Danny was doing some research on ghosts to better understand his future subjects when he discovered that he himself fell into the category of Banshee due to his wail. He also discovered that male Banshees are extremely rare and that Ember is also a Banshee. He uses this information to both bond with the pop star ghost and to learn how to channel his wail. Danny needed an excuse to explain how he gets money without having a job so Danny starts a YouTube channel and becomes a singer. He doesn't realize his voice has an almost hypnotic effect on anyone who's been brought back or liminal. His music becomes extremely popular and he sets up a patreon to earn money. One of his songs gets discovered by Steph who in turn shows it to the rest of family and suddenly her siblings, except Duke are suddenly obsessed with this new singer and are trying to figure out if he does live concerts or meet and greets

If you were in Stranger Things characters style be, how did they get involved in the upside down, and what is their weapon of choice?

Style: I feel like I would kind of have a mixture of soft girl and punk/goth. Like I’d wear big chunky shoes and studded chokers but still wear things like soft white sweaters and pink. But always with blacked out smoky eyes and dark brown lipstick. (Is this basically the reader in my new fics aesthetic? Yes but that’s bc she’s low key a self insert lmoa.)

How I got involved: I moved a few trailers down from Eddie in middle school and we became fast friends. Bounding over our love for Tolkien, Horror, and D&D. 80s Dolly would definitely listen to goth girl music like The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshies, and Depeche Mode. So Eddie definitely opens me up to the world of metal when we meet. We are the same age and tbh I was ass in school, I didn’t even graduate so I could see myself being a super senior with him once and then just saying fuck it and getting a job at the record store in town but still being super supportive of him finishing school. I’d stay in Hellfire though and that’s how I’d end up meeting the rest of the gang. I’d become fast friends with Robin and we would talk about anything and everything. I’d definitely not trust Steve at first but then we would all three end up being super tight. I’m going to divert from cannon and not include the upside down. I’m just vibing, working in the record store, hanging with the gang. When Eddie makes it big he takes me with him and I get to live my fantasy of being rockstar gf turned wife.😌✌🏽

Weapon(if I had to use one): Butterfly knife for sure, and I can do cool tricks with it.

This is so funny to me. This manga is published in shonen jump so having a minor drink alcohol is probably not something the editor would approve LOL but the fact they still made sure to depict what the casual-but-responsible parent would do if their teenager asked them about alcohol (introduce it in a positive environment while they are there to supervise) makes me laugh. Of course Akane's mom would take this as an opportunity to connect, she loves her daughter and wants to give her daughter the tools to make her own decisions, which has been consistent in her parenting style from day 1. It's a delightful breath of fresh air from the depiction of parents in shonen, who are usually too dead to do anything. It shows how the story is dedicated to capturing the magic in life, rather than create magic itself, which makes perfect sense given the grounded nature of Akane-banshi. Akane's personality also shines in this panel, her head-strong young teen antics are contrasted with her intense level of discipline. She dedicates that same level of discipline towards her craft, which is the whole reason why she was considering to drink alcohol anyways: to be able to portray a drunk person. The way that Akane-banashi balances comedic irony without straying from it's core themes and characters really highlights how it's a masterclass in storytelling.

kanaya's anxiously nipping around checking up on everyone to make sure they're having fun, they have sunblock, they're staying hydrated.

checking the grill a lot and otherwise mostly relaxing under the canopy, playing sitar, watching the kiddos.

frifaj, banshi, and alhena are annihilating anyone at volleyball that dares to cross them. they are SUPER competitive.

if not playing volleyball, alhena is offering to give people tours of the tide pools (she's very into marine biology)

suhail and tamzah are mostly doing board games

tamzah + dezato are also going deep diving a lot since they're the seadwellers. when dezato is on land he faceplants a lot. kid is not coordinated

#work got super busy so this is just a basic rundown. there's tons of food. transportalizer directly between the beach and kanaya's place #so there's access to the ablution block. beach is at the base of a cliff and there's stairs leading up to kanaya's house. #very pretty gardens surrounded by a big forest if anyone needs a quiet space away from the beach. #ooc #i'll post more later i have to get back to work. later though
