Morning vibe with Jewel 12/02/23

Jewel's face is about how I feel about early morning dance classes on Saturday. Not that this is an abnormal thing for me and my dance schedule but there are times I still gripe about it....like today. I'd like to just lay around in bed this morning.

Anyway, my family got our Christmas tree up and decorated yesterday evening. Liam and Caitlyn came over and hung out and helped too which was nice. It is still a little weird that my brother Liam and Caitlyn don't live in our house anymore AND Liam is going to be a father...holy shit! That's all just so weird, surreal and crazy to me. It's also possible my oldest brother Theo might be moving out and going to New York for a job opportunity there as a wedding photographer. Photography is really Theo's passion even though he does have a business finance degree as well and works in banking which is a good job but I understand He wants to do more of what he loves and not continue full time career in banking and doing photography on the side where he can and when he has time. I want him to have a photography job. I am jealous He could be moving to new York. New York is where my family is from originally and I love new York so much - miss living there.

Well, that's my little blurb for today. I have to get in for hiphop class!

I always feel bad when I move my little dog away from a big dog thats in our path especially if its one with a reputation like pit bulls or german shepards cuz i stg everytime the other owners like "oh dont worry my dogs super friendly" cuz like, its not you.

#she super finicky about whether shell like another dog or not #so its overall safer to just stay on her path and avoid other animals best i can #she never likes puppies or golden retrievers #but she does pretty well with german shepards?#and she loves poodles #but not doodles #other little dogs she tends to be more neutral with but ill avoid em just in case #she gets on great with other hound dogs tho #beagles bassets whatever #those are usually all friends to her #Australian sheperds on the other hand never mix well with her

Kosmo is the big dog who is large enough to steal things from the dinner table, but knows it would make people upset with him so he does not. Bae Bae is the little dog who has no such reservations. She is a menace at the dinner table, and has stolen two entire sticks of butter in her life. Living large.

Trick or Treat!

Mable is offering you as much of the leftover candy we have from trick or treating last night as you'd like because she can't have any (fun fact: our previous dog Penny actually ate a bunch of Halloween candy once, wrappers and all, but apparently there isn't enough chocolate in them for it to be dangerous). We've got some Reese cups, 3 Musketeers, Milky Ways and Twix (yes, I was strategic about what I gave the kids for the sake of leftovers), but not the Haribo Gummy Bears. Those are for Other Human (my spouse).

7/24/23 Monday

Incase of the mondays I have found some pictures of our dogs as puppies for you! The only one not included is our German shepherd husky mix, Zues because we did not get him as a puppy. He was actually not a dog we planned to get or intended to keep but love him much! So we've actually only had Zues for about a year and half now.

Are you trying to decide on a dog and keep getting confused between a beagle and a basset; well, why not get a mix of the two? The Basset Hound Beagle Mix is an adorable mix of the two breeds with all the attractive features in one. The two breeds are very different in terms of personality, appearance, temperament etcetera but they have some similarities when it comes to their background. With long ears, square skulls, and drooping eyes, the Basset Hound Beagle mix resembles a hybrid between a Basset Hound and a Beagle.

So this has been a thing I've been wondering for a while ever since asking about the difference between the words the cats used for hound and dog: you mention that toy breeds are all one word which fair, but if one were to be given the prefix Yarf-, how would that be translated to english? Toybreeddog- literally yes, but how would you simplify the name so it's not a mouthful? Like for the other two they could be Dogkit and Houndkit but what would yarf be? Closest thing I've got is maybe puppy or terrier though that wouldn't be quite accurate either way, since puppy implies those dogs are all young or all terriers (I mean a decent amount of terriers are about cat sized, even some toy breeds are terrier in name alone, like yorkies and bostons).

Whelp, pup, pooch, or tyke would be the easiest translations. Tyke is actually a word for small, mixed-breed mutts which gets applied to human children as slang. You could shuffle the middlemost dog category, but try not to think in terms of the official, human conception of dog breeds! Remember that you're translating from a different language with a totally different view of these animals. It's going to be an approximation either way.

You could do Hound, Cur, Dog. Or you could do Hound, Mutt, Terrier. Or you could do Canine, Mongrel, Toy. You could even just describe the sounds they're making, Bay, Bark, Yap. At the end of the day, the Clanmew categorization of the three types of dogs is as loose and arbitrary as the English ones.

I'd also think about what exactly the name is meant to invoke. The kitten might have been named after a specific dog-related incident, so the most "accurate" translation would really be whatever is closest to that particular dog. Yap, Toy, or Terrier make a good enough words, but if the name was supposed to mean that they're a little ruffian who likes to fight, you can just say Scrappykit or Punk-kit.

If you did go with "pup" though, that would be perfectly acceptable. Clan cats don't have a dedicated word for baby dogs, so if you said "Bayao Yarf," they'd understand that as you saying "hound pup" or maybe even "basset hound," depending on the context.

WHILE I'm at it though, here is a new word for most young predators. This describes fox kit, badger cubs, and dog pups. It can also be applied to young hogs, but they actually have a LOT of terms in Clanmew for specific age ranges.

(kinda like how you can call a fox kit a "cub" or a "pup" and it's still fine.)

Hermit Species - HCs 2

Ren and his brothers(Renbob, also known as Rob, and the Red King, also known as King) are anthro dog hybrids, but they’re different breeds. Rob is a basset hound, lab mix. King is a wolf dog with lab as the dog part, and Ren is a pure blooded lab.

Both Wels and Hels are moth hybrids; They’re different kinds of silks moths. Wels is a domestic silk moth, and Hels is a cecropia moth.

Beef is some kind of cow hybrid. He has cow ears, horns, and a matching tail.

Doc is a mix of a lot of things. He’s some kind of creeper centaur, but he also has goat blood. Also though some accidents in his youth, he is also a cyborg.

TFC is the same kind of creature that Herobrine is. He’s not exact a player but is also isn’t a mob or hybrid. He’s just something separate entirely.

Cleo is a zombie,,, what else would she be?

Gem is a shapeshift. Unlike Mumbo and Etho who stick to one form, she likes to change it up. She’s been an elf, a deer, a fish, a fox, and many others. There’s no telling what she will be when you see her.

Grian is similar to a selkie, yet different. A similar idea as his wings keep his true appearance hidden. Without his wings, he looks almost human, but at the same time, he was slightly off at the same time.

Iskall is a cyborg. His body is human, but he has various cyborg parts. Not just his eyes, but other bits and pieces under her clothes

Cub was originally a human, but through messing with vex magic, he changed into being part vex.
