Old Couple and Baby Carriage (Poetry)

While walking the dog in the evening,

In the distance I saw an old couple pushing a pram.

I thought they were carrying their grandchild,

I was a little surprised because it was a beagle dog on board.

For them, is the dog also an existence that should be loved?

like human infants.

But, the "grandmother" said he should walk a little,

and unloading the dog from the pram.

If you care about your dog's health,

I thought it would be better to let him walk from the beginning.

老夫婦と乳母車（詩）

夕方イヌの散歩中、

とおくに老夫婦が乳母車を押しているのを見た。

孫を乗せているのかと思いきや、近づくにつれ

乗っているのはビーグル犬だったのでちょっと驚いた。

彼らにとってはイヌも愛情を注ぐべき存在なのかと

人間の乳幼児と同じように可愛がっているのだろうか。

もっとも、「祖母」の方が少しは歩かせないとね、

とイヌを乳母車から降ろしていた。

イヌの健康を考えるのなら、

最初から歩かせた方がいいのにね、と私は思った。
