sense of smell and the temper. He could deal with being alone.

But.

Stepping into the tea room behind the book shop, the prickle of the wards on his skin. The sharp staticky sensation- was not one of them.

As always, it was empty but for Izolda, sitting with her fingers steepled and waiting. Bundles of herbs waiting for him.

"You're late," she scolded. A heavy Russian accent accented by heavier brows as she scowled at him through the haze of incense.

"My apologies-"

"Bah," she said. "Too busy chasing skirts to remember an old woman"

"Hardly," he snorted. "I do have a company to run."

"Don't lie to me, Brucie."

"Izolda-"

"Bah," she said again, waving his protests away and gesturing for him to take a seat, "Girl," she called over the shoulder. "Bring the tea."

"You don't need to-" But an imperious look from the old woman cut off his protests and he took a seat. He didn't know how old Izolda was. His father had told him once that she's been old since he was a boy. And Bruce believed it. Her hands were gnarled with age and her snow white hair hung into a braid so long it coiled to the floor. For all he knew she lived her entire life in this room. In her plush red velvet arm chair. Dripping with gold jewelry and draped in silk shawls. She oozed power. Old power. And he wouldn't be surprised if she was the witch who taught Baba Yaga all her tricks. Or to find out that there were chicken feet under the book shop.

"Girl!" she demanded again, more loudly, half rising from her chair

"Coming, Grandmother," comes a voice. A contralto voice. A contrast but Bruce isn't sure how- not really. Until the swish of a long skirt and the clatter of bone china on a wooden tray attracted his attention. "I was waiting for the cakes," comes an explanation. "Sana sneezed in the first batch."

A dignified sniff from Izolda is her only response but some of the surly look leaves her face and she gestures to pour.

And Bruce blinks. Clearing his throat. Through the cloying incense and the aroma of leather and herbs another scent cut through the miasma. And it made him take notice. "I don't believe we've met before-"

"My granddaughter," Izolda said gesturing vaguely.

"I didn't know you had children," Bruce said, interested.

"Who said I did?"

"What-"

"Y/N," she said, "You forgot the lemon."

And without another word, with a swish of long skirts, you disappeared through the door you'd come through. Leaving tea steaming in bowls on the table- only for Sana a black cat with a cold to come and investigate. And beg for cream.

at least i guess witch is the best way to put it? they live in basically a baba yaga hut of a trailer home that they pack up and peel out in anytime they get tired of being in one place for too long. they're known to collect (and gift) rocks, crystals, feathers, twigs, string, jewelry pieces, glass bits, basically anything a magpie would pick up. they have a micro vegetable and fruit garden that they maintain for the sake of spending less on groceries bc it's kinda hard to consistently have money if u never consistently have a job bc u can't keep ur ass still...

until u meet someone u can't get enough of heheh >:3c

Thronecoming at NRC Part 2!

For @sayuricorner​‘s EAH x TW AU!

A continuation of my previous Thronecoming post! This time with the new transfers and Heritage Hall! This takes place after the dance is announced and before the dance starts.

(It’s SUPER long so it’s under the cut. Enjoy!)

Heritage Hall (I forgot about it in Part 1, so I decided to include it here in Part 2)

After Heritage Hall appears in the Silent Woods by the school campus, Baba Yaga and the other former EAH teachers all petition Crowley to let them take the transfers to the Hall, as it is an important part of the Land of Ever After’s history. 

Crowley allows them to hold a field trip to the Hall so that the NRC students can learn more about Ever After. He even allows the students at RSA and other former EAH students to come and claim their heirlooms.

When they arrive at the Hall, all the students are immediately taken in by the grandeur of the building and what’s inside. The EAH transfers approach their prospective heirlooms and happily show them off to their classmates:

Maddie’s is a new tea hat

Lizzie receives a new set of playing cards, with herself as the Queen of Hearts

Bunny’s dad gifts her a new pocket watch that will always return to her no matter what

Alice gifts Alistair a set of books about Twisted Wonderland’s adventurers and explorers

Kitty gets a cat shaped locket from her mom (which surprises her, as she thought her mother would leave her a prank. Her mom left her the locket after Alice disappeared so that Kitty would never forget her if they were ever separated.)

Ginger gets an enchanted cooking/baking set from her mother

Cerise’s is a electronic picnic basket with a mirror lock

Ramona’s is a new faux fur shawl from her parents

Jillian gets a pair of hiking spikes for whenever she goes climbing

Holly and Poppy both receive enchanted hair brushes

Coral also doesn’t receive one because she was going to enter EAH when she came of age. To her, the coral crown and pearls that Azul’s mother gave her is her Thronecoming gift.

Blondie gets a new pair of running shoes

Hunter gets a new polishing/abrasive stone for his axe

Ashlynn receives glass polish for her glass slippers

Raven gets the magic wand that her mother left her

Cedar receives the Revealer Rays from her dad

Cupid’s gift is a new bow and arrow that will only recognize her fingerprints (Her dad got her this after the whole love arrow incident with Hunter)

Rosabella’s parents gift her a magic hand mirror that will always show her home, the Beast’s Castle

Briar’s is a super-soft neck supporting pillow (she’s not thrilled about it)

Faybelle’s mother gave her an enchanted silver crown of thorns (The thorns are enchanted so that they won’t harm the wearer.)

