‎‎‎‎‎ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ‎‎‎ㅤ╔⏤⏤⏤╝❀╚⏤⏤⏤╗
‎‎‎‎‎ㅤㅤBruce...
...at first, didn't realize just how miserable he'd feel after you guys broke up. Well, after he broke up with you.
He thought that you being possibly tied in to his life as Batman would make things oh so dangerous, and that maybe you'd be better off without him. And that just maybe he'd be better off without you.
But boy was he wrong.
After day one, he missed your presence.
After day three, he started missing your touch. Hugs, kisses, cuddles, the works.
After one week he missed seeing you whenever he came back to Wayne manor after patrol or whenever he'd had a long day being out and about Gotham, whether as just his regular self or patrolling the streets, fighting crime as Batman.
By week two, not even focusing on patrolling could keep you off his thoughts. It didn't exactly help that he knew your schedule. Actually, not even just knew. He had it memorized.
So he'd find himself particularly drawn to patrolling the area around where you lived more often, sometimes even doubling back to the area. Sometimes even three times.
Of course, it took a full month [and seeing you going on your first date since the break-up] for him to take action. He'd started sending gifts at first. Small things that you liked, whether it be books or lots and lots of flowers.
Then the gifts just got more and more expensive, more grandeur. After all, he is a billionaire, so it wouldn't hurt his bank account. Plus, it was a gift for you. So why wouldn't he?
If you still didn't take him back then, he starts sending you texts. Just cute little things such as "i miss you" and whatnot.
And then the in-person confessions, gift giving, and what-not started after. He'd drop by [after making sure no one was around to see at least three times] your apartment while he was in his full Batman getup, bringing you some smaller, easier to hide away things like bracelets and necklaces.
And during the day, he'd be where ever he'd knew you'd be. Whether it was your apartment, your job, anywhere, he'd personally come deliver you yet another gift.
Takeout from your favorite place? He's brought it to you for lunch.
He saw you post about something [whether it be a stuffed animal, jewelry, etc] on social media because it's cool or cute? It's been hand delivered to you by him.
"I saw you talking about how much you wanted these, so I got them for you. Why..? Because I miss you."
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ➶ 。˚ °
‎‎‎‎‎ㅤㅤTim...
...was devastated when you broke up with him. He didn't realize that all this work being a vigilante that made him miss out on oh so many dates had taken as big of a toll on your relationship as it did.
And by the time he'd realized, the cracks had already formed, and you'd broken up with him. You wanted a partner who could meet you half-way, even if he was a little busy at times.
But that didn't stop him from immediately trying to win you back. Gifts? You've got it. Whether they were bought or handmade, it didn't really matter. He'd get you something.
Not to mention the texts, phone calls, voicemails, everything. He's going the full nine yards to show you just how sorry he is, and just how badly he wants you back.
"I know I've said I was sorry so many times, but I really am! I promise I'll do everything in my power to be there for our date nights, so please take me back.."
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ➶ 。˚ °
‎‎‎‎‎ㅤㅤDick...
...definitely wasn't expecting for you to break up with him. Sure, he's been in plenty of relationships before, but he'd never expected you to get the courage to tell him you wanted to break up.
He didn't even realize he missed you as much as he did until one night while patrolling, a month or two after your break-up, he saw you walking along the streets of Gotham.
And damn were you still as pretty as the first time he saw you. In fact, scratch that, as pretty as the last time he saw you. Which was when you broke up with him.
So from then on, when Gotham is just a little less quiet and he can afford to do a little slacking off, he walks with you. You had this weird routine of walking for an hour at night, anyway.
At first he made small-talk. Asked you how your day was, why you were taking a walk [he already knew why. he just wanted to hear that pretty voice of yours more!], how you'd been since the break-up, if you were seeing anyone [this was extremely important and he'd express why after a bit of prompting], as one does.
Then it ramps up to him telling you how much he missed you, how pretty and attractive you were still, the works. He then ramps up to just blatant flirting, maybe even making sure he was touching you in some way, like an arm around your shoulder. Or maybe even subtly holding your hand under the premise of him wanting to show you something that you didn't know the way to.
And after that, if you still didn't miss him enough to take him back? He's just obvious. Asking you on dates, showing up to your home with gifts, everything. He'll go the whole nine yards for you, just so you'll take him back.
