Can sing well: Bruce, Damian, Duke
Not great, not awful: Jason, Steph, Cass
Can talk-sing like Rex Harrison in My Fair Lady: Alfred, Babs
Terrible, banned: Dick, Tim, Helena
Whether or not they ever do sing is another matter.

Batkids would totally fight over this, and also I head cannon that they named them after ancient philosophers.
Like it started with Jason not Dick, Jason used to name them after famous dead authors but then as things work out in Gotham, things blew up and over half the gargoyles had to be renamed, however when Jason died Tim took over and Jason couldn’t tell him the naming system. Bruce knew the naming system but he was so caught up in grief that he didn’t tell Tim, and also he wanted to ice Tim out when he was Robin so he didn’t want to appeal to Tim in anyway, and naming gargoyles was what he considered as “fun” (he also didn’t want to be reminded of Jason)
Of course Tim being Tim, he needed a system and also he was lonely on patrol sometimes so he started to name the gargoyles after scientists and inventors he admired, but again Gotham being Gotham they got destroyed, he didn’t want to renamed them things like “Einstein 2” (Jason did btw) so he started to name them after ancient philosphers and renaissance artists. He didn’t tell Bruce because he wanted to be taken seriously and this was his professional job, and naming gargoyles seemed like a kid thing that Bruce could use as an excuse to say that he isn’t mature enough to be Robin.
When Tim met Steph, she latched onto the idea , and she accidentally let it slip when she was like “Meet you near Plato” and Tim froze as Bruce asked “who is Plato?” And Steph casually answered “ya know the Gargoyle, B duh” and then Bruce turned a little cold and was like “you name them.” And Tim is shaking as Steph is like “ Nah, Tim did.” And Bruce turns his icy stare to him and Tim shrinks but before Bruce could say anything Cass pipes up and asks Who Plato was, so Tim in his, nervous glory, started rambling abt Plato and his philosphies in great detail. And Cass is like show me the gargoyle so they …
Go see the gargoyles and Cass is in love with this concept. She asks everytime on patrol what that one’s name is or sends a photo when she’s out in Gotham, Tim and Steph always answer with the name and who the person was that the gargoyle was named after. Cass is delighted to learn about knew things and it settles Tim’s nerves, especially when Bruce is around when Cass asks.
Tim thinks Bruce thinks it was immature to name the gargoyles, but doesn’t say anything bc Cass is learning things. But then one day, when Cass asks the name and Tim answers Homer and explains that he spoke the Aenid and Odessey, Cass gets confused “spoke?” And then Bruce answers “yes, they didn’t write them, they spoke stories. Somebody eventually wrote it down, but it wasn’t completely accurate and there are many interpretations.” Tim is gobsmacked and Bruce side eyes him and says “I’m surprised you named him that, some question if he even existed.” And as Tim blushes and stutters, Bruce has the faintest smirk. He stutters through an explanation of what a pen name is when Cass asks why he wouldn’t have existed.
Later, when Dami is in the family, Steph explains Tim’s naming system and her and Cass give him a Gargoyle tour while Bruce is lost in time. Cass is very proud to have remembered them all but she is sad that Tim isn’t there to see that she remembered. Damian begrudgingly says “at least Drake has some taste, it is still childish w devour”. He still uses the names though and commits them to memory.
Tim doesn’t know that Dami knows until after he brought Bruce back, Jason is back in the family and Duke is in the family and he sees Dami giving Duke a gargoyle tour while he’s on patrol.
