Tech’s breath caught in his throat. He swallowed hard, furrowing his brow and analyzing the components of the current situation. You’d been working together for quite a while now, and it had been increasingly difficult for him to compartmentalize or deny the feelings you created simply with your proximity, your thoughts, and your humor. Now, crammed in the maintenance corridor with barely a few inches between you, he was nearly overcome with the rush of sensations that were occurring.
Your face was scrunched in your look of intense focus that he’d noted as remarkably endearing. The wires and conduits normally held his full attention, but as he stood in the narrow space with his shoulder brushing against yours, he was struggling to focus on the task at hand. There was a light fragrance that he could just barely catch a whiff of, and it was as alluring as it was pleasant. The sound of your muttering gave him a warm and fuzzy feeling in his chest, and as a small shower of sparks cascaded from your soldering hands, he felt the same in his stomach.
Pausing in your work, you lifted the face mask above your head, regarding him with fond curiosity. His owlish eyes seemed even larger than normal, and he had been uncharacteristically quiet this time around. You were slightly concerned, and also somewhat humored as you realized you honestly missed his steady stream of information shared while working, whether it pertained to the current assignment or not.
“Everything alright?” you asked, shifting slightly to ease the soreness where one durasteel panel had been digging into your shoulder as you’d hunched over the circuitry. His eyes flitted to yours before returning to the wires, although they didn’t seem to be focused.
“Ah… yes,” Tech said after a pause, clearing his throat and pointing vaguely at the work area. “The adjustments so far appear to have been in order, and the final few steps shall complete it satisfactorily.”
You smiled, tilting your head but accidentally banging the bulky face cover into the panel. You pulled it off your head for a moment, sliding your arm down the narrow space and dropping it near your feet. “I meant with you,” you clarified, reaching out to touch his arm. He wasn’t watching, and he visibly jumped at the touch, causing you to pull your hand back apologetically. You hadn’t complained when he insisted on joining you for the repairs, and the fact that he’d foregone his full armor kit in favor of his blacks had been quite the perk. It made it easier for you to steal glances at his toned physique from behind the dark lens of your protective gear, and the “accidental” brushes against one another felt ten times more enthralling without the bulky plastoid between you.
“I am also in satisfactory working order,” he replied pertly, and you chuckled at the quick reply.
“You’re unusually quiet,” you pointed out. “It feels weird without your informational accompaniment.”
“Apologies,” Tech answered, still refusing to meet your gaze. “A numerous variety of concerns are vying for my attention and while I am able to entertain many simultaneously, there appear to be significantly more than usual.”
“What’s on your mind?” you asked, squeezing yourself a little closer. You loved the chance to hear him open up a little. He spoke often of anything and everything in the galaxy, but spoke little of his internal world. When he did let you in, it was enthralling and enchanting, always leaving you wanting more. But you didn’t want to press, so you waited and watched for the occasions where he was willing to respond to your invitation to vulnerability.
“I have no wish to burden you as well.”
“Tech,” you said softly, touching his arm again but leaving your hand on it this time. His golden eyes finally lifted to yours, sending a thrill down your spine. His mouth was in a thin line as you continued, “It’s not a burden… I really enjoy hearing your thoughts.” You were always soft with him, but something about this sudden fragility made you want to cup his face in your hands and whisper affirmation and affection. You’d long since stuffed down your little crush on him, realizing it wasn’t something he would ever reciprocate and therefore would only lead to disappointment. But you still took whatever you could get, relishing any sense of closeness with the intelligent engineer.
“While I am appreciative of your desire to be supportive and attentive,” he began, awkwardly fidgeting with his hands at his sides, “I would prefer to have them a bit more organized before sharing.”
Now you were really curious. And equally obligated to respect his privacy and wishes. But somehow it made your heart yearn even more. Whatever this was, this moment of being suddenly off-balance, it felt like the space between you was electrically charged… And the magnetic pull you felt toward him was amplified beyond anything you’d felt before.
“I understand,” you said, idly brushing your thumb back and forth across his forearm as you looked at his gloved hands. You edged a little closer, drawn in by the way he studied you with a new curiosity, as though there were a new facet he’d just discovered that he was eager to explore. He was simultaneously alluring and cautious, and you were thoroughly hooked. “Does this bother you?” you asked, nodding toward your hand on his arm.
“No.”
A small smile ghosted across your face and you hummed contentedly in response. An invisible force was pushing you, encouraging you on, and you looked back up to his face, turning slightly in the narrow corridor to face him fully. Clearly and slowly, so he could stop you at any moment, you lifted your other hand to his cheek, trying to steady your shaking fingers as you brushed the backs of them across it before opening them to stroke it with your thumb. He was frozen in place, eyes now moving rapidly from yours to the ground to the wires to anything and everything else he could spot.
“Does this?” you whispered, irresistibly leaning in a little closer.
“No,” he breathed, closing his eyes in an attempt to focus his swirling mind. It was a shockingly new sensation that felt like it deserved significant time and attention to process appropriately, and yet he found himself simply wanting to commit it all to memory, to be fully present and soak it all up. The vulnerability on his dashing features made your heart swell in your chest, and you continued on, propelled by the momentum and the thrill of it all.
You left your hand on his cheek, breathing through your mouth as you tilted your head and lightly rested your forehead on his. His sharp inhale was the only response, and he left his eyes closed. It hit you like a ton of bricks suddenly – he trusted you. For someone who always had as complete an understanding of any situation as could be attained, he was wildly out of his element here. Yet he wasn’t frantically searching for the right answer or trying to escape, and you were thoroughly enamored.
He kissed you.
Tingles washed over you from head to toe and it took you a second to realize what was happening. With a quick tip of his chin, his lips had met yours, pressing gently and precariously. You snaked an arm around his waist, lightly resting it on his hips, and snuggled a little closer, never wanting it to end. You were both uncomfortably cramped, shifting around each other in attempts to get arms and legs more comfortably nestled together, but it was fruitless.
When he finally did pull away, taking an immediate deep breath, your absolute bliss was interrupted by a sharp tug on your head. You gasped as he made his own sound of surprised distaste, and you peered through your hair to see his goggles crooked on his face. He was trying to get his arms up to his own face, impeded by both your body and the wiring panels, and you unsuccessfully tried to suppress a chuckle as you realized what was going on. The small instrument on the side of his goggles had somehow snagged a decently-sized chunk of your hair, and the slightest of motions the two of you had made together had thoroughly tangled them together.
“Oh my gosh,” you laughed, flushed with excitement and embarrassment and everything else all at once. “Sorry… Here, let me get my…” you drifted off, trying to get your own hands to your head for an assist. Somehow that made things worse, and you accidentally smacked his wrist against his goggles, pushing them further to the side and jabbing them into his nose.
“This is not ideal,” Tech muttered, attempting to unwind the hairs warped around the tiny space between the goggle strap and the recorder. His fruitless endeavor finally led him to pull the goggles off completely, giving you the freedom to stand up straight again. You rubbed the back of your neck, heart still fluttering in your chest as you smiled at his peevish squint.
“Not ideal, no,” you agreed, reaching a hand over his to free the goggles from your hair. “But certainly memorable.”
“I posit that it would have been memorable with or without the unnecessarily distracting interruption,” he said, taking his goggles from your outstretched hand and pulling them back into place. As he blinked at you with a mixture of embarrassment and uncertainty, you diffused the situation with a comical little eyebrow waggle.
“Why don’t we test that theory?”

Genre: Absolute fluff, pure goodness
Warnings: Bad Batch antics
Day 4 of the New Years Drabble Series! Randomly timed in celebration of the premier of the new season!
“Alright, let’s go ‘Mega, got to do your hair,” you called out, patting the spot in front of you.
“Can you do it just like yours?” Omega asked, eyes twinkling.
“We can see. Your hair is a bit short, but I’ll try my best.” Across the ship, you heard a loud thud, causing both you and the young one in front of you to freeze. You didn’t bother to look up knowing that it was just normal chaos, and continued brushing Omega’s hair
“Wrecker!” Echo yelled. “You keep swinging your big head around like that and you’ll destroy the ship!
“My ship,” Tech pointed, never tearing his view away from in front of him.
“Come on Echo. My head’s not that big,” Wrecker pouted.
“It is significantly larger than any of our heads. At least an inch large in circumference.” Tech added.
“Why do you use such big words, nobody understands them,” Wrecker said.
“I think everyone understood that. There’s no need to be so emphatic about it.”
“See again! Did any of you understand that? Hunter? Y/N?” Wrecker whipped around to ask.
“No comment,” you responded. Hunter just rolled his eyes. The argument continued, you zoned it out and went back to Omega’s hair.
“Y/N?”
“Hmm?” You looked down at the little girl in front of you.
“What was your family like?” Omega asked.
“Why do you ask?” You continued, starting a braid in her hair.
“Well, it’s just that I have my brothers, they’re my family, and I wonder what yours must have been like.”
“As you know, I was a Jedi. The Jedi are taken when they are very young to learn the ways of the force. So I never knew my family, all I knew were the Jedi. At times it could be very lonely. We were told not to form attachments. All we had was the Force. I thought about looking for my family, but I never did.  And then once upon a time, I was assigned to this rag-tag group of clones. They were loud and rambunctious. They never really cared for rules which was the opposite of what I was used to, but it was refreshing. They were strong and they moved concisely, never failing in completing a mission. They claimed it was because of their abilities but the truth was, it was because of how close they were. They could communicate, even if most of the time it was to scream at one another.” Omega laughed. Looking up at the argument that was still going on, now including Hunter. “I stayed because there was something about the group. And they took me in. We fought together, laughed together, and cared for one another. They protected me when Order 66 happened. And then I realized I didn’t need to look for my family, it was right in front of me.”
“But how are they your family if you don’t share blood?” Omega asked, looking up at you.
“Something I learned from them. Family has nothing to do with relation but is instead all about the love and care you have for one another.” You paused looking down at Omega’s finished hair. “All done!” You patted her shoulder. Omega bolted up and ran straight toward the chaos, desperate to show off her new hair.
“Guys! Look at my hair! Y/N did it! And they told me all about their family!” You smiled at her antics.
“Family?” Echo called out.
“Jedi don’t have family,” Tech answered.
“You never told us about your family!” Wrecker again pouted.
“Well clearly it was not pertinent at the time, so they didn’t need to tell us nor did they want to,” Tech added.