"Aww, c'mon! Just one date, sweetheart. Please? I promise that if you don't want me back after just one date I won't bother you again."
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ➶ 。˚ °
‎‎‎‎‎ㅤㅤJason...
...definitely didn't want to admit he wanted you back until it's been nearly six months since you broke up, and words going around that your starting to date again.
This pisses him off, for reasons he wasn't sure about.
So before you know it, he's popping up just about everywhere. Getting him to admit he missed you and regretted the breakup is no easy feat, and you'll likely not ever get him to admit it out loud.
I can't really see Jason making any grand or large gestures, just small little ones that maybe have some sort of sentimental value.
He'd probably drop by your home every now and then. If he's hurt in some way, you bet your ass he's right there on your fire escape, knocking on your window to let him in.
Even if it's just something so incredibly minor he could take care of himself, he's using it as an excuse to see you again.
While he's not totally experienced with being overly romantic, he's got his moments of being just a little bit sappy.
"Why go through the hard work and trouble of finding someone else if I'm right here?"
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ➶ 。˚ °
‎‎‎‎‎ㅤㅤBabs...
...wasn't expecting to miss you after you two broke things off. She figured she'd be fine on her own, but she was quickly proven wrong.
I can see her giving gifts, but she'd be more-so trying to spend as much time as she could with you. Texts, both early morning and late night phone calls, voicemails about how much she regrets breaking up, and probably more.
Lot's of "I miss you" and "I still like/love you" texts, maybe some "Can we please get back together?" texts mixed as well.
She'll make how much she misses you known.
"Please come back, I miss our little movie date nights."
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ➶ 。˚ °
‎‎‎‎‎ㅤㅤStephanie...
...is just like Jason in a way, when it comes to realizing she misses having you around.
But she does come to terms with the fact that she misses you. She'll be a little hesitant to admit it in words, but she'll make it known in small gestures.
The breakup was definitely amicable, so you two are kind of just awkwardly still friends. But any time you two hangout, it borderlines being a date.
Movies? Only if it's something that will remind you of stuff you two liked to watch together when you were dating.
Going for a walk? She'll make sure you two just so happen to pass by a spot you guys went to for your first date.
She'll even still pretend to "accidentally" call you by the nicknames she had for you whilst you were dating.
But if even that doesn't work, she'll just start making you two "hangout" at places you've gone to for dates before.
"Wow, this place hasn't changed a bit since the last time we were here, huh? Brings back memories."
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ➶ 。˚ °
‎‎‎‎‎ㅤㅤCassandra...
...of course, isn't really sure what to do when she notices she's missing you. You were probably one of her first relationships, which just only adds onto her confusion of what to do.
She'd probably go seek Babs and Stephanie out for advice, asking them what they think she should do. Just what she should do.
After getting advice from the two, she thinks it over for a little bit before she starts anything. She probably also tries to feel you out to check if you feel the same way she does.
And if you do, or if she finds out your unsure, she starts giving you small gifts. And I mean small. Just mostly little trinkets and knickknacks that she finds while out and about.
Buttons? Pins? Small figurines, no bigger than the palm of your hand? She's getting them for you.
Of course, this is to help her just get a little confidence before she drops the question about getting back together.
And when she does drop the question, she tries to make it sound like she's being genuine. She probably brought another small little gift, maybe one of your favorite snacks.
"I know you said you liked these when we were together, right? I know you may think I wasn't really.. paying attention, but most of the time, but I promise I was. And I'm sorry I didn't do that great of a job of showing you that I cared about you. Please take me back?"
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ➶ 。˚ °
‎‎‎‎‎ㅤㅤKate Kane..
...is both similar to Stephanie and Jason. While she'll think she's better off without you, there's almost a constant reminder of you somewhere in her world.
And it just draws her back to you.
It's very much a push and pull sort of thing with her, as some days she's fully willing to admit just how much she misses you and wants you back, while others she'd never admit to even a word of it.
She'll also bring you sentimental gifts sometimes. Mostly just leaves them somewhere she knows only you will find them with a little note attached.
Though the contents of the little notes will greatly vary from "I miss you", "I know you like these so I got them for you", to just her name sometimes.
