me, watching tlovm: it's a bummer we won't get the broom theft scene, but we can still get the activation and target practice scenes, and it does make sense that they cut the origin out for simplicity's sake (and to avoid using gern)
me, rewatching campaign 1: how DARE they rob us of vex SHAMELESSLY stealing it?! of her oscar-worthy explanation of it falling in the lava?? how DARE they cut out her c h o k i n g on the admission of what she did??? leaving out a single second of vex's greed and ruthlessness is CRIMINAL. I WANT TO SUE.

So... Vox Machina...
I'm an emotional mess right now because I can't believe I finally finished watching the first campaign
It's been -roughly- 6 months and I've enjoyed every second of it
I've learned so much through it all and there are many things I'll definitely take with me throughout my life
This family they've created showed how you get to choose who you want to spend the rest of your life with
Grog showed me how strength is important but your friends will always be your greatest strength and that even if you don't understand some things in the world there will always be people by your side helping you get through it all
Keyleth, our Kiki, she taught me so much on how to deal with the world no matter what happens, she gives me courage to be myself because even if I'm awkward there will be people that love me anyway, her growth makes me proud of who I am today and that I'll keep changing and that's a good thing
Percival showed me how even the most broken people deserve love and that thinking rationally won't always be the best plan but we can stop for a moment, analyze the situation and make the best of it
Pike taught me to be compassionate, to be empathetic and that there are good people in this world that deserve a chance to redeem themselves, she also taught me that sometimes you need to be a bit harsh with people that think they're doing the good thing and to be a monstah!!!
Scanlan has made my life a brighter place with his songs, he showed me that a bit of laughter can help you get through most harsh times, through him I learned that even the brightest smiles can have their dark times but that with some distance and time things will get better
Tary was there for such a short time but his impact was immense, he proved that change sometimes is inevitable but it can be good to have a change of pace, he also showed that not every hero needs to be brave to help others and that people can change no matter their upbringing
Vax gave me so much things that I'll cherish, he was the gentlest of souls even with everything that happened to him through it all, he loved openly and fought fiercely to protect his loved ones, he never stopped going even when he knew his final stop was coming, his memory lived through his family and he will be remembered for a long time still
Vex, the woman that made me start all this, her greediness made me feel understood and her emotions made me feel seen, she taught me how to think carefully before doing something but that you also should follow your heart when it speaks to you
All the guests left a little part of them within me and I'll forever be grateful for getting on this ride
Last but definitely not least, Matt helped me love stories again and inspired me to tell my own stories, he gaves us a beautiful world to be a part of and I'll never forget the places we visited and the people we met
Thank you Vox Machina, thank you critical role
And, is it Thursday yet?

I've only watched 7 episodes of C3 so far. (50 odd of C1 and 0 of C2) Do you think Imodna will be canon?
things like this are impossible to predict due to the nature of the game. however i will say, for me as a viewer, watching laura bailey pine relentlessly with the sad puppy eyes and tear herself (and others) apart whenever anything happens to laudna certainly says some things! idk!
personally i think it's pretty clear imogen has feelings for laudna, whether she knows it or not. on the other hand, laudna hasn't thought about romance in a long time. she "deeply loves imogen" as she's said, but i think the definitions of platonic and romantic are muddled as she's had neither for so long and it hasn't been a priority for her.
what i do know is it's the closest we have to a ship so far. obviously it's still early days but so far they're really the only two that have that kind of connection.
and unfortunately i can no longer believe they're just friends after this incident:

hmm satyr and tiefling and gnome
satyr: how did you discover critical role
well my incredibly lovely and talented best friend became OBSESSED with this thing called critical role, and when she told me about it it sounded interesting, but waaaaaay too much commitment so I simply supported her obsession. Then, the animated show came out, and after I think a year of gently prodding my incredibly lovely and talented best friend got me to watch the animated series and it all went down hill from there. im currently watching C1 now, albeit very slowly. tldr: you, you doofus
tiefling: who is your favorite female player
don't make me pick!! that's so mean!! everyone's so different! laura bailey.
gnome: who is your favorite male player
again, i hate this question, it changes all the fucking time they're all so different in their skills and characters. if i had to choose...in terms of specific characters, Liam. In terms of like...plotting/strategizing, Sam.