“Didn’t we just talk about you using big words nobody understands?” Wrecker cried out, and another argument ensued and Omega just turned around to you and winked.
Your family.

Crosshair x medic reader
A trip to the Outpost along with a clone who refuses to tell you his name… What’s the worst that can happen?
Angst / Fluff
Pt 2 of Sunrise
“Crosshair…” I squinted my eyes from the light shining over me.
I felt the coolness of an operation table underneath me as I tried to gather my senses. I came quick to the conclusion that I was in some kind of a medbay. I don’t like the wave of nausea that came with the movement of trying to look around at my surroundings.
The walls were clearly a silver, shining as if it were sterilized a hundred times. The room was an average size for a medbay, set with medical equipment set up to oversee patients.
Movement to the right startled me as I quickly looked toward that direction. There stood a woman dress in white, her brown hair tied back as she typed away on her holopad. Behind her stood two armed storm troopers.
“You’re awake. Good.” The unfamiliar voice stated as she glanced over at me.
“Who are you?” I asked her.
“I am a nurse who will be overseeing your conditions.” She replied.
“There’s no need… I’m a medic.” I stated slowly as I tried to think of where I could be, “I can oversee my own medical care, thank you.”
This certainly wasn’t on the transport ship or the facility I was stationed at in Coruscant before I was sent here.
“Where… Where am I?” I asked as I blinked away the stinging in my eyes, “I don’t recognize this place.”
“You’re in a medbay. You have committed treason and the empire sent you here. But don’t worry, the doctor has some use for you.” The voice murmured.
“I didn’t commit treason…” I spoke slowly as I tried to recall the events when I was station at the outpost.
Everything came back in a blink of an eye and suddenly I was trying to get out of my restraints.
Crosshair. Where was Crosshair?
I immediately felt the panic rise in me as I tried to sit up, “What about Crosshair? Where is he? He didn’t do anything wrong, I swear! It was the Lieutenant, he was the one who was dangerous. He let a trooper die and he tried to kill-”
“You need to relax.” The nurse quickly signaled for the storm troopers to hold me down.
“Don’t… Hurt… Him…” I muttered as I felt myself slipping, “Please.”
It wasn’t long before a needle pierced my skin. My senses fleeing from my body into the abyss of darkness.
The next time I came to, I found myself in a holding cell. The bars of ruby stone, glared at me as I pushed myself up from the cold mat underneath me.
Was what we had done so wrong that we had to be sent here? I wondered. Where is here exactly? Why won’t they tell me anything?
“This must be a secret facility of some sorts.” I whispered to myself.
That was the only reason I could think of. I crawled as close to the ray shield as I could, inspecting any fault in it.
“Looking for a weakness in the shield won’t help.” A gruff voice stated across from me, “You can’t get out of here, trust me.”
I looked straight ahead to find a clone leaning against a wall in his cell. He stared straight ahead without so much as glancing my way.
“How long have I been out?” I wondered as the dizzying haze began to ware off slowly, but surely.
“Four days.”
Four days? That’s not good.
“Do you know where we are?” I asked him.
“We are being held on a base somewhere on a remote planet. No one can find us out here.” He answered grimly.
My brows furrowed, “Why were we taken to a place like this? Why not a trial or to a coruscant prison?”
“I dont know for you, but us clones are being tested on. That’s why my vods and I have been captured and placed here.” He stated.
My eyes widened at the information, “No… That would mean they plan to hurt Crosshair.”
Suddenly his head turned towards me in surprise. I could see a clear scar on the side of his face as he studied me.
“You know Crosshair?” He asked.
I nodded, “I met him on an assignment that didn’t end well for the both of us and now we’re here. At least now I know for certain we haven’t been separated.”
He nodded in understanding, “He’s come to his sense about the empire then.”
“We both have.” I muttered, “How do you know him?”
“Back during the New Republic. Worked with him and his team a few times.” He answered.
“It’s nice to meet you then.” I trailed off.
“Cody.” He introduced himself.
I quickly returned the favor, relieved to meet a new friend and possible ally, “Nice to meet you Cody.”
“I never knew he had a team.” I said after a few moments of silence, “Well I knew because each clone has a squad of course, but he never talked about them.”
“Clone Force 99. They called themselves the Bad Batch.” Cody answered.
I snorted in amusement, “That sounds about right. He seems very standoffish.”
“Crosshair is a man set in his ways. It was his brothers, who kept him in line especially one by the name of Hunter, but now… It is rare for anyone to get close to him.” Cody admitted, “The last mission we were on together...”
“You don’t have to say anything if you don’t want to.” I intervened.
He nodded, “He was too loyal to the empire just as I was, but I’m glad to see he is starting to change his ways. Slowly, but surely.”
“He didn’t even tell me his name until right before we were taken.” I sighed looking at my hands, “But Crosshair… He saved me and I don’t even know how to repay him.”
“Being alive is enough of a payment as any.” Cody’s tone was sad as he looked ahead of him, undoubtably slipping into an old memory.
Suddenly footsteps were coming down the hall and the two of us quickly broke off our conversation. Him leaning against a wall in his cell as I crawled back to my thin mat.
I had just sat down when a new face greeted me at the front door to my cell.
“Ah. You must be the medic.” He grinned maliciously, “I can see why he’s so protective of a pretty thing like you. This should be fun.”
My eyes squinted into a glare, “You must be the doctor.”
“Smart girl too.” He stated un seemingly impressed, “Then you will know better then to try and cause a scene yes? Otherwise you won’t ever see the clone again.”
I stood up swiftly, “Where is he?”
“Why don’t you follow me and see for yourself?” He turned off the ray shield that was keeping me locked in my cell.
Without waiting to see if I would follow him, he began to walk away. It was as if he knew I wouldn’t defy him and he was right. How could I when he was leading me to the man who has changed my very world around?
I glanced discretely at Cody before following after the doctor as the guards trailed close behind me. His look of concern didn’t go unnoticed by me and I made a silent promise to tell him how Crosshair was as soon as I got back.
“What have you done to him?” I asked keeping some distance from the eery looking man.
His very being left me unnerved with distaste as if he were the very embodiment of an evil madman hungry for power.
“Nothing I haven’t done to any other clone before.” He replied simply as if what he was doing wasn’t that bad.
Maybe he was…
He’s acting like I know who and what his experiments are… I don’t even know the man. From the tilted chin and long stride he must work closely with powerful people. Maybe the surprime chancellor? If so then we were absolutely screwed.
“Here we are.” The doctor stated.
I looked to my left and found myself standing in front of another cell. Though this one made me want to dive head first into the red shield.
“Crosshair!” I cried out in relief, taking a step forward as the ray shield dissipated.
Crosshair was quick to stand up though his movement was slower than usual. His three long strides and my quick paced ones were met in the middle of his cell.
It was as if we were water and oil. Wanting to fall into each others warmth, but stopping just within reach.
He placed his hands on my arms as he looked me over for any possible injuries while I did the same to him.
“I’m alright.” I confirmed, placing my hand over one of his, “Are you?”
That seemed to calm him and he nodded in return. His heated gaze turned towards the doctor with malice.
“She’s not involved in any of this.” Crosshair growled as he pushed me behind him as if he could shield me from the world.
Maybe he could or he would sure as hell try to.
“Let her go Hemlock.” Crosshair all, but growled.
So the madman’s name was Hemlock.
“Now now.” Hemlock stepped forward, “There is no need to get worked up.” He chuckled.
Moving to the right side of the room, Hemlock trailed his hand along the muted grey wall, “This is your fault after all.”
“How so?” I glared at the man, “He didn’t do anything wrong.”
“Oh, but he did.” Hemlock’s gaze locked onto Crosshair, “He is going against the empire by keeping secrets and now Crosshair…” He sighed for dramatic effect, “You have left me with no choice, but to bring your little friend into this. If you won’t give me the information I need then I must use… Other methods to obtain it.”
“What information?” I asked.
“I need to know where the clone girl is.” Hemlock replied as a nurse, the same nurse who stuck a needle in me a few days ago walked up behind him.
“I don’t know anything about a clone girl.” I replied quickly, “I didn’t even know a clone girl existed.”
“Oh I know you don’t know, darling.” He said and his endearing word made me want to throw up.
Hemlock’s eyes gleamed in the lights above us before his grin was directed back towards Crosshair, “But he does. It’s your choice trooper. The clone girl or your little girlfriend here.”
I looked towards the sniper to see the conflict clear across his face. It was easy to see that whoever the girl was, she meant something to him. My heart ached, knowing that I would be putting myself into harms way, but if she really was important then she needed to be protected from this deranged doctor at all costs.
I knew deep down he wouldn’t say a word, but I wouldn’t put myself first. How could I? My life over a girl who was technically his sister?
Whether he knew his answer or not I wouldn’t make him choose. I could handle a little pain.
From as little as I have known him, I knew for a fact that Crosshair was, a fierce protector and loyal friend. At least that was the man I saw dragging Mayday back to the outpost before all of this mayhem went down.
I quickly turned the sniper towards me, “You are strong and unyielding Crosshair.” I spoke as quickly as I could, “I’ll be okay, don’t tell them anythin-mmph!”
A hand was wrapped around my mouth to keep me from screaming as a storm trooper dragged me to the cell next to his while the others strapped Crosshair back on his table.
The red shield came back up once everyone except for Crosshair was out of his cell.
“I know how easy you clones can get passed visual horror, so how about you listen to her scream. It’ll make you want to claw your eyes out wondering what is being done to her.” Hemlock smirked at the memory, “I’ve seen it happen to a prisoner here once. His lover sadly didn’t make it after the… Trials.”
“Trials?” Crosshair asked nervously.
“New drugs I’ve been working on meant to incapacitate and cause sever hallucinations in the subject. So far it has only resulted in death, but maybe your girl will make it through.”
“I will kill you.” Crosshair all but growled, his eyes holding a fierce promise.
“Oh I know you’ll try, but you won’t succeed.” Hemlock snapped his fingers for the nurse to begin.
Crosshair all, but winced as the first piercing scream came from the medics lips. He barely knew her… She all, but irritated him when she showed up at his side at the loading dock, but by the force above he wouldn’t tare that man’s throat out for hurting her.
It went on for what felt like years, each day being dragged from my cell to the one next to him. Barely any words of consomment as they dragged me past him. Each needle prickling my skin as they drugged me with painful concoctions that made my skin burn and felt as if they were dousing me with lava. I could barely move my muscles as flashes of memories and horrors of war filled the cell around me as if I was back in the trenches, patching up as many soldiers as I could.
