"Banksy’s support for the Palestinian people is evident, from his street art throughout the West Bank and Gaza to The Walled Off Hotel in Bethlehem." from Ilesha Magdelena, 26/Mar/2024:
Do you agree/disagree with the sentiment that art isn’t resistance? It’s just something I’ve seen discussed a bit lately.
Art is most definitely a form of resistance when it is the creation of people who want to preserve their identity in the face of colonialism and cultural theft. However, white men sneaking into areas where Palestinians aren't allowed to walk to stencil some vague white dove onto the apartheid wall is not art let alone resistance.
“The thing I hate the most about advertising is that it attracts all the bright, creative and ambitious young people, leaving us mainly with the slow and self-obsessed to become our artists.. Modern art is a disaster area. Never in the field of human history has so much been used by so many to say so little.”

“People say graffiti is ugly, irresponsible and childish... but that's only if it's done properly.”

“Graffiti is one of the few tools you have if you have almost nothing. And even if you don't come up with a picture to cure world poverty you can make someone smile while they're having a piss.”
― Banksy, Banging Your Head Against A Brick Wall
I don't know if street art ever really works indoors. If you domesticate an animal, it goes from being wild and free to sterile, fat and sleepy. So maybe the art should stay outside.
Byłyśmy z siską (btw powita niebawem nasze grono tumblrowiczów) w Be Happy Museum.
🎨 Wstąpiłyśmy też do Banksy Museum, świetne miejsce.
