okay so like i go "a pinch of this a dash of that" too often to exactly nail down this recipe, but i'm just saying that if you take this recipe
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(source)
and change out the liquids for the sauce (the milk and broth) for 1 cup of heavy whipping cream and 2 cups of chicken broth, and add in ~1/2 tsp each of garlic powder and paprika + ~1 tbsp of dried parsley after the sauce boils, and add in layers of shredded cheese (about 1 cup total, ~1/3c per layer) -- you can make something slightly different and also entirely delicious.

Here's a full list of all the things Aizawa orders for himself in that one Drama CD where he met up with Mic outside work
1 Gin Tonic
Tumblr media
Dashimaki tamago
Tumblr media
Morokyu
Tumblr media
Kushimori and Sashimori [could only find a good pic of the sashimori but kushimori is a grilled chicken skewer set]
Tumblr media
Karaage
Tumblr media
Potato Salad
Tumblr media
Fried Scallops and Clams [couldn't find them together so you get them separate]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And 1 Rice set [there's different versions of what a rice set looks like depending on where you live in japan so I'm just gonna show a basic example]
Tumblr media
You know what this motherfucker orders for Hizashi though? 1 extra large beer [which he asked Hizashi about beforehand], 1 fried scallop and clams and 1 kushimori and sashimori. It's never actually said if that food is for Hizashi or if Aizawa just ordered 2 of those dishes each for himself but we can guess it's for Hizashi since Aizawa just takes over the ordering the second he gets there which is very cute
Either way this man eats a shitton when he goes out I will not stand here and keep reading fics about him skipping meals or only eating what's "necessary" to get by stop lying to yourselves

What is a Hokey Pokey thick shake? I am forever fascinated with McDonald's items that don't exist in the US so I'm wondering if it's something that is just named differently or something that only exists in Australia.
Hokey Pokey is a kind of ice cream that’s pretty popular in Australia and New Zealand. It’s honeycomb flavour essentially.
Maccas has brought out its summer range in the last week and basically there’s potato scallops with chicken salt, a Hokey Pokey Thickshake, and I think some new kind of Angus Beef burgers. We have a lot of angus beef burgers on the menu here tbh because… that’s what Australia does. Our beef is one of our main exports. They did one with like a chili bacon jam on a few years ago that was tasty.

