Started out in the garden where I picked a nice Brandywine tomato. Nothing better than a BLT for breakfast. I lightly toast some good bread and spread a generous amount of Dukes Mayo on both slices. I like 1 big slice of tomato with 3 slices of crisp bacon and just a couple of leaves of romaine. I smush it together and man, it is delicious. It鈥檚 so good I eat it with my eyes closed!
We sat on the back porch to listen to the birds and watch the butterflies but were quickly drowned out by the neighbors mower and the noisy cicadas. But that鈥檚 okay, it鈥檚 still a beautiful morning here and I鈥檓 sitting with a beautiful woman. I have coffee and Colbie Cailat on the speaker box.
Later plans include spa and dinner at a fancy hotel in Charlotte. (It will be fancy until I get there)
We both shake our head when we think about how long we have been married. Time flies!
Our porches may not be expertly done or pintrest worthy. Good. They shouldn't be. Our porches should reflect OUR homes, not pintrest. Pinterest and Instagram can provide inspiration, but you live here with your people. Look at what you have with eyes of love not discontentment and beauty will blossom.
The best part of this house has been the back porch in the morning and the afternoons. Partly because it's like putting Magnus in big cage with us and as long as we don't see him climbing the rail -- which feels like an actual possibility -- then he's contained and we can relax.
We hit the pool again for the bulk of the day, then came back and watched Clifford the Big Red Dog, had dinner, and called it a day.
Nene has taken to picking around on her guitar lately, so she brought it with her.
