Fun fact: I know how troll sex works

So in the way of the wizard book by Richard Ashley Hamilton for the takes of arcadia series it covers baby draal, according to kanjigar/the narrator two pwices of living stone are put together by the troll parents and it forms a crystal birthstone

Im assuming that this is what kangijar and ballustras gronknuks are for, to take the living stone from

Afterwards it is taken care of for 30 years and then the baby troll comes out of it

Another fact is that draal was 1200 years old and that he takes alot of traits from his mother, drall was named by kangijar after his favourite troll scholar and he is a monger troll (for battle)

Dictatious also insults draal and says he looks odd, and shortly after gunmar and bular invade kangijar and ballustras home to kidnap draal for his army! To which draal kicks off and does his very first roll attack at them and his very word, which was "RRRAAH!"

Ballustras fraught off the gumm gumms and then celebrated their victory and draal, thus giving him the moniker 'draal the deadly'

Care to share any Draal headcanons?

Of course!

I believe Draal is a tad more feral than most other trolls, mostly due to the fact both his parents were a bit distant as he grew up. I've noticed there's times where he just doesn't talk very much, and he's more hot-headed than others, I believe this is due to the fact he just never had a good support system as a kid.

Alongside that, he idealized his father because everyone else did. Draal doesn't feel much towards his mother, but i feel that's more likely because he convinced himself that she likely regretted him somehow, and without her around to deny that he's detached himself from her.

But I also feel Ballustra never wanted Draal to leave, and it's likely Kanjigar created a rift to get Draal to come with him for some unknown reason. I feel if Ballustra had a way to find her son and get to him she would absolutely show the fuck up because Draal is alone.

When Kanjigar further removed himself from Draal's life after taking up the Trollhunter mantle, I feel this really caused Draal's temper to get worse and when Kanjigar died Draal was angry with him because he's now been abandoned by what was left of his family.

We see Draal has honor among trollmarket, but we don't see if he has many friends so it can be assumed he doesn't and it's likely part of that public image comes from being Kanjigar's son. We can assume Vendel is somewhat close to Draal but even then he seems to care more about Blinky and ARRRGH than Draal.

I believe those scars Draal has when we meet him come from accidents that were caused by his father when he first got the Amulet. We know Draal was grown when he left Europe with Kanjigar, leaving his mother behind, so when Kanjigar did get the Amulet it's likely Draal got hurt helping his father and trying to get closer to him. This resulted instead with Draal being further removed from his dad's life.

I feel Draal fully resents Bular because Bular has Gunmar, but I also believe Draal and Jim bonded as brothers because neither had a real father or mother in their lives. Jim had his mom, yes, but he cared for her, he became the protector and caretaker of his mother even before the Amulet, and Draal felt kinship with Jim through this.

I really wish we could get that show because, I have to be honest, human shows can get so boring and I personally always care mostly about the unusual creatures!

If it was by the comic, which would be awesome, I would really love to see perhaps teen Blinky, Kanjigar, Dictatious and perhaps later vaby Draal?

We could get to see how Kanjigar met Ballustra, how Vendel and his relatives were like younger and honestly, I just love the idea of one of the Galadrigal parents a sorcerer and young twins getting into troubles for their researches, or even snuck outside to spy on humans and steal their stuff.

Honestly if I should get back to Vendel I would love to see him babysit (ofcourse they wouldn't be calling it this way) the twins or perhaps also Kanjigar and maybe Badwella(still don't know how it's spelled)?

OMG, we could see fluffy balls Bular and Aaarrrgh😍

Wait, how big is the age difference?

We could also see how Blinky and Aaarrrgh was getting along.

There's so much we could get to see. Now it's only matter of a destiny.

things from the books I wanna see more in TOA/Trollhunters fan works

books and show spoilers ahead (obviously)

- DRAAL AND KANJIGAR REUNITED IN THE VOID IT MAKES ME CRY

- SIR BARKS A LOT for one book Jim had a kinda pet wolf puppy who is the most adorable thing

- the moonlight armor, it was brief but SO COOL like give me more Troll Jim with a long bow and armored wolf companion

- Rob. the friend/betrayer/enigma fireball dude from the darklands. absolutely wild

- all the stuff from Arcadia-Con. give me fanart of Aja in the Sally Go Back cosplay because she slayed

- Barbara Lake being an absolute badass. we got a bit of it in the show but I need more of her book energy. Let her jump Merlin and beat him up. Drag him by the beard more.

- Jim mid transforming from human to troll, I feel like there’s some body horror opportunities there. Also let him have a lisp for longer. Gimme werewolf jokes.

- BABY DRAAL. AND BALLUSTRA. AND KANJIGAR. THEY WERE A WHOLE FAMILY FOR A BRIEF TIME.

- more Kanjigar and Jim interactions. They can talk in the void. They can hug.

Part 4 of Potential Highlights of Jim using his Troll variants.

1. Pandora and Mystic are accidentally mistaken as two people by some Trolls, specifically the fraternal twins of Aaaarrrgh and Blinky, with Pandora taking after Blinky and Mystic taking after Aaaarrrgh.