“What are they doing to you?” Cody asked once the guards tossed me back into my cell.
“They need…” My eyes closed from the pain of my voice that was hoarse from screaming, “Information.”
“What information do you have?” He asked.
“Not me…” I groaned.
Cody’s eyes lightened in understanding, “Crosshair.”
By the seventh day, I could barely keep my eyes open. The pain felt like a dull ache becoming apart of my skin. It wasn’t until I felt hands dragging me to another cell that I realized I was in Crosshair’s arms and my body sank into his.
I groaned in pain as he tugged me as gently as he was able to towards his chest to check my condition. I knew I was covered in dark purplish bruises, a side affect caused from the drug. I wanted to ease his worry, but I could barely form one coherent sentence.
“What have they done to you…”
If I wasn’t so close to him, I wouldn’t have heard those broken words that fell from his chapped lips. I chose to not tell him what they were doing and instead I asked him about something I’ve been wondering since I first woke up in this dreaded place.
“Do you think it’s morning?” I whispered weakly.
“Save your strength.” He said gruffly.
I continued on anyways, my words sounding muffled in my own ears, “My favorite thing in the galaxy is a sunrise. I especially miss… The sunrises on Coruscant. The sunrises there had the sunlight glittering off the buildings like shimmering stars. The city bustling with life no matter if it was night or day. I miss the birds the most… They always wished me a good morning.” I laughed lightly before cringing at the pain.
“I don’t know how to ease your pain.” Crosshair muttered.
“M’fine.” I said trying not to worry him.
He only shook his head at the absurdity of my answer, “That’s stupid.”
I grinned slightly at the old Crosshair, the one I first met before this. We fell into a moment of quietness as he held me in the middle of the cell.
“Mom.” I whispered as I saw her as clear as day standing in the corner of the cell.
She smiled before blood began to stain her dress from the very slot she was shot.
“Mom…” I hiccuped, “No no no no no.” I shook my head as my breathing began to pick up, “You can’t die! You can’t leave me all alone again!”
Crosshair glanced towards the direction I was looking at, it was empty and bare.
Hallucinations. He remembered the doctor saying.
He looked back towards me in concern, “There’s no one there.” He tried to say as he held me closer to his chest, “Don’t look. Just close your eyes.”
I pressed my face into his shirt as I sobbed.
“Shh…” He tried his best to consol me, but the fear rose in his chest at my distress. His voice was merely a whisper as he said, “I don’t know how to help you.”
It was a long while before my visions became clear though any ounce of strength had fled from my body.
“You don’t need to save me.” I whispered when I was able to catch my breath, “She is your sister. Your family. You need to do whatever you can to keep her safe. Promise me.”
“I promise I will save you and the girl.” He stated with promise and truth.
This man who held so much determination and loyalty in his very being. He made it so very difficult to stop the warm feeling that I felt only for him seep deeper into my heart.
I smiled closing my eyes, “What do you miss most about your home?”
Crosshair thought for a moment, but one yearning of home overcame everything else that he missed.
“My brothers.” He stated simply as if it were his very heart.
“Siblings… I never had any siblings, but I know that for others they make their entire universe whole.” I muttered as began to drift off, “I hope you find them again one day.”
He pressed his lips to the top of my head, his fingers curling around my head, “You’ll see a sunrise again, I promise.”
“Have you had enough now?” Hemlock asked as he motioned towards me, “It seems that she has.”
“Enough of this.” Crosshair hissed, “Torture me all you want, but stop hurting her. Let her go.”
“You have shown that you can wait and torture during your little attempt to break out. She however, can not and I will gladly set her free if you tell me where the clone girl is.” He stated with a wave of his hand, “If not I can just up her dosage.”
Crosshair clenched his fist in anger, “I don’t know anything!” Crosshair glared, “I have been with the empire all this time.”
Hemlock raised an eyebrow, “We can keep going if you don’t tell me where she is.”
“Don’t…” I muttered as I slipped in and out of consciousness.
“You can torture us all you want. I don’t know where they are.” Crosshair growled.
“You do.” Hemlock confirmed, “I know you do.”
“I won’t tell you anything so just kill me and let her go free.” Crosshair growled.
Hemlock stared at the clone, thinking over his next words carefully, “You will tell me what I need to know when she is on the very brink of death and she will have no one to blame accept for you to leave her to that dismal fate.”
Crosshair took in a sharp breath, watching as multiple storm troopers gathered around Hemlock. He watched the doctor turn off the ray shields.
“Take her away.” Hemlock stated and like the first time he saw her alive here, the storm troopers were coming once again to take her from him.
Crosshair quickly lean down just before they reach the two sat on the cold floors.
He pressed his lips as softly as he was able to on top of her head as he whispered, “Hang in there a little longer sunrise, help is coming.”

Movie Night!
Movie night with the bad batch!!!
Tumblr media
Honestly I’ve been having so much fun writing these little drabbles. If you have any suggestions let me know. If the writing is a little rough feel free to leave comments - if it’s grammar oriented sorry I’m not changing I’ve always been bad at it 🤷🏼‍♀️
Summary: it’s movie night with the batch!
Pairings: hunter/reader, wrecker/reader, tech/reader, echo/reader, crosshair/reader, bad batch group/reader
Warnings: none! Mostly fluff, mentions of wine and kissing. Implications of spicy time but nothing explicitly mentioned
Reader is gender neutral
Thanks for reading!!!! 🥰
Hunter:
~ After a long day of finalizing intel for the next mission you and Hunter decide to have a low key movie night before you have to be away for the next few rotations. You ready your living room with a cozy blanket and some comfy pillows and get ready to settle in
~ Hunter is a movie theater butter popcorn kinda guy. It’s a classic and you can’t go wrong. Occasionally he likes to sprinkle chocolate candies in with the popcorn for a salty/sweet combination.
~ Hunter likes movies where he doesn’t have to think too hard, something that’s entertaining but also doesn’t involve a lot of brain power. Poor man is exhausted from having to be the sole impulse control of the batch 87.3 percent of the time. Tbh he absolutely would go for a movie like Jumanji - any of the renditions. Perfect amount of comedy, action and adventure
~ He tries real hard but he dozes off during the middle of the movie quietly snoring on your shoulder. You smirk as you gently nudge him and he gives you the old adage “I was just resting my eyes, I know exactly what’s going on”. You roll your eyes and gently kiss the top of his head as he quickly dozed back off.
Wrecker:
~ Wrecker is an action comedy kinda man. Occasionally action romance if he’s feeling extra spicy with you 🤭 Tonight in particular he’s feeling a good laugh. You and him spent the day training so he’s extra hungry. You aim for takeout as your movie snack. You’ve got the family entre and sides and you’re both devouring it!
~ The movie tonight is Bullet Train because you’ve seen good reviews and it is RIGHT up Wrecker’s alley! He is belly laughing through the whole movie and doesn’t tease you when you snuggle into his shoulder when it gets just a bit too gruesome. “Don’t worry babe! I’ll tell you when it’s safe to look again!” He says as you hide your face in his shoulder for the 5th time.
~ Wrecker likes to talk through movies so you’re often pausing so you can both get your thoughts and theories out. You don’t mind you like to hear what he has to say. The best part is talking about your theories of who’s behind the plot sometimes you’re right and then you’re wrong then right again. You’re both laughing and giggling the whole time.
~when the movie is over though you two snuggle on the couch and talk about your favorite parts, what scenes looked the coolest and who was the best actor. You stay that way well into the night until you’ve both passed out.
Tech:
~ this man COMMITS to movie night. He comes fully prepared with snacks, and sets up with a whole charcuterie board for the both of you with a paired wine. He also commits to being as comfy as possible. He pulls the gray sweatpants look because he knows you like it. It’s a treat for after the movie. You two cuddle up in the softest blanket he bought for you from a local trader
~ tonight’s movie is Glass Onion because Tech loves a mystery. He loves to see if he can figure out the mystery before the end of the movie. Like wrecker he is a chatter during the movie but mainly to himself. Muttering and mumbling his observations aloud. You find it cute. Tech also, very briefly imitates Benoit Blanc in a line that he found extra amusing. “Dear this movie is how do I say,” he pauses to find the right accent “brilliant!”
~ tech always watches a movie with rapt attention but as you cozy up to him he will gently and mindlessly rub your back or card his fingers through your hair. When the movie ends however he gently litters your face with soft kisses as you talk about your favorite parts of the movie. He loves listening to you and watching your eyes sparkle with amusement as you chatter on.
Echo:
~ Echo is a closet fantasy lover. He’s also a comfort movie watcher. So when he gets the chance he’s watching Lord of the Rings with you. And it. Is. A. Marathon. He doesn’t get a lot of days off with the batch but by gods is he making this a whole day. He helps you prep all of your favorite snacks the day before so you have them ready. When you wake up that morning the living room is set to a cozy level of 11/10.
~ Echo loves to cuddle while watching a movie, he was worried at first you might find him uncomfortable with some of his cybernetics but it really doesn’t bother you. You love to sit between his legs and lean your back up against his chest so he can rest his chin atop your head.
~ occasionally he sneaks some of the snacks designated for you even though he’s a firm believer in the tradition of his snacks. You don’t say anything of course so you can encourage him trying new foods.
~ yes, Echo of course points out the scene where Aragorn breaks his toe when he kicks the helmet so his scream is real.
~ by the end though Echo has gotten side tracked, he’s seen these movies a bunch of times and is absolutely raptured by your beauty so he takes pause breaks to be…devoted to you should you wish it 😏
Crosshair:
~ Man is a HOPELESS ROMANTIC AT HEART. You are absolutely watching a rom com or Bridgerton or SOMETHING of the sort. He loves when you get to see the soft side of him because only you get to see it.
~ He’s always rooting for the couple and if you are watching Bridgerton he likes to see you get a little hot and bothered and starts whispering sweet nothings in your ear as he plays with your hair.
~ movie night for you two is much less about the movie and more about quality time with noise in the background. If food is included it’s the sensual foods, ones that you can jokingly feed to each other.
~ the one time you did make popcorn on your first movie night you tried to see how many you could toss into each others mouths. You were cleaning up kernels for a month after
Group:
~ Omega picks the movie of course. She goes for a solid movie that all of her brothers and her might like. She chooses Kung Fu Panda because she suspects all of her brothers will find something to enjoy about it.
