SCENE FROM CHAPTER 6 OF A TALE OF SPIRITS by @unorthodoxx-page.
Check out the fic cause I promise it’s worth your time, my first impressions of it were like “wtf how is this so good?!”
took some time given I’m preparing for college at the moment and way underestimated how my almost 2 year art break affected my digital skills but now that I’m back I’m just PUMPED to get back into it. Might do some other scenes in the future who knows (send recs and I might just be tempted to do other scenes and fics).
Beware they may be simpler than this tho cause wtf even is coloring and backgrounds? Give me my pure sketchy goodness
(segue into my messy sketch. idk man I just like seeing artists being messy and not giving a fuck about ‘clean’ art)

Hahn and Sokka are in an unhappy marriage until one day Hahn pressured Sokka into opening their marriage. (Sokka agreed after Hahn kept pestering and guilting him.) Hahn instant starts dating someone from his work office, causing Sokka to spiral with emotions. Finally he figured he’d put himself out there too, only too end up unknowingly dating/hooking up Hahn’s Boss, Zuko.

May I offer anyone a single dads zukka au?
(This ended up getting a little longer than I thought, so I’ll go ahead a put it under the cut!) ⬇️
Every morning Sokka and Senna go to the park together before breakfast! One morning Zuko and Izumi come and they meet, so obviously Senna and Izumi become best friends!! They love playing together, and have an instant connection and never wanna leave (as most little kids do).
Sokka and Zuko end up sitting on a Bench to talk while their kids play, and have a bit of a connection of their own…but of course they’re super awkward about the whole thing and would never dream of saying anything to the other about it.
Senna and Izumi ask to see each other again, so from that morning on, Zuko and Izumi come to the park at the same time each day to meet for a little play date! Then it becomes a consistent cycle: senna and Izumi play, Sokka and Zuko sit on the bench and have awkward small talk, then they leave with the promise to see each other the following day.
Until one morning, when Sokka and Senna come to the park only to find that Senna’s little friend isn’t there. Senna’s super sad (only senna, of course *only* senna definitely not sokka too) so Sokka lets her stick around a little while to wait for her. Some time passed, and Sokka decides to call it in and tell her that it’s time for them to head home for breakfast, and promises her she’ll see Izumi the next day.
Just as they’re heading out Zuko and Izumi pull up, and Izumi practically jumps out of the car to run and give Senna a huge hug. Zuko apologizes and says that they had a late start that morning, Sokka apologizes as well and tells him they were just about to head back for breakfast. The girls both look heart broken that they have to say goodbye so soon, and Sokka isn’t exactly the happiest either. So he decided to take a risk and ask Zuko if they’d like to join them for breakfast. The girls break out in cheers and Izumi beeeegs Zuko to say yes. So, of course, he says that they would love to…
Only for Izumi…
Anyway, blah blah pinning pinning fall in love, the end <3

22 for mailee zukka or sokka & katara!!!
jupiter!! hello!! this is. about half as long as it would have to be if i wanted to fully capture the feeling of this song. but hopefully it's still alright since it's already uhhh kinda long
22. sincerely me - artist vs. poet + mailee
and i wish that you could see oh, what you do to me and i hope this letter covers everything i'm yours, sincerely me
word count: 1927
Mai,
Kyoshi Island is warm this time of year, but it’s still nothing compared to Caldera City. I think you’d like it here in spring, actually. All of the flowers are blooming and the snow is melting and it’s really very beautiful. One of the other warriors taught me how to press flowers, so I’ve included some with this letter. I don’t know the meanings like you do; I just picked ones I thought looked prettiest.
A group of us are leaving for Gaoling in a few days. We’ve been trying to go on more recruitment missions, because Suki wants to create different chapters of the Kyoshi Warriors - that way we aren’t limited to helping Kyoshi Island. She has big dreams, but she’s got enough determination that I don’t doubt they’re possible to achieve.
Sokka, Katara, and Aang stopped by the island for a visit last week. It was nice to see them again even if I don’t know them very well. But seeing them reunite with Suki made me miss you even more. You should come visit when you get a chance! You can even bring Zuko if he can afford a break. I’d love to see you again!!