Melody’s dad gives her a recording of a lullaby that her mom used to sing to her when she was little (She’s not dead! I promise!)

Duchess receives a music box from her grandmother

Daring and Dexter both receive new swords with enchanted shields from their father

Darling receives a new set of silver jewelry from their mother (Her brothers thought she would be upset about it, but Darling wasn’t since their mom put a lot of thought into her gift.)

Prudence and Charlotte both receive enchanted hand fans that will change color to match their outfits/dresses

Apple is unsure whether or not she should accept hers, since she is now estranged from her mother. Raven encourages her to open it, but she decides not to open it and just takes the box back with her.

Nina gets a small pair of wings made from flower petals (Inspired by the Barbie: Thumbelina)

Justine receives a new pair of dance shoes that will never wear out

Promposals (These are just my ideas/couplings. Writers can write about different couples if they so choose. Same with the previous post.)

Ginger, along with the rest of the cooking club, are asked to make some food for the dance, to which they agree to do. Trey also volunteers to help with the food preparation so that they can have an extra set of hands in the kitchen.

One night at the Heartslabyul dorm, Trey and Ginger are going over what they should make and they both decide to ask the other to dance at the same time. They both blurt it out at once and Ginger ends up fumbling. After calming down, Trey takes the chance to properly ask her to the dance and she accepts.

Meanwhile, Alistair and Bunny both want to ask the other to the dance too. One day, while hanging out in the school’s main courtyard, Alistair and Bunny ask each other out at the same time and fumble for a bit before both accepting each other's promposals.

If this takes place after Way Too Wonderland, it’s up to the writer who Courtly and Chase go with.

It’s also up to the writer who Kitty goes with.

Jillian could go with Cerise and the group or with another classmate.

If this takes place after Epic Winter, then Daring could plan to ask Rosabella to Thronecoming in the only way he knows how, in a very exuberant and over the top Daring Charming manner. 

Rosabella actually beats him to the punch and asks him to the dance with a red rose that she got from the greenhouse while taking a walk through there earlier that day. Daring accepts the rose with an equally red face and wears it on his tuxedo when he goes to pick up Rosabella from the Pomefiore dorm.

Whoever Cedar goes with is up to the writer.

Prudence and Charlotte are unsure whether or not they should go, since they don’t have dresses. Ashlynn steps up and offers them two dresses that she had previously made when they were still at Ever After (see the webisode Ashlynn’s Fashion Frolic, the purple and pink dresses in the beginning).

The sisters are unsure whether or not they should accept, since it would look like they are still following their destiny and forcing her, but after some encouragement from Cupid, they accept.

Who they go with is up to the writer.

My dear, I just saw that post about your OC being a battle maiden by night and a princess by day and you just gave me a totally awesome idea (lol).

So I grew up reading Grimm's Fairy Tales, Hans Anderson's stories and all kinds of mythology from around the world and it had me thinking about some of my favorite characters from the stories too (lol).

-Snow White is a green witch who knows the woods like the back of her hand of course, but she also knows all the animal calls. She also knows all the medicine plants, which ones are good and which ones are poisonous and of course she'll never let you go away from the cottage hungry and will always send you away with something tasty, even if it's just a basket of crispy red apples from her orchard, each one has a spell too that'll heal, bring good fortune, ward off evil etc.

-Red Riding Hood (I gave her the name Freya), is always on watch with the wolf pack. Any wargs, orcs, goblins or evil creatures try to get into the forest, she and the pack are right on the hunt. Her fiance, Peter, lives in the meadow over the hill and commands one of his own but both their packs protect the farm that belongs to Peter's grandfather. She's on really good terms with Snow White too and the wolves never fail to show up at the door with a little "thank you gift".

-Sleeping Beauty uses sleep magic to help people who are sick or are suffering from some other ailment. She teaches Philip, her prince, all her secrets and Philip is a master of the earth who can make plants grow and makes sure that the roses grow so that they guard both the healing house and their home.

-Cinderella will literally tie her shoes together and go barefoot when she goes through the woods to visit close family and friends. She got so sick of accidentally losing her shoes every time she went somewhere, that Jacob (her prince) made her a bag to put them in so they wouldn't get lost. When she, Jacob and the others ride into battle, she's known as "The Barefoot battle Maiden" and sometimes by "Lady Silver Boots" because the boots for her armor were made of elvish silver.

-Rapunzel goes full Indiana Jones and uses her hair like a bullwhip but she's also a master craftswoman. Because her hair is enchanted with all that sun power, she uses the cuttings to make nets, blankets, spools of thread, nests for orphaned birds, mice and other critters, but she learned how to also make enchanted jewelry from both her prince and from the dwarves, two of which in Norse mythology are the "Solringen" one for her and one for her husband. Oh and she and her husband also rode into open combat with their son and daughter strapped to their backs.

