Traveling to The Banaue Rice Terraces (on the island of Luzon) where it is the heart of rice-terrace country and one of the great icons of the Philippines. Have been said to be like the 8th wonder of the world. The Ifugao are almost as famous for carving wood as they are for carving earth into green, fuzzy, rice-bearing steps. They were carved from the hillside by the tribes people of Ifugao about 2,000-3,000 years ago. The tribes people did this with their bare hands and crude implements, using primitive tools without using machinery to level the steps where they plant their rice with an ingenious irrigation system over 2000 years ago, which is what makes this wonder so attractive, aside from the fact that the rice terraces are still used today, an achievement in engineering terms that ranks alongside the building of the pyramids.     This is considered to be one of the greatest engineering feats of mankind, if laid out end to end, then they would reach 10 times as long as the Great Wall of China,ot the terraces would stretch 20,000km (that's halfway around the world) . The Banaue Rice Terraces were declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO only 13 years ago (1995) is closely tied to the future of the tribes people themselves. The Banaue Rice Terraces (as well as the other regional ones) are now facing erosion because of a decline in upkeep. This is the reason why Banaue is also part of UN's World Heritage Danger's List. the Ifugaos’ new generation is migrating to nearby cities in search of better opportunities. The rice terraces are stepping stones stretching towards the sky, where some of them reach almost 5,000 feet in altitude and cover about 4,000 square miles of land. There are many more rice terraces in Asia (f.e. on Bali_, but these in the Philippine Cordilleras are outstanding because of their altutude (up to 1500 meters) and steep slopes (maximum of 70 degrees). A complex system of dams, sluizes, channels and bamboo pipes keeps whole groups of terraces adequately flooded. Aside from Banaue rice terraces, nearby are 4 other similar Ifugao terraces: BATAD rice terraces. Also located in Banaue, it is home to the spectacular tiered, amphitheatre-shaped terraces. MAYOYAO rice terraces is similarly situated in Banaue. The organic Ifugao rice called Tinawon, in red and white variety, is harvested here in abundance. HAPAO rice terraces. Its stone-walled rice terraces date back to 650 AD and is located in Hungduan, where Napulawan terraces can also to be found. KIANGAN rice terraces. It is home to two famous rice terraces sites namely: Nagacadan and Julungan, known for their size and visual impact. It is interest to know that there is no land ownership around the terraces as such, but only the right to till, plant, harvest and maintain their family plots. Once the family ceases to do this, ‘ownership’ of the land passes to another, be it a neighboring farmer or relative of the original ‘owners’ . The best time to go is between February and May end, when it is least likely that the views will be obscured by low level clouds. Hotels in the region: Check availability, maps, photos and reviews before traveling, and book at the guaranteed lowest price.

Explore the Philippines and Metro Manila with this Guide!
Tour of the Philippines - Where to Visit
La Union: A coastal province of Luzon island, a 167 mile drive north from Metro Manila. La Union is renowned for its legendary beaches, surf spots, hikes, and hostels. It’s a common weekend trip for folks in Metro Manila, as it is for Cory and the band at the end of the book.
Cordillera: A mountainous province of northern Luzon, where indigenous peoples resisted hundreds of years of colonial rule. Cordillera is home to the famous Banaue Rice Terraces, hand-carved by hundreds of years of inhabitants.
Palawan: The westernmost archipelago of the Philippines, home to gorgeous marine reserves, coral reefs, UNESCO world heritage sites, and rare wildlife.
Batanes: The northernmost archipelago of the Philippines, a region with the smallest population and land area. Batanes is home to stunning island landscapes, rolling hills, centuries-old limestone houses, and the survivors of some of the strongest storms in the world.
Cebu: A major province of the Philippines in the Western Visayas, a group of islands where Ferdinand Magellan first landed to conquer the Philippines, before being conquered by the indigenous leader Lapu-Lapu.
Guide to Metro Manila - Must Sees
Metro Manila is the National Capitol Region of the Philippines. Approximately 25 million people reside in Metro Manila’s sixteen cities and municipalities. Much of Cory’s time in the Philippines takes place here.
Ninoy Aquino International Airport (or NAIA): Over ten million Filipinos, like Cory’s dad, leave the Philippines for work abroad each year. Their departure point is usually NAIA, the country’s biggest international airport, named for the presidential candidate assassinated on the tarmac during Ferdinand Marcos’ dictatorship in 1983. Cory’s parents both departed from NAIA, and Cory lands there for the first time in 2009, during the presidency of Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
Quezon City: The most populated city within Metro Manila, home to nearly three million residents and 142 barangays (villages). This is where Cory’s dad Rommel is from, and where her brother Jun still lives. Cory is overwhelmed by Quezon City at first, but she learns to maneuver it.
Maginhawa Street: A long thoroughfare of cafes, small shops, student hangouts, bookstores, and minimarts in Teachers Village, the barangay within Quezon City where Jun and Iggy live. Maginhawa Street and Teachers Village are near two of the country’s most prestigious universities: Ateneo de Manila University and The University of the Philippines, Diliman, where Jun is an engineering major.
Katipunan: A barangay of Quezon City where many university students study, hang out, and reside. It’s also home to music venues where bands like the 1890s play. Katipunan is named for the 1892 organization of Filipinos who resisted colonial occupation.
Makati: The business center of the Philippines, with corporations, banks, fancy hotels, embassies, museums, galleries, and department stores. This is where Bea works as a model.

Sure! ILOCOS asSURes relaxation😌💖
Tumblr media
Let's take a tour and go back and forth to this pleasant place!
Good day tourists! I am Jheslyn D. Uclusin, a member of Department of Tourism assigned to promote tourist spots in Ilocos Sur that assures happiness, greatness, refreshment, felicity and relaxation. I will make sure that you might encounter the best travel experienced here in Ilocos Sur. What are we waiting for? Come on, join me to enjoy the beautiful places here in Ilocos Sur😉.
The province is known for its rich culture, arts and history, the heritage sites, adventure parks, and of course, the food. But this time, we'll be putting the highlight on the beautiful places to visit here in Ilocos Sur.
Vigan is the capital of the province. Vigan is famous for its well-preserved Spanish Colonial town, historical Vigan tourist spots, and delicious food and delicacies. Because of its charm, it has been inscribed as one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites
Joining a day to trip to Vigan is a good idea if you want to explore other tourist spots as well.
1. Calle Crisologo
Tumblr media
Calle Crisologo is Vigan’s most popular tourist attraction. The grounds and pavements of this preserved street are made of cobblestones, and both sides are lined with ancestral houses that are reminiscent of old Spanish towns.
During the daytime, the street is a busy commercial district, with most shops selling quality antiques, furniture, and jewelry pieces.
You can indulge yourself in souvenir shopping, including native food products and delicacies, or snag world-class hand-woven clothing, blankets, and other accessories at Rowilda’s Weaving.
You can ride a kalesa (horse-drawn carriage), which is the only vehicle plying Calle Crisologo.