Saw these and thought of you. -K
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ➶ 。˚ °
‎‎‎‎‎ㅤㅤDinah Lance...
...is most definitely bold and maybe even a little bit flirty. When she realized that she definitely wasn't ready to move on from you quite yet, she put all her effort into wooing you back.
She'd probably try to play off the fact you two are suddenly running into each other at things you like, it's really just so she can see you again. Making you unintentionally [but kind of purposefully] think of her again whenever you thought about the things you like.
After a bit of this, though, she just downright starts asking you out to dates. If she knows certain places hold sentimental value because they were your favorite date spots with her, she'll ask you on a date to there again.
"Oh? Didn't know you were coming here today. Maybe it's a sign you should just let me take you on a date today."
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ➶ 。˚ °
‎‎‎‎‎ㅤㅤHelena Bertinelli...
...wasn't usually the type to dwell on her exes. But you? You were all that was on her mind after the breakup.
While she spends many a night deleting text after text, trying to come up with the right set of sentences to tell you just how much she misses you and wants you back, she does eventually send something.
And from there she just gets a little bolder.
Lingering touches, like her hand grazing against yours if you are handing her something. Staring at you for just a few seconds longer than needed, all that stuff.
It does take her a bit of time to get the confidence to just straight up asking you out on another date, though when she does, she's already got it all planned out.
"Do you still like that one restaurant we went to for our anniversary? .... Why? Oh, well, I wanted to make sure I didn't need to cancel the reservation I made."
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ➶ 。˚ °
‎‎‎‎‎ㅤㅤDiana
...didn't have thoughts of missing you. At first.
She did start thinking of you again when you two were assigned on a mission together. And all it did was really get you stuck in her head.
The way you looked, whether it was the way you fight or just generally how you look in your vigilante costume? It just kept replaying in her head over and over again.
So now anytime your out and about doing your own thing, under your vigilante guise? She's found an excuse to be joining you.
Whether that excuse is "you looked like you needed help", or "my patrols been pretty quiet, so I thought I'd join you", she's always got some excuse you can't argue back about.
Eventually she starts dropping hints about wanting to get back together with you. But whether she's good at dropping these hints or not is entirely up to how oblivious you could be.
Eventually she just tires out of dropping hints and just makes you look at her when she just drops the question. Think of the classic "grabbing your chin and turning your head to look at them" kind of deal.
"How about we go out this Sunday, hmm? ... Yes, on a date. What, did you think I was going to ask you to patrol with me or something?"
ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ➶ 。˚ °
‎‎‎‎‎ㅤㅤDamian...
...most definitely is stubborn when it comes to your break-up. He doesn't even want to entertain the thought that the reason he might be so grouchy whenever he sees you talking to someone else, or hears about how you may be crushing on someone else, is because he misses you. And is jealous, of course.
Even the sheer mention of your name around him, whether it be from his older brothers [mainly Dick because he is most certainly the teasing older brother type], he get's all grouchy and almost pouty.
He does try to help you out around school, though. He may act all mean and cold towards you, he'll act like he's "reluctantly" helping you out.
"you can't be trusted to carry this stuff," he'll try and say as he takes that stack of chairs, books, whatever it is in your hands away to do it himself. His hidden little agenda is that he's hoping you'll miss him because of him helping you out.
His "compliments" aren't always easily understood as such, though. "You didn't do terrible, for once" he might say as he hands you your graded test.
In order for him to get the courage to ask you out again, though, will definitely take some coaxing. [And maybe some teasing from Dick, too]
But when he does, it's a 50/50 chance of him saying it in a sweet way, or in his usual cold and almost brat-like demeanor.
"If I take you out on a date, will that get you to shut up for at least five minutes?"

Son of the Red Hood: Part 3
Diana sat in her seat surrounded by her peers among the Justice League. It was a full meeting between the primary members of the League and the so-called Justice League Dark. The magic users were in the midst of informing the rest of the League about a minor demonic incursion that they had routed. The full meeting for such a minor event wasn’t strictly speaking necessary, however Batman did love to host these debriefs.
She let her eyes rove over the Bat for a moment before returning her focus to the Zatanna as she spoke. She wondered if he even knew he was harboring a powerful king trapped in the form of a child? Truly Kronos- Clockwork’s riddle was not so difficult to parse. She wondered if it were a requirement of his position that he give his advice in a manner that was as unclear as possible or if his many millenia were simply weighing on his mind.