How is Zuko, by the way? You didn’t mention him in your last letter. Are you two still doing alright? Or do I need to catch the first boat to Caldera and kick his ass for you? Because I will.
Okay, I have to go - Tuq is calling me. I look forward to your next letter, and I’ll write again once I’ve returned from Gaoling!
Yours always,
Ty Lee
— —
Ty Lee,
Zuko is fine, but Zuko and I aren’t great. There’s too much stress with him being Fire Lord, I think. And we’re both realizing some things that make a relationship a little complicated. It’s nothing you need to worry about, though, I promise! We’re talking through it, so no need to beat Zuko up.
Besides, I’ll do it myself if I need to.
I love the flowers; they really are quite pretty. The pink ones are plum blossoms. Those mean “resilience” and “perseverance”. The yellow ones are daffodils, which mena “respect”. And the white ones are Tsutsuji, or azaleas. The white ones specifically mean either “modesty” or “first love”. It was a nice collection, you chose well.
Kyoshi Island does sound beautiful. I’m not sure when or if I’ll be able to visit, but maybe someday. Or I guess maybe if I need some distance from Zuko. I don’t know. We’ll see what happens.
I hope you enjoyed your trip to Gaoling! Zuko says Toph is from there. They didn’t like it much, but I believe that has to do with the circumstances of their upbringing. I’m sure it’s a fine place to visit. Suki’s idea about different Kyoshi Warrior chapters sounds helpful as well. Maybe you could come recruit in Caldera City sometime.
I miss you too. I hope we can see each other again soon.
Sincerely,
Mai
— —
Mai,
Gaoling was incredible! It’s so SO cool getting to travel around the Earth Kingdom and being able to really appreciate the cultures. I’ve learned a lot since I came to Kyoshi Island and we started going out on recruitment trips.
Although I do agree: A trip to Caldera would be nice. I’d love any excuse to see you! I know we’re both busy, though.
I’m sorry to hear about the complications between you and Zuko. And I know you can kick his ass yourself, but my offer still stands if you should need it. Or, like you said, you can come visit me here to get some distance from everything.
It’s hard to believe it’s nearing a year since the end of the war and me moving to Kyoshi Island. It’s still weird not having you close by, but it’s nice we can at least write letters. It doesn’t replace seeing you face-to-face, but it helps.
Spring is making me miss you more, I think. Remember when we would try to catch falling cherry blossoms, just the two of us in your backyard? I miss being that young and carefree. I miss seeing you like that. It was the one time you would let your guard down and allow yourself to smile.
I don’t think I ever told you, but you really do have the prettiest smile.
If I can ever convince Suki to take a Kyoshi Warrior trip to the Fire Nation, I’ll be sure to let you know. But until then, I’ll miss you and I’ll keep writing.
Yours always,
Ty Lee
— —
Ty Lee,
Sorry for the long break in letters. I’ve read all three you sent, but I was having trouble writing a response. Zuko and I have officially ended things. I moved out of the palace. I’m living with Aunt Mura now and working full time in the flower shop. My mom keeps trying to convince me to move home and I’m running out of ways to politely decline the offer.
I’m sorry this letter is no good. I don’t have much else to say.
I hope I’ll see you soon. I miss you.
Sincerely,
Mai
— —
Mai,
There’s no need to apologize! I’ll treasure any letter you send regardless of how long or short it is. It’s as close as I can get to having you with me.
I’m sorry to hear about you and Zuko. :( I know I’m far away, but let me know if there’s anything I can do!
I will say, I’m glad you moved in with your aunt instead of your parents. I know you don’t want to be too mean to your mom, but you’ll be much better off staying with Mura. Hopefully your mom will back off soon and understand that you don’t want to live with her anymore without you having to tell her it isn’t good for your mental health.
I hope you’re enjoying working at the flower shop! I know you always really liked that place. I used to think it was so unlike you to be happy helping out there, but I understand better now. It’s fitting, I think. You remind me of flowers sometimes; flowers don’t always recognize their beauty and worth either. But remember that you are always worthy of love and happiness.