A kalesa ride is good for an hour and can take you around Calle Crisologo and the rest of the Vigan Heritage Village, including the Vigan Cathedral and Plaza Burgos.
It’s a totally different scene at night, as Calle Crisologo transforms into a dining strip where loads of people eat alfresco and enjoy drinks to cap the night off.
There are a lot of Calle Crisologo tours to try from, make sure to choose the one that fits your budget, schedule, and type of experience.
2. Pagburnayan Jar Factory
Tumblr media
The address is Liberation Blvd, Vigan City. One good thing about touring Vigan is that you get to learn a lot about its history, culture, and way of life through the town’s homegrown establishments.
Take for example Pagburnayan Jar Factory, one of the very few remaining jar factories around Vigan. It’s a popular must-try cultural activity in Vigan.
In order to help people appreciate the industry of jar-making, the factory is open for tourists who want to see and experience pottery making first hand, from simple, basic designs to more artistic earthen jars.
The staff will also tell you an interesting background about the origins of pagburnayan, the art of producing jars, which was inspired by Chinese traders who came to settle in Vigan and then later intermarried with Ilocanos and Ilocanas.
Tumblr media
Located within a good walking distance from Plaza Salcedo, this plaza is named after Padre Jose Burgos, whose statue stands as a reminder of the priest’s martyrdom in fighting the Spanish regime.
Here, you can take pictures, go people watching, or simply give your tired legs some resting time after a long walk around the area.
If you’re feeling hungry, you can grab a quick bite of the best-selling empanada, a kind of pastry turnover filled with minced meat, vegetables, and egg, which is one of Ilocos’ specialty food products on this side of the town.
It’s best to come here in the late afternoon or just before the sun sets since it can get pretty hot in this open space.
If you want to visit more tourist spots in Vigan, City just click this link:
3. Kaparkan Falls
Tumblr media
Kaparkan falls located at the Tineg, Abra. Abra’s falls come alive during the rainy season which is sometime from August to September. The rest of the year it stays dry leaving the limestone terraces empty. Even if you want to visit during the dry season, you won’t be able to because the area is closed off.
As mentioned, Kaparkan Falls is regulated by the local government. The max carrying capacity of the falls is 100 people at a time so visitors are only allowed in batches. Three hours are allotted per batch so maximize your stay at this natural wonder! Keep in mind that you might have to wait for your turn if a group arrives before you.
You can further climb down the pools to explore the area more. The limestone steps are not slippery despite being wet, but exercise caution anyway. Please be advised that there is no rest room in the area.
4. Sangbay ni Ragsak (Falls of Happiness)
Tumblr media
Sangbay ni Ragsak is located at the Suyo. It was first named as Burayok and named Sangbay ni Ragsak by Barangay Captain of Patoc-ao August of 2007. It is approximately 30 m in height. Its natural formation is inherent to mountain terrain. It attracts local and foreign tourists seeking ecological and natural surroundings to enjoy. Its pool area is not deep for diving. Nevertheless, it’s good for dipping with its cool waters.
5. Banaue Rice Terraces (Filipino: Hagdan-hagdang Palayan ng Banawe)
Tumblr media
The Banaue Rice Terraces are terraces that were carved into the mountains of Banaue, Ifugao, in the Philippines, by the ancestors of the indigenous people. The terraces are occasionally called the "Eighth Wonder of the World". It is commonly thought that the terraces were built with minimal equipment, largely by hand. The whole address is  Nueva Vizcaya - Ifugao - Mountain Province Rd, Banaue, Ifugao.
8.  Yamashita Cave
Tumblr media
Yamashita Cave is located at the Cervantes. Yamashita cave was the barracks of General Yamashita during the World War II wherein he and his soldiers executed their last stand in the war. The cave was found in the depths of the mountains. Rumors said that treasures are found beneath the cave which has the range of 64 meters.
9. Skyline
Tumblr media
The whole address of this skyline is Santiago - Banayoyo - Lidlidda - San Emilio - Quirino Rd, Quirino, Ilocos Sur. Visitors planning to visit the place would have to travel roads that could remind them of their Baguio City trips with all the long, winding and steep roads.  As visitors traverse the twisty mountain road, they would surely feel the temperature getting much cooler.  Drivers really need to be more defensive as visibility sometimes gets reduced due to fogs.
So you can witness for yourself the unfolding of the breath-taking yet sometimes rare sea of clouds, it is advised to travel early so you can arrive at around 5 AM.  If you are lucky as we were, the clouds will be there for your enjoyment.
Skyline has a view deck and they are currently constructing a new one.  When it is clear and it’s not foggy, the view deck offers a bird’s eye view of Quirino, Ilocos Sur, Tubo mountains and the Abra river.  Often in late afternoons, fogs would descend and there won’t be much of a view.  Your only consolation would be the teeth-clattering wind.
The place is gaining popularity here in Ilocos Sur and in our neighboring provinces like Abra and La Union.  Some riders from Baguio and Manila even take a detour to Quirino just to avail themselves of the sea of clouds without having to see one in Mt. Pulag.
For the hungry visitors, there’s a nearby store that offers hot water and cup noodles.  But of course, you can always bring your own coffee and snacks.  Just be sure to leave nothing but your footprints.  For a better outdoor experience, some visitors would even bring their camping tents and stay there overnight.
10. Hidden Garden
Tumblr media
The address is  008 Katipunan St, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur.  Hidden Garden features a restaurant and a cafe in a relaxing setting filled with tropical plants and flowers, carved wooden sculptures, and lots of clay pots. Taste some local delicacies at the restaurant or just walk around the garden past a bonsai corner, an artificial grotto, and a large birdcage housing white cockatoos. You can also buy some plants and burnay jars--unglazed traditional pots typical for Vigan. So you must bring money and personal hygiene etc.

If tropical islands, mind-blowing landscapes, and unending adventure are in your bucket list for a holiday trip, then you have found a gem of a destination with the Philippines.
It could be that you are searching for destinations in the Philippines in which to travel? You might be looking for day trips close to Manila?
You might be wanting to understand more about the people and the culture? Maybe it’s your first time travelling to the Philippines and you’re looking for some guidance?
You might be an expat living here who wants to break out of the expat bubble and try something different? Whatever your interest in the Philippines is, I’m certain I can help you out and provide the answers for you.
Here's the list of must visit tourist spots in the Philippines:
1. White Beach, Boracay
Long hailed as one of the best beaches in the entire world, Boracay’s claim to fame is its 4-kilometer stretch of pure white, powdery sand called White Beach.
Cliche as it sounds, but White Beach is truly postcard-perfect, with tall coconut trees lined up and crystal-clear calm waters rounding up its unmatched beauty making it a top attraction in Boracay trips.