what is your favourite form of potato?
I’m glad you asked! These are all the different forms of potatoes, ranked worst to best:
18. Potato Salad
Potato salad is the opposite of fruit salad. Number one: mayonnaise. Mayonnaise is the most pointless liquid in the universe, and I like on the same planet as piss. Second off, there’s a right way to do onions and a wrong way. Potato salad does it the wrong way. Overall, potato salad is far too wet. It sticks to my mouth like a blood sucking parasite. However, instead of sucking blood, it just sucks joy.
17. Just a Raw Potato
Too hard. Tastes just like how it looks. I tell raw potatoes just what I told my ex, “call me back when you’ve been near a fire for a long time and also have been lightly salted.
16.  Potato Bread
Why would you do that? This is an offense to nature.
15. Baked Potatoes
Baked potatoes have the flavor of a Lewis Capaldi song. Sure, it’s one of the most basic form of potato, but that’s what makes it so boring. It’s like playing as Mario in Smash.
14. Smashed Potatoes
Mashed potatoes, but with the lovecraftian horror of potato skins in the potatoes added in.
13. Mashed Potatoes
Everytime I eat mashed potatoes I’m disappointed. They look so creamy and frothy and then I eat it and it tastes like how airplanes smell.
12. Hasselback Potatoes
These ain’t much different than baked potatoes, but there’s something about the insane amount of slicing that is so…alluring, sexual perhaps. The amount of slicing is just so utterly ridiculous you know that something must be going on. However, these are just one trick ponies.
11. Gnocchi
Gnocchi tastes good, but their appearance reminds me of maggots.
10. Potato Wedges
What french fries would be like if they were mid.
 9. Potato Skins
I like skin.
8. Potato Chips
Ohhh yeah…now we’re getting into the good stuff. A massive jump up in quality from previous offerings. Who doesn’t like potato chips? They set your mouth on fire, they turn your lips into deserts, they cut your tongue, and it’s amazing.
7. Patatas Bravas
Hey, what if potatoes, but spicy? Absolutely genius idea Spain, gold star for you. These taters will set you on fire in all the best ways, and they may also cure erectile dysfunction. You never know with potatoes. These are, without a doubt, the Kid A of potatoes.
6. Scalloped Potatoes
The answer to the question, what if hasselback potatoes but we added other tricks to the pony? And boy oh boy does this pony have tricks! Cream and onions and sunshine and rainbows and all the love in the world.
5. Hash Browns
How can one bite into a hash brown without instantly being teleported to somewhere where there are a lot of hashbrowns?
4. Latkes
Ain’t no party like a Hanukkah. Obviously, everything is better when you smother it in oil and then set it on fire a bit.
3. Roasted Potatoes
Fuck yeah. I like my potatoes like I like my woman, set on fire for extended periods of time. At least, I assume that’s what roasted means. Nevertheless, roasted potatoes are juicy, succulent delights.
Tater Tots
Now, sure, your ordinary elementary school cafeteria tater tots might not be anything special. However, those fancy deluxe tater tots? Those are to die, kill, maim, torture, and break the geneva convention for. Every bite just oozes with untold amounts of flavor.
Truely, tater tots are the OK Computer of potato forms.
French Fries
One of the greatest foods known to man. One bite of a single french fry is enough to make all your worries melt into a puddle and then fall down the drain. However, it is here that we must rank the various kinds of french fries.
1d. Normal french fries
Great, but ordinary, like a warm blanket or a cup of hot cocoa. Not anything groundbreaking, but enjoyable nonetheless.
1c. Curvy French Fries
I am literally salivating. Oh god…so good.
1b. Waffle French Fries
One of the best things ever created. Second only to…
1a. Garlic French Fries!
Garlic French fries are the best things ever because garlic.

Gbbo pastry week sort semi-liveblogging
Starting in the middle
Dan cut his finger and still got number one? Competent dad baker
Is that fancy word just mean scalloped potatoes
They said they were judging the pastry but I think potato factored. Of course, always seems they’re cooking while baking
When Paul said Interesting to Dana I know it was the technical, she could have told others tbh……
Oh yeah Christy was like this is horrible, and then got a handshake
Saku and Nicky and Rowan in trouble in the middle of the show, basically say all the personalities, boo
Josh’s late grandmother 😭
Saku pie pie graph, slay
I have forgotten what frangipane is
Tasha like physically manipulating the hands to do finger spelling 🥹
Do hope they make it
Josh’s flowers look so nice
Saku no!!!!
(I already saw that happen to Rowan so I did not yell)
I also have to look up Saltanas later
Christy did great
A lot of people seem in trouble
Yay Josh
Rowan… not ready for you to go personality-wise
Oh crap I forgot two people are leaving
Noooo
Cristy, I hope this helps your self confidence
Yeah… saw that coming. Well, it’s okay neither of the two would have ever won, but they were fun

What are some of your fav recipes?? I am in such a cooking rut.
I have that problem all the time! We're both picky so it's tough.
My current favorite is this recipe we found fairly recently.
Some that we kinda regularly rotate through (and yeah we eat too much smoked sausage...we use turkey smoked sausage, at least! Haha).
Tacos
Jambalaya
Cajun pasta (basically jambalaya but with pasta rather than rice)
A sheet pan meal that is smoked sausage, fingerling potatoes, green beans, carrots and onions - brushed with olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper.
A sheet pan meal that is smoked sausage, bell peppers and onions, brushed with olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper.
Beef stew
Scalloped potatoes with ham
Shake & bake pork steak.
Chicken soup with carrots, celery and pearl quinoa rather than pasta (a copycat of progresso's homesyle)
Pizza-quesadillas
Chicken fajitas
Subs
Chicken with "kick'n" seasoning
"thanksgiving" but without the turkey, lol. Mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, veggies.
Hamburger gravy over mashed potatoes. We don't make this often but it's sooo good.
Hope something in here gives you an idea. :)