When they get back to cave that night, Duke says to Tim that his gargoyle naming system is awesome and that gives Jason and Dick pause. They listen to Duke smile abt Tim’s names as he stutters through explanation as to why he named them that and that Steph named some too, and even Damian with his naming system and then Jason is like-
“You let him change the system?!” To Bruce who only looks exasperated. And then Jason turns to Tim with an angry look in his eye and Tim is scared that Jason is gonna try to kills him again.
“It’s not bad enough you took my place, now you took my naming system?!” Jason fumes at him and Tim tries to stutter an apology and it’s only after 10 minutes of a third degree that Jason is interrupted by a scoff.
“Of course you’d name them after pedestrian authors.” Damian says and Dick chimes in saying he and Babs named some too and is a bit upset that Tim changed the system. Then Steph is like “well you weren’t here to tell us that.” Tim is silent as Damian, Steph, Dick and Jason argue and he is a bit embarrassed and sad and hirrfies that he accidentally took something from Jason again. Why hadn’t Bruce told him?
And then Cass says that it helped her learn history and everyone is quiet for a second. And then Tim says to her “authors are also apart of history, they write history so we can know and they make worlds that are fun to escape to.” He then turns to Jason and says “I’m sorry, I didn’t know that your naming system was that, if I did I wouldn’t have named anything.” He had said and then Jason huffed and asked “Why did you even start naming them?”
Tim then blushed and said that he was lonely and that when he was on patrol sometimes it could be a bit…harsh (he didn’t tell them that Bruce was being harsh and. Cold and sometimes scolded him way too often and berated him harshly when he was injured so Tim would let his mind wonder to the gargoyles and named them and pretended his was having a nice conversation with aerostotal instead of being ragged on by Batman). Cass and Steph knows what he means to an extent, but the rest of the batkids are just a bit confused. Tim goes on to say that he never told Bruce his naming system because, as Damian said, it was childish and he didn’t want to seem immature and that he didn’t want Robin taken away
Then Jason “why would he take away Robin for that? He literally named like seven gargoyles when he was Robin.” And didn’t give agobsmacked Tim time to answer as he turned to Bruce and demands “why did he think that you’d take away Robin for being a kid, he was a kid that was kinda a requirement for the role.” “No it’s not-“ “implied requirement, whatever. Explanation, now.”
Tim tried to be like “no, it was just my stupid mind being like, I gotta prove myself and shit-“ but then Bruce surprises all of them by admitting “I was…darker after you died, and Tim, while trying to help me, may have gotten the impression that he needed to be…more mature to fill the role.” And he looks at Tim and apologizes.
He doesn’t tell them anything else, not abt the brutal training before Steph and Cass that would leave Tim nearly unconscious by the end of each session, or the walking back every night to an empty manor or the cruel words that were sneered and snarled to him, or the insane amount of work put into him that never left him any time to be a kid or sleep and barely any time to eat. But… he apologized.
“Dramatic much B” Jason grumbles, none of the rest of them know the whole truth, but Tim rather they’d not bc Bruce is genuinely better now and is more mentally stable than he was when Tim was Robin.
No one brings it up again, but two months later Jason names a new Gargoyle “Shakespeare” and Tim looks at him oddly and Jason scoffed and was like “what not philosophy enough for you, Replacement?” And Tim just grins and calls him basic, as he names the one next to it Uripadies
Wow…that got away from me… I could make a fanfic out of this… anyway yeah

