Maccadam and Rung. Both old as heck, orange, have huge eyebrows, give out sagely advice, and have mysterious past.
These two would be best friends.
Reposting to experiment with Tumblr's features. See rough drafts below the cut.
Tumblr media
I imagine these two gossiping over noteworthy figures like two schoolgirls.
Maccadam: How is Froid?
Rung: The same, but his ego is way bigger.

I used to make the rounds of the bars—Julius’s for those fat hamburgers on toast, then the San Remo, the Kettle of Fish, and the White Horse. Booze was a social thing. The bar scene wasn’t just to get drunk. It was like the public square in a town or a sidewalk café in Paris—comradely meeting and talking.
—Art d’Lugoff, founder of the Village Gate nightclub, about the 1950s in Greenwich Village

In the bar scene, when Aziraphale finds Crowley and Crowley tells him about losing his best friend, Aziraphale's response is let's say a little underwhelming, maybe even somewhat awkward? A little bit what someone would say when put on the spot "What do you say in these situations? Help!" kind of thing.
Tumblr media
That makes me think that Aziraphale has no clue that Crowley is talking about him. So if not him, then who? Maybe the "old friend" Crowley was with the last time they talked.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Aziraphale didn't know who this "friend" was. A fellow demon maybe? Crowley said Hell was coming for him but he may have had an actual friend there, who knows! Aziraphale was too busy to really spend time pondering this question so for all he knows Crowley did have a friend... and could this have been the mysterious "best friend" that Crowley lost? It could be, who knows! "so yeah, errr, sorry to hear it, but let's move on, apocalypse is almost here, let's focus" seems like an ok response. Let's remember that they can't see each other in this scene, they just hear each other. So imagine you are working in an important project, you make a breakthrough and run to your office to tell your boss. Said boss tells you they are not interested. On the way back, your car breaks down, now you are stranded in the middle of nowhere. So you call your friend and he is distraught because he lost his best friend. You probably won't think it is you because well, you are right there! a little inconvenienced but other than that you are ok, why would you ever think he was talking about you? If it were you, he would say, right? So yeah, I think Aziraphale probably thought Crowley was referring to someone else, and that someone could have been whoever he was with when he called 😋

Hello :) Can you explain to me what's happening in the scene you just posted of Lestat sitting with Louis and Tom Anderson? then the camera zooms on a guy sitting behind Lestat and Lestat walks by him? I just never understood that scene.
Hey!
You mean this one?
Ok, so Tom is trying to lure them, right (keep them away from their home), and at some point it dawns on them, so Lestat tells Louis: "One each."
What he means with that is "you may/shall mark one for later." Because they don't have time to kill them now (in a way that would work without too much suspicion, bc both men would require a special kind of effort.)
The guy in the back that Louis is going to? That is the chief of police Bardeen, who is currently having their house searched - and who Claudia, always going after cops when she can, kills in episode 7.
Louis is going over to him, and Bardeen is hypnotized and frozen - spellbound by the mind/spell gift - before Louis reaches him. Now, the surrounding people are still moving... but not anymore when Lestat smiles, and gets up to scratch the little "funny" x into Tom Anderson's cheek. At that point the whole bar is frozen.
We don't get to see if Louis also scratches an x into Bardeen, but it stands to reason he did. Which... in and by itself is quite the statement. A visible claim, and they, the mortals(!) knew who did it.
Now the scene, imho, served several smaller purposes:
The chief of police is shown, an important farewell kill later
The passage of time is illustrated with the prohibition
The hypocrisy of it all is obvious
There is a layered awareness on both sides (Tom Anderson, Bardeen, vs. Louis and Lestat) of the dangers
It's made clear Tom is going to be a big shot in this town
And, last but not least: Louis and Lestat have both practiced their skills since last we saw something similar. The first time we saw this from Lestat, there were a handful of people in the poker room. Next time, there were 20+ soldiers and bleeding ears/exhaustion. This time... this time he dazzles (whatever you want to call it) the whole bar. Easily. And Louis himself also dazzles, at least one person. And knows what Lestat means. That... carries implications^^.
Also, if I may: that scene has them both almost ethereally beautiful. Now, I mean, those men are beautiful in their natural state already, but in that scene? Flawless makeup. Chef's kiss.
Let me know if you have more questions!
