Ptolemy&Nat+Bart
Ptolemy and Nat give me the impression of the sun and the moon, warm and cold colors. The colors of their skin and costumes also contrast with each other.
They are polar opposites. But they are both stubborn and make the same choice in the end. They seem to be opposites, but they are surprisingly similar. I like this contrast between them.
Something about magicians in Bartimaeus Sequence erasing their own names for self protection is so Tasty. In order to perpetuate that violence, to treat demons (and commoners) as less than human, they must first symbolically make themselves unperson. So many cultures practiced damnatio memoriae as one of the worst punishments and they did it to themselves. If you are alive as long as your name is spoken they are dead long before they die.
Bartimaeus: yeah I can't stand humans or being summoned ideally I'd just be floating in the undifferentiated ether. The fact I immediately show sympathy and interest in humans who aren't magicians and clearly love conversation and talking, two things that cannot happen in an undifferentiated ether, are irrelevant.
Here's a project I've been working on for a year and a half. It took me a lot longer than I expected and the process of actually animating anything was just 40% of the time I spent on this.
Really hope you like it! Comments and reshares are appreciated!
When I told my friend “good luck” when they’re starting a book, I don’t mean “good luck with your reading! I hope you’ll like it 🥰♥️🌈” what I mean is “Oh boy, you’re in for a ride… you’ll need that luck🫣”