Batfam head canon
I am convinced the men in the family aggressively steal clothes from each other. I'm talking with malice and aforethought. They dont even have to, but they can and that's the point. Tim's super plush oversized hoodie? He left it in the den and now Jason pointedly wears it to casual family functions. Dick still hasn't realized it was Bruce who stole the bathrobe that Alfred got him for Christmas. They all have their eyes on Jason's brown leather jacket and he knows it and it sometimes keeps him up at night.

Currently looking into which of the batkids canonically took the name Wayne (just Tim and Damian) and theres some comments on what ppl think Jason should've made his surname and this popped up in my head
Dick: so what's it gonna be? You staying a Todd or becoming a Wayne?
Jason: actually ive decided on a completely separate name
Dick: oh really
Jason: im gonna name myself after one of my favorite heroes
Bruce, leaning in expecting "Robin" or "Batson": and who's that
Jason: im gonna be Jason Wonders
Bruce: ...Wonders?
Jason: yeah. After Wonder Woman
Bruce: *in shock at the feel of utter betrayal*
Dick, choking back laughter: i was gonna suggest "Grayson" as a joke and revealing it as a surprise to piss Bruce off but this is so much better!
alternatively
Jason: i dont want to be Todd and i refuse to be a Wayne
Jason: and i sure as hell wont be a Grayson or a Drake
Jason: i guess that means im Jason Pennyworth now
...
Jason: hey Alfred check out my new drivers license
Alfred, trying not to cry: you've chosen well Master Jason

Wayne doll house: demon children.
Idea: each of the batkids is theorised to have a different origin.
Thing is, there's so many of them. The oldest is actually the youngest in body. It seems to be able to share memories with those who follow. It changes design right before a new bat appears.
The hero in the town over is definitely one of them, but what's it doing over there?? Asking just gets non-answers.
What happened to the ones that the Joker tried to destroy? One - the oldest and smallest - came back, but different, whereas the other - the purple and orange one - came back for a while and then vanished again for good.
None of them seem to age??
The first, smallest, oldest, it seemed to be some sort of circus performer? It gave its acrobatics to the blue one when it arrived, grew clever and defensive. It gave that to the skull headed red one, focused on technology and detective work after the Incident. Then again, and again, and one time even the bat changed along with it, but though the bat returned to normal the little Robin didn't, and now it's just as stabby and creative as it is small and creepy.
It's a good sort of creepy now, after over a decade of beating up bad guys and comforting victims, Gotham has gotten used to it, but outsiders don't much like it.
The justice league have a different opinion.
They know, or at least can observe, that the... Souls? Brains? Programs? Switch around, that it's not memories but persons that bring the new bats to life.
They just don't know where batman gets them. The new one, especially, is very circumspect.
For all this talk of the blood son, all the bats calling it demon child with varying levels of fondness, the way batman doesn't deny the claims...
Thing is the bat doesn't have blood. Everyone's well aware of this by now. Whatever sulpheric black tar he and the bats leak probably-certainly isn't blood, or at least... Not anything with dna.
So... What blood?? If not the bat's, why does it tie the newest mind of Robin to him?
Captain marvel is the first to think of an idea.
A blood child of a demon for a blood ritual for a demon.
Constantine and Zatanna second the notion - it's perfectly possible. Reasonable, even. The bat admitted himself he had no way to procreate the way humans did, nor any interest in doing so. Wanting a legacy was perfectly normal.
Except he already had, what, seven, eight, nine kids? He loved all of them, it was clear, and he'd always seemed happy with them. He'd even sighed over how many he had, had rebuffed the teasing about getting more. The new Robin mind had been a surprise to everyone, and the old one in a new body had been a little salty about it.
So the new theory was that batman hadn't decided to get a new Robin. Maybe the old mind had been ejected unwillingly! It had happened at roughly the same time batman had gotten a new personality - maybe the incidents were related?
But if batman hadn't done the ritual... Who had?
Who would do something like that???
Cultists. Cultists would do something like that. But giving the bat a son unwillingly seemed... A very odd goal, even for that type.
So... Had they messed up? Had they tried to summon the bat with a blood sacrifice ritual, and summoned a demon instead? Had it partially worked? Was the bat susceptible to demon summonings?? Did the summoning damage his own mind/consciousness/soul in some way, and that led to the creation of the new demon child while the bat changed until he'd healed????
How kind of batman to take it in!
Tldr; the league thinks Robin V is a demon born/created through a failed summoning ritual involving blood sacrifice that made batman like puns until he healed. The truth is the canon events of Damian arriving at the manor only for b to get tossed into the time stream, becoming the Robin to nightwing-batman while Tim, who is much less annoyed about it than canon, focuses on getting him back. Lmao.

