i wholesale reject the idea that metropolis is across the river from gotham. Because that means that metropolis is in new jersey. metropolis is NOT in new jersey. Metropolis is in kansas, why would it be anywhere other than kansas. clark needs to live within a 2-3 hours drive from the kent farm.

don’t come here telling me that metropolis can’t be in kansas cause it has a bay and kansas is a landlocked state. i do not care, this is comics it works somehow.

gotham can still be it’s sister city, they don’t need to be near eachother tho cause that is a ridiculous concentration of weirdos in costumes.

also the weather, metropolis is a sunny blue sky picture perfect american dream meanwhile gotham is an overcast perpetually polluted nightmare. they cannot be within the same weather cycle.

in a different life althaea would only live to the age of 26 until an accident would see her dying at a deep pit river, with her two friends coming out soaked but unscathed otherwise and with no idea where she has went

#her body would be spun through the dams backwash and then she'd float downstream until she hits a sand bar #and when her body is taken out of the water she is perfectly healthy and the only complication is water in her lungs #however when questioned one of the two men who went down with her would claim that they had seen blood #but were unsure of the source. no identifiable cuts or internal injuries were found on althaea to rule her being the one to bleed #but the two men also came out unscathed #althaea

it stemmed from when they were kids and they'd label their clothes/book bags with their initial to keep track of which was which, and then just never really stopped doing it.

they leave notes (either as reminders or passive aggressive complaints) for each other around the house and always sign it with their initial, and they still label their clothes if it's something of questionable ownership, or something which they begrudgingly share.

if one of them is feeling particularly precious about the food supply, they'll start labelling "their share" of it in the fridge, so expect to see 2 out of 4 yogurts with a V written on them in magic marker, or a bag of chips with a B scribbled on it.