It shocks both parties that not only are they the same person but a human.

2. Ballustra sees Crystalback and says "Huh, I don't remember giving my son a brother".

3. When Ballustra sees Nomura and Draal, she looks between the two, then at Crystalback. Then laughing she pulls her son into a noogie saying "Seems you been busy" she joked "He's a chip off the old stone ain't he" 😆

4. Jazz Gnomeyear is musically talented like Gnome Chompsky, specifically with a bass or drums to play jazz.

5. Hoobs has a showdown with Fragwa (or the new Fragwa). Fragwa retouches his mustache. Hobbs takes out his own marker and makes a mustache and a goatee! As a show of dominance!

6. Dark Gardna can pick Kanjigar up pretty easy, much to the Trollhunters annoyance 😅

This is practically the first instance of someone thinking Pandora and Mystic are fraternal twins. Jim does his best to clear things up afterwards. Considering how whacky magic can be, some trolls believe our hero is a vessel for spirits and it allows him to transform.

Toby was laughing his ass off when he heard Jim mention this particular encounter. Especially as Ballustra practically adopted his best friend too. Jim is just a 'Please Adopt Me' sign for trolls.

Don't be surprised if a gnome band is made. Jam sessions usually happen in either Trollmarket or Toby's house. It helps the more rowdier gnomes mellow out as it's a nice outlet for that chaotic energy.

This tends to happen a lot. Whenever Hobbs is on the scene, the goblin forces temporarily split between the two for balance purposes. Any dominance standoffs usually end with the winner getting a boon for the next monthly prank war.

Jim takes full advantage of the size difference to tease Kanijar. The Trollhunter deserves to 'lighten up' a bit. Kanijar gets him back later once Jim is either normal size or smaller. Hold the boy by his scruff.

so, the side books are of.... uh..... dubious quality, but there are actually some good (or at least potentially good) characters to scoop out of it and enjoy. the annoying part of this is people having to buy and/or read the books in order to know what their deal is, which is both inconvenient and uhhhh not to everyone’s taste. especially since content in the books can in fact be genuinely, deeply upsetting in ways the author did not intend. and it can be difficult to convey information about their character to people solely through making content of them.

so! i’m considering making compilation posts for different books characters and/or lore, with screencaps/excerpts from the books as well as summaries, to get across What Their Deal Is in (questionable) canon. (as well as maybe either interjecting or adding on some fanon of my own in reblogs.) this would allow people to get familiar with them without having to either subject themselves to the books, or get the info in bits and pieces and all secondhand.

i’m going to start with the characters and threads/bits of lore i’m most interested in myself first, but i might take requests for other stuff later. in the meantime, who’s interested in summaries of which characters/concepts first?

• tellad-urr (trollhunter from before the journey to north america; was worn down physically and mentally by his job and mistreatment by other trolls, finally went mad and allied with the gumm-gumms in an effort to end his slavery to merlin. source material: age of the amulet.)

• skarlagk (gumm-gumm queen of a population living in the darklands who are not allied with gunmar, who has been waiting a long time to take revenge on him for murdering her father. she helps jim survive in the darklands and get to gunmar. source material: welcome to the darklands.)

• rob (half-changeling, half-helheeti, who was born and lives in the darklands; is actually the ‘WHOOOO ARRRE YOOOOUUUU’ guy from the episode with the fetch in strickler’s office. is an obnoxious weirdo who you will probably either find endearing or annoying. source material: welcome to the darklands.)

• kodanth (changeling who was sent to the darklands when deya sealed the bridge, and has been gunmar’s advisor alongside dictatious ever since; ended up being one-upped by dictatious and fed to gunmar’s army of monsters. source material: welcome to the darklands.)

• the dishonorable bodus (mentioned once or twice in the main series, author of the dangerous, future-predicting book of ga-huel; faked his death centuries ago and has been on the run from the janus order with his book ever since. is in fact an asshole and neutral evil as hell. source material: the book of ga-huel.)

• eloise stemhower (polymorph who disguises herself as a cute librarian; is actually an albino changeling with a prosthetic metal arm, and bodus’ double-agent bodyguard. is not afraid to go for some mix-and-match shapeshifting body horror. source material: the book of ga-huel.)

• ballustra (draal’s mother and kanjigar’s bond, who has outlived them both, is a badass, and is in search of her son’s body to avenge his murder and give him a proper burial. source material: way of the wizard.)

• angor rot’s love of and affinity for animals (source material: multiple.)

• angor rot’s trauma history and manifestations of PTSD, and some of the motivations stemming from it (not for the faint of heart because spoiler alert it’s treated fucking shittily lmao) (source material: primarily angor reborn, might be some scraps in other books idr)

i am probably missing some things off the top of my head, especially since i never finished, and bear in mind that a lot of the timeline of events is uhhhhh almost certainly not actually canon, and it may take me a while to make each summary post, but! i figure it’s an undertaking worth doing if anyone is interested. let me know what you think!