More Damian Wayne headcanon
Because I can and this time is more about future(?) and batkids siblings and I'll also talk about some canon points, then please respect
Damian is not a Bruce clone, then he won't become a bodybuilder like his father when he grow up, but he will be more like Ra's and Talia side, something tall and elegant (and long hair like his grandfather)
Damian sees heritage as something very important, this is more on the cultural side than really a title, he is of Arab and Chinese descent so it is obvious that the issue of him being Batman's son and the devil's grandson is something important, no as a title but with cultural value and perhaps a curse
Look being Batman or Demon Head (I hate when DC is lazy and do this) is is for him a birthright, a duty as a member of that family and also a curse
I know Americans don't really understand the weight of this, but it's something of extreme cultural importance
So you can imagine what a funny thing it was when Dick stole the chair and now we have a Nightwing!Damian or whatever title the boy has brought for himself
if DC keep written Batman like that, I think Bruce and Damian's relationship will end up becoming "I still respect you, but I want distance" something worn similar to Dick and Bruce's relationship
Speaking of family relationships, Damian gives a lot of value and respect to family, just look at his relationship with his mother and grandfather, even his relationship with his cousin. They will fight to the death one day and the next they will be sitting around eating vegetarian food together
At this point I believe that stabbing a family member to see if they is worthy of staying in the family is an Al Ghul thing, Ra's started it as a big joke and they all continue it out of tradition and because it is also funny, one bonding family activity (Talia just never explained this inside joke to Bruce because she wants to annoy him)
Damian is an altruist and a lowkey suicidal (these two combinations together is what led to his death - he sacrificed himself for Gotham; and you can see it when he choice give his clone a sanctuary and also create a sanctuary for those kids in that tournament) and his family lives in fear of those events repet again
When adult he just don't give a fuck about Justice League, even when he is recognized as a great hero, Damian has no patience for any of them but he can helps if Jon, Kor'i or Connor Hawke ask for help if it's another hero, he'll say no
in the future Damian become the Jason Todd of the Al Ghul family
child and teen Damian talk about the cool older sister he has occasionally, much to the brothers' dismay, Bruce confirms the girl's existence, saying that Damian adopted her as a sister. The batkids meet Maya eventually
Occasionally Damian can also talk about his cool older brother from League but he refuses to elaborate this one
One night, when the batkids were gathered to eat a batburger, Duke asked as a joke how long it would take for Damian to adopt a child and this makes everyone relive unresolved childhood traumas. Duke just sits back and eats fries while enjoying the chaos, as now everyone is making calculations about the odds of this happening or not
when everyone finally calms down, Duke (again by pure menace) asks what kind of child Damian is most capable of adopting, and all the screaming and calculations starts again (Bruce lowkey traumatized everyone)
Tim says he (the kid) will be an assassin, so he (Damian) can save the child like Dick saved him. Dick says he (the kid) will be a little stalker who is charming the big hero. Jason calls them cowards because how sure are they that the child will be a boy and not a girl? And at some point they start debating whether the dead Robin's curse will follow these children
Duke Thomas has a good time that night
and now every member of the family has an emergency kit for the hypothetical child that Damian will adopt
Damian can use magic, but he never brings it up. The brothers suspect that he can - due to their blood heritage with Ra's - so they each (separately) have a contingency plan in case someone reacts badly to the fact that Damian knows how to use magic
Let's me explain: once they are all grown up, they don't want to go back to Damian's early days where a brother distrusts Damian in the house, individually they all understand that Damian is his own person and there is no reason to fight anymore, but they don't trust in the reaction between them (Bruce lowkey made everyone paranoid), so this contingency plan is in case "hey Damian can use magic, but now one of my brothers/Batman is mad at him again in the most nosense way, so I'm going to protect my little brother and not let This stupid member of my family hurts my little brother"
Dick reaction: "Oh this is actually more beautiful than I thought….but have you already talked about this with Bruce? He and Tim might react badly because of Ra's, so if you've already told them, we can leave the country until things calm down. Actually I have a spy friend who can help you, you like pandas, right?"
Jason reaction: "oh shit, oh shit, We have a problem now...I already told them that I'm injured and they will know that you healed me, so I want you to take my plane and go to Kor'i, I can talk to her on the phone, she owes me a favor then she will let you stay on her planet due to Bruce and the replacement's reaction because ...you know Ra's' paranoia"
Tim reaction: "I knew it! but I think now we have a problem, your father still have resentment about your grandfather then...take my keys and go to my house, I'll text Bernard about this don't worry, do you want me to pick up your pets?"
and things go this way (they most fear for Bruce bad reaction than anything else)
when kid Damian had the habit of sleeping with the sound of the Batmobile's engine, all the family members have carried him to bed more than once because of this
One night, when Damian is around 17~19 years old, Steph asks him to paint on her wall in her new apartment, in the end she gives him a ride back home and, to her surprise, Damian fell asleep on the passenger seat in the same way he always did as a child
This news made all the brothers always offer him a ride at night, Dick even bought an blanket exclusively for this (one time the baby brother is always the baby brother)
Some batkid headcanon: Damian || Duke || Cassandra || Stephanie || Tim || Jason || Dick