Its prominence in global publications has drawn in an influx of tourists over the last decades and there is no shortage of hotels, restaurants, and bars in the entire island
Tumblr media
2. Chocolate Hills, Bohol
Tumblr media
Included in the UNESCO World Heritage Natural Monuments list, the Chocolate Hills of Bohol are a geomorphic wonder and truly a sight to behold. It is one of the best places in the Philippines to offer a unique landscape, with its 1,268 cone-shaped hills that turn chocolatey brown during the dry season, hence its name.
The limestone hills vary in size but almost look similar in shape and range from 30 to 120 meters in height. It’s a must-add in any itinerary for Bohol trips.
Make your way to the town of Carmen, where the Chocolate Hills Main Viewpoint can be found. Aside from the Chocolate Hills, there is also a treasure chest of natural wonders and other fun things to do and places to see in Bohol.
3. Puerto Princesa Underground River, Palawan
Tumblr media
The gateway to Philippine’s Last Frontier, Palawan, is its capital Puerto Princesa. It is here that you can find the world’s longest navigable underground river and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Puerto Princesa Underground River or the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park.
Paddleboats of the Puerto Princesa underground river tour cruise through scenic limestone cliffs as it makes its way through the 1.5-kilometer underground river cave.
The park is also teeming with wildlife like crab-eating monkeys, monitor lizards, and bats. Island hopping escapades in Honda Bay and a visit to the Crocodile Farm are also highly recommended among the many things to do in Puerto Princesa.
4. Cloud 9, Siargao
Tumblr media
Siargao’s inclusion to the top tourist spots in the Philippines is nothing short of meteoric. Once a sleepy island in Surigao del Norte, it has become one of the most favorite destinations and playgrounds for travelers, and it is primarily because of one activity: surfing.
It is now known as the surfing capital of the Philippines and some even regard it as the surfing mecca of Asia.
Surfers are drawn to Cloud 9, the most famous wave in the entire country. From November until April, all is well with Cloud 9’s thick tubes, making it a perfect place to get stoked (note: it is recommended for advanced surfers only).
But you do not need to be riding the waves to enjoy this island destination as there are also other fun Siargao activities and beautiful attractions like rock pools, waterfalls, and the nearby Sohoton Lagoon where you can swim with thousands of non-sting jellyfish.
5. Cebu’s Beaches and Diving Spots
Tumblr media
Cebu has been recently awarded as part of UNESCO’s Network of Creative Cities but its main treasure lies deep down. The island draws over two million foreign travelers every year, greeted by rich waters teeming with abundant marine life.
Cebu boasts some of the best diving spots in the entire country and even the world, featuring underwater caves, shallow shipwrecks, and marine sanctuaries.
White sand beaches of Cebu await visitors of Mactan, Camotes, and Bantayan Island. Off the northernmost tip of Cebu, tiny Malapascua Island packs a lot of surprises, including diving with thresher sharks. Check out other Cebu tours that you can add to your itinerary.
6. Banaue Rice Terraces, Ifugao
Tumblr media
Hand-chiseled some 2000 years ago, the Banaue Rice Terraces in Banaue of Ifugao, North Luzon is a remarkable destination and is truly one of the most beautiful places in the Philippines.
Sit atop a colorful jeepney as it cruises along winding roads in Banaue and views of dramatic mud-walled rice terraces leave you in awe.
The Ifugao people were highly skilled in carving both wood and mountainsides. The Banaue Rice Terraces is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it offers spectacular views of emerald hues during the rice-growing seasons of April-May and October-November.
Banaue may pack a lot of tourists so you can make your way further to quieter Batad Rice Terraces and take a quick dip at its mighty Tappiya waterfalls. You can also explore nearby Baguio City or pick fresh strawberries in La Trinidad, Benguet.
7. Rizal Park, Manila
Many travelers skip Manila and make their way to the Philippines' other islands but a day or two in the country’s capital to do Manila tours is still highly recommended.
Hustle and bustle aside, Manila features a lot of tourist spots of historical importance. One of which is the Rizal Park, or more commonly known as Luneta.
This 60-hectare urban park is where you will see the Rizal Monument, marking the execution site of the country’s national hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal. Manila Bay’s breeze keeps the Philippine flag waving from a 46-meter flagpole fronting his monument.
The park also features manicured gardens, ponds, and a wide water fountain that lights up and dances to Filipino tunes by sunset. The park area is also home to a network of National Museums that you can visit.
8. Kayangan Lake, Coron, Palawan
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Undoubtedly one of the most photographed and iconic destinations in the Philippines is the Kayangan Lake in Coron, Palawan. Its lagoon is a dreamy mix of blues and greens glistening on a bright, sunny day.
Kayangan Lake tours will take you to the jagged limestone cliffs and islets surrounding it add up to a more dramatic view, best seen from a 10-minute climb up a hill.
Funnily, this view is not of the actual Kayangan Lake but the area where the tour boats park but it is still breathtaking nonetheless).
As spectacular as the views from above ground are what is hiding underneath the actual lake’s glass-like waters. Rock formations and schools of fish abound, making the area a favorite snorkeling and free-diving spot for a lot of visitors.
The island destinations is also famous for island-hopping excursions and diving in its numerous shipwreck sites among many other must-try Coron adventures.
9. Kawasan Falls, Cebu
If you like jumping into or swimming in cool cascading waters, Kawasan Falls in Cebu hits the sweet spot. It is a multi-layered waterfalls in the town of Badian and it is best known for its turquoise waters.
The first cascade, with a height of 40 meters, is where most visitors stay, swim, and enjoy a natural water massage on board a bamboo raft. A 10-minute trek takes you up to the quieter second cascade.
Kawasan Falls is also the endpoint of the popular adventure activity, the canyoneering adventure. It starts in Kanlaob River in the town of Alegria and you make your way to Kawasan swimming along streams, rappelling through natural rock walls, and jumping off mini-waterfalls.
Nearby is the town of Moalboal, famous for its sardine run experience, where you swim with millions of sardines just offshore.
Tumblr media
10. Taal Volcano and Lake, Tagaytay, and Batangas
Tumblr media
Locals and visitors of Manila take a quick escape from the megacity and make their way down south to Tagaytay, a retreat and relaxation town famous for its cool weather and fresh air.
This is also where you can take a full view of the Taal Volcano and Lake located in Batangas, the world’s smallest active volcano. The volcano sits on an island within a lake within an island, and if that is not interesting enough, you can actually visit the actual volcano crater with excursions to Taal Volcano.
An outrigger boat first takes you to a 15-minute ride to Volcano Island and from there, you can do a 35—minute hike or hop on a horse’s back going all the way to the main crater.
While in Tagaytay and Batangas, heat up your trip with a delectable bowl of Bulalo, a clear broth with beef shanks, bone marrow, and corn swimming in all its golden glory.
&&.
It is impossible to visit all these famous tourist spots in the Philippines in one go unless you have all the time in the world. But carefully planning out your Philippines itinerary will surely take you to some of the most unforgettable landscapes and fun-filled adventures you will ever see and experience.
Aside from its spectacular views, the Philippines is also home to one of the most hospitable, warm, and free-spirited people you will ever meet. Read more of our Philippines travel guides to help you plan the ultimate escape.