~ Omega and Wrecker giggle the entire time. Hunter is shushing Tech who keeps pondering about a Pandas ability to actually do kung fu - Echo relates hard to master shifu and crosshair is enjoying seeing his baby sister enjoy a movie so much that he even cracks a small smile.
~ it’s a classic family movie night complete with pizza and homemade milkshakes and popcorn and earlier that day you and Omega set up a blanket fort for all of you to snuggle into.
~ By the time you’ve made it to Kung Fu Panda 3 only you and Omega are awake, all the boys are fast asleep. Omega is curled up with her head in your lap fighting sleep because she so desperately wants to finish the movie but by the end, she too is fast asleep.
~you softly chuckle at the cuddle puddle around you and cover up omega with a blanket and you turn off the TV and allow yourself to drift off - content and happy with your boys around you.

Catching the Jitterbug
Tech x Reader Fluff
Summary: Being put into the Bad Batch was something good for you, a turning point in your life. And it was certainly a crazier one when you had found feelings for the technician of the team. Was there anything that could stop you from staring at him?
Warnings: shy!reader, fluffffffff, mentions of Crosshair, the awkwardness of my brain
A/n: I write Tech really poorly, I'm very sorry. :(

GIF NOT MINE!!
•--•
He'd almost caught you once again. As you splashed water on your face, you exhaled with a soft breath. Hunter surely felt your heart rate increase, heard the heavy exhale you had made when you first introduced yourself to the refresher after Tech had looked over at you. Hunter heard everything. Stupid stupid stupid.
You had caught yourself accidentally looking at Tech quite a bit in the past few months. It was a habit you had attempted to throw out the window, to completely remove from your life, but it never seemed to disappear. You'd never tell him that you felt this striking interest whenever you looked over in his general direction, but you did. And if anyone knew at all, it was Hunter. The stupid sergeant and his stupid little senses that made you feel insecure to be in the same room as Tech because if Tech couldn't tell that you were so infatuated in him, then Hunter could. And Tech had absolutely clueless for once in his life.
Tech was smart, smarter than many living creatures for that fact. Though he wasn't smart enough to catch the hint that everytime he caught or almost caught you staring, it wasn't because you were waiting to ask him a question. It was because everytime you looked at him, he was always so in his element. He was downright adorable while working, so focused. And when he spoke to you, he tended to ramble. Fuck it made your heart swell - he was so cute when he got into one of his lectures.
You had dreamt of being next to him, allowing yourself to cuddle into his side as he worked on whatever he was doing. He was good at working while being pushed around by the boys. It made you think about how easy it would be to slip into his arms while he tinkered with whatever project he had going on or while he was reading something on his datapad.
You finally came out of the small, clustered refresher, seeing that Tech's eyes were focused back on his datapad (like always) and Hunter's were looking at you. Wrecker and Echo were outside with training targets set up, teaching Omega how to shoot her bow. You missed the kid and her big hugs even if she was just outside.
"Everything.. alright, Y/n?" Hunter asked, leaning a bit forward from his sitting position. He knew that he knew, faker. You hummed an approving noise as you back down next to the sergeant. You wanted to punch him square in the jaw, but you put that off for another day. Hunter gave you a bit more room, pulling his legs together from when he was man-spreading.
You cleared your throat, gaining the partial attention from Tech as well, "Has Cid called us back yet?"
Hunter only shrugged, "No, said she'll have a mission soon."
The silence clouded the room once again. They really didn't do that much when there was no repairs, this had been the first time in forever that the ship had been cleared for being okay. We'd all almost thought it was one of Tech's dry jokes, that's how much of a tendency we had for repairs. And it absolutely sucked to have nothing to do all day. You should've offered to help train Omega. Or just went back to bed when the Marauder landed on Ord Mantell. Those were both better alternatives than sitting in silence with a man you had a crush on and the only man that knew. Crosshair knew too. But you didn't like talking, or even thinking, about Crosshair.
You made a popping noise with your lips to clear the whole "awkward silence" thing, "I think I'm gonna visit her for a little and get a drink, I miss her attitude."
"That's a first," Tech muttered. As you stood up, you realized he was also on his feet. You didn't want to ask what he was doing, he could stand whenever he wanted to, it was just a coincidence that he also stood up when you had.
"Would you mind if I joined you?"
You looked at him with something between shock and nervousness. You hadn't been so nervous with anyone in your life before you had met the nerdy Tech, was this what a genuine crush felt like? You nodded frantically, realizing you'd stood there for a second too long just looking at him. You didn't that a lot, it became a sort of habit that everyone got used to.
"Sorry, I just.. zoned out I guess," you apologized, leaving your helmet on the table you were sitting at and starting your way down the gangplank.
Tech seemed to follow after you quickly, attempting to catch up. It wasn't odd for him to do that, he most likely had something on his mind that he wanted to share. And you were all there for it. You looked over at him, taking in his features - handsome with these soft caramel eyes, hidden by his goggles. You wanted to take them off for once, just to see what they actually looked like without the lens and all. They didn't seem to come off ever, though Crosshair used to always- never mind.
You thought of what the say to him, fuck you were staring again. Say something. What's new, Boo? No, that's too much for anyone of the boys to hear. Whaddup Tech! No, he's weird with your "civvi words."
"Hi."
Tech looked down at you with a soft expression. "Hello," he replied. He met your gaze for longer than you would have liked and you looked away again, face darkening. "Is there something you have to say?"
"I-uh no, I just thought I'd say hi since you're, y'know, walking next to me and all."
Gah! You felt your heart rate go through the roof. Why was he so intimidating? Well, he wasn't intimidating but he was Tech and Tech made you nervous and-
He pressed the back of his hand to your forehead, "Your forehead is steaming, Y/n, are you feeling unwell? Maybe we shouldn't visit Cid, it would be ideal that you get some rest."
He stopped, making you also stop as well. He was peering down at you now, hunched over to force eye contact. "If you would like, I have been researching a few home remedies in case a situation like such were to occur with your body."
"No, I'm fine Tech, I just need a drink is all," you spoke, looking back to the path in front of you. You started to walk away, but Tech grabbed your arm, pulling you back into a stumble and putting both of his hands on your shoulders. It kept you in place, letting him look down at you with knitted brows.
"I think that drinking will be the last thing that you do. I will not let you drink under your condition," you heard a slight waver in his voice as he lectured you. Tech? Worried? No, that didn't happen, and on the off chance it did, he had enough confidence in himself to distribute to the entirety of the clone army (they obviously don't need anymore though).
"Tech, I'm not sick. You never pestered Wrecker like this when he was sick."
Tech pushed his goggles further into the bridge of his nose, "Well, Wrecker usually sleeps off his illness fairly quick. You, on the other hand, are small and do not sleep as deeply as Wrecker sleeps."
You tilted your head, nose slightly scrunched as you glared up at him. You were slightly annoyed, not even hot in the face anymore. You forgot that Tech's hands were still on you, letting up from how tense they once were. "What about when Echo caught that bug from Nal Hutta?"
Tech cleared his throat, staring at me while he shuffled through answers to that question in his head. He had an answer to everything, but this - maybe not. Nal Hutta was a disgusting place that you never wanted to visit again, infested with disease and gunk everywhere. It was no surprise Echo got sick. He was upset the whole time and Tech cared about him physically of course but never ordered him to bedrest unless it was to keep him at a healthy amount of sleep.
"Simply because I knew he would be alright. I monitored his temperature, electrolyte intake and I made sure that he was eating exactly the right amount. Did I not?" Tech was always in matter-of-fact mode, so much so that you had almost thought maybe he won this small feud between you two. Being able to use such big words with certainty of what they meant, he could say the most random nonsense and you would have absolutely no clue if it was correct or not. You always assumed it was 100%, he was never wrong.
"You never ordered him to bedrest, you never made him a home remedy."
Tech stopped, his brain was working overtime - how would he get himself out of this? You stared up at him with a competitive glint in your eye, the one you had on the battlefield, always pushing back at him; he was the brains but you were the "brawn". You always had a comeback up your sleeve, you always knew what to say in an emotional aspect. He envied that in a way, wanting to know what it was like to follow your heart, not a logical conclusion set up by a droid - or better yet, the excellence of Tech's brain.
He choked up slightly and you placed both of your hands on his wrists as he let them fall from your shoulders. Maker, you were so soft.
Your face was on fire. Was the temperature rising? If it was, Tech didn't say anything. Gosh this was the worst you had ever been. Now that you were touching him, interacting with him without a wire or tool in your hand. You didn't remember the last time you had been alone with the man if it wasn't for work purposes. If there ever was a time.
"What's going on in that head of yours?" you asked, looking up at him with endearing eyes. His heart wretched at your face, wanting to just... he wanted to touch you. To hold you in his arms. Why did he feel hot all over? Was he also sick?
"I think that the sickness you are having, I have also contracted," he stated. He hoped you had understood. If it really was a sickness, then you could both go back to the ship and bunker down. That would be a simple explanation that would make this situation easy to diffuse. But if it was... something more, he didn't know how to tell you that in words. If he had to though, there was always to trying.
You smiled, shaking your head, "Tech, I don't have a sickness." As soon as you finished your sentence, your smile faded. Wait, he just said-
"Then, if my data is showing functionality, I do indeed harbor feelings for you."
You stared up at him, your lips parted. Your heart felt like it would beat out of your chest, into your throat and spit out of your mouth. Tech? Liked you? You thought you were absolutely out of his league. He never even seemed like he took interest in love, or even people in general. He always put his research and beloved datapad first that it almost escaped you that Tech could have secrets that he never shared, such as being interested in you.
"Tech, I-," you paused, swallowing and looking away from him. Your skin itched like you didn't belong in it, "I like you too."
It was like waiting for fireworks to go off, the anticipation scary. That's what he meant, right? Maker, he looked so adorable at that moment, face tinted pink, his fingers fiddling with something on his utility belt. Such as he had with his own hands earlier, you forgot you were touching him. Your hands no longer kept his wrists still, just flowed with the movement of his hands.
"May I... kiss you?" he asked, his hands already reaching up towards your face. You smiled, guiding his hands up to cup your cheeks. You then lowered your own, pressing them against his chest plate. He leaned down, pressing his lips against yours.
