Amber’s (this is what we’re calling the baby sister) Book Journey

Okay, ya’ll. Officially a new series.

Baby sister (Amber) just got to Chapter 49 which is Leo’s first POV chapter after being flung away from the Argo II by Khione.

We finished the chapter before that when Percy defeated Akhlys and is now facing Nyx.

She squealed when I read the name “Leo” for the next chapter.

I have never heard that kind of sound come out of her before.

Needless to say, she is loving The House of Hades.

THE MIGHTY PHOENIX

Third POV

Children laughing could be heard as Rao picked them up, showing them how strong he is. The loud giggles and laughter could be heard throughout the orphanage. The door opened to the middle courtyard and out walked a young girl carrying multiple treys of snacks. She was 5’3 in height wore baggy pants and a big shirt. The young kids surrounded her once Rao put them down. She gave each of their snack patting their head to let them know when they were done and to let the next child grab their snack until everyone was in their own little groups talking and eating.

“You know Phoenix, you got them spoiled.” Rao teased the shorter girl as she gave him a snack as well. The girl rolled her eyes before replying “They deserve a treat once in a while. If they don’t get it you know Binzo and Kansuke will just fight over them.”

Rao laughed but nod in agreement, knowing how their two friends are. He sat down on the steps just next to the entrance of the orphanage. She soon joined him, giving him one of the snacks as she had her own. The two sat in silence as they ate their snacks.

“How was your doctor appointment?” Rao finally asked, breaking the peaceful silence between the two.

“Umm…”

He sighed “You know you can’t keep skipping those sessions Phoenix.”

“I know okay? I know, but I’m scared Rao.” She pulled her legs into herself “I don’t know how much damage they did to me.”

“What about your brothers? You know the worker said if you talk to the doctor at least three times they will finally give you their names. That’s more than anyone of us ever gets especially at our age.”

“Have you heard what’s going on at Oya high?” She asks him, completely changing the subject at hand.

“Phoenix….”

“Mercy said that Ito and Kansuke notice some actives among the student when the two went to the store in the O region. He wants to send Ito to investigate more.” She continued

Rao sighs taking the subject change, but plans to bring it back up again at a later date.

“Does he think they are planning an attack? They normally stay near the O district and don’t go past its region unless another attacks them first or for SWORD matters.” He asks her.

“ No, but he says there’s seems to be a shift in power in their full time student’s.” She snorts “ Still can’t believe they are divided to full and part. That’s stupid.”

Rao only smiled as he takes in the information she gave him. “ Let’s wait to see how Kansuke does against you tomorrow so I can think about everything.” He pauses, before adding “I know it’s serious if Mercy is considering sending Ito in person for information, but I don’t want to us in unnecessary drama if we do not need to be. As long as Suzuran is not affected we should not interfere.”

Phoenix nod in agreement. Suzuran has always been strong even with the divided faction, but they had always kept to themselves unless someone challenged them first.

The two sat in silence again before Rao nudges her softly. She looks at him “We’re still going to talk about the doctor stuff, but I’m not going to push it anymore today.”

Phoenix only nod as she leaned against him. She knew he wasn’t going to let it go even if she wanted him to. At least she had until her next appointment before he bought it up again.