Do you think (I hope this doesn't sound as if I hate the batkids but im just genuinely curious), if the bat kids (Jason, Tim, Damian, Steph, etc) came earlier, like Robin Dick and Batman when they have still a rather good(?) relationship and before Dick leaving and before canon time of Bruce meeting Jason) met Bruce, will he take them in and/or adopt them?
Tbf, Dami is biological son so Bruce might take him in either way, but what do you think?
No it doesn't sound like that at all! :)
Honestly I don't think it would've mattered if any of the robins had met Dick and Bruce when they had a good relationship. First of all, Bruce only took in Jason because he missed Dick and wanted a Robin. So if Dick was still with Bruce, Bruce would feel no desire or thought to take in anyone. Furthermore, Jason isn't the first troubled talented kid that Bruce has met over the years. Bruce and Dick have been solving cases and helping such kids for years so Bruce taking in Jason during Dick's absence was more of a "right place at the right time" sort of thing.
For similar reasons, that's also why he wouldn't have taken in Tim. Bruce took in Tim under Alfred and Dick's encouraging and also because Tim made a good point about Batman needing a Robin. B was literally killing himself through self-destructive techniques because Jason died and grief does that to people. He lost a robin. If Dick had been the one that died during his Robin years, then Tim might have ended up Robin but it's debatable because he would've been younger than 13 at the time. But if he waited until he was old enough, then Bruce would've killed himself in grief by then. However since Dick is still alive, healthy, and on great terms, Tim wouldn't have entered the picture. Although, if he worked up the nerve to reach out to Dick sooner, Dick would've had a new baby brother a lot earlier.
Stephanie only became Robin because Bruce was trying to manipulate Tim to come back. He knew that Tim would hate him if he endangered his loved ones so by making Stephanie robin, Tim would have to return because he knows the dangers of being Robin. So no Tim, no Stephanie.
Damian. Damian would become Robin and that's canon! THERE'S ACTUALLY A SAME AGE DICK AND DAMIAN STORY!!!!
In this story, Talia suddenly drops off Damian with Bruce and he finds out that his father has another kid-Dick. It's a heart warming story of them getting to know each other with Raven, Gar, and Maxine.

When the tracker doesn't work he gets really worried so he calls Bruce about it. And Bruce is just like, "Whatever, it'll be fine, Dick. He was raised by assassins, he can take care of himself. I need to go."
But Dick is in full Big Brother Mode. So what does he do? He spies on Damian through CCTV cameras and then gets even more worried that Damian might be kidnapped or involved in something dangerous because oh my god there's random people whose identification don't come up with Damian.
So Dick then rushes out of the manor and goes on a road trip, tracking him down. Damian's friends are surprised and creeped out to see a guy and when Damian looks, he is not happy. Damian does not like Dick. But Dick in any universe will always be a responsible older brother.