Best Hiking in Ireland and Other Unique Irish Adventures
Tumblr media
If you want to fully experience one of the most naturally beautiful places in the world then you must go Hiking in Ireland. The rolling green fields, stone fences, savage cliff coastlines and  medieval castles make it one of the most awe inspiring locations for a great hike or country walk. It is one of the greenest place I have hiked in the world, right up there with my home area of the Pacific Northwest and Hiking the Banaue Rice Terraces in the Philippines. Then you have the Irish themselves who are some of the friendliest people you will ever come across. Everywhere you go, whether a city or small village, you will find a pub filled with welcoming  locals, music, dancing and stories of myths and legends. A perfect place to rest your feet and quench your thirst after a day of hiking the Irish hills and valleys. So where do you hike in Ireland? Well the list is almost endless but to get you started I have created a guide to some of the most scenic hiking spots in Ireland and Northern Ireland. Here you will see some of the best this island has to offer while hitting up a few iconic photographic spots as well.
Best Hiking in Ireland and Other Unique Irish Adventures
1. The Cliffs of Moher
Tumblr media
At over 700 feet tall these cliffs are magnificent to view. They are one of the most visited attractions in Ireland and can get busy during peak season. I suggest going early in the morning when they first open. There is a great walk along the cliffs. They do have a small wall barrier but this can be easily hopped over for a full cliff hike experience. Be careful as winds can be very strong when walking too close to the edge. You can literally fill up a whole card of images here. Look below and see the power of mother nature slamming into the walls. Scenes from great movies like The Princess Bride (Cliffs of Insanity) and Harry Potter and the half blood prince have been filmed here. Here is a 360 experience for the Cliffs of Moher Galway is one of the best places to stay as a home base for seeing the Cliffs of Moher. A bustling center with so many pubs to explore when you are not exploring nature. Galway Hotels
Tumblr media
amzn_assoc_placement = "adunit0"; amzn_assoc_search_bar = "true"; amzn_assoc_tracking_id = "fitlivilife0f-20"; amzn_assoc_ad_mode = "manual"; amzn_assoc_ad_type = "smart"; amzn_assoc_marketplace = "amazon"; amzn_assoc_region = "US"; amzn_assoc_title = "Need Hiking Boots?"; amzn_assoc_linkid = "33a38752be483519504a3cf72d996db5"; amzn_assoc_asins = "B00KWK3RMG,B071GRLXXV,B008J5F8NC,B00YBBA8SS";
2. Ballybunion Cliff Walk
Tumblr media
South of Galway is a little town called Ballybunion. Along the coast is a great walk along some beautiful beaches and picturesque cliffs. This walk has been used by visitors for the last 100 years. You can also explore a pretty castle and some lovely sand dunes. Most people can easily spend a couple hours here exploring.
3. Clogher Strand Beach
Tumblr media
A must see stop when driving around the Dingle peninsula is Clogher Strand. There is a car park here and even on the calmest day, this little cove is spectacular to view. The rocky shore and cliffs are battered by wind and waves up to 26 feet high. There is a wonderful hike from this cove along the countryside and cliffs to the Pier at Wine Strand. This is some of the best hiking in Ireland. This route takes about 3 hours, but you can make your way back via a road if you do not want as long of a walk. Many movie fans may recognize this area as the Irish countryside that Tom Cruise's character was from in "Far and Away."
Tumblr media
Dingle is an iconic Irish village worth a stop itself. It has one of the biggest food festivals and also is home to one of the most famous Dolphin's by the name of Fungie. Locals say this same dolphin has made this it's home for the last 32 years. Dingle Hotels
Tumblr media
4. Slea Head and Dunmore Head
Tumblr media
Easily accessible from Dingle, this is the most western point in Ireland. You can park at Coumeenoole Beach and head up to see Coumeenoole Ogham Stone. This particular Ogham stone is believed to be a place of worship for someone named Erc to the goddess Duibhne(Dovinnias). It is a bit of a hike up to the stone through fields of sheep and over a small fence, but the views from there are one of a kind. You have a heavenly view of the Blasket Islands to the west and nothing else until North America behind them. To the east you can view Slea Head beach and endless miles of green countryside. Put this one on your hiking in Ireland list.
5. Gap of Dunloe
Tumblr media
The Gap of Dunloe is a scenic narrow mountain pass just outside of the popular town of Killarney, Ireland. A popular way to ride through the pass is with a jaunting car or pony guided by locals who live around the gap. You can also find some of the best hiking trails in Ireland here. Many also choose to bike through the area. There are even rock climbing routes in the area for those looking for a more extreme adventure. The Dunloe gap is about 7 miles long and consists of 11 lakes connected by the river Loe and an old arch bridge called the "Wishing Bridge." The gap was also a filming area for the movie "The Crying Game." Killarney is your best bet for a place to stay in this area and is a wonderful town full of pubs, delicious food, live music and amenities.  There is also the Killarney National Park to explore and definitely worth a visit when in Killarney. One of the largest parks in Ireland. Killarney Hotels
Tumblr media
6. Bog of Frogs Loop
Tumblr media
Dublin is an epicenter in Ireland. Many people just stay in Dublin for pubs, music and food but there is adventure just outside the city along with some great Ireland hiking. Within the town of Howth is a fairytale hike through enchanted forests and up to an amazing lookout. This whole area known as Howth Head was immortalized in James Joyce's book Ulysses. One of my favorite Howth hikes is Bog of Frogs that winds through an enchanted forest of gnarly trees which locals say is full of fairies.  Check out Shane's Howth Hikes for guided Ireland hiking tours of this area. Need a spot for lunch? Don't miss the delicious seafood at Octopussy's Seafood Tapas Restaurant on the Howth waterfront. Coming from the Pacific Northwest, I know seafood and this is good seafood. Need place to say in Dublin? Dublin Hotels
Tumblr media
7. Dalkey Island
Tumblr media
In the town of Dalkey just outside of Dublin you can kayak over to Dalkey Island with Kayaking Dublin. This drops you right into Lord of the Rings-like terrain. The kayak trip over is full of encounters with seals and beautiful coastline. Then you touch down on the island which is covered with rock and a spongy Irish moss. I chose to go barefoot and literally felt like a hobbit exploring the island.  If overnight stays were allowed I may not have left. The island was used by the Vikings as a holding area for slaves they had captured and a base for attacks and defense. This uninhabited island has been used for various purposes for 6000 years. It is now home to goats, seals, rabbits and legends.  Want lunch in Dalkey? Look no further than The Dalkey Duck Looking for more adventure? Zip It Forest Adventures may be what you need. Packed with fun and challenging routes for beginners to advanced. The Red Circuit is an upper body killer!