Zatanna seemed to be wrapping up her part of the debrief and it looked like Batman was about to call the meeting adjourned. Before he could she leaned forward and cleared her throat. Bruce immediately turned his glare to her, not that she cared, he didn’t like the meetings he planned changing from the set itinerary.
“If I may,” she waited for Zatanna’s nod before she continued. “I was investigating a matter in the library of Themyscira when I came across a name. There was little other information available and the author spoke with great fear of the name. What do you know of a being known as Pariah Dark?”
Constantine had been trying to subtly sip from his flask as she spoke and when she dropped the name he spit his drink all over a very annoyed Flash. For how fast the man is capable of moving you would think he would be able to dodge a spit take.
“Where did you come across a name like that?” Constantine almost shouted, standing from his seat.
“In the archives of Themyscira. I just said that. Why? Have you heard of it before?”
“Pariah Dark is only one of the greatest world ending- no reality ending entities in existence!” Now he was shouting. Completely unnecessary, she was only a few feet away from him. Thankfully out of spitting range. “The King of Ghosts could make Trigun look like a child playing with matches. It took an entire council of the oldest and most powerful of his kind in order to defeat him. If someone is messing around with a power like that, you need to tell us.”
Diana kept her face carefully neutral, giving him a considering look. It would seem that even the most well informed of the magic users of the League weren’t aware that there had been a change in power among the Ghosts.
“Thank you for your warning. I will ensure that these tomes are better secured where curious eyes could not stumble upon them.” She gave them a magnanimous nod of her head as Constantine took several large swallows from his flask. Zatanna turned to him with a smirk on her lips.
“Wasn’t the Ghost King one of the beings you sold part of your soul to?” She asked him.
“Well yeah, sure. It’s not like he was going to be around to collect you know?”
Diana contained her smile with difficulty. That would be interesting to deal with eventually. Pariah Dark may not come to collect, but maybe this new boy king would. Maybe having a child having partial ownership of his soul would teach Constantine to be more careful of what he does with it.
Bruce made eye contact with her across the table, even with his mask she could see his slightly raised eyebrow. She merely gave him a smile and a small nod of her head before she stood and left the table as the meeting broke up.
.
Jason and Dick were seconds away from either tearing their hair out or going for each other’s throats. Dick had watched over the sleeping Danny while Jason quickly and methodically removed the guns, knives, explosives, more guns, or other weapons from his apartment. Some were removed to the bedroom where Jason said he would be getting a gun locker to keep Danny out. Most he had to move to other safe houses.
Then Danny had woken up. Jason didn’t have any macaroni and cheese in his house, which was apparently the only thing the tot wanted to eat so Dick had to run to the corner store to pick some up while Jason tried to look over Danny’s injuries. Except when Jason pulled out the medical kit Danny panicked and wouldn’t let him come near him because Jason would “pull him apart.” That caused another flood of green to fill Jason’s vision that Danny had to clear away with all the sternness a child of five could muster.
Once his vision was once again clear, he managed to get Danny to sit still and let him look at his injuries with multiple promises that he wouldn’t hurt the kid, would never hurt the kid and if anyone else tried to hurt the kid he would make them regret it. The vivisection scar on Danny’s chest was fortunately healed, apparently it was a much older injury, and Jason was able to treat the burn on his side easily enough.
Jason was almost filled with rage all over again when he saw how many other scars Danny had on his little body. There were Lichenberg Figures carved from his hand up to his heart. There were multiple old burn scars on every different part of his body. The one part that seemed to have been spared was the boy’s face.
So of course Jason was already furious when Dick finally returned to the apartment. Apparently Dickie-Bird had problems with almost getting mugged, getting yelled at by the store clerk and then had a kid steal his bag of groceries and had to chase them down. He wasn’t even in uniform, maybe the people of Crime Alley could just smell cop on him. Now the previously calm Dick was bubbling with his own frustration that even Danny’s powers over the pits could do nothing against.
