They live in a world without most electrical appliances. A FUCKTON of physical labor goes into baking (and keep in mind how often Sanji bakes treats for the girls).

Sanji being tired (physically) and not feeling like taking 10 min to whip whipped cream. Being tired (mentally) of Zoro making fun of him for never working out. Sanji saying "fuck it" and just starts putting him to work.

The foccacia dough needs to be kneaded? "Have fun working a sticky mess for 20 minutes, asshole"

Need meringue? "No, STIFF peaks marimo. Don't tell me you're wimping out already"

This might be a half-baked theory, but I wonder how much of the "think of the children!!" ideals that are almost... aimed at women rely on the idea of women as Forever Children.

What I notice is that a lot of these ideas of corruption in youth are feminized in a way that evokes motherhood, but I also notice that many people blur the lines between women or anybody forced into or expected to be women and children so that they are as one.

starting a new trend called groceryposting where we post our grocery lists so we have something new to be self conscious about. Anyway: milk, eggs, chicken thighs because white meat is flavorless, brown rice, rice cakes (for when i want to eat styrofoam) distilled water (for my cpap), sparkling water (for me), oatmeal (yum yum), a bunch of apples unless there’s another fruit cheaper / on sale, coffee (we’re running low) and a big bag of dark chocolate chips (for baking/snacking). We still have tons of vegetables in the freezer/fridge and potatoes at home as well as a gigantic tub of plain yoghurt for sauces / desserts. I might go crazy and buy a bunch of raisins too we’ll see. You never know.