I hope it doesn’t sound like I’m trying to guilt you with how much I say this, but I miss you. I don’t think I’ll ever stop missing you. A summer thunderstorm rolled through last night, and I thought of us hiding under the blankets in my bedroom. I was way more scared than you were, but you hid with me anyways. I really appreciate that. I’m not scared of thunder anymore, but I wouldn’t say no to building another blanket fort hideout.
The summer sun here is hot, but the heat of Caldera was worse. Take care of yourself. Remember to drink water and don’t stay out in the sun for too long without anything to shade you.
Yours always,
Ty Lee
— —
Ty Lee,
I miss you too, no guilt intended.
Mura and Zuko both say I should visit you. Would that be okay? You asked if there was anything you could do to help, and all I could think was that I really miss your hugs.
Sincerely,
Mai
— —
Mai,
PLEASE come visit!!! I will give you as many hugs as you want!!!!!!!
Yours always,
Ty Lee
PS: Wait, you’re still talking to Zuko? Also you don’t have to wait for another response from me before you leave Caldera. Just come. I’ll tell Suki to expect you soon. Unless you don’t want to come, in which case, you’re free to stay! But I really really would love for you to visit.
— —
Ty Lee,
Yes, Zuko and I still talk. It’s complicated.
Next week is the last week of summer, and there’s usually a rush in the shop that week, so I’ll leave at the start of the following week.
See you soon!
Yours,
Mai
— —
“This is so much better than the letters,” Ty Lee whispers, burying her face in Mai’s shoulder. She’s clinging to Mai like her life depends on it, but Mai doesn’t mind because she’s doing the same in return. And Ty Lee is right; this is far better than the letters they’ve exchanged in the past year. Mai has kept each one, safe in a box on a shelf in her room where she can reread them whenever she’s missing Ty Lee more than usual.
But Ty Lee in person is a million times better than ink and paper and even the pressed flowers.
“I missed you,” Mai says, as if that hasn’t been stated in every letter sent between them. But it’s important, and it means more than just those three words. It means I’m glad to see you again and Times may change but our friendship remains and I’m home.
It expresses the love that the two of them spent so long pushing down and ignoring, because how could they be together in a world that would lock them up for their feelings?
“I missed you too.”
The hug breaks, but Ty Lee doesn’t let go of Mai’s arms, and Mai doesn’t want her to. Mai wants her to hold on forever, never wants to be apart from her again. She wants to throw caution to the wind and beg to stay.
But she doesn’t. Not yet.
She takes a deep breath, inhaling the clean Kyoshi Island air, tinged with the first chilled breezes of autumn. She looks around to assure no one else has come outside to check on them. She never figured out, exactly, what to say now. But she knows she needs to say something.
Zuko had convinced her, actually. Mai, I know you. You won’t do this without a push, so I’m pushing you. Go to Kyoshi Island. Tell Ty Lee how you feel. I’m almost certain she feels the same.
And once Zuko had pointed out the signs, Mai couldn’t stop seeing them either. It was written between each line in every letter Ty Lee sent her. It was in the pressed flowers and the neat creases in the paper. It was in the space between every single letter.
I LOVE YOU.
“Ty Lee,” Mai whispers. She leans in slightly on instinct, desperate to be closer. They’ve been so far apart for so long and even though Ty Lee’s hands remain firmly wrapped around her arms, Mai can hardly stand the space still lingering between them. She wants to melt into Ty Lee’s body so they can never be separated again.
“Please stay,” Ty Lee says. One hand drops Mai’s arm to cup her cheek instead. “I don’t think I can bear to say goodbye again. I know I told you I didn’t want to guilt you into coming here, and I didn’t, but— I couldn’t say everything in the letters. Some things need to be said in person.”
“You did say it,” Mai assures her. “And I think I’ve always felt the same. That’s why Zuko and I never could have worked. I always— It was always you. I’ve always been yours.”
Ty Lee smiles. “Your letters said it too. I was worried I was reading them wrong.”
Mai shakes her head. “You should know no one knows me as well as you do.”