At this point Dick is fed up.
Is that what Damian wants? Fine.

So they have a bunch of mini-competitions from archery to hacking to parkour to fighting to etc and Damian's getting more and more frustrated that he keeps tying while Dick is in it for a good time. I think Dick's genuinely happy about this because he's viewing it as a bonding experience but everything comes to head when Damian reaches his limit

Teen Titans: Robin Issue #2
Things don't get better but the event progresses because Slade's wife Adeline (to whom he's still married to) is working with an evil organisation that collects metas and non-humans is searching for Gar so they need to do something fast. There are also flashbacks from Damian's side of him being jealous that Bruce trusts Dick so much and how perfect he is which don't help. It makes Damian really furious that Dick doesn't even realize how Bruce trusts him and instead acts like he's best friends with Damian which just serves to tick him off more.
Dick and Damian end up working together, find out about Kori, escape Slade, and all's great in the end. They become the brothers they were always meant to be.

And then it becomes the real formation of the teen titans. Dick and Damian - brothers for life.
I wish there was an entire series on this! I want to see the continuation.
Putting aside the logistics of whether they would meet or not, if Dick had met any of the robins at any age, he would've adored the heck out of them. I think they all would've ended up in Damian's position but they would definitely warm up to him by the end because it's impossible not to love Dick, especially if he loves you.
There's also a canon comic moment where Robin! Tim meets Robin! Dick, and they get along far better than Damian and Dick here but still the same emotions run in the scenes.

Teen Titans: Robin Issue #2
They feel like the need to live up to Dick but Dick doesn't feel that they have anything to prove because he just genuinely likes them for who they are. This feeling is a source of friction on the Robins' side, but it's also important they have this because you can't really know someone if you don't overcome your differences. The fact that they have to learn about each other brings out both of their greatest strengths.
Like in the Robin comic, Tim suspects something is off and Dick goes along with it. Tim's right and in the end they catch the bad guy and figure out the escape plan.

Overall, I'd say that Bruce wouldn't take any of the Robin in during Dick's younger days. But if he did, Dick and the Robins would become the best of brothers.
Oh but you know what'd be exciting? Dick and Stephanie's same age Robin au! Tim, Damian, and Jason's would all be sort of the same. They would struggle with Dick's standing but love him possessively in the end. But I have no idea how Stephanie and Dick would go. Of course they would love each other but same age brother and sister?! I WANT THAT SO BAD!!! Their dynamic would be crazy!! The amount of grey hairs Bruce would have? The ultimate chaos duo, they'd feed into each others' energies! Gotham would be a goner.