8. Hellfire Club (Mount Pelier Hill)
Tumblr media
One of the most haunted buildings in Ireland wrapped up in witchcraft and satanic rituals. The Hellfire Club had multiple meeting locations around Ireland and some of the most influential and richest men in the country would partake in these gatherings. This old hunting lodge built by William Connolly is on top of Mount Pelier Hill. Locals share stories of debauchery, sacrifices and even the devil himself at this lodge. The hike up to the lodge is gorgeous with views of Dublin to the North and the Wicklow mountains to the South. The lodge itself sits on an old burial site in which adds to the haunted tales and stories of satanic rituals. You can explore the building and feel the eerie presence of those who may have died at this site. Watch your step as the building can be damp and dark. 9. Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge
Tumblr media
Situated in Northern Ireland along the coast is a rope bridge not for the feint of heart. The bridge is 65 feet long and 100 feet above the rocks below. It connects Carrickarede island with the mainland. It is a nice scenic walk down to the bridge, there is a fee to cross it. On the other side you can explore the old fishing dock and take the stairs to the top of the island. Upon returning across the bridge to your left you can follow the trail to a nice lookout spot for a great photographic view of the bridge and island. This will loop you back to the parking area. Not some of the best hiking in Ireland, but definitely a unique and beautiful area. Plan to stay in Belfast? Belfast is a prime city to situate yourself when exploring Northern Ireland. You can visit Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, Giant's Causeway, Dunluce Castle and The Dark Hedges all from Belfast. Belfast Hotels

10. Giant's Causeway
Tumblr media
One of Northern Ireland's most visited natural wonders. An area consisting of about 40,000 interlocking basalt columns. This is the by-product of an ancient volcanic eruption and is now a UNESCO site. Legend denotes the columns are the remains of a route built by giants. To get to the columns you must park above near the Visitors Center. Remember entrance to the Giant's Causeway is free but use of any of the facilities like the car park requires payment. In slow season you may be able to stop for a drink or snack at the pub and use their parking area or find parking along the road or a wall near the visitors center. It is a bit of a hike down along the coast to get to the columns, but a fairly level road to walk on. Once there, you can spends hours climbing and exploring the area. One the weirdest landscapes next to Cappadocia, Turkey.
Tumblr media
Are you a Game of Thrones fan? When you are on your way to the Giant's Causeway or any other of the Northern Ireland Coastal locations, you can stop by the Dark Hedges. Used in the popular TV series Game of Thrones. The massive and unique trees curve over the road and give an eerie and medieval feel to them. Here is another article about Game of Thrones in Dubrovnik.
11. Dunluce Castle and Cliffs
Tumblr media
The medieval Dunluce Castle sits right on the edge of the coastline of Northern Ireland. Something right out of Game of Thrones or Lord of the Rings. On all sides of the castle are steep drops which made it an ideal fortification for early Christians and Vikings. There is a cool little bridge connecting to the castle plus a waterway escape to the ocean from under the castle. You can spend a good hour exploring the area and walking through the castle. Plus the area is beautiful for a cycle or a good ole Irish walk along the coast. Read about another Historic Trail here.
12. Glenveagh National Park
Tumblr media
Glenveagh National Park is an adventurers paradise. In the county of Donegal in Northwest Ireland lies an oasis of trails, cycling, fishing, vast landscapes and a picturesque castle. In reality this area provides some of the most remote and best hiking in Ireland. Entry to the area is free, but services will be extra. At almost 40,000 acres, this park provides countless hours of exploring. It consists of most of Derryveagh Mountians, the Poisoned Glen and part of Errigal Mountain. You can rent a bike with www.grassroutes.ie to discover more of the area. Fishing can be done on Lough Veagh from July 15th - September 30th. Contact www.donegalanglingholidays.com to arrange. Derry, also know as Londonderry is just over the border in Northern Ireland, but provides a good home base for exploring County Donegal. It is a sight to explore by itself as well. It is a walled city with various 17th century architecture to see. LondonDerry Hotels
Tumblr media
Another option for accommodations is Ireland 's Blue Book. They provide access to Irish Country House Hotels, Manor Houses and Castles for a more unique experience.
13. Slieve League Cliffs
Tumblr media
Just over 2 hours from Derry, these Irish cliffs are said to be one of the best cliffs is Ireland. Larger and just as spectacular as the Cliffs of Moher. I am talking almost 3 times higher. You get wonderful views of Sligo Mountains and Donegal Bay from the top of the cliffs where the ocean devours the rock below. If you are feeling like a little extra adventure, head onto One Man's Pass which connects around to Pilgrim's Path. This is one of Ireland's best hiking trails in Ireland and goes along one of Ireland's most impressive coastlines. The best part is this area is less explored than many other parts of Ireland, at least for now. Thanks for reading. Another detailed article about an Ultimate Road Trip from Belfast to Derry, Northern Ireland is here. Let me know if you think any new hiking in Ireland adventures should be added. The Philippines is a tropical paradise in the Pacific Ocean made up of more than 7,000 islands that offer a natural playground for your inner explorer. Collectively, its landscapes feature an array of natural wonders, from volcanoes and rice terraces to underwater rivers and limestone caves, along with beautiful beaches.
Individually, the islands each offer something unique, whether you are looking for the best place to dive and snorkel or prefer to take in the historical sights in cities like Manila or Vigan, which have deep colonial roots.
Since the country is so spread out, a trip to the Philippines requires careful planning so that you can connect with the proper guides and find the most convenient lodging as a base for your favorite activities.
White Beach, Boracay
There is no shortage of pristine beaches in the Philippines, but if you are looking for a more active beach scene, one of the best places to visit is White Beach in Boracay. This is the most populous beach on the island but where you will find ample opportunities for boating and other water sports.
Plenty of chairs and hammocks are beneath the palm trees, so you can relax and enjoy the pure white sand. You can even book a beachside massage. Snorkeling is a popular activity at White Beach, but if you do not want to put in so much work, take a banana boat ride or book a trip on a glass-bottom boat.
Mayon Volcano, Albay
Most visitors will want to enjoy the volcano by viewing it from the ground. Nature trails in the national park grounds surround the volcano, where you can also see wildlife like parakeets and other birds.
The Mayon Volcano in the Albay province on Luzon Island is a must-see in the Philippines. It is an active stratovolcano with an elevation of more than 2,400 meters. The Mayon volcano has a perfect cone peak.
Extreme hikers can apply for a permit to climb the volcano, but it is a difficult trek through forest, and dangerous gases are emitted near the peak, so caution is advised. The ideal time to visit is March through May, outside of the rainy season. You can take an organized trip from Manila to get here
Chocolate Hills, Bohol
The geological wonder on the island of Bohol known as the Chocolate Hills is a unique natural phenomenon. This UNESCO World Heritage site is a protected area that features more than 1,200 small mountains that emerged above the ground over several centuries. The area was once under the ocean, and these unique hills expand in every direction.
They are green during much of the year, but during the dry season, they turn to a chocolate-brown color, thus the name, chocolate hills. A convenient path leads to the top of a lookout area, which provides the best view. Be sure to observe the many delicate flowers along the walkway that are unique to this area.
