There's a lot of validity in the idea that older Bakugo is a traumatized pro-hero with major PTSD... but you know what's kinda fucked up to think about? The fact that Bakugo is also a 22-year-old pro-hero with major PTSD even before that, too.

It's almost easy to imagine that things are actually better when he's older (the therapy finally a routine, the trauma long set and on the path to being healed)... and that it's his whole 20s that are spent as a pool of disaster trying to recover from the war(s).

He looks back and barely even remembers being twenty, much less twenty-five or twenty-seven. Barely remembers how little he slept, not at the hands of trying to balance hero work and getting a degree at the same time, but just out of the pure insomnia that came from trying to move on and every nightmare attached.

Hardly ever showering, never shaving (not that he ever grew much of a beard, but the facial hair was definitely there. There's pictures of him on the news with an awkward, grown out haircut and patches on facial hair that make him look positively... immature), barely even eating more than a few protein bars or an energy jelly drink-a day. It's a blur, and his friends are hardly there to pick him up out of it because they're all going through it, too. Somewhat.

It's definitely weird if you meet him during this period. He's not all there, at least, not all of the time. He doesn't really register your interactions, the friendship you extend to him (a younger, or ever older, version of him would've shown you that deep seeded ferocity in response, tried to bite the hand that fed him, even if it were love... but 20s Bakugo... doesn't seem to notice). Even though only one of his eyes is clouded over, the good one never seems to brighten up.

There's definitely moments when the old him shines through: when he's with Deku, when he's in the midst of battle, when he finds out that Todoroki still does a shitty job at chopping scallions. But it's a long time before he's even close to the same, able to step out from underneath the fog of simply surviving and into the sunshine of recovering.

But I think sticking through it with him is worth it.

(It's a weird moment, a happy moment, the first time you realize that Bakugo has changed. That the pouring rain outside hasn't bothered him since he showed up at your apartment. He forgot his umbrella, he's been quite careless ever since the war—wet and shaggy hair frizzed up, cheeks red from cold—but he doesn't seem to mind, with his bare feet up on your coffee table, his eyes gazing out the window. You hand his tea, and instead of gulping it down in one go, letting it burn in his throat, he winces at the heat.

"Tastes like shit," he says, and you laugh because it always does. Just this time, he noticed.)

@ghostdoctor i had to like scroll so carefully to fit this into one screenshot but THESE IDEAS ARE SO CUTE

i think we finally found something we have different opinions on because i physically cant see this before izuku's crush realization for me.

i just really like the idea of like when monoma and izuku sorta become buddy buddy with their shared quirk enjoyment Izuku starts to become endeared by the little things (and even the things he used to think were lowkey annoying) that monoma would do when they spend time together.

AND LIKE WHEN 1-A QUESTION"S IZUKU OR SHITS ON MONOMA IZUKU IS LIKE "guys he's actually really sweet" and someone would be like

"no he just has a soft spot for you"

and like,,, he does. monoma like absolutely refuses to admit it but he really does think that izuku is just amazing. better than him in every way. which fuels his inferiority complex but also has this mixed in admiration and it messes with monoma's head SO BAD because hes supposed to hate this boy.

he wants to be around izuku but he wants to run away from his as fast as he can when hes nearby. he wants to love him but it would never work because izuku is thousands of miles ahead of him in everything, so why would he ever look back at monoma? why would he ever choose him out of all people. its impossible, so its better to hate him then to get himself hurt by wishing on a star that doesn't even exist.

and then with Midoriya, he probably thinks that monoma lowkey dislikes him still since he sucks at expressing feelings by anything other then being mean so its like

izuku knows that monoma likes being around him because he keeps spending time with him, but sometimes he's unsure due to the things Monoma says. (AUTISM. and his self image issues lol)

so these two are just in this never ending "he doesn't like me like that" cycle and the hypothetical readers are just like

"FUUUUCCCKKKKKKKK PLEASE JUST TALK ABOUT FEELINGS OR SOMTHING FOR ONE MINUTE I BEG"

Yes. But he probably wouldn’t suggest it or ask for it on his own, and would absolutely kick up a fuss about trying to convince you that it’s gross and fine if you don’t.

It’s honestly the type of thing you gotta ask about when he’s already horny and his dick is in your face, rather than bring up beforehand… that way he has a harder time denying the fact that he actually wants it, vs. when he’s all, “you really want to? Fucking gross.”