Tim Drake is so short it’s unrealistic: an explanation
In every single comic page featuring more than one adult, Tim is drawn exceptionally short (well Damian too but he’s still a pubescent boy) for mainly composition reasons, I think. You can’t really create a great standing composition with five heads at the same level so they exaggerate the difference. What does this leaves us with? A Tim in his late teens, at a whopping 5 foot and 6 inches of height (source: fandom wiki). This means he must be a certified short guy. Except, he kinda isn’t?
When he is shown with his peers he’s closer to the average height, like in YJ. So why do I think his stats are like this in fandom wiki or he’s drawn like that? I think editors and artists have never seen a teenage boy in their life and they think the younger the age the shorter the person is, linearly. My point is also supported by the fact that he doesn’t have adult proportions of a short person but an average person’s proportions, just shrunk down.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We are the same height for reference. The beginning of high school is the time for men to have their growth sprout and they all end up as their forever height by junior/senior. I’d argue that I’m not simply short-phobic and that artists seem to just ignore this phenomenon. Oh and his weight seems unrealistic considering his height-weight ratio and muscle mass so the second picture is possible to happen. You don’t need to be Kon-el to effortlessly pick that boy up.
So how tall do I think he realistically be? Closer to 6 foot. Because I think we’re ignoring the second greatest factor.
Wealth! He was raised rich, he was well fed during his developmental ages. Even if he had short height genes, his entire lifestyle would make him proportionally taller. There is VISIBLE difference in average heights in wealthy versus poor neighborhoods. Students notice that private school kids tend to be taller. Students (in my country) get weirded out once they realize historical figures that lived in hard times were way shorter than them. Unless he was an extreme case of picky eating, I’d say let’s add at least a few inches. His recreational activities also consisted of rich people stuff. The training he got, the amount of time he spent inside (probably playing games on powerful PC’s, not doing manual labor, not having a neighborhood friend group to run around with and stuff) not burning calories all played a role in the body he ended up with at adulthood. Yeah, he kind of did vigilante stuff since the age of 9, but at the end of the night it was Wayne Manor that he returned to.
BONUS: I think all batkids would have a different height when accounted for environmental factors, I just drew the four Robins to demonstrate
Tumblr media
Jason: the wealth point that I defended earlier would work the opposite way for him, so why did i draw him the tallest? ✨growth juices✨ in the Lazarus Pit. I’m also not completely erasing their canon heights and body builds, and dude’s a hunk.
Dick: gymnastics makes you shorter. I thought this was a coincidence but apparently it’s real, especially in women’s gymnastics it’s very noticeable. He was trained since a very young age and did not stop practicing after he left the circus for apparent reasons.
Damian, at 14-15: He would hit his growth sprout a few months maybe a year later than his peers. Why? He’s Arab and even though I did no research on this, I think my experience as a Middle Eastern would account for a decent observation. But when he hits it, he would get noticeably taller EACH WEEK. I only attributed him a numbered height so I could show that he was close in height to his brothers. (Not related to height, but at his age he would have a massive nose with a sharp nose bridge, as it grows first, I remember many of my classmates were very self conscious about their noses in middle school)

Why do you ship damian and Jon? especially still as they are now in canon, I’m genuinely just asking…
This is a loaded question.
Firstly, my introduction to younger heroes was through Super Sons and I didn’t immediately ship them until I entered the fandom and had all their content clash together consistently in my head and it slowly made me realize the potential of the characters and what I was reading.
I’m more of a Damian Wayne enjoyer than anything in the batfam, he’s my favorite Batkid, then its Jason and Cass. I really enjoy his character and I also really relished in the potential Jon had with Damian and how he was a genuine friend.
I really do think that if done right then Damian and Jon being in some sort of relationship would not only be excellent representation but also, could fix a lot of troubling aspects of their character. Like their mantles and how their characters function in canon. Their relationship could be catalyst for them seeking a new mantle.
It’s more so built off of the mutual friendship they have for each other and how much they care about the other person.
A lot of people expect me to consider older Jon because he’s canon but no, I don’t like Jon’s age up for many, many reasons so I choose to ignore it.
Whoever chooses to get mad at me for it are hypocrites because you cannot honestly tell me there aren’t stuff about your favorite character that you don’t choose to ignore… every character in dc has done something problematic and if you didn’t ignore something, they wouldn’t be enjoyable.
People only want me to take in older Jon because they either hate the ship or weirdly enjoy Jon’s pseudo-relationship and feel threatened over Damijon even though it’s an entire fanon ship and can’t do anything to harm canon in the first place. You guys have the canon ship, why do you have to feel so threatened?
On Damian’s part, there’s flatline but I don’t personally feel threatened by his relationship/romance with her… she’s a fine love interest and I really enjoy her allegories of death, it’s interesting to think about and how that correlates with Damian’s grief with Alfred. There’s no reason for me to get so up and arms about Damian’s canon romances… it’s fandom… I think I would even like them a lot at some point when Nika gets some more content in the future. I also fear for her because she’s so new and has potential to become a character we grow to hate once other writers get their hands on her… (I have more thoughts on this but that’s all for now)
Jay… no… I’m sorry, there’s no appeal with him and Jon and with how it came about… I don’t find it likable.
Like I don’t actually want Damijon to be canon ever, really, it’d be a nightmare in the longrun with how these writers handle queer relationships.
And yes, people are always like “Damian and Jon had an age gap even before the age up-“ Dude, their ages were infamously inconsistent in comics that weren’t Super Sons, sometimes they had a 1-2 year age gap if you put them on a certain timeline in canon. Super Sons is what established the age gap, and even after Jon was aged up, till Taylor took it, they still had an inconsistent age gap. Jon’s age was inconsistent and Damian was also aged up but people tend to forget that.
Jon and Damian don’t have canon birthdays and didn’t know each other for that long before the age up. The age gap is probably much smaller. Even Taylor sometimes refers to it as “2-3 years” but he’s never consistent on any basis so…
I simply just think they’re 1-2 years apart in my head, or sometimes 3 as well. But I also, don’t consider them being in a healthy romantic relationship unless they are adults. No one should consider Jon and Damian actually being able to hold a relationship while they are young, it wouldn’t work. Any shipping I do while they are younger, is because that's where they peaked and it’ll be entirely innocent.
If they were to be in a relationship as they’re older, I seriously do think they can be incredibly happy together. I feel they are somewhat the perfect person for the other.
Thanks for the ask.