Dick showed just how bad of a cook he was and burned the macaroni, somehow, setting off the smoke detector which made Danny panic, then he had started shouting over the beeping that Dick was making it wrong and Jazz always made the macaroni just how he liked it. Why was his sister the one primarily doing the cooking, not his parents? All in all the three boys were angry, frustrated and at least one of them was on the verge of tears when they heard a knock at the front door.
Jason grabbed a gun as he went to check the door despite Dick’s dirty look. He checked the peephole in the door and was surprised to see Barbara Gordon sitting in her chair. She made a “get on with it” gesture to him, apparently able to tell he was behind the peephole. He opened the door and was further surprised to see Barbara had brought Steph and Cass with her and all three were carrying a variety of grocery and shopping bags.
“Aunties Steph, Cass and Babs here to the rescue!” Steph said in a sing-song voice.
Jason didn’t move from the door, only glaring at them all.
“Did Dickie call you?”
Barbara didn’t put up with attitude and instead rolled forward forcing him to either move or sacrifice his toes to her wheels. She rolled her eyes as she entered, with the other two Batgirls coming right behind her, Steph with an enormous smirk on her face and Cass looking in curiously, trying to catch sight of Danny.
“Dick told you himself that I was the one to notify him that you were leaving your turf and you know I monitor the family’s coms, especially when you’re involved.” Barbara said.
Jason wanted to rage. He wanted to be furious that they were monitoring him like a wild animal, watching every conversation he had with the others lest he return to his murderous ways. He waited for the green to fill his vision again as the Pit Rage took over. Yet nothing came. It seemed like even the Pits were tired. He closed the door behind them with a weary sigh.
“Smart choice.” He said quietly, drawing a concerned look from Barbara.
Steph was knelt in front of a very shy looking Danny offering him a hand to shake. He slowly shook her hand and gave her a smile before having to hide his face for a moment.
“I’m your Auntie Steph. This is your Aunt Cass.”
Danny gave Cass a small wave. Cass signed to him in return. Then to the surprise of everyone there, Danny began signing back, enthusiastically carrying on a conversation with both of his new aunts in both babbling English and in ASL.
“Hey kiddo, where did you learn how to sign?” Jason asked in surprise.
“Jazz taught me!” He said, happily signing what he said as we went. Jason realized his name sign for his sister was a “J” that twisted into an “I love you.” That was cute as hell.
With multiple aunts in the room, Jason banished Dickard from the kitchen and set about making actual quality mac and cheese. Among the numerous bags the girls had brought was all manner of things a single dad would need to care for a five year old. Somehow, Babs had even gotten clothes that were perfectly sized for Danny, just from what she could see of him in the mask vids.
Eventually with a dinner done that was deemed “good enough” by Danny, Jason is finally able to sit down and relax. He can’t help but feel something burn inside him. Danny was there, safe and seemingly happy, this kid who already had such an impact on him even in the few hours he had known him. His family… his family was around him. Like they hadn’t been since before he died. Maybe he could do this, maybe he could take care of this kid. At least until they could find his parents and his sister. He just hoped wherever they were, they would still let him be in Danny’s life.

______________
Clark stood there holding [Y/N], while she quietly cries, after ending the phone call with Bucky.
“I can’t believe he would do this to me,” she cries.
“He won’t,” Clark tries to reassure her, “We’ll make sure he doesn’t take her away. Okay?”
“I can’t lose her, Clark.”
“And you won’t,” Clark tells her, “Not if we beat him to the punch.”
“What do you mean?” She sniffles, pulling herself slightly back to look up at Clark.
“He hasn’t filed anything yet, so all we need to do is file before he does,” Clark explains to her, “I know a few family lawyers, they’re really good. I can make a few calls.”
[Y/N] pauses. She takes a moment to think it through.
“Are you sure that’s the only thing we can do?” [Y/N] asks.
“If we don’t want to lose Daisy, yeah I think we have to.”
“Okay,” she agrees, “then let’s do it.”
“I’ll go make those calls. Do you have any idea who Bucky’s lawyer might be?”
“I’m assuming someone from work, in family law. Bucky has a lot of connections in the law world,” [Y/N] says, as she feels her anxiety rising once again.
“Okay. Do you know who he might get?”
“No,” she shakes her head.
Daisy walks into the kitchen. Clark and [Y/N] immediately stop their conversation. Daisy glances between the both adults. She notices [Y/N]’s sullen expression.