You never expected them to be so soft. Maker, you were lucky that he liked you out of so many sentient beings in the universe - you could kiss him for hours, days, weeks, years. You could have stood there and wasted the daylight away while kissing and never regretted a thing. When he pulled away, he kept his face only inches from yours. His forehead was softly laying on your own, goggles nudging at your brows but you didn't have a care in the world for that. You had just released so much weight off your shoulders from a simple kiss. You felt so alive, and free.
"You are certainly a perfect specimen," he stated, looking into your eyes with a crooked smile. Maybe that wasn't true if he wanted to try running experiments. Though, his statement didn't seem like a hypothesis, it seemed like a resolution.
"And you are the biggest nerd I have ever met. I love it more than I have ever loved anything."

Downtime with Hunter was always a blessing when it arrived. The others were busy, doing their own thing whilst you and Hunter did yours.
Usually, a walk or a trip to a nice cantina is the usual for you both but today you wanted to just lay back, relax and let all the troubles of war fade away.
So what better way to relax other than to lay in a bunk all day, cuddled up with a holomovie on. The movie itself was trash but atleast that can always get a good laugh out of you both. He hates corny movies half of the time but corny movies with terrible acting however? He’s a sucker for it.
When you first started dating many moons ago, you always prepared yourself to not have these types of moments with Hunter. Fearing that his senses would be overstimulated, you began to accept that cuddling and peppering kisses over each other would be a rarity.
That all changed however when one day you’re walking past him in his bunk and feel his arms snake around you as fast as lightning and pull you straight into him. He drowns you in his arms and blanket and gives you the most surprising cuddle of your life. Turns out he is quite the affectionate one.
Ever since, days of just laying together and cuddling became more frequent and you’d have it no other way.
“Mesh’la, what are you thinking about?” You didn’t realise that you had zoned out and missed the last ten minutes of the movie until Hunter whispered into your ear.
A warm sensation runs down your neck and you laugh softly, rolling onto your back and look up at him as he hunches a little over you. “Nothing. Other than the fact I’m the luckiest person in the galaxy.”
Hunter smirks but then shakes his head. “I don’t think you are.”
Frowning, you make a joking swipe at his arm playfully. “You know I don’t like it when you talk down about yourself Hunter.” You pout but are just welcomed with a gentle kiss to your lips.
“I’m not,” he objects, hand coming up to gentle trace his thumb along your left cheek, “I just said it because I think you’ll find that I am the luckiest person in the galaxy.” He muses charmingly.
You’re grinning, always a sucker for how much adoration he shows you so you lean your head against his shoulder and sigh happily. “Can’t believe we’ve been together almost a year.”
“I know.” Hunter smiles fondly, tilting his head to rest his cheek against your head. “Nobody I’d rather have spent it with.”
The two of you fall into a comfortable silence, Hunter sliding his holopad away in a small crook of his bunk before asserting the ‘big spoon’ position.
His left arm wraps around you, keeping you flushed to his chest whilst you use his right arm as a pillow. He hated it at first but after seeing how quickly you fell asleep against him this way, he begrudgingly let it happen. More often than not.
Both in worlds of your own, you’re thinking of all what has happened up to now. It was a risk to fall in love with a Clone - a Sergent at that - but the first moment you met him, you knew he was the one.
He cared for you like no other, respected your boundaries and took note of your likes and dislikes. He would always have a spare credit or two just for you if you need it and he would always listen. He never dismissed your ideas and would think of clever ways to work around the harder times.
Most of all, he just loved you.
You’re about to say something to Hunter but the moment a soft snore escapes his lips, you knew it could always wait until the later on that lazy afternoon.

The Calm Within the Storm
Tumblr media
Happy Star Wars Day you guys! I hope you are having a great day so far.
Background: You are a female padawan who suffers from PTSD
Summary: When a storm triggers some bad memories, Hunter is there to make you feel better Warnings: hurt/ comfort, mentions of PTSD (I think that’s it?)
You deflect shot after shot of blaster fire, just like Master Shaak Ti taught you. The clone troopers you once fought side by side with turned on you as you were leaving for Coursant, and now you were running for your life. You rush through the steril white halls of Kamino to one of the landing pads where Master Ti said there’d be a shuttle. She was supposed to be right behind you, but she insisted on holding off the clones to give you more time to escape, and you weren’t sure if she would make it.
You make it to the end of the hall and burst through the doors to the walkway that would take you to the shuttle. You pull your cloak tightly around you as heavy rain lashes against you, the wind howls, and thunder cracks overhead. As you run up the ship ramp you can hear the sound of clones, and they begin to fire their blasters. Shot after shot marks the hull as you quickly prep the ship and start the take off sequence. A bright light flashes and a heavy boom jars you as you are thrown against the controls, and you can feel the shuttle start to nose dive. The troopers must have damaged the hyperdrive, and you gasp as the churning seas of Kamino get closer and closer out the viewport. You brace for impact as the ship slams into the water, but you are thrown from the pilot's seat and hit the instrument panel with a sickening thump. Pain erupts from a spot on your head but the pain is soon overtaken by a wave of fear. The shuttle is slowly sinking below the waterline, so you run to the back of the ship and hit the button to lower the ramp.
Nothing happens.
You hit the button again, but receive the same results. You bang your fist against the wall as fear and a throbbing pain cloud your head. A blinding flash of white comes from the front of the ship, followed by a roll of loud thunder. You cry out and clap your hands over your ears. Sitting on the floor of the shuttle, you curl up and tears start to stream down your face as more booms rattle the ship. Everything seems hopeless when your master’s voice rings in your head. She wouldn’t want you to act this way, she would tell you to control your feelings and look for a way out. So you steady your breathing and stand up quickly, heading to the cockpit. You weren’t sure how far under the waterline you were, but you could use the force to propel yourself out of the water. Taking another breath, you realize you could also use the force to break the viewport. You place your hand on the glass, close your eyes, and picture the window shattering. A small noise can be heard over the booms of thunder and you can feel cold water filling up the ship. Opening your eyes, you see a hole with water rushing out, and wait for the water to completely fill the ship. You take a deep breath and swim out the hole, kicking off of the ship and using the force to lift you to the surface. Your lungs start to tighten and you start to doubt whether you will make it. Black dots start to creep along the sides of your vision, and now you are certain that any minute now your lungs are going to explode. By some miracle you break the surface and thank the force in between taking large gasps of air. As you tread water the storm above you gets worse. The rain lashes even harder as lightning splits the sky, thunder exploding and causing your heart to race. A huge wave crashes over you and the salt stings your eyes.
Another blast crashes through the air and you sit up, gasping for air. You are startled by the abrupt change in your surroundings; one moment you are on Kamino, the next you are sitting in a dark room. Slowly you come to recognize the bunk room on the Havoc Marauder, and untangle yourself from the wad of blankets that were trapping your legs. You swing them over the side of your bunk and place your bare feet on the cold floor. Suddenly a boom rattles the ship and you tense up, your heart rate picking up again. Your breathing hitches in your throat and a small sob escapes your lips. Another wave of thunder shakes the ship, causing the walls to rattle, and you decide to get up and walk to the cockpit. Maybe if you could see the lightning flash you would have at least some sort of warning. A few stray tears fall down your cheek but you brush them away as you reach the front of the Marauder, where you see that you aren’t the only one the storm is bothering.
Hunter sits in the copilot’s seat, his head propped up on his arm as he watches the rain lashing against the viewport. You would have thought he looked peaceful, if it weren’t for the waves of unease that you sense crashing in waves around him, and the slightly pained look on his face. Another roll of thunder causes you to jerk and whimper slightly, and Hunter spins around in his chair. A small smile tugs at the corners of his lips as he watches you tremble slightly.
“Can’t sleep either?” He asks in a low voice.
“N-not really,” you sniff, fighting against a tear that was threatening to slide down your cheek.
You see the flash of lightning outside the ship and quickly shut your eyes, plugging your ears and crying out. In a few quick strides Hunter comes over to you and wraps his strong arms around your trembling body.
“It’s alright kid, you're safe on the ship,” Hunter whispers.
He picks you up and takes you over to sit with him in the copilot’s seat. You open your eyes and look into Hunter’s tattooed face, which is cast in shadows but is filled with a gentle warmth. As more thunder rumbles you see Hunter’s face contort with pain, although he tries to hide it.
“The storm bothers your enhanced senses, doesn’t it?” You ask quietly.
“Yeah, but I’ve been dealing with it for a while now,” he replies.
The rain hammers harder against the ship and you begin to flash back to Kamino, to that moment you were trapped in the ship. It was sinking, and there seemed to be no escape, and that feeling of terror and pain engulfed your body. It suffocated you, and you were finding it hard to breathe, you felt like you were on the ship again, you were certain that you were going to die. You were spiraling out of control but you couldn’t stop your heart from rapidly beating, or the feeling of nausea that clenched the pit of your stomach.
“Kid, you gotta snap out of it. You’re okay, you’re safe.”
Hunter’s voice rings in your head, but it sounds far away, and detached.
“Hey, I need you to breathe with me, do you think you can do that?”
You try to respond but your throat feels dry and you can’t get the words out, so you try to nod.
“Good girl. Breathe in, and out, in, and out, come on cyare, breathe with me, “ says Hunter, his face swimming above mine.
Images flash in front of me, the waterline rising above the shuttle, my master’s face as she deflects blaster fire, Hunter’s face, the shuttle platform, hundreds of clone troopers, the cabin of the Marauder.
“I c-can’t,” you stutter.
“Yes you can. You’re safe, you’re protected, nothing can hurt you,” Hunter whispers.
Hunter holds you close to him and you can feel his heart beat in his chest. His arms tighten around you and his grip is firm, a steady anchor in your churning sea. You focus on his breath which you can feel on your face, and try to match his slow breathing.
“That’s it, slow your breathing down. You’re alright, just slow your breathing down a bit more.”
Your surroundings come back into focus, and you can feel your heartbeat slowing down. The storm is still going on outside, but is now a dull rumble, the rain is still heavy but now is very soothing, pattering against the Marauder.
“I-I’m sorry,” you say quietly, leaning into the comfort of Hunter’s strong arms as tears silently stream down your face.
“You don’t need to apologize, kid. You’re okay now, and that’s all that matters,” He says in a low voice.
“A-all that I c-could think about was Kamino. I-I was back on that sh-shuttle, I c-couldn’t get out. The storm reminded me of it,” you say.
