I'd say I'm in the midst of moving phase. Teardrops of sadness and joy were so usual for me nowadays- in my apartment, at work (which I usually have to learn on my own), eating, and having fun on my own. I'm in a phase where I go to the supermarket alone, eat alone, go to laundry alone, and buy everything I want by myself. Lonely yet flourishing.
Being an engineer in my field is a huge accomplishment for me. Most of the time, I need to be smart and knowledgeable, which is thrilling. More to the point where my co-engineers really have a kind of life where they go to the bar (which I refer to them as bar boys and bar girls cuz they were from i think an elite class). I’m having fun here tho and most of the time I’m going with them.
Again, i’m moving forward towards growth but I miss you.

Mountains, according to the angle of view, the season, the time of day, the beholder's frame of mind, or any one thing, can effectively change their appearance. Thus, it is essential to recognize that we can never know more than one side, one small aspect of a mountain.

Batangas Lakelands is just a few minutes drive from the toll exit and it's along the highway so you'll easily find it. The place is perfect for outdoor activities and you can do a lot here especially if you're sporty. You can get their amazing packages with a discount if you book through their website.
I enjoyed leisure biking, archery, airsoft, rappelling, wall climbing and zipline. You can also play volleyball, basketball shooting and soccer here. They also have the Batangas Lakelands Transport Bus wherein you can hop in and hop off to your destination only if you have an unlimited pass. They also have some food stalls inside but if you want heavy meals you can go out and have a meal at the nearby Lomi house.
Just saw this Lomi house after our visit to Batangas Lakelands.
The place has two floors and the view on the second floor is very relaxing. The food is delicious and very affordable plus the serving size is good enough for two if you're not a heavy eater. This is just across Batangas Lakelands, so if ever you're in the area, you should try their Lomi and Pancit Bihon.
After our Batangas trip, we decided to go to Tagaytay afterwards before heading back home. The first cafe we went to was already closed so we had to find another cafe and we drove to Crosswinds Tagaytay. We're not really sure where to dine here but we just kept on going until we reached Windmill Lausanne.
The place makes you feel like you're in another country and takes you back in time. It's aesthetically pleasing and has a relaxing vibes but the food is just okay and a bit pricey.
Overall, it's a good place to chill with friends and family. I'm not sure if you can reach this place by commute since it's quite far from the main entrance of Crosswinds and as far as I know, they don't allow PUV's to go inside, only private vehicles. But there's an exit near Windmill but the road is too narrow, though most vehicles passing through are private.
I couldn't remember the last time the whole family went on an out-of-town trip. Was it during my college years? Or maybe back in high school? It felt like ages ago. Life's demands had kept us apart, and every time we planned an outing, one of us couldn't make it. This time around, even for this quick weekend getaway, we couldn't get everyone together as we'd hoped. My brother's family decided last minute not to come, much to our disappointment, especially for my parents who were looking forward to spending time with their grandchild. Oh well.
Anyway, EG Funds, the company I work for, had organized a "Family Getaway" incentive for all employees. We had three destinations to choose from: Zambales (Beach), Batangas (Beach), and Antipolo (Private pool villa). We went with Batangas as it offered both a beach and a pool, and it was much closer compared to Zambales. The company provided a certain budget, which covered our one-day accommodation and entrance fee. We all chipped in for our food and the rented van. Our unit had two rooms and a nice view of the resort from the balcony.
Our parents were ecstatic and took their sweet time taking photos all around. Surprisingly, the resort was quite crowded. It seemed like everyone missed spending time outdoors with their families. It almost felt like things were back to normal, but nope, COVID is still out there, folks! So, despite the festive atmosphere, I chose not to swim at the beach or the pool. I still thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We also had a fun round of Pinoy Henyo that night, and the guys enjoyed some beers into the wee hours. Before heading back home, I treated the family to a meal at Healthy Shabu-Shabu the next day. All in all, it was a quick but enjoyable getaway.
By the way, Asis and I also used the massage incentive from the company (Oct 1). I'm truly grateful to EG for providing my family with such a wonderful getaway experience.