29, 30, 43, 56 ? 🧐
29. Favorite film?
This is also hard because nothing immediately springs to mind. Movies I’m always down to watch include Princess Bride, Mad Max Fury Road, and literally this is not a joke - Shrek (both one and two). I also really love LOTR but not in a crazy way, just like I can throw that trilogy on over the course of the day and get sucked into just watching all of them in one go lol.
30. Favorite TV show?
My comfort show has been futurama since the dawn of time but I also like parks and rec a lot, bojack horseman fucked me up. My brain meat is so overloaded with anxiety that I really only watch weird competition shows anymore.
43. Favorite song?
December 1963 is legit one of my all time fave songs. But I also really really love Poke and I Wish I Was Sober by Frightened Rabbit, Shrike and Would that I by Hozier (basically hozier as an artist lol) and a lot of glam rock, surprisingly. I’m also like a sleeper Panic at the Disco fan because I wouldn’t actively say I’m a fan but I also know all of their songs and enjoy listening to them. MCR will also always hold a place in my little emo heart. This was not the question but that’s my answer.
56. Favorite foods?
Ice cream is top tier in any form. A well seasoned and well cooked steak with a simple butter sauce and garlic mashed potatoes, scallops rule, breakfast food is so good, especially pancakes and French toast and the sweet stuff, nachos and tacos, sushi, lol I am a fan of food in general, especially stuff I haven’t tried or stuff that is creative or super homey and comforting.
Thank you!!

Potato Varieties
Potatoes are a beloved staple in many people's diets, and growing your own can be a rewarding and delicious experience. With so many varieties of potatoes available for sale, choosing which ones to grow can be overwhelming.
CATEGORIES OF VARIETIES
Potatoes can be categorized in several ways, including their skin color, flesh color, and time to maturity. The most common skin colors are red, yellow, and white, with red potatoes having a more robust flavor and yellow potatoes having a buttery taste. Flesh colors can range from white to yellow to blue. Time to maturity can vary greatly, with some varieties taking as little as 70 days to mature and others taking over 120 days.
TIME TO MATURITY
There are three basic categories of potatoes depending on the time it takes to mature from planting to harvest. It’s important to note that many potatoes can be harvested early, while immature, with the potatoes being smaller but still perfectly edible and delicious.
Early Season Potatoes
Early-season potatoes are typically harvested between 70 and 90 days after planting. These potatoes are perfect for gardeners who want to harvest fresh potatoes early in the season. Early potatoes are usually small, with thin skins and a delicate flavor, and may include “new” potatoes - aka potatoes harvested before reaching full maturity.
Mid Season Potatoes
Mid-season potatoes take around 90 to 110 days to mature. These potatoes have thicker skins and are usually larger than early-season potatoes. Mid-season potatoes have a more balanced starch content than early-season varieties and are commonly used in salads and soups. Mid-season potatoes can store well for several months, making them a popular choice for winter storage.
Late Season Potatoes
Late-season potatoes are harvested approximately 110 to 135 days after planting, usually in late summer or early fall. These potatoes take longer to mature than early and mid-season varieties, but they produce higher yields and are ideal for storage. Late-season potatoes have thicker skins and denser flesh, which lends to a longer shelf life than other types of potatoes, making them an excellent choice for winter storage.
COLOR
Potatoes can also be categorized by their color.
White potatoes are the most commonly consumed variety of potatoes. They have a mild, delicate flavor and fluffy texture, making them perfect for mashing or baking. This category includes the Russet potato, the king of baked potatoes.
Yellow potatoes, also known as golden potatoes, have a buttery and rich flavor with a creamy texture, making them a popular choice for mashed potatoes, roasted dishes, and soups. They are ideal for roasting or frying and are often used in dishes such as potato salad or gratin. Some popular yellow potato varieties include Yukon Gold and German Butterball.
Red potatoes have a thin, smooth red skin that makes their namesake. They have a firm texture, hold their shape well during cooking, and are often used in stews or roasted dishes. Red potatoes are also great for making potato salad or scalloped potatoes. Blue and purple potatoes are relatively new to the market, and I’ve never tried these myself. They reputedly have a slightly sweeter flavor than white potatoes and a nutty, earthy flavor that pairs well with herbs and spices.
HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR OWN VARIETY
When choosing which potato variety to grow in your garden, there are several factors to consider. One of the most critical factors is your climate. Potatoes grow best in cool weather, and some varieties are more tolerant of heat than others. If you live in a warmer climate, choose a variety that matures early in the season before the summer heat sets in.
Another factor to consider is the taste and texture you prefer. Some varieties are better for baking, while others are better for mashing or frying. Consider what dishes you like to cook with potatoes and choose a variety that will suit your needs.
Finally, consider the size and yield of the variety. If you have limited garden space, choose a type that produces smaller potatoes but yields more per plant. If you have plenty of space, choose a variety that makes larger potatoes but fewer per plant.
VARIETIES I'M GROWING
This spring (spring 2023), I am planting Red Luna, Rio Grande Russet, and Yukon Gold potatoes.
Red Luna is a red, early-season potato with red skin and gold flesh, taking 70 days to maturity.
Yukon Gold potatoes are a yellow, early-season potato with yellow skin and flesh, taking 65 days to maturity.
Rio Grande Russet potatoes are a white, mid-season potato with brown, thick skin and white flesh, taking 100 days to maturity.
All of these should suit my climate well and produce high yields. Watch this space for updates!