“Mai—” Ty Lee starts, then stops abruptly. Instead of saying anymore, she lifts herself onto her tiptoes, angling Mai’s face downward.
Mai takes her cue and closes the distance between them.

Been thinking recently about the idea in fandom that boils down to, usually, "the Character that Changes the most being deemed 'the most complex'" and that character development (i.e. character change) being held up as The Golden Standard of a Good Character and...
I fundamentally disagree, but first, a little bit more explanation about what I mean
Very often shows and movies, when being recommended on tumblr, are sold on the basis of having enjoyable/in-depth characters. Often times this also means conflating enjoyable with likeable, but that's a discussion post for another day. And even more often, it means there are characters who are seen as Deep because of how radically they change over the course of a story.
Lots of times, this falls into two camps:
Characters change radically, but early on in the story, and remain largely the same past that point of change (think anytime in a first season) until the end of the story
People recommending shows based on characters having traditional redemption arcs (enemy or bully to friend / good guy / love interest)
Now, I'm not saying that 1) character change can't be deep or 2) that character growth is bad. Neither of those things are true, even subjectively. What I am saying is that 1) character change / a character changing is not the same as automatically being a good, interesting, or well written character and 2) character growth is not the be-all-end-all of character writing. Yes, there can be problems with characters be overly stagnant, but typically that's only an issue if 1) a work is serialized and concerned with character development and they don't change at all, 2) a character never adjusts (rightly or wrongly) according to their mistakes, or 3) all of the above but they're a main character.
However, assuming that Character A has to be radically different at the beginning of a story in terms of their personality/values/etc. as they are at the end of the story is just... not how it works, necessarily. This is, I think, one of the reasons why antagonists who get redemption arcs tend to be more popular than heroes who had good values the whole time, because there's more opportunity to point and go "look, they've changed! they act on and have basic compassion now!" Which, fair enough, but again: other types of characters are fine too.
Particularly for characters fandom tends to have the hardest time with: paragons.
Paragons are characters who are usually the central hero, pretty morally if not entirely moral upstanding, and because they already start out in a place of "always doing the right thing," they rarely radically change by the end of the story. Instead, paragons are used to progress theme/messaging and inspire other characters around them to change (a good example might be Buddy from the Christmas movie Elf and to a lesser extent - as he's more transformative as a character - Aang from Avatar: The Last Airbender, who's there to return childhood to his friends as an ideal and carry on Air Nomad values).
And for TDP, that's Ezran.
He's the youngest in the main cast and by far the most measured. While Callum and Rayla are off fighting, he keeps a level head. He assumes responsiblity largely without guilt, holds other people accountable most often without being cruel, he's kind and deeply compassionate, he shows regular empathy for his enemies even when he has to treat them like enemies, he loves his father but does not idealize him, he is king without craving power, he's trusting and honest and while he has his flaws (overly optimistic, his passivity, sometimes struggles to consider other people's emotions, naivety, etc), they - as of yet - are not overly connected to his sense of morality (which is a distinct difference compared to the rest of the main cast).
Now, TDP is less concerned with the theme of Childhood compared to something like ATLA, but Ezran being a child (again, in a way the rest of the cast is not) is also very important. Ezran, and Callum to a lesser extent, is the embodiment of the concept that children aren't born with hatred in their hearts; it's learned, or earned, through experience, society, and suffering. And as Ezran spells out for us in 4x03, he has suffered and been hurt - and he believes in breaking the cycle and believing in hope for a better future anyway.
Ezran's steadfast reflection of the series' core theme of "true strength - to break the cycle - is found in vulnerability, in forgiveness, in love" in both word and action does make him the closest thing to a paragon in the series. He's the one who finds the egg; he's the one who forgives Rayla and Soren; he's the one who still tries to help Claudia; he's the peacemaker, the literal bridge between peoples and species in spite of witnessing so many of their worst crimes/actions.
