The joys of stabbing as a Blade aside, I think, thematically, the College of Valour would probably work pretty well for Bard Durge: the only holy day the religion observes basically involves telling the tales of brutal battles, murders and assassinations to honour the prowess of deceased Bhaalists, so it's kind of up their alley.

College of Valour: "You wander the land to witness and relate the deeds of the mighty, keeping alive the memory of heroes of the past and inspiring heroes of the future."

Durge translation, as per the Bhaalist calendar: "[Bhaalists celebrate] especially important or impressive slayings by retelling ["gory"] stories of these deeds."

You ask Bard Durge for a story: you get an overly detailed and poetic retelling of blood, gore and murder. (No, they don't know why these are the only stories they know either.)

But the deathbringers and lay worshippers all loved their performances!

Preparing for a d&d game im running for my coworkers tomorrow (which by itself is very fucking cool), but i'm running into trouble because the characters are like:

A monk turned assassin. She was taken in by a thieves guild after trying to steal from the leader, and has trained under him for the last 6 years. Her previous life prevents her from bringing harm to others, but she's about to be assigned her first mark. She owes the guild an outrageous amount and needs to set out to earn it in order to buy her freedom from the guild.

A bugbear fighter who once pillaged villages with his twin brother until a group of bounty hunters came after them. He was separated from his brother, but was taken in by a kindly shipwright, who taught him to build his own vessel. Now he's setting out on his own, looking for freedom on the ocean, and perhaps there's a strange connection with the moon?

A sorcerer who gets expelled from his academy for refusing to assist his corrupt proffessor with her human experiments.

Been watching random Alan Alda movies since I've been snowed in the last couple of days. Watched "The Glass House" yesterday and "Kill Me If You Can" tonight. I'm going to need something more lighthearted next time because those were both so bleak and dread inducing jesus christ

OH my MCs? Sure of course!!!! I don't have screenshots of them right now but here's their information;

1 - Bronwen Hecate Everwinter / High Elf / Sorcerer [silver dragonic ancestry] / Sage background

She's focused on offence from the back of the group, especially picking off enemies that threaten the front-liner of the group, Karlach.

2 - Lune Temperance / Mephistopheles Tiefling / Bard / Urchin background

Support-focused college of valour. Namely heals allies while doing extra dmg to enemies. She has "dissonant whispers" which is an awesome spell for dmg and frightening enemies.

3 - Wisteria A'Dararn / Seladrine Drow / Cleric of Eilistraee / Acolyte background

This is my game I'm playing with my dad! I'm controlling my healer girl here, as well as Astarion, our designated best boy rogue. He's playing a githyanki sorcerer and controlling Karlach, our one non-squishy lol

3 - Quinn Ze'lah / Githyanki / Ranger / Outlander background

I made this file because after seeing how characters reacted to Lae'zel I was desperate to see how they'd react to a githyanki player. I have not been disappointed XD

4 - Hel Kleio Doavae / Half-Drow / Rogue / Criminal background

World is not super reactive to a half-drow but tbh, I love my loser anyway. She is a canonical menace to society <33333

I have some more plans because, genuinely, I love this game and how responsive it is to the player and their choices even just in character creation so much I may be here for the rest of my days.

I also have Lolth-sworn drow planned to see how that goes, and my own dark urge character [a tiefling named Mercy] planned for later. I'm loving it all so much!!!!

Something I'm really fascinated by is the theological implications of techbros actually trying to design an intelligence higher than our own. just a positively unimaginable jump in thought and experience emerging from some divine cracks in our artistry of Circuit Technology and Software. No matter how hard we try we're trying to force a miracle.

If Humans can create a new form of existence that exceeds our own then we have become more significant than any god we could have worshipped because we will see recorded proof of our ability to create beings higher than humans, whose form is now that of a god. Beings who do not solely exist in recollections locked in human thought, but now create new existence.

This is a horrible time in history for humankind to attempt to crack divinity into our world lmfao. Utterly psychotic to see so many techbros trying to brute force something into our reality that doesnt even make sense and would invariably shatter our concept of a god that could possess enough authority to save us from ourselves. We would feel more alone than ever before, trapped by the reality of a world that can design itself into obsolesence. Ridiculous behavior, fun to think about tho.