SCREAMSSS YESSS I think the only way he’d be able to communicate his feelings for you would be between the insufferable practice sessions you have… you both have a big concert coming up and you’re seeing him more than just weekly to practice your new routine to perfection, so its unfortunately harder to avoid him because you can’t, you have to stick around because you need his feedback so you can work together in sync!! And while you’re so annoyed about it at first… you start to warm up to him the slightest. AND AAAAAA HIM INVITING YOU ONE TIME AFTER FOR DINNER bc one thing led to another while you were working and it’s?? 7pm??? So he’s apologising for keeping you out so late and insists he takes you out to eat, after-all it’s his fault for not being able to settle for the tune you composed until it was perfect down to the very last note… and he hates having debts!! So he takes you out, and it frustrates you somehow even more?? Maybe it's the casual jeans and flannel he shows up to the studio in rather than the slacks and button-up you're so used to? The bags under his eyes and unbrushed hair proving he's only human, just like you? his sudden need for (unsweetened, damnit!) lattes and all the phone calls he gets from his own instructor (aizawa) yelling at him about this and that (and remember to dry clean your silks..... and be on your best behavior because eri is coming, too).

AND THEN HAVING THIS REALIZATION AT THE DINNER, TOO... where's he's acting like a proper gentleman and ur suddenly aware of just how much you actually look like a couple alongside everything else, too??? it's would def not be the first time people have asked if you're together (even if now you wouldn't really know what to say)... but it's just so AHHH to be faced with because you've been trying so, SO hard to deny it. i'm crying :(((

Spirit Realm au designs!

Hello! I'm out of school for the summer and I got some time and motivation to draw so here's some designs I finished! just ignore how my art style changed each time I did one of these 💀

There's also mirrored events from the manga mentioned so if u don't want to read them stop at Edgeshot's thing!

Tw: Talk about death and school shootings

Emiyo died before the age of quirks during the witch trails.

She wasn't a witch but when she was killed she, like others during that time, she became a witch spirit

She just liked cats and plants 😭

She was only 17 when she died :(

There was a sort of "clan" that was formed between witch spirits that have nature-based powers that she joined

The clan was good and all for quiet a while but soon went down hill once the leader mysteriously disappeared and their twin sister took over

Many people left the clan once she came to power but Emiyo wasn't able to

It basically went from a really chill family to a really strick one if that makes since.

Anyways

When she was out she ran into soon boyfriend whose name I have yet to figure out

Long story short they start dating and planning to elope. She got pregnant and used her magic to hide it but like a week before they were to elope the leader found out and shunned her in the manner.

When she gave birth she was forced to abandon the baby in the middle of a forest in the living world. it was the last time that she has been able to go outside :(

The baby is Kamui woods btw

She was a lab born with her quirk being the same as the OG series (up until she died at least.)

She was a UA teacher that had recently died protecting a student (a month or 2 before Edgeshot.)

She lives in the same world and district as edgeshot. I don't have the world name yet but the district is called the Nature District.

She works in an all in one women's shop that basically has stuff like clothing, medicine, hair and skin care to even having a salon and spa!

She mainly works in the spa and clothing part of the building.

Her and Edgeshot hang out a bit since they don't have any other dead friends (Midnight would if it weren't for a certain event...)

Bakugou hangs out with them too time to time when he visits

She adopted Violet which I will get more into in her part.

She was naturally born! (got her quirk via genetics)

She lived in the midwest usa for her whole life before kickin the bucket.

yall want to take a wild guess how she died💀?

if you guessed school shooting, you'd be correct!

Basically a shooter shot up her class a bit but she didn't get shot so after waiting a few minuets after the shooter left she used her quirk to heal the people she could. But by her luck the shooter came back to the classroom and shot her 😭

saved 7 lives at least 🫡

(I should mention that she has like a stock pile aspect of her quirk so if she like absorbed some plant healing stuff she could save it for later)

So since she was under the age of 20 she got automatically sent to the spirit realm

Due to having no other family or friends in the spirit world she stayed in the orphanage for a while

She went into town a lot out of boredom and to run errands for herself and others

One of the places she happened to visit a bit was the women's shop

She talked to midnight anytime they were there at the same time and ended up getting close. Close enough that midnight adopted her! They're the purple hair duo >:D

She's been helping the woman's shop with midnight ever since

I've posted his design a while back but I didn't say anything with it so i'm doing it now!

