You are going to have more in common with trans people who have a similar gender identity to you than you think. Trans people are reliable narrators of their own experiences, and whether you like it or not, we will have similar or even identical experiences to yours. Cis people don't have a monopoly over their gender or the experiences people have as a result of their gender.

Is it cringe to still be hung up on the casting of a high school theatre production when it's been almost seven years? Yes. However, I am pretty sure it was bc of transphobia and the role was only really considered for a couple of guys who were in show choir and never did another show the four years we went to that school so yeah I'd say that stuck with me.

#personal #for reference my choir director and drama instructor (same guy) said that the reason i could only audition as an alto for show choir- #-was bc i would never have a 'male voice' #i was pre-t but could sing most baritone parts #literally everyone was like 'why is tristan auditioning to be an alto. they show be a tenor or baritone' #and instead had an obvious tenor strain to sing the bari parts #getting older is looking back on your high school theatre department and realizing your director wasn't the supportive mentor you needed

oh fuck me apparently one conversation in march 2008 permanently altered my brain chemistry i guess. i just realized my recurring thought that makes no actual sense that “i’m gay for [anything related to bass instruments]” is just the new “contrabass clarinets are sexy.” motherfucker. approximately one person here might recognize that phrase but whatever i’m back on tumblr you get my vague void-yelling.

i have become acutely aware of the fact that in a bit over a month i will travel to italy to excavate for two weeks and so i've been looking flights and buses and everything and of course there's been complications, especially in the return flight. it seems i will have to stay a full day in bari and i will return home on the day of my sister's birthday. lol.

#what do i even do in bari for a day #and it isn't a full day i would arrive there by bus at 13:05 #i know you don't care but basically #the excavation campaign is until friday 27th #they said i could sleep in the accomodations that day and take the first bus back to bari airport (the closest one) on the 28th #the thing is. the first bus gets at bari airport at 13:05. my latest possible flight to madrid is at 13:55 #my parents are convinced i won't make the flight #so i have to look for an alternative even if i personally believe i would've made it but whatever #i looked at flights to other parts of spain #the only two cities that have flights to spain from bari later than 13:00 are valencia and barcelona #but. i would arrive at 21:55 / 22:30 respectively and there's no train or plane at that time that would get me to madrid #so efectivelly i would have to either sleep in bari or in valencia / barcelona #there's a flight from bari to madrid on the 29th (my sister's birthday) at 7:15 am #i would be back home at 12:35 #so evidently. i will have to stay the night in bari #that will be a fun adventure who knows what'll happen #but yeah. that's the only possible solution to this i've found #also flights on the 29th are cheaper than on the 28th so that's lovely

Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman of the Jamaat-e-Islami party had been named the victor of the provincial assembly seat PS-129 in the city of Karachi.

But this week he claimed the candidate backed by Imran Khan's PTI party had secured far more votes and that their tally had been reduced.

As such he would relinquish the seat.

"If anyone wants to make us win in an illegitimate manner, we will not be accepting that," Mr Rehman said at a press conference held by his party on Monday.

He added: "Public opinion should be respected, let the winner win, let the loser lose, no one should get anything extra."

He said that while he had received more than 26,000 votes, the independent candidate Saif Bari, backed by the PTI, had received 31,000 votes - but these were presented as 11,000 votes.

Pakistani electoral authorities have denied the allegations. It is unclear who will take up the PS-129 seat now.