Underground River Tour, Puerto Princesa
Taking a river tour of the Underground River in Puerto Princesa is one of the most awe-inspiring things to do in the Philippines. The underground river on Palawan Island is inside the Subterranean River National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The boat tours take you to experience the majestic five-mile river that runs below ground. The trip takes you through an intricate cave system surrounded by vertical limestone cliffs.
You can observe ancient stalagmite and stalactite formations as the coolness of the cave balances the tropical heat outside. As you float through the dark caves on emerald water, your guide will identify points of interest and tropical wildlife that lives along the river, which flows into the South China Sea. A full-day Underground River Tour from Puerto Princesa, includes hotel pickup and drop-off and a buffet lunch.
Batad Rice Terraces, Banaue
Viewing the Batad rice terraces at sunrise in Banaue is an unforgettable experience. This is especially recommended for landscape photographers who want to capture compelling images of Philippine agriculture. Some of these terraces are more than 2,000 years old and represent a common form of farming in the country.
The stacked terraces are carved by hand into the mountainside, creating vertical farming fields in a region void of flat land. Workers commonly plant rice and vegetables. You are able to walk some roads above the terraces that give you the best view by looking below. Early morning and dusk provide the best light to illuminate the electric green color of the fields.
Taal Volcano
The Taal Volcano on the island of Luzon is one of the most active in the country. It is in the center of Taal Lake, so just getting to the crater is part of the adventure. The city of Talisay, where you will catch a boat to get to the crater, is less than an hour's drive from Manila. You will catch a boat to go across Taal Lake then hike to the rim of the crater.
There are a number of trails around the volcano. The Spanish Trail goes to the top of the volcano and has some of the most impressive views. The less popular Kenney Trail is a good option if you want to avoid potential crowds or if you think you might want to rest along the way. This trail has quite a few shade trees.
Due to the logistics involved in visiting Taal Volcano, you might want to consider an organized day-tour.
Cabagnow Cave Pool
Although Anda, Bohol, is more popular for its white-sand beaches, the Cabagnow Cave Pool is a spot you wouldn’t want to miss. To enter the deep blue (or sometimes emerald green!) pool, you can either jump off the cliff into the water or go down the stairs. DG Tip: Make sure to come early, at around 8 AM, to avoid the crowds.
Entrance fee: ₱50
Basco Lighthouse
Built in 2003 to guide local fishermen, Basco Lighthouse offers a 360-degree view of Basco Town and Baluarte Bay. It can get extremely windy, though, so avoid wearing hats, sunglasses, and other small items that can easily be flown away

BANAUE 2018 Part 1
I’ve been busy with a lot of things that I didn’t get to write something about my trip in Banaue last July 2018. I went there for work that is why I won’t be putting here any travel + food expenses. Just wanna share my first ever Banaue experience! Enjoy reading, loves!
Tumblr media
Here’s a photo of my coffee while having our stop over at Nueva Vizcaya (Hi sleeping doggo!)
Tumblr media
We stayed at Banaue Hotel and Youth Hostel located at Banaue, Ifugao 3601, Philippines. It was my home for two (2) weeks and I would highly recommend the place. It’s not as luxurious as the hotels we have in Manila, but it’s very comfortable and will give you a very rural yet homey vibes. On our first night, we were welcomed by the staff and some locals wearing their traditional clothes. They were also playing a lively traditional music using instruments such as gongs. Our delegates came from different parts of the world who all share one passion, that is music. I, myself, also appreciate music even traditional ones that is why we were all excited as we enter the hotel.
Their staff are accommodating, very friendly and nice. They will always greet you with bright smiles. At first, they were very formal when they greet you but because I stayed there for two weeks, they eventually became comfortable and familiar (but still professional) so they started talking to me, asking me things and such. And that is really fine with me because talking to them helped me relieve stress in a day.
Tumblr media
The food at the hotel is superb (and healthy too!) They offer a wide range of food. My personal favorite is the local rice and coffee. I’m DEFINITELY not a morning person but aside from work, their breakfast buffet + splendid view of the terraces is also a reason for me to wake up early just so I could make it to breakfast haha
Every day we have workshops related to traditional culture of Banaue and some days, we invited locals to perform, share and teach their culture with our delegates.
To be continued…. (more photos + experiences of the Banaue terraces ++ brief background of the recent project why I went to Banaue)

The God Stealer
Story by Francisco Sionil Jose
Tumblr media
Summary:
The story begun with two close friends, an urbanized Ifugao local named Philip and a American named Sam.  Philip and Sam were heading to Ifugao because Sam wanted to a buy a genuine Ifugao god as a souvenir and Philip was there to help him so he leaded the way by riding a bus. As an Ifugao local, Philip had local connections in able for him to get an authentic Ifugao God. Philip is now considered a Christian city boy and has no longer respect for their religion as a result, he doesn’t have any more plans in returning to the mountain life. Despite his changed attitude, his Grandfather still greeted him by throwing a party for his arrival and honor. On the day of the party, Sam and Philip knew that there was no Ifugao local willing to sell their God for some reasons. Philip was desperate to get a God figurine because he wanted to show gratitude for Sam to give him a rise at work so he planned out on stealing the God of his Grandfather. On the next day, his Grandfather died be discovered that his God was stolen and as a result Philip will no longer go back to the Manila. Sam looked for Philip and found him working in his Grandfather’s house. Philip explained why he chose to stay in the mountains, he can’t forgive his self for what he had done because he wanted to getaway from the mountains. Because of his selfishness he killed the man he loved most. Sam noticed that Philip was wearing their traditional costume and carving something. Philip gave Sam a new God which he will take to America as a souvenir.
Analysis:
I’ve noticed that the name of the two main characters have symbolisms, Philip was derived from the word Philippines and Sam which I think was derived from Uncle Sam, a representation or figure of the United States of America. This story is full of symbolisms and one of it is the friendship of Sam and Philip which represents the relationship of Philippines and United States. The story shows us the value of our heritage, it talks about how we should take care and preserve our treasures for the next generations so let us appreciate and value what we have and where we came from. 12 insider tips for first-time travellers to the Philippines
Travelling to the Philippines for the first time? Guess what? You don’t have to spend a fortune to indulge on an epic trip in this Asian hub. As long as you play your cards right, and travel like a local, you can have a blast, and experience all the charms and eccentricities of the country, without breaking the bank.
Here are a few local travel tips that will definitely give you a memorable, smooth yet affordable trip in the Philippines.
Travel tips for first-time visitors to the Philippines
Tumblr media
Source: Kai Lehmann, Flickr
1. Don’t squeeze everything in one trip
Unless you’re paid to travel, you can’t see all the best sights and tourist destinations in the Philippines in just one trip. Remember, there are over 80 provinces and 7,600 islands in this archipelago. In other words, it will take you a year or even more to see all the recommended spots in the Philippines.
For a smoother and more affordable trip, pick two to five destinations only. It is a vacation, not a laundry list you need to tick off. Take it slow and enjoy every moment of the holiday.