He was lab born with the quirk ribbons

Ribbons was a quirk that allowed the user to manipulate the quirk energy in and around him. The ribbons came in many different colors depending what or who the quirk source was. Since there was such a high concentration in his own body he could manipulate himself similarly into one of those ribbons

However due to his mental state the quirk had a miss function and he had to go to quirk reformatory and he was no longer able to manipulate ribbons outside his body so now his quirk was renamed Foldabody. This also made his mental health even worse 😭

He died in the lab incident using his body to patch up Bakugo's heart that had been pierced

Because of this, this opened a small vestige realm (room really) opened up between them

Bakugo can go between the vestige to the spirit realm at will but is generally not a good idea to do without edgeshot accompanying him.

He owns a library in the Nature District with his sister that he also lives in (his sister already had a place to live since she died way before him)

The vestige realm for him and bakugo is in one of the rooms (only edgeshot can enter it form the spirit realm side so no need to worry about intruders)

He likes hosting events for kids in the gathering room areas especially for the orphaned ones to give them things to look forward too

He occasionally has events that are more adult centered but kid events are more fun :)

This also helps him with transitioning to his sudden new way of "life" which he struggles with as many freshly dead fokes do

one thing i kinda hate is how everything always comes back to all might. like, i know that’s the entire point but if you’re not really gonna go in and explore the unique ramifications of every hero being inspired by him and every villain being wronged by him then it’s just repetitive and gets boring

#bnha manga spoilers #i was interested in star and stripe her quirk was sick and shes a huge buff woman which is automatically awesome #and then it turns out her entire motivation is just that she was rescued by all might as a kid #stain is such an intimidating force and his ideology makes sense but its ruined when he idolises the very thing he hates #completely unironically and his view is never challenged #he never realises that all might is just as fake as other heroes just as media hungry no matter how many people he saves #he should be the pinicle of what he hates but bc its all might he never is #i think its why i like dabi and hawks so much #their motivation is entirely based on endeavour (who is also based around all might)#same with kirishima being inspired by crimson riot its refreshing for someone to have a different hero for once #but its like theres no point in being intrigued by a new character bc everything will always boil down to all might #midoriya is never given any character growth and is still just an all might clone #bakugo is a parallel of endeavour who himself is a foil to all might and hes always wanted to be all might #the entire nighteye arc was nighteye comparing midoriya to all might #shigaraki is only there bc he was related to nana and therefore personal to all might #him going after dabi as a replacement could easily be spun into ‘the son of the rival you never took seriously is now evil haha’#the only real thing that had nothing to do with him was the plf #and thats just not enough #if youre going to make everything revolve around one character you cant make it as one note as it is #everything is either directly or indirectly bc of all might #no one ever even really blames him #to some degree everyone knows ots all mights fault due to his affects on society #but no one ever actually says it #and the only consequences are the characters that end up all being the same #we can infer and do all the meta we want but that doesnt mean the depth is really there #i want this to be more than all mights world #coming out of my cage and ive been doing just fine.txt #go beyond plus ultra #bnha #all might

The Todoroki love hits HARD, doesn't it (simpery LOL)? I definitely think we're all kinda sleeping on him tbh. I always say I wanna write more for him and then... lose the few asks I do get for him AND NEVER GET MORE.

Makes me so :((( tbh. BUT ANYWAY!!! I really think because the fandom has died down as a whole, it's a lot harder to find things for him... so forgive me for this being so short, but...

Two blogs I remember really enjoying the content of were @/shoutogepi (masterlist here!) and @/burnedbyshoto (ml here!) Sadly though, both of these accounts are... not-to-somewhat inactive... so you won't be getting anything from them too regularly.

And surely you know @/andypantsx3? I enjoy their stuff a lot, so if you haven't partaken yet, you're in for quite a treat!!! Same w/ @/phen0l... who's currently in the middle of a Dabi-going-to-be-Shoto-eventually, fic!!!

Really/sadly... that's all I can think of for now, but I'll search a bit and keep an eye out for any Todoroki stuff I see these next couple days and reblob it for you (and of course any recs in my box would be super appreciated, too. For my sake and anon's).

I want/need to get back on the icyhot train, too!!! We all should, tbh.

What bakugo stans actually sound like(in my experience): oh my god. You little gremlin. You fucking shithead. Of course he’s yelling (affectionate).