In both arcs, there tended to be a trio of characters who rapidly change, and a trio of characters who are more, comparatively, stagnated. Early S1 Rayla, Callum, and Soren are radically different in a ton of ways than they are even at the beginning of S3, but especially by the end. On the other hand, Viren - post 1x03 at least - Claudia and Ezran are far more consistent in arc 1; their circumstances change, but their viewpoints and realities and choices are largely the same from season to season - they just keep doubling down. This doesn't mean they don't change at all, but they don't radically transform - they just become more of what they already are.
I'd say that in arc 2, things have switched up, with Callum, Rayla, and Viren being the three who are radically transformed (thus far) with Soren, Claudia, and Ezran still being in the more stagnated corner. (For more notes on Claudia and Ezran's shared passivity, check out this pre-S4 meta.)
Ezran starts out the series as a good hearted, slightly mischevious little boy who loves his family and believes that people can be good. The point of the series is not to change these parts of him. It's to demonstrate the difficulties - losing both his parents, taking on the kingship, struggling to make the right choices, keeping his friends together, caring about peace and sentiment in a world that increasingly does not - of maintaining those positive traits, again, in a world that is determined to test those ideals and attributes.
Ezran is not here to be transformed by the storm, the same way his friends and some of his companions are. He is here to demonstrate the strength and necessity in weathering the storm so that the world cannot make you cold, or uncaring, or violent, even when those paths and emotions would be much easier to go down.
Tumblr media
Good character development isn't about changing your character; it's about changing your audience's understanding and perspective of your character. Sometimes that means the character is also changing simultaneously, but that's far from a requirement for a character to be interesting. Like most things in writing, what it really boils down to is execution.
And I could go on about why I think people gravitate towards characters who start off evil (often part of imperialist empires or older, institutionally backed systems) and learn that the evil was wrong actually (and sometimes not even that) but that's a meta for another day, and this one is long enough.
TLDR; Ezran, like a few other characters in the show - antagonists and protagonists alike - is not meant to be a radically transformative, even though he very much has grown and changed. Instead, he's meant to exemplify the importance of not losing your sense of self in an increasingly cruel or difficult world, and what parts we should arguably try our best to hold onto as well.

Hi, I love your work and was wondering if you've done a post breaking down Earth Kingdom clothing inspiration and what the pieces are called. I'm writing a fanfiction and having a hard time finding info. Thanks!
The thing about the Earth Kingdom is that it's the most populated and diverse of the four nations in-universe. Meaning that each area of the Earth Kingdom has its own unique flavor. Some places are based off of specific Chinese dynasties, others around the various ethnic minorities of China, and some are other Asian cultures entirely.
Tumblr media
Ba Sing Se's aesthetic is based off of the later years of China's Qing Dynasty (1636-1912):
The Cultures of Avatar: The Last Airbender | Cultural Fashion: Ba Sing Se Queues (tumblr.com)
The Cultures of Avatar: The Last Airbender | Cultural Fashion: Zuko's Teashop Outfit (tumblr.com)
The Cultures of Avatar: The Last Airbender | Cultural Fashion: Ba Sing Se Headdresses (tumblr.com)
The Cultures of Avatar: The Last Airbender | Cultural Fashion: The Dai Li (tumblr.com)
The Cultures of Avatar: The Last Airbender | Cultural Fashion: Royal Earthbender Guards (tumblr.com)
Toph's family and background are meant to appear refined and wealthy so their look is based off of the later years of China's opulent Tang Dynasty (618-907):
The Cultures of Avatar: The Last Airbender | Cultural Fashion: Toph’s Fancy Dress (tumblr.com)
The Cultures of Avatar: The Last Airbender | Cultural Fashion: Toph’s Sleepwear (tumblr.com)
The Cultures of Avatar: The Last Airbender | Cultural Fashion: Toph’s Hairstyle (tumblr.com)