“Is everything okay Mommy?” Daisy asks, looking straight at [Y/N], who is trying to look away and wipe her tears.
“Yeah, I just smashed my finger, but I’m all good,” she turns back around and gives Daisy a tight smile, “dinner will be ready soon.”
“Okay, can you help me finish my coloring please?” She asks [Y/N].
“Clark can help you color while I finish dinner,” she tells Daisy.
“Oh, but I wanted you to help me please,” she pleaded.
[Y/N] notices the pleading look in Daisy’s eyes. She turns to Clark, “do you mind finishing up dinner?”
“Yeah of course,” she smiles at her.
[Y/N] takes Daisy’s hand and leads her to the living room. She sat on the floor with Daisy and colored with her.
“I like when you color with me mommy,” Daisy says, smiling at her.
“Me too,” [Y/N] smiles back at her.
[Y/N] ponders over what Bucky had told her regarding Daisy. She looks over at her young daughter.
She starts to realize that she has been a bit MIA when it comes to solo quality time with Daisy.
Then when she really starts to think about it all, she never truly asked Daisy what she thinks about the whole situation with her and Clark getting married.
Before she can ask Daisy anything, Clark walks out of the kitchen.
“Dinner’s ready,” he smiles.
“Daisy, can you go wash your hands please,” [Y/N] tells her.
Daisy scurries off, as Clark and [Y/N] go set the table.
“I have a lawyer friend that can meet with us tomorrow,” he tells her, “does that work for you?”
“Yeah, it does. Thank you again,” she smiles.

___________________________
“Why aren’t you taking me to ballet?” Daisy asks [Y/N] through the mirror, while [Y/N] does her hair in a bun.
“I have a very important meeting,” she tells him, “But Grandma and Grandpa are going to take you. Isn’t that going to be fun?”
“I guess,” Daisy sighed.
“I promise when I get home, we can go get ice cream, okay?” [Y/N] tells her, hoping it would cheer her up.
She really hates that she’s going to miss Daisy’s ballet class, especially since it’s her weekend. After last night she’s been stuck with this gut feeling that she is neglecting Daisy a bit too much the last couple of months. But Clark was able to get this last minute meeting with a lawyer, so she feels obligated to go. Especially if Bucky might be threatening to get full custody of Daisy.
“Okay,” Daisy forced a smile.
Before [Y/N] could say anything else the doorbell rang.
“Grandma and Grandpa are here,” Clark called out.
“Ready?”
“Yeah,” Daisy nodded her head, and hopped down from her stool and walked out of the restroom with [Y/N] following her.
[Y/N] and Clark walk Daisy and [Y/N]’s parents out, before they all go their separate ways.
Clark and [Y/N] make their way into the heart of Manhattan. They stopped at a nice big building, and made their way up to the Prince Law offices.
The elevator doors open and they’re greeted by a slick modern looking law office.

“Hi, we’re here to see Miss Diana Prince,” Clark tells the receptionist.
She points them in the direction of Prince’s office.
As they walk in the direction, they’re immediately greeted by a young redhead outside of Diana Prince’s office.
“Clark Kent, do my eyes deceive me?” The young gorgeous redhead greeted him.
“Hello Barbara,” he smiled and greeted her with a hug, “It’s been awhile.”
“You don’t say,” she says, subtly trying to check him out.
[Y/N] notices the way Barbara checks out an oblivious Clark. She couldn’t help but feel a bit awkward. Almost like she shouldn’t be there.
[Y/N] hasn’t really met too many of Clark’s friends. Whenever she would ask about his friends, he would simply say how they’re always out of town, most of them being journalists like himself. She didn’t think too much of it, until this very moment.
“Barbara, this is my fiancé [Y/F/N]. [Y/N] this is Barbara Gordon, she’s Diana’s assistant,” Clark introduces the women.
“So you’re the lucky lady that gets to call Clark your’s,” she teases.
“I guess so,” [Y/N] says, forcing a smile, and trying not to show her discomfort.
“Let me tell Diana you guys are here,” Barbara steps away from the couple to go check on Diana.
“Isn’t she nice?” Clark asks [Y/N], his hand on around her waist. He looks down at her and smiles brightly, completely oblivious to her discomfort.