Top ten dishes I would make for Waver
slow cooked potato soup
That Florentine chicken I made last night which was really fucking good
Chicken parmaggiana
Sticky ginger soy chicken
Tuscan chicken
Why are all of these chicken dishes?????????
French onion soup w/melted gruyere on sliced baguette
Honey Walnut shrimp (shrimp rage moment)
Lobster tail w/fried scallops
Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte
Pound cake from scratch
Crab Rangoon dip
Tuna melt also . I'm going to have a tuna melt for dinner tonight because it's tuna melt tuesday
Grilled cheese and tomato soup
Basically any sort of panini sandwich imo because I do have a sandwich press, but also, I really enjoy pan-frying the sandwiches with a good butter as well. I think butter just adds flavor in a way that spray-on stuff doesn't do
Korean style chicken mayo rice because fuck it I love being crazy
Tteokbokki also
Lamb Biryani
Chicken biryani
Ground mutton & potato curry
Chicken/Lamb Korma (I always switch between lamb and chicken for curries for some reason)
Japanese style beef curry bc I enjoy it, personally,
PHILLY CHEESESTEAK
Japanese croquettes. I made these the other day for my roommate's Xmas present too
I started thinking about Shepherd's pie too. Meat pies are awesome, but I've never made any. I would make one and then give it to Waver to taste test
There's these rainbow sugar cookies I make that are really good but they're damn addicting and dangerous. It's because they use almond extract in them. Ugh they're good though
Spice cake is really good...
This is more than 10 whatever. Do you agree. What do you think. What should I make for Waver next

