How did i have not encounter any sasharcy au where sasha is a petty criminal who gradually warming and open up to marcy who is an innocent that got incidently involved with her but chooses to stay by sasha side and open her to another life that is more peaceful?
reincarnation or ‘in another life’ aus are my favourite but it is agonizing that the first lifetime wasn’t enough. The fact that the first lifetime, one lifetime just wasn’t enough and they need another entire lifetime to have a happy ending is tragic and cruel and it tears me apart.
how is an entire human lifetime, just not enough? why wasn’t theirs enough? it’s haunting to think of the unfulfilled promises and hopes and dreams that slip through their fingers - all that could have been, that they dreamed and wished would have been. just. never coming to fruition. abandoned. left to what ifs.
anyways this post is about bananafish after I listened to the loverman edits again
Questions from the fic post: 3. 13. 17. 36. 46. 59.
thank you!!
3. What are some tropes or details that you think are very characteristic of your fics?
"X and Y and Z" sentences/passages, my brain just always goes "oh you need to describe thing/state/environment? list exactly three aspects to it"
13. Are there any tropes you used to like but don’t anymore?
as a teen i used to be into the vintage-yaoi-bananafish "everyone was very sad and then everyone died" kind of angst, and now i'm a grandma that goes "oh you're tragic and doomed by the narrative? well now the narrative says you'll have 8 hours of sleep and the proverbial boy who loves you the right way. whatcha gonna do about it huh. cry perhaps? that's what i thought"
17. What highly specific AU do you want to read or write even though you might be the only person to appreciate it?
already done!
36. Do you visualize what you read/write?
with reading, yes, with writing – kinda sorta? mostly just the poses and the lighting tbh, but that may have to do with me predominantly writing non-modern settings so i'm like "they're in a Medieval Room. dear reader your idea of a Medieval Room is as good as mine so let's not get too much into it"
46. Do you prefer writing on your phone or on a computer (or something else)? Do you think where you write affects the way you write?
i use google docs on my laptop bc phone too small and i've written so many uni essays in microsoft word that now every time i open microsoft word my mind goes "THIS IS WORK. THIS IS CHORE. WE ARE STRESSED NOW. WE CAN'T" (unless i pick some crazy font, but then my eyes suffer)
49. What are you currently working on? Share a few lines if you’re up for it!
I think everyone who watched Banana Fish should watch Over the Moon for no reason other than the fact that it’s a beautiful movie about dealing with loss and grief
And if nothing else the soundtrack is absolutely gorgeous and a lot of the songs fit characters from Banana Fish if you’re an emotional masochist like me
au where Ash is a journalist and Michael is his assistant. they travel to Tokyo with the help of Sing and Yut-Lung after they heard the incident that happened there
Ash wouldn’t say he was pining, because he wasn’t, he was just acutely aware of how much of a sweetheart Eiji was, and how pretty his dark, dark eyes were (especially when the sun hit them and they glittered like gold). Anyone could see the softness of his lips if they paid him any mind (not that Ash was staring or anything).
So, he definitely was not pining, no matter what Shorter said or the fact that he’d memorized Eiji’s coffee and tea orders, or the way he preferred his steak, or what his favorite flower was.
It was hyacinth.
He liked his coffee half creamer with chocolate syrup and whipped cream.
He wanted his tea hot, with a lemon in it and honey, no sugar.
His steak was always cooked well done.
But that was simple, anyone who paid attention would remember that.
At least, that’s what Ash would tell himself when he and Eiji hung out at his house, and he found himself swooning a little over the way Eiji laughed, and how breathtaking it was when he smiled or how his sense of humor made Ash laugh stitches into his side..
Sitting up from bed, Ash blinked slowly and swore loud enough to wake up his foster mom.