-Beauty and her beast are both shapeshifters who live in a huge longhouse made of split logs. Think of Beorn's home in The Hobbit and you have their home. It's full of all kinds of enchanted animals, sprawling green hills, fresh lakes, springs and rivers. They can both transform into bears or if the home is protected, Beast will take on his beastly form (yes pun intended) and drive away whatever is threatening them.

-Ariel and her prince are both water masters who thrive near the sea. Ariel is not only a mermaid, but she is also part selkie and made a seal cloak for her husband so he could join her on their adventures. She's not the greatest fighter on land, but on the sea? Watch out. She and her family are helpful to anyone but should you get on their bad sides, it won't be pretty at all.

-Baba Yaga is the old babushka who lives right in the deepest part of the forest. Think the female version of Radagast from The Hobbit and you've got her down to a tee. Her house still has the chicken legs so that if they encounter goblins or any unsavory creatures of the woods, she can tell the house to get out of there quick. She is fiercely protective of any children who come into her domain and even protected Hansel and Gretel when they were on the run from the evil witch that lived in the gingerbread house. To others, she might be the harmless old grandmother living in the woods, but be warned, for babushka's powers are far beyond that of anyone's comprehension.

Dahling I apologize if this is so long, I had alot of details to work through I'm afraid (lol).

"Baba Yaga" Gold Evil Eye Bird Talon Earrings🌙

Inspired by the Slavic folklore of Baba Yaga and her hut that rests upon chicken legs deep within the forest

Top 5 female antiheroes?

My distinctions between who's an antihero and who's a likeable villain or a hero with dark traits may be arbitrary, but here goes!

1. Moll Flanders. I love Moll so much, you guys! If you haven't read the book, it's basically the plot of Reba McEntire's "Fancy"- girl is born into poverty and decides that she is going to be a fine lady no matter what she has to do to get there. I love that she is so straightforward about herself, including noting when she does things that can or can't be excused (conning people when she was poor was to survive, breaking and entering when she was better off was just for the thrill and she does feel bad about that.) She takes pity on women in bad situations, and she also mugs schoolgirls for their jewelry. She marries lots of people (the incest was an accident) and loses track of her children and runs a crime empire based on stolen imported lace. She periodically stops the story to tell the reader that she's only warning them not to follow her example, then continues to talk about how she ended up rich and happy from all this. I've been wanting to write fanfic for years about her having a conversation with a de Sade character because for a book from 1722, her views on morality are surprisingly pragmatic; she seems to feel that pure virtue and pure sin are both luxuries, and people without the money or leisure to indulge them just do what they can. She should be played by Patti Lupone.

2. Speaking of Patti Lupone, Mrs. Lovett! Unlike simple robbery, tricking people into cannibalism cannot be excused due to low money, but she's very funny about it! I'm actually less into her relationship with Sweeney Todd than her relationship with Toby, because it's another instance of a villain who feels sympathetic and charitable to individual people without stopping being evil, which is a trope I love. As a theatrical role, I like the range of attitudes she can be played with, from Angela Lansbury's witchy mania to Patti Lupone's washed up femme fatale, or even Helena Bonham Carter's hopeless romantic grabbing at a dream that can't happen. Please, please, let me play Mrs. Lovett someday! (I would also like to play genderbent Toby but I'm getting on in years.)

3. Baba Yaga. I read a lot of Russian fairy tale books as a kid (they had the best illustrations) and Baba Yaga was a real revelation to me: she could be a good guy or a bad guy depending on the story! That was amazing! She could terrorize helpless girls or help them defeat villains worse than she was, and she could never be killed off for real! She plays the role of fairy godmother to Vasilissa's Cinderella, except her version of glass slippers and a pumpkin carriage is just murder! And in her defense, she decorates her house with flaming skulls and heroes keep bothering her; to paraphrase Shrek, what does she have to do to get a little privacy?

4. Morgan le Fay. I like to think she and Baba Yaga get together once a month for Morally Ambiguous Witch Brunch. She's another character who can be a good guy or a bad guy depending on the story, or a good guy who goes bad or a bad guy who goes good. Given how many contradictory legends there are about her, I like to think of her as mostly benevolent but with a very bad attitude and a deadly temper when crossed. I think she can always be found lounging around in velvet with a goblet of wine in her hand, even on 'off' days.

5. Keiko Furukura. The protagonist of Convenience Store Woman is more of a classical antihero; she doesn't kill anyone or anything like that, people just find her weird and unsympathetic. Keiko, as the title indicates, works at a convenience store (which are much nicer places in Japan than in America, but still not a super prestigious job.) She likes putting things in order and having only surface level relationships with other people, but her mother is worried because she isn't married or working a more impressive job, so she sets out on an ill-advised journey to become more 'normal.' One of the blurbs on the back of the book called it "chilling." I think this is completely unfair- she just wants to live her life the way that makes her happy!