2. Pick a base city or island group
The Philippines is essentially divided into three major island groups – Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Each island group has a major international airport that connects Singapore to the country.
From Singapore, you may arrive in Luzon via Ninoy Aquino International Airport or Clark International Airport. To get to the heart of the Visayas region, book a flight to Mactan Cebu International Airport. As for Mindanao, there are daily commercial flights from Singapore to Davao International Airport.
Picking a base is an important step when planning a trip to the Philippines. Not only will it set your travel budget, but it will also let you pick the destinations that best suit your preferences. To help select the right base and destinations for your trip, we’ve listed down the best places to visit for every major island group in the country.
Luzon:
Vigan
Banaue
Batanes
Laoag
Sagada
Visayas:
Cebu Island
Iloilo
Bacolod
Apo Island
Bohol
Siquijor
Mindanao:
Bukidnon
Davao
Cagayan de Oro
General Santos
Surigao city
Camiguin
3. Sort out your logistics
Traveling around the Philippines can be a little overwhelming for Singaporeans. Well truth be told, even local travel junkies may find it difficult to navigate through the country, with its undeveloped rural areas and a multitude of transportation options available. That’s why you need to plan your trips diligently, and sort out your logistics carefully.
Check out ferry schedules, bus routes, and fares for every form of transportation. Better yet, reach out to the best travel bloggers from the Philippines, and get some informative tips on how to save money on your logistics and transportation.
4. Brush up your Filipino
There are more than 130 languages and dialects across the Philippine archipelago. Yikes! But the thing is, you don’t have to memorize all the important phrases of each dialect to experience the country like a local.
English is widely spoken in the country, and you’d rarely bump into a Filipino who can’t understand English. In fact, English is taught in daycare centers and schools, as one of the country’s two official languages, ensuring that even little kids can understand you here.
Nevertheless, learning a few important Filipino (the national language of the Philippines) words and phrases may come in handy in several situations. Not to mention, vendors and locals will be friendlier and even praise you if you try to talk to them in their native tongue. Who knows? You might get a good bargain or a freebie by just speaking a couple of Filipino words at food stalls or a flea market.
Important Filipino words and phrases:
Magandang umaga: Good morning
Magandang hapon: Good afternoon
Magandang gabi: Good evening
Pasensya na po: Excuse me/sorry
Tulong: Help
Magkano po to: How much is this?
Kamusta: How are you?
Salamat: Thank you
Hindi: No
Saan ang..: Where is…?
Paalam: Goodbye
Opo: Yes
Pwede pong magtanong: May I ask you something?
5. Learn how to talk to strangers
Address the Filipino men as pare (buddy), pogi (handsome), kuya (a Tagalog term for older brother or any older male), chief (for policemen and security guards), and bossing or boss. When speaking to female, call them ate (a Tagalog term for older sister or any older lady) or simply “miss”.
6. Jeepneys as your main modes of transportation
Tumblr media
Source: Bernard Spragg, Flickr
For a Southeast Asian country, Philippines is fairly developed, with a wide variety of options, when it comes to transportation. From buses and trains to carpools and taxi rides, there are plenty of ways to get around the major cities in the country with ease. If, however, you’re looking for something cheaper that will give you a taste of the local life, look no further than the colorful jeepneys.
Sure, they aren’t the most comfortable way to travel, but they only cost PHP 7 to 50 (S$0.20 to S$1.39) per ride per person, depending on the distance of the trip. On average, the taxi flag-down rate in the Philippines is PHP 40 (S$0.84), and PHP 2.50 (S$0.70) for every 2 minutes of waiting time or 300 meters.
7. Tone down the tourist accessories
Tumblr media
Once you are in the Philippines, you will most definitely want to take pictures of your trip. But, if you really want to blend in with the locals, you need to tone it down a bit. Having a big DSLR hanging on your neck, wherever you go, is like wearing a placard saying that you are a tourist and an outsider. Moreover, it can attract skilled thieves.
Don’t get us wrong – cameras are an absolute must for Singaporeans travelling to the Philippines, especially for first-timers. But, try to keep it under wraps, and don’t point your camera where it’s not welcome. The same goes for your other travel essentials and gear, like guidebooks and fanny packs. You may bring them, but always keep a low profile.
8. Opt for cheap accommodations
From lavish beachside resorts to opulent 5-star hotels, the Philippines has no shortage of incredible accommodations to offer to Singaporeans. While these options are great and fabulous, they can cost you around PHP 4,000 to 50,000 a night (S$111 to S$1,394).
For those who are on a tight budget, though, there are inns and backpacker hostels in every major destination in the Philippines, with prices ranging from PHP 300 to 1,000 (S$8 to S$28). What’s more, there are Homestays that cost around PHP 150 to 500 a night (S$4 to S$14).
As with the rest of the world, Couchsurfing is also a viable and great option for Singaporeans travelling in the Philippines.
9. Traveling during the low season
Tumblr media
Most travellers avoid the Philippines between the months of June and September. Prices for flights and hotels drop significantly during these months. According to a survey conducted by Lonely Planet, booking a room between these months in the Philippines will save you 20 to 40% on hotel costs.
10. Avoid the festive or holy weeks
To keep your Philippines holiday cheap, avoid the Holy Week, or the Lenten Season, as much as possible. In general, the Filipinos are religious and they place great importance on the preparation and celebration of these holy festivals. As a predominantly Catholic nation, the festive periods create a high demand on tourist centers, flights, and transport services.
Consequently, charges for local services tend to skyrocket during these periods. If you want to save cash on your holiday in the Philippines, don’t visit during the New Year, Christmas, and Lenten season times.
11. Book early
You get better and cheaper deals on flights, when you book your flights early. Just make sure to use a reliable flight search engine, to score great flight bargains.
When booking your travel to Philippines, use your travel credit card for hotel bookings. This will earn you bonus rewards as well. The DBS Altitude Visa Signature Credit Card, which gets you 3 miles for every S$1 spent on hotel and flight bookings, is one card you can use.
12. Eat at market and street food stalls
Just like Singapore, most major cities and destinations in the Philippines have an eclectic mix of restaurants with an array of mouthwatering treats to offer. But to save big bucks on food during your trip, make market and street food stalls your source of daily meals. For PHP 100 (S$2.79) or even less, you can enjoy a hearty and tasty meal (good for two) in markets and street food stations.
BankBazaar.sg is a leading online marketplace in Singapore that helps consumers compare and apply a credit card, personal loan, home loan, car loan and insurance.

Collaboration needed to unleash potential of gov’t tourism assets
#PHnews: Collaboration needed to unleash potential of gov’t tourism assets
MANILA – Senator Sonny Angara said collaboration between the public and private sectors should be explored to develop the full potential of the government’s tourism assets.
Speaking at a recent forum organized by the Ateneo School of Government, Angara said tourism is one area where a possible partnership between the government and the private sector could be explored more extensively.
