Underrune

This is an AU where we mix Deltarune and Undertale!

Basically, almost every character from Undertale had a (loose) swap with a character from Deltarune :0

So it's a familiar but also unfamiliar story :D

I gotta say, I'm loving this so much💕

The sprites are awesome, I love Asterix and Brackets, Ralsei and Kris, the characters I know and love different but still familiar

And OH BABY it got SOUNDTRACKS!!

As a SoundCloud user I gotta say, it's real treat reading the story while listening to bangers 💕

It doesn't have a LOT of stuff so I recommend you guys giving the whole blog (@underrune-bat ) a go! (hehe I did)

ChristmAUs 2020 is here!

It has been a year since the previous ChristmAUs, and this year, it comes bigger than ever before! Featuring a staggering 224 characters (not counting most snowmen), this has been one of the biggest collaborative projects I’ve ever done!

What is Underrune?

Underrune is a sprite comic au that follows the premise of Deltarune characters living in the Undertale world. Meaning any Undertale characters will not be present, with a Deltarune character in their place, with Chara being the exception.

What are the roles?

The main character roles are as follows:

Kris as the Fallen Human (Frisk)

Ralsei as Toriel, Flowey, and Asriel

Rouxls Kaard as Sans

Lancer as Papyrus

Susie as Undyne

Noelle as Alphys

Jevil as MTT

Spade King as Asgore

Chara as Chara

How many people are working on this?

As of writing this, there are 9 people on our team, each varying on different jobs to make this sprite comic come to life (composers, spriters, etc)

What does BAT stand for?

It stands for Behind A Tree. Early into development, we decided we wanted a team name to make us “stand out” as it were. Also the url “underrune” was taken, so. Yeah.

What will the areas be like in Underrune? Like Undertale’s? Deltarune’s? Both?

We’re aiming for each area to be like a fusion between their corresponding canon areas. The beginning and Ralsei’s castle will be mixed with the Ruins, Field of Hopes and Dreams will be mixed with Snowdin, Scarlet Forest with Waterfall, etc.

Can we make fanart?

Of course! Just be sure to ping us when you’ve posted!

Do you have a discord server?

Please don’t.

What pronouns do Kris/Chara go by?

They both use they/them. Any ask sent to this blog that misgenders them will not be answered. This is non-negotiable. Additionally, Seam is agender and uses no pronouns or they/them if really needed.

A Note about Roles

Hello, everybody!

This isn't a comic update, as you've probably noticed. Sorry about that, haha, but we wanted to address something else.

We've gotten frequent asks about roles, and which character is which, so we'd like clarify something. Roles are not something that strictly defines our story. Sure, they may be indicative of when character will appear, but other than that, they don't have a strong impact on character's personalities, especially since roles in UNDERRUNE aren't perfect swaps.

Take for example, Ralsei. He is very clearly in the role of the caretaker, as he guides Kris through the Ruins (Shadowed Sanctuary). And yet he is the first face Kris sees in the underground, and introduces himself with "Howdy! I'm [Name]! [Name] the [Title]!" So is he Toriel, or Flowey? He’s both! And neither. The imperfections of the swaps will become more apparent as the story progresses.

In conclusion, please don't spend your time speculating and thinking too much about which minor character is in which role. The main character roles have been revealed, and that's the most important thing here.