“Yeah, she seems very nice,” she forced.
“Clark Kent,” they heard a voice announce from in front of them.
[Y/N] looked to be greeted by the most gorgeous woman she’s ever seen. If Barbara made her feel some sort of way, Diana had her replaying every ounce of insecurity she’s ever felt about herself.
How the hell does Clark know all these gorgeous women, she thought.
“Diana,” Clark’s voice boomed, letting go of [Y/N] to hug the Amazonian woman.
“Thank-you so much for seeing us on such short notice,” he says as they pull apart.
“Anything for an old friend,” she smiled, and turned her head towards [Y/N], “and you must be the future Mrs. Clark Kent.”
“Hi Miss Prince, I’m [Y/F/N],” [Y/N] awkwardly holds out her hand.
“Please call me Diana,” she smiles, shaking [Y/N]’s hand, “Come on in you two.”
They walk into the sleek, all white office, with windows lining up the wall behind Diana’s office.
Clark pulls out the chair for [Y/N] to sit across from Diana’s desk.
“I see you’re still ever just the gentleman,” Diana comments, which causes Clark to blush.
[Y/N] catches the way Diana causes Clark to blush.
Diana sits at her desk, with her laptop open. Barbara grabs a seat next to Diana, with a notepad and pen.
“Do you guys need anything? Water? Coffee? Tea?” Barbara asks them.
“No, we’re good,” [Y/N] says, just wanting to jump into everything.
“Okay, perfect. Let’s begin,” Diana smiled at [Y/N].
[Y/N] could tell Diana was trying her best to be comforting, but she couldn’t help but feel slightly uncomfortable.
“So Clark mentioned that your ex is planning on suing for custody?” Diana says.
“He’s not my ex,” [Y/N] clarifies.
“Oh, okay,” Diana says, Barbara jots something down.
“He’s one of my best friends,” [Y/N] explains, “we have known each other since high school. We slept together once, and Daisy was the result of that.”
“Okay. How old is your daughter?”
“She just turned four on January 1st.”
“Ah a New Year’s baby. How cute,” Diana smiles.
“So, you and,” Diana pauses for a name.
“James Barnes,” [Y/N] tells her.
Barbara and Diana pause at the mention of Bucky’s name.
“James Barnes?” Barbara asks.
“Yes,” [Y/N] nods her head.
“As in James Buchanan Barnes? From Stark and Rhodes?” Diana asks.
“Yeah,” [Y/N] says, not getting the hesitation between the women.
“Is there a problem?” Clark asks.
“No, of course not,” Diana shakes her head, “This just probably won’t be as simple as we thought.”
“Why is that?”
“Well not only is James Barnes one of the best lawyers in the state. Stark and Rhodes’ family law attorneys are some of the best,” Barbara says, “assuming that’s who’s going to represent him.”
“No worries though,” Diana reassures them, “We are just as good as they are. And we’ll do everything in our power to make sure you don’t lose custody.”
“Now do you know who Bucky got to represent him?” Diana asks.
“No, I’m just assuming it’s one of his co-workers,”  [Y/N] says.
“Okay. Perfect. So just ase on our experience and what we know about Stark and Rhodes, their top family law attorneys are Pepper Potts, Loki Odinson-Maximoff,”
“You can probably scratch Loki off that list,” [Y/N] says, cutting Diana off.
“Why is that?” Diana asks.
“Loki is part of our friend group. He’s one of our best friends, practically family. We’ve all known each other since college,” [Y/N] informs her.
“You don’t think Loki would help James out?” Diana asks, not convinced.
“I don’t see our friends really getting in the middle of it,” [Y/N] says, “Well maybe one of our friends. She also works at Stark and Rhodes. Natasha Romanoff.”
“Natasha Romanoff?” Diana asks.
“Yeah, she’s been very vocal about her dislike of our engagement,” [Y/N] says, pointing to herself and Clark, “we haven’t spoken since New Year’s day.”
“Okay,” Diana nods, making a note of that on her laptop, “Natasha is more of a criminal defense lawyer, but do you think she’d be willing to help Bucky?”
“I wouldn’t put it past her.”
“Okay then,” Diana nods, “we’ll make some calls and figure out who is representing him.”