Bumi likes to wear Chinese opera clothing and his character is broadly inspired by Lu Bu of the Three Kingdoms Period (220-280):
The Cultures of Avatar: The Last Airbender | Cultural Fashion: Bumi (tumblr.com)
Kyoshi Island is Heian & Edo period Japan mixed with Ainu culture:
The Cultures of Avatar: The Last Airbender | Cultural Fashion: Kyoshi Headbands (tumblr.com)
The Cultures of Avatar: The Last Airbender | Cultural Fashion: Kyoshi Makeup (tumblr.com)
The Cultures of Avatar: The Last Airbender | Cultural Fashion: Kyoshi’s Hair & Clothes (tumblr.com)
The Cultures of Avatar: The Last Airbender | Cultural Fashion: Kyoshi Warriors Uniform (tumblr.com)
The Cultures of Avatar: The Last Airbender | Cultural Fashion: Kyoshi Islanders Fashion Pt. 1 -... (tumblr.com)
The Cultures of Avatar: The Last Airbender | Cultural Fashion: Kyoshi Islanders Fashion Pt. 2 -... (tumblr.com)
When Zuko and Iroh are on the run in the EK, they encounter a Vietnamese town and a Korean village:
The Cultures of Avatar: The Last Airbender | Cultural Anatomy: “The Swamp” Episode (tumblr.com)
The Cultures of Avatar: The Last Airbender | Cultural Architecture: Song’s Village (tumblr.com)
The tribes of the Si Wong Desert are North African crossed with Mongolian:
The Cultures of Avatar: The Last Airbender | Cultural Fashion: Sandbenders (tumblr.com)
Chong and Lily (Secret Tunnel Hippies) wear Tibetan and Hmong clothing, respectively:
The Cultures of Avatar: The Last Airbender | Cultural Fashion: Chong (tumblr.com)
The Cultures of Avatar: The Last Airbender | Cultural Fashion: Lily (tumblr.com)
The refugee family with the pregnant wife is inspired by Yi people:
The Cultures of Avatar: The Last Airbender | Cultural Fashion: Serpent’s Pass Refugees Pt. 1 (tumblr.com)
The Cultures of Avatar: The Last Airbender | Cultural Fashion: Serpent’s Pass Refugees Pt. 2 (tumblr.com)
And, with the exception of culturally isolated areas like Ba Sing Se/Si Wong Desert/Omashu/Kyoshi/Foggy Swamp, most men in the EK wear their hair in Taoist topknots:
The Cultures of Avatar: The Last Airbender | Cultural Fashion: Earth Kingdom Top Knots (tumblr.com)
So the sort of clothing your characters will be wearing in the EK depends on where in the country they are or are from. If you plan on inventing a new setting that takes place in the Earth Kingdom, try to choose a culture and period that reflects the mood or theme you're trying to get across.

𝐬♡𝐟𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐬 🧁🎀
˳ ⊹. pairings: gojo satoru x reader (modern-ish au)
˳ ⊹. authors note: this is inspired by miekasa’s post. i’ve been postponing this forever idk why i just haven’t felt like writing. i started this september 11th?!?!? idk what took me so long it’s not even a long story, but anyways hope you like!! no warnings just fluff bbys!! last parts a bit smutty 🤍
Tumblr media
position 1. the spoon: person a and b are sleeping on their sides while person a has their back against person b’s chest.
when they lights go out in your shared bedroom you always feel the warmth of gojo’s hands tracing your stomach. he draws light hearts and circles around your belly button before wrapping his arms around your waist with a tighter squeeze.
he moves the small strands away from your neck before placing warm goodnight kisses that trail down the base of your neck. he mumbles a small, “goodnight sweetheart”, while burying his face into your hair.
all’s come in the night when you hear his soft snores behind you and his small groans as he drifts off to sleep
Tumblr media
position 2. the lap pillow: person a has their head laid on person b’s lap.
every saturday was your movie night. you both decided that with your busy schedules you guys needed a day designated to just enjoying each other’s company while relaxing at home.
gojo had his head on your lap, his white hair spilling out over your thighs as he flipped through netflix trying to find a show to watch. “what about Avatar: Last Airbender?”
“we watched that already”, you replied with your hands in his hair. as you combed through his hair he could feel himself getting sleepy. his eyes started getting heavy and he melted into your figure more. “mmm”, he said, “maybe…we can watch….”. all of a sudden the sound his breathing and small snores.
you carefully took the remote out of his hands and turned on a show you liked, leaning down to press a kiss onto his forehead before messing up his white curls.

