The Reawakening

This is a sequel to my story The Spy, so this story won't make much sense unless you have read that first. This takes place in a slightly alternate version of the owl house, while the original took place right after Hunting Palismen, this one is right after Follies at the Coven Day Parade. Edric hasn't seen Hunter in a month and is starting to worry, but when he does find him will it be what Edric was expecting, can they still be together after all that has happened?

Re: Mandalore. I’ve never been to the planet. I have heard most of the planet is uninhabitable by the nuclear-plasma weapons used to fight the many wars. Most individuals live in the desert in glass dome cities to manage the elements. The air is breathable, for now. Tiber Saxon wanted to orbitally bomb the planet again to rid of any subversives. I ordered him not to do that. Then, with Bridger, I found armor in a locker that I repaired and painted, myself. Bridger told me I could never pass as a Mandalorian. He’s right. Then, he said, Sabine would hate me for desecrating sacred Beskar’gam. I told him that I learned Mandalorian armor is forged by the blood of the ancestors of Mandalorian warriors.

Bridger skulked off.

oh my gosh.. i know a few that have posted some really great fanart like @sheep-in-clouds, @artesmalae, @elensartdump, @kaytooessoverit and @backtothe80scolors .. there’s also one fanart by @pocketwynand that’s really gorgeous 

there are so many more, though. check the finnpoe fanart tag, there’s plenty of good content to go through :)

I finally bound the story I co-wrote with Camellia Cook! 

This is a hella filthy canonverse Kylux romp. 

Summary:

Six months after the death of Supreme Leader Snoke, Hux feels like he’s all that’s holding the First Order together, but he’s barely managing to keep himself together. He’s stressed out and exhausted, unable to step away from his work long enough to truly relax.

Kylo Ren is intimately acquainted with the feeling of being overwhelmed by one’s responsibilities. Looking at Hux, he remembers a long-ago encounter that helped him escape that feeling once, for a little while.

He’s certain he could do the same thing for Hux, if only Hux would let him.

Binding

There are two copies, one for each of us.

Cam’s copy is in a sexy spacey metallic marble on black paper. Silver endpapers.

My copy is a chaotic two-toned orange/yellow bookcloth and whatever mismatched papers kind of went with it.

Typesetting

I got experimental with the typesetting since the whole thing was a guinea pig from the beginning. The story is under 20k words so I set it in a big point size with huge margins to blow up the page count a bit and make it easier to bind.

Body: Sitka Text 11.5pt

19k words, 96 pages.

Hi. How are you? I was remembering First of the New, and a few questions came up in my head: 1. We got to see Poe worried for Hux. Will we see Hux worried about Poe? Will Hux's step mother appear? What about what happened when Rey talked to the gangs in Naboo prison, will we get to see what happened? Thank you. Have a great weekend!

I’m so so sorry for my delayed response. This ask is awesome on so many different levels -- I hope my answer does it justice!

(1) A major theme in the upcoming minisode is Hux worrying about Poe. Or rather, Hux descending into denial-rage-panic, while everybody around him knows better. What sort of trouble did Poe get himself into, you ask?? Well, @backtothe80scolors created an outstanding fanart for my fic, which I’ll reblog shortly! :)

(2) Hux’s stepmother (Maratelle) will indeed make an appearance. She’s a wealthy noblewoman from Arkanis, and thus her financial support becomes critical as Team Finalizer rebuilds an entire navy from scratch.

(3) Rey hasn’t yet spoken with Rotta the Huttlet, actually! He and his cousin (Gorga) are still locked in Theed dungeon. Spoiler alert, I have VERY specific plans for Rotta, who displayed -- dare I say -- borderline prophetic “bad feelings” during the Naboo mission. Hmmm...

And before Rey knew what was where, she was hugging Kylo Ren in celebration. If someone foretold this a year ago, she would've called them a liar. But times change. People change. Her feet left the ground as he squeezed her tight, picked her up, twirled her in a circle. The flowy bits of her robes tangled with his legs.

His laugh was deep and baritone. She'd never heard a sound so sweet.

Her friend. Her bondmate. Ben Solo.

He was saved. In that moment, he was back.

Drunk on victory, they finally stopped spinning, if only to catch their breath. His stupidly large hands spanned her hips and waist, holding Rey aloft as if she weighed nothing. And for an endless instant, she was taller than him, looking down as he smiled up.

"You did it." Kylo beamed with pride.

Rey shook her head. "We did it."

At home in his arms, she clung to his neck and broad shoulders. Long dark hair fell into his eyes, over his cheeks, his scar, his beauty marks. And if she leaned in, if she dared, his mouth was close enough to kiss.

Might he let her, now or ever? Rey wouldn't ask for much. Just a taste. Just the once. She'd never kissed a man before. His lips looked soft and plush, made for kissing.

Bond aflame, the Force smoldered and sparked between them. A poison pull, irresistible, like a compass to magnetic north. Do it, whispered something dark and reckless, deep inside her. Or forever wish you had.