Unpopular Critical Role Opinion: Imogen is an annoying character
Alrighty Critical Role fandom, let’s talk about your favorite telepath: Imogen.
So. Imogen.
Aberrant mind sorcerer, resident moon lady, rock collector, and honestly, I could do without her. I’m normally apathetic to boring characters because they’re just characters, but Imogen...she is easily the flattest D&D Player Character I have seen Laura Bailey play, and that’s unfortunate, as I appreciate how she played Vex and Jester. She brought life to them and carried an energy to the table that completed the group during those two campaigns.
Imogen though, is none of that. To me, she’s boring, annoying, and comes across as self-entitled. She has a “holier-than-thou” and “I could never do anything wrong” attitude that is frankly frustrating to watch and wouldn’t look out of place on a high school campus. Her immaturity can be explained by the lack of life experiences she has had (similarly to Keyleth in C1), and it's fairly early in the campaign, but my read on the group says that she’s going to have to acknowledge her own flaws and how they impact people, and then deal with them on her own before anything can happen. I don’t see that happening anytime in the near future. In each campaign, there has been one character that just sits wrong, and this campaign, Imogen is holding that title.
Events in the most recent episode have only highlighted this more, particularly the quote-fight-endquote between Imogen and Laudna. Let’s take a look at it.
When Laudna broke her gnarlrock, she didn’t even allow Laudna to explain what happened, and allowed the awkwardness between them to fester. The rock may have been influencing her mental state, but there’s giving enough time for a cooldown, and there’s awkwardness growing because neither character knows how to approach the problem. You can be not ready for a hard conversation, but from what I can see, Imogen has been sitting and stewing, disregarding Laudna’s feelings as she stressed about actions she had no control over.
In this group, Imogen and Laudna have known each other the longest; Imogen should know Laudna is strange and things happen around her that can’t be explained (Laudna is literally a corpse moving with a soul). She may not know Laudna's full backstory, but Imogen is refusing to talk about it and she, for some reason, believes Laudna intentionally broke her gnarlrock. It’s interesting that she believes “that dead lady with a lot of love in her heart” would do something malicious like that. Playing devil’s advocate briefly, even if she secretly acknowledges it may have been an accident and Laudna didn’t do anything, she’s certainly not spinning it that way to Orym and the rest of Bell’s Hells. The refusal to talk has finally been brought up by the other characters, because it has gotten that bad. Imogen makes her problems everyone else’s problems and expects them to fix her problems for her.
If Imogen knew-knew Laudna, she might consider that while Launda may be smiling and laughing about being with Dusk (Dusk, ooooh boy, that’s a whole topic), it is because Imogen is not allowing an explanation and it seems like Laudna has no other allies in Bell’s Hells since Dorian left, with the exception of sometimes FCG and Ashton (there’s ANOTHER topic for me to talk about). Imogen’s acting like a kid who had her favorite toy got taken away, which might be because of her immaturity and lack of experiences. Her actions are causing Laudna (who already has HORRIBLE self-worth issues (hello, the “let her step on me” and “I’ll die for her” comments)) to believe she is a horrible friend. How long will it take Imogen to get off her high horse and let there be talk about it? Laudna got her the ptotholder and pencil, the start of an apology, but did Imogen ever say “thank you,” “can we talk,” or anything like that?
Imogen needs to bond with other members of Bell’s Hells who actually challenge her and do not automatically take her side. She needs to grow beyond what she has with Laudna before she be an interesting character for me (the Laudna/Imogen relationship is going to be discussed at a later time, because it’s a whole can of worms). She needs to consider other points of view and realize that she is not the only interesting individual here, far from it. All the characters in this campaign have their flaws and problems, but Imogen’s have gotten to the straight-up annoying point to me. Character development may be a thing, but of all the current characters, she’s going to have to work the hardest for it, and even then, she’ll likely remain the character I care the least about.
All of this isn’t helped by the fandom’s unhealthy obsession with Imogen.
This was written after episode 25 (Taste of Tal'Dorei), I have not seen the most recent 4-Sided Dive, and please note that this is my opinion.

Hey do you remember the conversation between Vex and Percy in episode 72 and when Vex said:
I think Sondur focused for so long on the betrayal of his love, on all of the horrible things within himself that caused that, that he became the physical embodiment of it. And I think he was trying to do the same thing to me. Even though I refused him, I could feel those seeds being planted. Self-doubt and loathing echoing in my mind every night. Reliving every wrong that people have done to me and everything I have done.
And then she said:
Whoever that boy was that created those things, that suffered such horrors that he felt they were justified? You have to forgive him, too. Because everything you’ve suffered and endured and created in that time has made you into the person you are now. (…) And any darkness that might cloud your vision on occasion, the fact that you found it within yourself to forgive her means that it will never overtake you.
And when Percy said about forgiving Ripley:
It’s the only thing I’ve tried that’s made any sense so far. And it felt very liberating, it felt good, it felt perfect. And it wasn’t about her. It was just about me.
Damn Laura was on fire in that episode (Tal too), I rewatched and reread their conversation so many times. I love it

i needed someone to talk to about CR so tumblr it is since i dont have friends... its about C1 btw so spoilers ahead if you havent seen it!
i just finished the chroma conclave arc and holy shit i loved it!
everything about it was amazing, the npcs, the battles, the relationships blossoming and fading, the fear of every citizen that was under one of the dragons ruling, just everything, spectacular!
raishan? my favorite villain! i cant fucking wait to see her animated in the show when we get to it! the way we got to talk in a relatively friendly way with a villain makes everything about that villain greater than when you just get an evil character and everyone is like "theyre evil so thats why we have to defeat them"
also loved feral keyleth when she learned about raishan being the one to open the portal leading to the destruction of the fire ashari and then when raishan revealed herself... i just really wanted her to go ape shit right then and there...
also the fucking feywild???? holy shit it sounds like an amazing place and id love to explore more of it... and ARTAGAN??? love that fey bastard so much and i cant wait to see him again (havent seen c2 yet but i know who he is)
the twins finding love is also something i hold dear to my heart... vaxleth and perchalia are so different and yet they both make my heart grow wider whenever they have soft moments together...
grog and pike friendship continues to be the best and i wish ashley couldve been there all the time... OH AND THE GUESTS! i love every guest pc relationship we got during this arc! kerrek my beloved! he was such a great influence on them, specially on keyleth and i will cry whenever i think about the ring...
and last, but definitely not least, scanlan, this motherfucker made me cry so much in these last episodes... i cant fucking believe i ended up liking him so much to the point that id be crying about him leaving... ngl at the beginning i didnt like him very much but he slowly grew on me and then i watched "A Bard's Lament" and he comes and yells at everyone (rightfully so imo) and im here just mouth agape, tears streaking down my face with the best performance ive seen from sam the whole campaign (so far)
well fucking done sir, his mind is brilliant sometimes and i cant fucking wait to see what more he comes up with for tary, whom i adore so much already after knowing him for one episode (and a few one shots ive seen already)
vox machina are great adventures and im excited to watch more and get to the episodes i have not seen anything about and get context for some of the clips i have seen before... love these assholes!