“Government owns a lot of assets. But let’s face it, the government is not the best at running these enterprises. You’re not maximizing earnings in these enterprises,” Angara said in a news release on Sunday.
As examples, Angara cited the Banaue Hotel and Youth Hostel and some islands in the Visayas, which are owned and operated by the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority, which he said are prime tourist destinations that could use a little help from private enterprises with strong track records in developing such assets.
“If you could make them attractive, maybe the private sector could come in and do some variant of BOT (build-operate-transfer). They can make it profitable, they can make it nice and then turn these back over to the government at some point in the future,” Angara said.
Angara said this is still a largely unexplored area of public-private collaboration that could provide a boost to the tourism industry, generate a lot of economic activity and provide employment for Filipinos.
The tourism sector was among the most badly affected sectors when the Covid-19 pandemic hit the country as restrictions on travel were imposed.
While the tourism sector does not appear to be on the top of the priorities of the government at this time, Angara said its revival will have to be addressed once there is more certainty regarding the health and safety of travelers, both domestic and foreign.
“Tourism contributes a great deal to the growth of our economy. It is lamentable that the pandemic struck at a time when the sector was already recording impressive growth,” Angara said.
He said tourism will continue to be a driver of growth once things go back to normal.
“With the right programs and investments, including closer public-private collaboration, I believe the Philippines could easily compete with the best in the region because of how much it has to offer,” Angara added. (PR)

Dream, I controlled.my dream😅
Yeah, I just woke up and I didn't want to forget what happened. However, it was a dream that I think I dreamt of it before😅 it was really weird.
So here's what happened, I am with my friends, fg excluding the one who is above already. We are with Sarah Geronimo. HAHA. I thought of vlogging that time, so I took up my phone and started to take a video of us. The content of course has something to do with Sarah, she's a singer and an actress! So I took the chance.
Me: "Are you really Sarah Geronimo? The singer?"
Sarah: "Yes, I am" she said it in a casual way, looking at her dress. Yea, she was holding a black dress. Backless with yellow roses covering the top portion. It was only above the knee. After some time, her husband, Matteo showed up with suit, then they joined the video. Before ending it, they showed sweet gestures to each other.
Not to mention, we are in a wedding. That time, it was the wedding of Matteo, with another woman. 😅 I didn't see the woman, it was like she's not an important part of the story, she was a blur. It was an arranged marriage to a family of high class, I think it was nearly a royal family. We were in a luxurious hotel, I think its the reception because there are a lot of people eating. We were in our ordinary clothes then.
You know how dreams are weird, once we went down on the base of the hotel where Matteo passed by, our clothes became formal, I am still with my friends. Once we got down, Yvan is the one getting married. Yes, Yvan Sarol Tundagui😂😅 still, we don't know the woman, she was the one who belonged in a high class. But Yvan's father that time is not as rich as the girl's family. I don't really remember but he got embarrassed most of the time because the girl's dad and relatives are giving him a hard time. I mean, they asked where are his part of the wedding, the payments, the pig, (I don't know why a pig is required, but its a wedding and I think it has something to with our culture here in Banaue), and others. As for us, we thought it was just a normal marriage and we were aware of it being an arranged one, and the groom has someone he really loves. And so, the wedding goes on, we were eating and watching which eventually became a jamming, they played songs and we sang along, asking each table there which songs they prefer. When it's our turn to choose, we chose the song, One Day. Actually, I did. Me, being half awake thought of that song. Sadly, they don't have it. After some time, we felt the gap between us and the family, we are being discriminated, the high class and the low class😅
They had this conversations na sinasadya nilang iparinig samin, sinasabing we don't belong there. We stayed silent and observed. Of course I can't, we can't accept this treatment.
"Eto ba? Eto bang pamilya ang napangasawa niyan?"
My dream shifted, from being with my friends to me being alone and helping in the kitchen. As of controlling my situation, hindi ako nagpatalo sa treatment nila. From being a guest, I became a worker. The father of the bride is the one evil, the one who discriminates. At first, I was answering him back in my head. Pero sumosobra na siya, sabi ko sa dream ko. I told you, I am in control of my dream. I made myself answering back the "almost" king, they are really mayaman you know.
He was in the kitchen, I was about to eat and have my rest but I have to wash the dishes because it needs to be done. Once I finished, he came and shouting saying that what are we doing ? We should be working because there are a lot of guests. I turned around to face him and I answered back, he became silent for a moment then went near me. I don't know what exactly happened but I know, I controlled myself back then to fight back. He was I think suppoesed to hit me but as I said, I was controlling. Iniwasan ko yung sampal niya which made him froze for a while. Never thought that someone will talk back and fight back. I am not afraid of his wealth and stand. In my thought is that, this is not right. Someone has ro fight back. I was half awake. After thinking of that, I woke myself up. I was aware that it was a dream. But I am really half awake. My dream even had a subtitle but I can't read there. I remembered reading something like, you can't read in your dreams. And I proved it two times already. Now, I will wait of having a dream that incluses reading.
9:44 am.
1:04 am, 02-34-21. I edited this and realized that I think we don't really control our dreams. It's just that we know and expect what we will do when we are in that situation. If not, then I think we can somehow control our dreams when half awake, butr connot control it entirely.

A jeepney from Banaue (P150 for tourists) will bring you to the Saddle or to the end of the paved road down from the saddle. From the end of the road it's around 15 mins walk on mud. Or you may get lucky and if you jump on a jeepny that is just about to leave for the Saddle you may pay only P50. The afternoon jeepney leaves around 2pm. May 2015 the road to the Saddle is being paved and extended beyond "Saddle" but not all Jeepney will go pass beyond Saddle bcs the road is very steep. Also, be advised that not all jeepneys stop at the Saddle; some stop about three kilometers short of it, at the Batad Junction. From here, it's a 30-minute walk up to reach the Saddle (or if you are lucky, try to stop a nice 4WD). There are two jeepneys in the morning and one at about 3 pm at Banaue. May 2015 at hotel lobby i was quoted Php 150 per person 1 way for ride from Banaue to Saddle. If you can't get a public jeepney get a trike (tricycle) to the Junction or "Saddle" from Banaue. One way trike fare to Saddle is about Php 500 as per May 2015 and is good for 2 person. One way trip fare to Junction may cost around Php 100-200. You may be quoted more, so pls ask around. There are often tricycles headed to the Junction and Saddle to pick up returning travelers, especially after 10 am when there are no more jeepneys out from Batad. Walking in from the Junction will take one to one and a half hours. #follow #dubai #malaysia #india #usa #ig #art #adventure #siargao #filipina #singapore #like #food #igersph #boracay #japan #pinay #wheninmanila #islandlife #beautiful #explore #foodie #instatravel #wowphilippines #igersmanila #asian #vacation #naturephotography #pinasmuna #discoverevolutionphotography (at Batad, Iloilo, Philippines) https://www.instagram.com/p/CGKed1vsZWg/?igshid=lgzxnpwmoner