position 3. the pretzel: person a is laying on their back while person b has their head laying on the chest. both persons have one leg entangled with the others.
you both had such little time to spend with each other, so the rare days were gojo and you have together is never taken for granted.
it was a hot day, you both sat in a secluded spot at the park, the pond was filled with swans, ducks, little fish, and turtles. gojo laid down with a sigh. “look”, he said pointing up at the sky, “that cloud looks like a plane”. you scrunched your face up in confusion, you laid down next to him and looked up at the sky. “maybe cause it is a plane gojo”, you laughed hitting his chest a little. he let out a small “oh” of realization.
you continued laughing about his discovery of a ‘plane shaped as a cloud’. “you’re cute when you laugh”, gojo said as he tickled your neck, “so pretty”. you scooched yourself closer to him so your head could lay on his chest.
he rubbed the small of your back, “i love spending time with you”. he spoke quietly, like he only wanted you to hear his affections. “me too”, you replied repeating his quiet manner. gojo lifted himself up, his elbow keeping him balance. then all of a sudden he kissed your lips, first beginning as a peck, then becoming a passionate liek he was letting his lips tell you how he felt about you.
once you two stopped he licked his lips before lying down again. there was a small smirk on his face. “i love you”, he said quietly, hoping you wouldn’t hear him. “love you too”

position 4. the drawbridge: person a is sitting down, while person b has their legs across person a’s lap.
gojo’s hands felt every dip and curve of your body. your lips were connected to his neck creating large bruises on it.
“fucckk,” gojo breathed, his grip on your waist got tighter as you started biting deeper into his neck. you went down towards his collarbone and started sucking on his skin. he let out a small whine, which made you pull away from him.
looking straight into your eyes, gojo felt overwhelmed. his face started getting hotter as your face started getting hotter to him. he licked his lips, “why do you do this to me, huh?”. he then dove into your lips. his tongue prodding your lips to let him in, to let him have a taste of something so beautiful and delicious. you giggled as you pulled away from him. he followed your lips like a puppy wanting to have more.
“shhh”, you shushed your finger against your lips signing to be quiet. you hoped off his lap making your way over to your shared bedroom. gojo looked dazed and confused about to make a complaint before he saw your finger curl in the ‘c’mere motion’. “sure thing”, he replied getting up and following you.

Pieces of media that own a piece of my soul (feel free to psychoanalyze me based off of this lol)
Avatar the Last Airbender (low hanging fruit but for good reason)
Frozen (it had a death grip on 11 year old me and it never entirely went away, I still relate far too much to both sisters)
Agents of Shield (there are no words, watch this show you will not regret it)
Sing 2 (idek man, something about the intrinsic and overwhelming love these characters have for each other coupled with the most raw and genuine depictions of anxiety I’ve ever seen animated does something to me)
Moon Knight (themes of self discovery, forgiveness, healing, and self-compassion, man)
Encanto (trauma that isn’t at all about being trans or having gifted kid burnout, but hot damn did its message hit regardless)
Nimona (I’m trans, guys, what else is there to say)
Across the Spiderverse (still transgender (I could expand on why this movie is so transcoded to me but that’s a whole separate post tbh))
Ninjago (I promise you do not want to get me started on how much these stupid legos mean to me)

Read now on Ao3 at https://ift.tt/6eYChaV by Ya_cinnamon_rolls “You are going to marry the fire lord.” He didn’t believe in this shit. Fortune-telling and predicting the future and all that mumbo jumbo. A new multiplayer mobile strategy game set in the world of Avatar, where players work together to defeat a "Barbarian Death Cult that worships an evil spirit set on dominating the world" is coming in 2024
As the title says, a new game has been announced! From Paramount (Avatar Studios' parent company), Tilting Point, and AN Games (no relation to Avatar News lol), a city-building multiplayer mobile game is coming in 2024.
Right now we don't know when the game is set, i.e. when this "Barbarbian Death Cult" is active. The press release (see below) does mention that players will "interact with beloved characters" so it has to be during some known Avatar's lifetime. The artwork provided to us above contains characters from both ATLA and TLOK with a Korra-era background, but I wouldn't read too much into it. Also I just have to say for posterity that the idea of the villains being "barbarians" feels a little off, but we'll have to wait and see!