Get To Know Me Meme
Tagged by: @thebreakfastgenie thanks !!!!!
Top three ships: Houlihawk (Hawkeye/Margaret from Mash) is my favorite thing ever ATM. Also starting to get into Patjean (Patrick/Jean from American Psycho). They’re… interesting?? I never thought I’d be one of those basic white girls who has a ship where one character is a deranged psychopath with murder tendencies (if you, like me, believe it was in his head), but here I am. I can’t think of an ultimate 3rd one, so I’ll say all the other Mash couples (Charles and Donna were so great). I also love Velma/Roxie from Chicago because just put ‘em in a room together and they’d the power couple in no time.
First ship: I’m not in this fandom at all, but when I was thirteen and watched The Breakfast Club and was like “Bender and Allison would have been a better pairing than the awful pairings in the end”.
Last song: Pleasant Valley Sunday by The Monkees
Last Movie: G.I. Blues
Currently reading: This is kind of embarrassing, but American Girl books. (Specifically Kit and Rebecca, which were my favorites as a kid). Basically, I only recently got back into reading for fun after not doing that for 5 years. And I also don’t have the same attention span I had at age 13, so I reread all the stuff I liked as a kid to get back into it. I’m also getting into Judy Blume since I know I would have liked her at age 10.
Currently watching: M*A*S*H is the only thing I’ve been super dedicated to lately. But my other favorite TV shows are King of the Hill (I started and finished the entire show all of last summer so that’s my biggest accomplishment hehe) and My Name Is Earl. I also just started Skins and The Mary Tyler Moore Show.
Currently consuming: nothing, but I had a hot dog and French fries earlier
Craving: the scallop potatoes I’m going to make for Christmas
Tagging: @a-world-in-a-grain-of-sand @lenabobena91 @funkyfreakyday @frapphae @perfectopposite @lorrainestea @luvsbitca And anyone else who wants to do this !!!!!!! Also don’t feel obligated to post because I tagged you

5, 9, and 16 for the fun ask game!!!!
Thank you friend!! ox
5. favorite form of potato?
I had poutine in Montreal a few years ago and DANG! I think that wins the race!! I mean, I do like mashed potatoes too. And some other kinds of fries. Scalloped potatoes are super amazing too.
9. do you have a skincare routine (and how many steps is it)?
So here's the thing. I'm not a youngster anymore, so I do have a skincare routine but even so, it's pretty basic. I use a cleanser in the shower and a few times a week, I do a scrub. I wear moisturizer with sunscreen every day, because I've already had basal cell more than once. Wear your sunscreen and if your hair doesn't cover your ears, WEAR IT ON YOUR EARS TOO. I also have this really nice coffee oil roller thing I do under my eyes. I don't think it does much of anything, but it smells nice and feels good. I don't really wear makeup - sometimes I wear some powder and mascara but not usually. At night, I do a cleanser thing, depending on what I've got, and then I wear a night moisturizer of some sort. Most of my stuff, I get at the drugstore. Sometimes I buy stuff on etsy!
16. thoughts on mint chocolate chip?
I have many, many thoughts on mint chocolate chip and they are POSITIVE. Peppermint, mint cookie and mint chocolate chip are my MOST FAVORITE FLAVORS of ice cream. I'm honestly not really a chocolate person at all, but I make an exception for chocolate paired with mint.
weirdly specific and unrelated asks to know someone well