“It’s all over now, the storm is over, see?” Hunter says as he rotates the seat so you can look out the viewport.
You nod and lean into Hunter, breathing in his scent, and slowly your tense shoulders begin to relax as you listen to the falling rain. Hunter starts to rock back and forth, humming a song to himself, and your eyelids feel heavy. You close your eyes and with the warmth and security you feel from Hunters’ strong arms, his gentle humming, and the falling rain, you drift off to sleep.
After a few minutes Hunter looks down at you and can’t help but sigh and shake his head. He remembers the day when his squad rescued you from the oceans of Kamino. He can still picture your terrified face when the squad pulled you out of the water. It took quite a bit of talking to convince you that they weren’t going to kill you like the others did. You were soaking wet, shivering, and had several small wounds, but you came around eventually. Hunter would never forget the first month it took you to adjust to life on the Marauder, or the several nights he would wake you from horrible nightmares.
“Poor kid, you don’t deserve this. You should have been able to live a normal life with other children,” Hunter murmurs.
He leans back in the copilot’s seat and closes his eyes, listening to the rain and the distant rolls of thunder. With one quick glance to make sure you were alright, Hunter secombed to the sleep that he desperately needed.
Thanks for reading this! Let me know what you think in the comments, and if there is a grammatical mistake of any kind let me know. Enjoy the rest of Star Wars Day!

A/N: hi!!,,,
my first one shot I'm posting bc I love my man;;;I hope it's okay hhh- big thanks to my wonderful friend who gave me the courage to post this you know who you are 💜 uwu
for max emergence I recommend listening to Starry Night (Piano) by Jordan Critz
Sorry if there are any mistakes, English isn't my native language 💀
STARRY NIGHT
(Crosshair x reader but it's fluff kinda)
_______________ ׂׂૢ་༘࿐
Crosshair couldn't help but think about the events that had changed his life the past couple of days.
Sleep doesn't come easy for him anymore, but laying here, with you in his arms, entangled together were the nights that were the easiest for him.
His eyes shifted from the plain wall to your sleeping form in his arms safe and sound, admiring how peaceful you looked and mostly just how beautiful you were. Truly he thought he didn't deserve you, and has told you so several times while you assured him that he deserves the world, even if he doubts that but wouldn't tell you about it since he didn't see the point in bothering you with trying to make him see otherwise. You truly werehis safe place and made him feel like he was finally worth of ... anything, really. It was hard for him to settle on such a calm life after everything that happened at first, especially with the damage inflicted to him mentally. Thankfully you've never made him feel anything less than loved and have always been there for him when he needed it most.
That thought made Crosshair look back to the time you had come for him when he was still under the control of the empire, how grateful and relieved he was that someone had finally come for him, instead of him being the one going to others as what happened with his brothers. You've never believed that he was himself during the time he served the empire and you've only met up with the Bad Batch after the Kamino ordeal, hence why you only came after him post their meeting. The moment you've made it clear to him that you've come for him, and him only, to get him back, to assure him you've never had forgotten about him but were simply taken prisoner by the empire yourself and came as soon as you could, had he finally felt seen, like someone finally cared about him enough to finally get him away from this hell he had managed to get himself into.
A small smile forms on his face as he recalls the time you told him how you had scolded Hunter for not realizing that it wasn't truly him when he had worked for the empire, and it will never cease to amuse him as he imagines the face of Hunter or his... brothers, when they realized that you were right. Crosshair would be lying if he said he didn't feel betrayed by his former squad. The countless missions they've done together, yet they did not take the time to just analyse his behaviour and understand that he was still brainwashed at the time particularly after they'd found out about the chips. All they did was run from him.
He does understand them not coming back after Kamino. He forgives them for that. He is the one who has made it clear to them that his choice was the empire, and his former squad would never want to take away a decision from him. They did not have an inside man as you did at the time, who managed to get him away from the Empire and remove his inhibitor chip for real this time.
His embrace around you tightens while he buries his face in your hair. You grounded him so easily, it was still unusual to him especially after his time with the Empire to have someone to hold onto at night, sometimes even during the day when the thoughts or emotions become too much to handle, or just to simply enjoy time in each other's arms. Crosshair will always be grateful for you,
and he will always love you.

The Bad Batch Love Language Head Canons
Hunter - Acts of Service
Hunter won't tell you his feelings, but it shows when he starts to do things for you. He covers you in a blanket when you fall asleep on the Marauder. He'll make you meals (if he has the means). He'll notice the little things that you mention needing to do and quietly do them for you. Another thing he does, but isn't exactly a love language, is trusting you with Omega when he's on missions.
Tech - Words of Affirmation
Tech isn't a physical person. It's just who he is. But when he is in love, he will shower you in praise. If you're flying with him and pull a tricky maneuver or manage to help fix something that had him stumped he will give you a "You did fantastic." But if you and him are an item then he gets a little more descriptive. He has a million and one pet names for you and will compare your looks to nebulas or rare flora.
Echo - Quality Time
After being alone for so long, he craves company. He will find any reason to be near you, even if it is silence. Your presence is a comfort. He enjoys talking to you and it relaxes him. The day you ask him to come with you as you scout, just for his company, he could swear his heart was going to burst. He appreciates the simple act of existing with you.
Wrecker - Physical Touch
This gentle giant will take any chance to touch you. Pats on the back, ruffling your hair, bone-crushing hugs. When you get together he's always got an arm around you or a hand somewhere on your person. He cuddles you while you sleep and loves giving you little kisses all over your face. If you ever jokingly talk about wanting to be carried around, he doesn't hesitate to lift you up and perch you on his shoulders. He loves the warmth of having you close.
Omega - Gifts (giving and receiving)
Omega offers you all sorts of things, like her rations or interesting things she finds scavenging with tech. She's over the moon when you start giving her things in return. You find out she loves Mantell Mix and pick her up a bucket of it the next time you're at Cid's. You find matching bracelets at a Marketplace on some planet and buy them for the two of you. When you give it to her, she immediately puts it on and then you show her the matching one you're wearing and she almost starts crying from joy. She hugs you super tight and thanks you every time she sees you for the next few cycles.
Bonus - Crosshair
Crosshair is tricky. He comes off cold and distant, and in all honesty you begin to wonder if he just hates you. Then you start to notice a pattern. He treats you differently than he does everyone else, in that he actually acknowledges your existence outside of what is necessary. He picks fights with you, critiques your fighting skills, and is constantly teasing you about a myriad of things. The day you realize that this is his flirting is when he is (once again) criticizing your poor aim, and he comes up behind you and starts to correct your stance. You thought he was going to be rough with you, given the annoyance in his tone. But no, instead he's gentle. Pressed up behind you, adjusting your arms and hands with feather light touches. You land a bullseye from 2 clicks and before you can even celebrate he's kissing you.

girls just want to have fun | omega
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
a/n: pics not mine! this is my first drabble ahhhhhh 🤭 i finally got inspired and i just adore little sister omega! rbs are appreciated and as always let me know what i can fix🫶🏼
5:45pm - “Does this spot look okay?”
omega dragged you toward the picnic area, wanting a prime spot to watch the firework show.
“ooo, looks good! we can set off our fireworks here,” you smiled, “i’ll get everything set up here, and then we’ll get the boys, kay?”
“ahh, i’m so excited for the fireworks!” omega cheered, plopping onto the ocean blue picnic blanket; the smell of burning marshmallows and tropical mango and the general happy chatter took over her senses.
“me too,” you sighed, remembering your parents taking you to see fireworks shows, before continuing, “omega, i have a gift for you!”
she looked at you with expectant eyes, curious as to what it could be.
“what could it be?” her eyes sparkled with excitement and wonder since she doesn’t really receive a lot of gifts, especially on random days.  you shifted your attention to your bag, shuffling through your endless lip glosses, bandaids, and the blue milk bottle.
“here, i compiled songs you and the batch like, so you can play them while on the ship.” you hesitated, not knowing if your next statement would be taken well or not, “i noticed that you like music, and you’re still a child, so curious about the world. I hope you find the music to your liking.”

Hey!!! So excited to see that you were opening requests for a Bad Batch Valentine's event! I would like to put in a humble request of a one shot with Echo and a female reader. I have no specific details on appearance. For the general vibe, I would like it to make me feel all the happily ever after feels. I love all your work, can't wait to see what you do next!! ❤️ 😍
Yeah baby! I can't ever resist a little stargazing/campfire sort of situation, so here's a fairly generic setting that's just filllllled with his sweetness (and slight sauciness, LOL). Dividers by @stars-n-spice from this post here!
Tumblr media
Echo x GN!Reader
970 words
No content warnings
Underneath the twinkling canvas of stars, you and Echo found yourselves nestled around the crackling campfire, the warmth casting a gentle glow over your faces. The air was crisp, carrying with it the faint scent of pine and the distant sound of nocturnal creatures stirring in the forest.
Echo sat beside you, his gaze fixed on the dancing flames as they flickered and swayed in the cool night breeze. His expression was thoughtful, his brow furrowed slightly as if lost in deep contemplation.
"You know," he began, breaking the comfortable silence that had settled between you, "there's something about being out here, under the stars, that just feels... right."
You nodded in agreement, following his gaze as it drifted up toward the glittering expanse above. "It's peaceful," you replied softly, "like the chaos of the world fades away for a little while."
Echo smiled, a small, genuine curve of his lips that softened the lines of his face. "Exactly," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.
As the fire crackled and popped beside you, the two of you found yourselves lost in conversation, sharing stories and memories as the night stretched on. Echo spoke of his time as a member of the 501st as well as his time in Clone Force 99, recounting daring missions and narrow escapes with a mixture of pride and humility. You listened intently, hanging on his every word as he painted vivid pictures of battles fought and comrades lost. There was a depth to Echo's stories that resonated with you, a sense of camaraderie and loyalty that spoke to the bonds forged in the crucible of war.
"I'll never forget the time we were stranded on that desolate moon," Echo said, a wistful smile playing at the corners of his lips. "We had to fend off a pack of ravenous nexu with nothing but our blasters and a few thermal detonators."
You laughed, the sound echoing softly in the quiet of the night. "That sounds like quite the adventure," you replied, imagining the scene playing out in your mind's eye.
"It was," Echo agreed, his gaze distant as he relived the memory. "But it was also one of the moments that brought us closer together as a team. We had each other's backs, no matter what. I felt like a real part of a team again."