It's possible that this is the "MMORPG" that was revealed to be planned last year-- it's likely that the "console RPG" in the same post turned out to be Quest for Balance, so it's possible both of those games have now been accounted for.
Check out the press release they sent us (bolding ours):
Tilting Point, one of the leading global publishers of free-to-play games, and real-time strategy game developer AN Games, under license from Paramount Consumer Products, are developing a multiplayer strategy mobile game focused on Nickelodeon’s Avatar: The Last Airbender franchise. Based on the renowned animated television series Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, the strategic mobile game will have players explore the Avatar world, interact with beloved characters and work together with other players to defeat a Barbarian Death Cult that worships an evil spirit set on dominating the world. Launching in 2024, the game’s official title and additional details will be announced in the coming months. In this multiplayer strategy mobile game, players will take on the role of a leader tasked with building an army and community to restore balance in the Avatar world. Strategy is key as players will need to build cities, manage resources, construct and upgrade buildings, explore the world, and engage in tactical combat to become victorious. With a focus on city building, cooperative gameplay, and exploration, players will work together to expand territories, manage resources, and restore harmony to the Avatar world.

[Image ID: A two-panel comic of Suki and Ty Lee from Avatar: The Last Airbender as young adults in a modern office setting. The comic is sketched in pencil except for the words, which are written in pen. In the first panel, Suki and Ty Lee are standing at a desk, on which is a vase of flowers. Suki takes a card off of the vase and says, "Every Monday when I show up to work, a bouquet of flowers is waiting on my desk with a note from a 'secret admirer.' It's been going on for three years." Ty Lee says "Wooooooooooow! That's a lot of secret admirers! But what does Sokka think???" In the second panel, Suki smiles widely at the card and says "He thinks I still don't recognize his handwriting." /.End ID]
Well does he leave a little note to tell you you are on his mind?
Send you yellow flowers when the sky is grey? Heyyy!
He'll find a new way to show you
A little bit every day
That's how you know
That's how you know he's your love!
Sukka Week Wild Card: Any WIP You Already Have
Based on this post from @boomerangguy. I'll add a link to the final product when it's done and posted (and the flowers are actually yellow!).
[EDIT: Here it is!]
Prompts by @sukka-week
"That's How You Know" by Stephen Schwartz and Alan Menken
Thank you to our host and all participants for another successful Sukka Week!

my super hot take on 'you shouldn't play dnd' (due to it being, not a perfect gaming system for every story + owned by a corporation that, well, it's a corporation so it hates you) -
is that if you want to find a new ttrpg you should check out the oneshot rpg podcast!
it's an actual play podcast run by the fantastic game master james d'amato, and the players are a rotating cast of sharp and hilarious chicago improv comics
the point of the show is to showcase tons and tons of different rpgs, usually indie ones - because there's so much more out there than just dnd, but it's hard to know where to start! each game is played for 1-4 hourish-long episodes, and they're an excellent introduction to whatever game they're playing
where to start? one of my favorite episodes is the one where they play call of cthulhu but as scooby doo characters!
there's no through-line or arc throughout the show's run, so you can look through the catalogue and jump into any episode where the name of the game sounds promising. some of those ttrpgs include the avatar the last airbender ttrpg, wanderhome, the firefly rpg, the dragon age rpg, something called 'gunfucks', and a hundred other systems you've never heard of!
(and if you're into more longform storytelling by the same group of people,
a star wars oneshot in the edge of the empire system spun off into its own show which i love with my entire heart
campaign skyjacks is a post-apocalypse sky pirates story about folktales and anti-capitalism loosely based on the card game illimat and the music of the decemberists
neoscum is a classic near-future cyberpunk dystopia game in the shadowrun system
for you ultranerds, patrick rothfuss is a frequent guest in these longform games!)
anyway i can't recommend the whole podcast network enough in terms of learning new rpgs and laughing your ass off, check it out and have a great day ✌️