“So [Y/N], what exactly do you want from this custody arrangement?” Diana asks.
“Honestly, I like the way things are between us. One week on, one week off. Every other year for holidays,” she tells Diana.
“Well don’t you guys typically spend the holidays together?” Clark carefully intervenes.
“What do you mean?” [Y/N] asks him.
“I mean you told me that in the past you and James normally spend Christmas Eve and morning together with each other’s families,” he says.
“Oh well, yeah,” she turns back to Diana, “Daisy is the only grandchild on both sides, so neither group of grandparents want to miss out. Plus Daisy loves having both James and I together during Christmas. So yeah James and I spend Christmas Eve and day together, swapping between our families.”
“And you want to keep it like that?” Diana asks.
“It is nice that we both don’t have to miss out on the holidays,” she says, then turns to Clark, “Is that a problem?”
“No, of course not,” Clark shakes his head, “but what about when we go visit my mom for the holidays? Is James going to come around for that as well?”
“Oh, I didn’t really think of that,” she says, “I always forget that not everyone grew up here. But, um no, I suppose James won’t but we can just visit your mom on the years I don’t have Daisy.”
“Okay,” he nods his head, wanting to say more but he stops himself. Figuring this isn’t a conversation to have in front of Diana and Barbara.
[Y/N] could tell Clark wanted to say more, but decided not to push him on it. At least not until they were in private.
“Okay,” Diana clears her throat, sensing the tension, “so we can do the normal 50/50 child custody agreement. One week on, one week off. Holidays and birthdays every other year. You both have joint custody in regards to her education and medical needs. I can draft up a custody agreement proposal for you and you can tell me what you like slash don’t like. What you want added, etcetera. How does that sound?”
“Perfect,” [Y/N] nods her head, giving Diana a tight lip smile.
“Perfect,” Diana repeats, “I can have this emailed to you ASAP, so we can get this sent over to Bucky’s lawyer, once we find out who it is.”
“Thank-you so much Diana,” [Y/N] thanks her.
“No worries,” Diana says, getting up from her chair, the rest of the room follows suit, “I’m just glad to help.”
Diana and Barbara walk Clark and [Y/N] to the elevator doors, bidding them a goodbye.
“Do you think she knows that Clark,” Barbara begins.
“Used to be a massive playboy?” Diana finishes for her, “And that he’s had relations with the both of us? Doubt it.”
They begin to walk back to their office. Diana pauses.
“But Barbara, it isn't our place to tell her. That was over a year ago,” Diana tells her, “so let’s please keep this professional. She seems like a lovely lady, and Clark clearly adores her. It’s very reminiscent of how he was with Lois.”
“Before she walked out and left him with just a note,” Barbara says.
“Again, it isn’t our business,” Diana tells her, opening up her office door, “let’s just help her not lose custody of her daughter.”
“You know this isn’t going to be easy right? Especially if he has Natasha Romanoff helping him,” Barbara states.
“Oh I know,” Diana sighs, “but this can be our moment to prove that we can beat Natasha Romanoff.”

Subject: Regarding [Y/F/N]’s potential custody battle with James Buchanan Barnes
Good Afternoon Mrs. Romanoff,
Hopefully I’m not catching you at a bad time. I am writing you this afternoon to inquire about a possible custody case you might be a part of.
Today I had a meeting with [Y/F/N] and her fiancé Clark Kent, regarding some concerns with her custody agreement with a James Buchanan Barnes. It seems that James contacted [Y/N] yesterday in regards to their custody agreement, and wanting to potentially take full custody of their daughter Daisy Barnes. [Y/N] mentioned that he might already have a lawyer, and I’m just trying to figure out who that lawyer might be. Your name was brought up as a contender for that. You and I both know that you’re not a family law attorney, but seeing as there is a lot of history between you three, I thought I might email you and ask, if you are representing James Barnes in this custody battle.
If you can please respond as soon as you can, it will be a great help with us so we can get this custody agreement going in the right direction. Would hate for their child to suffer a horrible custody battle.
Best Regards,
Diana Prince.

Summary: Barbara reflects on what she is and who Diana is (to her).
*** It’s only human to have someone to look up to, and it’s only natural when she reminds you of everything that you’re not.