Tumblr media
1. What does your muse smell like ?
well, it’s usually pretty much the same. he reeks like cigarettes, because he’s always smoking. the fingers are the worst. his breath kind of smells of like cigarettes, unless he’s also been drinking. he’s a scotch kind of man - & so he’ll also smell of that, too. his suits all have this faint sort of cigarette smell, on them. it’s basically embedded in the fabric. also, he wears musky colognes. nothing fruity or full bodied, either. he can also have that smell of blood or sweat, depending on what he’s been doing. he’s also known to eat a lot of chocolate, so it can also linger on his breath as well... but, also sex & beer sometimes.
2. What do your muse’s hands feel like ?
okay so, richard only has one hand obviously... but, he keeps it nice. since he’s come into money, it’s hard for him not to want to keep himself looking as good as possible. not to mention the fact that it’s important for him personally. he’s a ladies man, with a god complex. he gets manicures, & when i say manicures i mean full. pedicures, too. just no nail polish down there, as he would with his fingers. always black paint, & this process always keeps his hands soft. he can have cut up knuckles at any point, or scabbed knuckles. as well as bruises, sometimes. but his hands are actually even more soft because they’re not skinny, or bony. he has kind of a round, soft/plush hand. it’s proportionate, really. so while it’s not fat per-se, it has some give to it. he moisturizes, too.
3. What does your muse usually eat in a day ?
black coffee, & cigarettes for breakfast. maybe some greasy sandwich with sausage, if he’s super starving. but he slathers mayonnaise on it. he eats nothing for lunch, unless he’s going out. he keeps himself busy for work, plus he does cocaine all the time so he’s usually got a shitty appetite during the day. if he didn’t eat breakfast, he’ll order something from somewhere. he likes american chinese, but he’ll usually order like roast beef sandwiches or he’s found a place with okay bratwurst. he probably drinks a beer around lunchtime to keep him full, and also maybe some chocolate treats he’s stored in his office. dinners are steak or some rare meat/potatoes combo if he’s at a restaurant. if not, he’ll order something of the like or if he’s home with till & the guys, he’ll have the chef make it. prime rib, hamburgers, steak - anything like that. roast beef / horseradish. uhhhh, he’ll also always do potatoes (scalloped, mashed, baked). vegetables, too. usually. also, red wine with dinner to go with the food & then he’ll switch to scotch.
4. Does your muse have a good singing voice ?
yeah, to be honest. he doesn’t sing often unless it’s to songs he really likes, but i gave him kruspe’s voice & the guy has a nice voice. although his accent is written all over his, & he’s still got that lisp/issues with pronouncing english. & it’s not disguised by his singing, at all. but it’s cute, & he can carry a tune very well..
5. Does your muse have any bad habits or nervous ticks ?
he chain smokes, drinks almost all throughout the back half of the day, & is a functioning cocaine addict. he’ll also do other drugs like acid, mushrooms, and weed. he smokes weed in the evenings usually, though. he also inhales really sharply, a lot. like just, an audible sucking in of air. he talks with his hand(s)... he clenches his jaw A LOT of the time, due to the cocaine & combination of drugs / stress. he says ‘er’ a lot, when he speaks - like an ‘um’ or something like that. as far as other ‘bad habits’ go, he’s a sex addict / serial cheater. he’s got a tendency to start fights, & he’s a pathological liar. however, he can control his impulses when he wants to.
6. What does your muse usually look like / wear ?
he’s almost always wearing a suit. whether or not he’s got his jacket on, is optional. a lot of the time he’s missing it, and just rocks the shirt/tie/slacks combo. he also switches between a thin black tie, or bowtie. he likes the bowtie better, though. it’s always a black suit, white shirt, black tie. when he’s really casual, he’s wearing designer sweatpants or jeans & a tank top, or black button-up shirt. but that’s basically it, for variety. his hair is also usually styled in a spikey manner, & he shaves his face regularly but he’s not opposed to some heavy stubble.
7. Is your muse affectionate ?  How much ?  How so ?
he can be. although, whether it’s genuine or not is always up in the air. if it is genuine, he’ll usually be really high, or really wants to fuck. he’s always charming & cool, & touchy/feely until he gets what he wants. after he’s very cold, unless you’re in a ‘relationship’ of any kind, or he gives any sort of a fuck about you. even then, he’ll hold you for a while until he gets bored. if he’s in a more masochistic/submissive headspace though he’s very very attention starved and likes to have people stroke through his hair. he’s also been known to lie his head in people’s laps. if you are his significant other, or something to that affect, he’ll hold you more possessively. hand on the back of your neck, the small of your back. grabbing your ass, holding you against him. stuff like that. but it’s all in public. behind closed doors he’ll accept affection if it serves him, or if it’s stroking his ego. he won’t turn you down if you wanna sit in his lap & tell him how sexy he is. or, if he thinks sex will come out of it.
8. What position does your muse sleep in ?
On his stomach, or his back. he’ll usually start on his stomach, & if he moves he’ll wind up on his back. his arm will be beside his head, with his stump stuck under the pillow. or, on his back he’ll rest his hand on his chest & the other hand by his side. his mouth will be open, & he snores softly.
9. Could you hear your muse in the hallway from another room ?
yeah, probably. his speaking voice isn’t terribly loud, & he’s got average sounding footsteps. but when he yells, he can get scarily loud. & if he’s throwing things, or something, it gets worse.