As the fire burned low and the sky lay above you as a dark, velvet cover, you realized that this moment was something special. It was a chance to connect with Echo on a level that went beyond the battlefield, to see the man behind the armor and the scars.
"Thank you for sharing your stories with me," you said softly, breaking the silence that had settled over the clearing. "It means a lot."
Echo turned to you, his gaze soft and sincere. "Thank you for listening," he replied, a hint of warmth in his voice despite its wistful touch. "It's been a long time since I've had someone to share them with.”
You felt a flutter of anticipation in your chest, and the air between you seemed charged with electricity, a palpable tension that you couldn't ignore. He shifted beside you, his gaze lingering on your face as if searching for something in the depths of your eyes.
"You know," he began, his voice low and husky, "there's something I've been meaning to tell you."
Your heart skipped a beat at his words, anticipation coursing through your veins. "What is it?" you asked, barely above a whisper.
He reached out, his hand coming to rest on yours, his touch sending a jolt of electricity up your arm. "I... I don't know how to say this," he confessed, his gaze dropping to where your fingers were intertwined. "But ever since I met you, I've felt... something. Something I can't really explain, and something I don’t think I deserve, but… I don’t want to stuff it down anymore.”
“Oh.” Your breath caught in your throat, the weight of his words hanging heavy in the air between you. “Echo… How could you say you don’t deserve it?”
“Cause I’m a bit of an ass,” he said with a grin, breaking the intensity of the moment with some levity.
“My favorite ass,” you teased, heart warming at the humor and relief that softened his sharp features.
Echo looked up, his gaze locking with yours, and in that moment, the world seemed to fall away. His pale brown eyes were brimming with emotion, a new vulnerability and courage surfacing at the same time. You didn’t know how to confess all that you felt toward him as well, feeling utterly paralyzed by the dreaminess of the entire situation -- nestled cozily side by side on the ground beneath the stars.
Without thinking, you leaned forward, closing the distance between you until your lips met in a soft, tender kiss. It was like coming home, a perfect moment of clarity and connection that left you breathless and wanting more. He sucked air in through his nose, freezing for a split second before tilting his head to deepen the kiss. His arms snuck around you, pulling you more closely against him until you were almost losing your balance, and you came tumbling apart with hands sprawling to find the ground and a small chuckle punctuating the passion.
Once you got situated, you snuggled back together, closer than before, tucking yourself against his side. He nestled his cheek against the side of your head, his fingers tracing patterns against the outside of your arm. "I've wanted to do that for so long," he confessed, his voice barely above a whisper.
You smiled, a rush of happiness flooding through you at his words. "Me too," you replied, turning and leaning in to press another kiss to his lips.

I Heart ?
Tumblr media
Crosshair x reader
Who knew simply loving a man would be this difficult
Fluff - Angst (I mean it’s Crosshair)
Pt 6 of I Heart ?
“And he said and I quote I will not be your lap dog.” I put air quotations around the sentence.
“Lap dog?” Echo trailed off…
“I mean what in Ewok territory is that supposed to mean?” I huffed as I paced around my kitchen, cooking breakfast for the two boys.
Echo and Fives sat on my kitchen stools watching as I flailed my arms about, before flipping the eggs.
“Maybe it’s because-” Echo didn’t get to finish his sentence.
I turned to the calmer domino twin with a sharp look, “I never once said I wanted him to be my lapdog or even imply it for that matter!”
“He’s a loose hinge.” Fives interviewed with a shrug, “I’ve heard stories from the other boys about how temperamental he is. You know, I can shoot him in the hand if you want? Send him back to Camino where 99 can whip some sense back into him.”
“No you don’t need to hurt him.” I chuckled, “And I won’t let poor 99 suffer the wrath of Crosshair. The poor man has already been through enough.”
“But if Crosshair hurt your feelings, it’s only right that I get to hurt him back.” Fives tried to explain his reasoning, “Besides I can get Kix, Jesse, and Hardcase and I know Fox will be in on it too. I just have to give them a call and we will-” Fives was already getting out of his seat.
I shook my head quickly, “No no. I don’t want any violence. Promise me.” I held my pinky out, “Fives.”
Fives sighed in defeat, sitting back in his chair. I was lucky that he conceded none the less as he wrapped his pinky around mine to ensure the promise.
I pulled my hand away from his and placed both of my hands on the counter. Fives was quick to pull his mug of hot chocolate closer to him, protecting it as if it was the most precious thing in the world to him and maybe it was… He did love chocolate after all.
I almost laughed though at the thought that he would somehow believe that I would try and take his drink away, but my mind was occupied over another clone.
“I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.” I muttered in defeat, “Maybe he truly doesn’t like me? If that’s so then it might be best if I just hold off from confessing my feelings to him.”
“Whether he does or he doesn’t, I think you should because it would lift a weight off your chest.” Echo explained, “Besides…” Echo trailed off unsure if he should be saying this.
I raised an eyebrow at him, “What?”
“It’s nothing.” He decided on, “But I think it would be best if you go and talk to him. I’m being serious.”
Fives nodded, “Echoe is right and I believe if you don’t get this off your chest I think you might go mad.”
I remained quiet, thinking all my options through as I plated their breakfast.
“Crosshair is at the base today?” I asked softly as I placed the two hearty meals in front of them.
They both looked at the meals like two hungry bears.
“Pretty sure.” Echo nodded a grated full look on his face as he picked up his fork, “Thank you, this is amazing.”
“Of course.” I nodded, “You know I have to make sure my boys are fed.”
“I bet he’s at the shooting range. He’s always there.” Fives concluded, his mouth already full, “This is so freaking good! Thank you!”
I smiled at him, “There is plenty more if either of you are still hungry.”
I said before striding to the front door and grabbing my coat while I slipped my shoes on.
“You’re going then?” Echo asked, a knowing looking in his eyes and a silent prayer to the force that Crosshair won’t do anything stupid.
Even if Echo is now apart of the bad batch and knows how smart each of them can be, he also knows how cruel Crosshair is when facing something he has no control over.
“I’m going to work to work.” I confirmed causally, but they could read me like a book, “Help yourselves to anything in the fridge and like always make yourselves at home. You know where everything is, I’ll be back sometime later after work.”
“Give him hell.” Fives gave me a thumbs up.
“Love you boys.” I gave them a wave goodbye, “Have fun today!”
“Love ya too!” They both yelled and as expected went straight to my fridge.
“I’m done playing around.” I muttered to myself as I waved down a taxi.
I’m going to walk right in there and tell him how I feel… I’m going to tell him… I’m going to… I’m going… I’m…
“Wrecker couldn’t beat my score with an Armageddon on his back.” Crosshair gave his infamous grin towards his brother and leader of the group.
I couldn’t help, but admire his laid back form as he talked with his brother about the last mission that they had before the Winters day holiday.
“Hm.” Hunter chuckled, “Try telling him that.”
“Oh I will.” Crosshair smirked.
I’m going…
I turned on my heel trying to get as far away as possible. My nerves got the best of me as I tried to make a quick escape. My office will do, no one ever goes there.
Force, I can’t face him like this. Why couldn’t I be drunk? It would have made this a lot easier.
“Oof.” I said the moment I turned, bumping into a hard chest, “I’m sorry!” I rubbed my nose as I looked up to find him…
“Steven.” I muttered as I took a careful step backwards.
“Hey! It’s been a while!” He gave me a smile that left me wanting to shrivel away.
“Ah well I’ve been busy.” I chuckled nervously, “I actually have something important that I need to go take care of so if you would excuse me.” I tried to walk around him but he grabbed my wrist.
“Can I get your number now?” He pressed, “I’ve been patient.”
As if. I thought about all the times he has asked me already. If only he would take a hint.
“I’m sorry, like I said I don’t give my number out easily.” I told him trying to sound as apologetic as I could.
“Yeah? Well I asked a bunch of the other scientist under your station and they said they had your number so what’s the deal?” His eyes squinted at me with impatience as if I was the one in the wrong here.
Why couldn’t he just take the hint and move on? There are plenty others he could pursue. I’m sure someone would like him as much as he likes them. It’s just that someone is most definitely not me.
“Look,” I sighed hoping to be as gentle as possible, “I’m sorry and I don’t want to embarrass you like this at work, but I’m not interested in anything you have to offer me. I would very much like us to be respectful coworkers with one another.” I explained, “Now if you could please let go of me, I have a meeting to get to.”
“Why do you always have to lie to me huh? Why?” His hand began to squeeze harder around my wrist, “Why won’t you just give me a chance? I could treat you well!”
I hissed at the pain, “Steven let go. You’re hurting me.”
“No!” He seethed, “Tell me why!”
“I already told you! I’m not interest Steven, now let go!” I tried to yank myself free from his grasp.
“Just give me a chance dammit!” He got the attention of others as he raised his voice, “I’m the perfect gentleman! I brings you flowers, I make sure you get home safe! I even get you gifts!”
“I never asked you to and I didn’t even tell you where I live! I don’t like you and I never will! Now let me go!” I yelled trying to yank my arm away.
My breathing began to pick up as old memories began to flicker in front of my eyes… The war… The screams… Being held down… My parents…
“I don’t know anything I swear!” I screamed, thrust back into that moment… A moment I only wish to forget, “I want to go home!”
It was then that Steven raised his hand, ready to strike my face. My eyes widened in fear and I squeezed them shut waiting for the impending blow… But it never came.
“Usually I let others handle their own fights.” Crosshair’s voice rung threw my ears and I opened my eyes to see him holding Steven’s raised arm, “But you don’t know when to stop so…”
Crosshair twisted Steven’s arm with one quick movement, the scientist groaning in pain as he held onto his wrist.
“Look clone.” Steven glared up at the towering sniper, “This is between me and her so why don’t you just back off and go back to the tube you were created out of.”
That’s it.
My fist reared back before I could talk sense in my self and in just a blink of an eye my fist connected with his nose. An audible crack was heard as well as his screech of pain as he let go of my wrist to stumble back.
“Have more respect for a soldier who puts his life on the line to protect your weasel self.” I glared at him.
I couldn’t even say that I didn’t feel at least a little proud at my job well done.
“And you can have this back, I don’t want your gifts.” I stated as I went to take off the bracelet.
“Don’t.” It was Crosshair who spoke leaving me a bit confused.
“What?” Steven asked appalled, “I didn’t give you that!” He shook his head as he stumbled away to a few of his buddies.
I looked to the bracelet confused, “Who…” I trailed off before looking to Crosshair, “I’m sorry he spoke to you like that.” I apologized, turning my head to where Crosshair was standing… Or where he use to be standing.
His longs strides had him half way down one of the halls already. My force, that many is quick.
“That was one hell of a punch.” Hunter commented, stepping in beside me.
“Thanks.” I trailed off in slight defeat for he wasn’t the person I wished to hear that from.
“He’s never had anyone stick up for him.” Hunter said staring down the same hall that I was, “He doesn’t know how to process what just happened properly if you are wondering why he left so quickly.”
“Oh…” My heart melted a bit at the thought, “I see.”
“What you said back their…” Hunter trailed off and I knew what he was referring to.
“It was nothing.” I waved him off quickly, “Just some old memories.”
I turned to Hunter, one of the few people who understood the mind that was Crosshair.
“Does he like me?” I asked, one to change the subject and two… To find out how the sniper really feels about me.
Hunter looked at me with surprise, “What?”
“I like him and I want to tell him as such, but I don’t know if he feels the same way so do you know if… Well if he likes me?” I asked again.
“I think you should find that out for yourself. It’s best you be honest and tell him how you feel. It might take him some time to process that as well, but once he accepts you as part of his small circle then you are in it for life.” Hunter said before walking away.
Being apart of his close circle doesn’t seem too bad. He’s still going to get a strong word or two from me though with his self righteous attitude problem.
I can’t help, but wonder… Why did he say don’t when I tried to take this bracelet off?
I fiddled with the charm on my bracelet.
It was then that it clicked. Of course it wasn’t Steven who got me the bracelet, it was Crosshair!
“Hey!” I yelled out to Crosshair before he got too far away.
But the reaction I was hoping for didn’t happen, it only made him speed up.
“Seriously.” I mumbled as I started to jog after him, “Crosshair! Stop!”
He only glanced back at me before turning a corner.
I scoffed. At least you’re heading towards my office. You’re not getting away from me this time.
It took everything in me to break into a sprint, I practically threw myself into him as I turned around the corner.
“For the love of clankers woman!” He hissed as he grabbed onto me to keep me from knocking us both to the ground.
“My office. Now.” I panted as I slammed my hand against the panel, successfully opening the door.
He only rolled his eyes, but relented as he stepped into the room. I followed him, making sure to shut the door behind me.
“What do you want?” He crossed his arms.
“Well first I want to say thank you for what happened back there.” I said as I tried to catch my breath.
He nodded his head stiffly, “That it?”
I huffed, “No! You.” I stepped forward, “You kissed me! And I know that it meant something to you just as it means something to me.”
He shook his head before heading towards the door.
“I know you got me this bracelet!” I practically yelled… Pleaded for him to just listen.
He froze, his hand above the panel.
“I don’t know why you didn’t tell me sooner or why you kept it a secret, but I don’t care because I know you have your reasons and I know deep down in that closed off way of yours, you like me.” I spoke quickly, but I knew my point got across from how his shoulders tensed.
“I like you Crosshair.” I said a lot more gently, “I really do Cross so please don’t push me away…”
I took a breath as I waited for a response that as usual was only silence.
“Please say something.” I pleaded with him though his words however short felt like a thousand knives in my heart.
“I don’t like you.” He said barely above a whisper.
“Yes you do.” I said stubbornly.
“No I don’t!” He yelled spinning around to face me, “I don’t love you! Why can’t you get that through your thick head?”
My voice matched his in fierceness and anger, “Because I know what being in love looks like and what it doesn’t and you are! And I don’t care what you say or what you think of me because I don’t think of you as some lap dog. I think of you as a man who lives to fight for what he believes in so believe in us!” I stepped over to the sheet that covered the gift I have been working on for month, “I made this for you because I lo-”
“I don’t believe in us!” He said exasperated, “We live in a life that we could die any day! I can’t even fathom settling down with anyone, do you hear me?”
I looked up at him in shock as I felt my world crumble, but that didn’t seem to dissuade him. It seemed to fuel him.
“You think I got you that? Well you’re wrong!” He lied straight through his teeth as he refused to look me in the eyes.
I knew that he was lying, but it still cut deep because why would he have to lie if i already knew the truth.
He didn’t stop there however…
“You think I kissed you last night because I have feels for you?” He scoffed giving me a once over, “I was drunk and you were there. That’s it.”
He pressed his hand against the panel to open the door.
He barely gave me a glance as he said, “I won’t ever love someone who couldn’t even survive on a battlefield.”
I couldn’t fight the tears as I gripped on the sheet, watching him and any chance that I had with him walk out the door.
I won’t ever love someone who couldn’t even survive on a battlefield.
I scoffed at the words. What does he even know about me? He knows nothing of my life before, of why I was here on this stupid planet. He knows nothing. Nothing and he made it very clear, he never will. I thought as I wiped my tears away.

How would TBB react to seeing the reader about to leave on a night out dressed up in a super hot outfit?
Gender-neutral reader, but feminine presenting. Words like 'beautiful' and 'pretty' are used!
Tumblr media
Hunter - Even with half of his face tattooed, he still manages to blush through the thickness of the ink. - He's truly lost for words. - Hunter has an adorable stutter as he compliments, "wow, you look… nice- I mean, incredible. Good. Beautiful?" - Hunter then facepalms as he scolds himself for picking "nice" as his first compliment. Ugh, you look so much more than nice! - You'll both be giggling as Hunter takes a deep breath, and begins going into detail about how good you look, highlighting the specific parts that really stand out to him. - You're heading out with friends, but Hunter is quietly hinting that he wants to come along. Totally not because he's jealous or anything, but because he hopes to meet your friends, right? The friends that he's met several times before? Yeah! - Tell him that you'll still be looking this good when you come back home later tonight, and he'll get the hint. - However, he may need to leave a fresh mark or two on your neck, just to get the point across that you're taken.
Echo - This poor, poor man is going to turn the deepest shade of red when he finally sees you. - Why, just WHY did you have to wear that specific outfit that he loves so much?! And you're going out without him too?! Oh, what a tease! - Echo is lost for words as he gushes over you. He feels like it's his wedding day - How is he this lucky? How did he land an angel like you? - There's a tear in his eye as you smother him in kisses, reassuring him that you're all his, that you're the lucky one for being with him, that you can't wait to come home and snuggle up with him later. - Echo doesn't ask for much, but he would like to be kept in the loop on your whereabouts. Purely for your own safety! - "And when you reach the next bar, just comm me. Your friends have my comm number too, don't they? If anything goes wrong, and you want picking up-" blahblahblah. - One final smother in reassuring kisses, and you're good to hit the town!
Wrecker - His mouth instantly hangs open, his eyes turn wide, and his facial expression swiftly turns into a grin as he comments, "HOT!!" - You know in cartoons where the character's mouth drops open, and they begin howling and barking? Yeah, that's Wrecker. - Seriously, you look hot, and Wrecker's going to ensure that you know it. - "Look at you! I can't believe I got myself an angel as sweet as you!" - He'll mention how he's sad that he's not tagging along, but he'll assure you that it's important you spend your time with your friends. - Wrecker isn't as clingy as he seems. After all, he'll be right here, waiting for your return. - And when you do return, all your hangover needs will be met. A tall glass of water waiting for you, a midnight snack, breakfast in bed, and a big buff man to cuddle you back to health!
Tech - This will go one of two ways: - Option one: Tech eyes you up and down, and with a firm nod, he comments, "that is suitable attire for your evening. I hope you enjoy yourself." - Option two: Tech's brain short circuits. He can barely muster up a thought, let alone a comment. Radio silence, but his expression says it all. - Either way, Tech is more than impressed with your outfit choice, and how stunning you look. He just… struggles to find the words, like a deer in the headlights. - Give him a few moments, and you'll be met with suitable praise. "How exquisite you look, a truly elegant and radiant creature." - Tech can't pinpoint one specific word to describe how beautiful you look, so instead, he selects the most complex and in-depth ones. He doesn't want to rely on a 'standard compliment.' - A few kisses later, and you're off to meet your friends. All the while, Tech begins pacing around the Marauder like a lost puppy. He needs to keep himself occupied until you return!
Crosshair - He's instantly thirsty for you, smiling cheekily as he eyes you up, gawking at the sight of you. - Crosshair has a way with words, and spews out his praise, all whilst kneading at your waist, his hands trailing down to grab your ass whilst he steals a handful of kisses from you. - And then it dawns on him… - You're going out with your friends tonight, not him… - Jealousy swiftly takes over, and his compliment turn into teasing (yet petty) jabs. Nothing to hurt your feelings, though. - "Any reason why you're wearing this tonight? Do you need more attention? Am I not enough for you?" - Whilst his tone is teasing, there's a desperate need for validation. - Yes, he knows you'd never be stupid and hurt him, but… can you please remind him one more time? - Don't be surprised when you leave, and minutes later, Crosshair sends you a holotext. "Comm me if you need anything, Beautiful."

Loth-Cat in The Clouds
Summary: Life can be domestic. Taking a break from all of fighting, all the blast-bolts, all the war. Life can be domestic.
Warnings: None
•--•
"I wish I could be like a loth-cat. One of the domesticated ones that people keep as pets," you grumbled, laying your head down on Crosshair's shoulder.
You both sat on a rock wall, short and sturdy with a perfect view of the lake in front of you, water rippling with smooth effects. The sky was stuffed with clouds that looked far too fluffy to be real. His long arm was coiled around your waist, pressing you close into his side. Soft moments like these weren't often, but when you were alone, he truly expressed love.
He laughed at your words. "Why? Wouldn't that be boring?"'
You looked up at him, tilting your head up enough to lock eyes. They were usually venomous, scary eyes. But when he looked at you, they were sticky honey, sweet in every way.
"Well, imagine being pet all the time, especially if you like it. It sounds like a dream," you replied.
Crosshair reached his other hand over to pet you with his full hand, not running fingers through your hair, just softly stroking your head. You closed your eyes and felt yourself grow drowsy as he repeated the action over and over, caressing you with his gentle palm.
"You're certainly cute enough to be my loth-cat," Crosshair purred the words with the voice he used to coax you into sleep. Maker above, when his lips pressed to your forehead, reality seeped from your bones and away from your body. The world had faded, but Crosshair, he was still there. He always was.