What kinds of babies would the batkids be if Bruce adopted them from the start?
I did another ask here a while ago talking about what if the batfam were adopted as babies, which I’m using as a frame of reference. While it’s not totally accurate to their canon age differences, I kinda like how it worked out.
Dick is mobile from the get-go. He crawls as soon as Bruce puts him down, tries to climb out of his crib, and is the reason the high chair has a seatbelt. Things only get worse when he learns to grab and stack things. Bruce walks in on him climbing a teetering tower of toys to reach the cereal box, and he just barely catches him before it topples over. Everyone thinks Jason is the reason for the child leash, but it’s actually Dick after he got lost at the museum. He’s the most outwardly affectionate of all the children, but his Terrible Twos are also the worst when he uses his limited vocabulary to argue with Bruce at every step. He’s also jealous when he’s no longer an only child and makes a big fuss at first before accepting it.
Although Barbara has her own parents, the Waynes and the Gordons are very familiar with each other, both through Bruce and the Commissioner’s friendship and babysitting each other’s kids. Dick is more active, but Barbara learns to speak first and can even read the alphabet by the time they’re in daycare. Her parents try to limit screen time at home, but at the Manor, she learns to ask Alexa to play Little Einstein. Dick is also personally offended when he offers her his favorite candy and she goes blegh.
Cass comes 3 years later, and she’s the baby you can’t let out of sight unless you feel like searching the whole house. She’ll hide anywhere, from under the bed to the trunk of the car. Selina suggests a cat bell, but Cass quickly learns to take it off. At first they think it’s because she’s shy, but it turns out she just prefers to watch people from a distance. Playing the Barbie ballerina music draws her out, though, because she loves twirling around. Cass learns sign language from her aunts Harley and Ivy first, and she makes up some of her own gestures to signal what she wants. Her hair was longer until Dick got peanut butter in it and they all agreed it’s easier to keep it short.
Harper and Cullen are a year apart from each other, with Cullen being Cass’s age. They’re adopted at the same time, though, because it took a while for Bruce to prove that their bio father isn’t fit to be a parent. As a toddler, Harper is pretty independent, including dressing herself and using the bathroom. She likes to take things apart, so Bruce keeps expensive devices out of her reach—not that it works for long (see: Dick). She’s the most vocal baby and the first to learn “bad words” like poo-poo head. She’s the messiest though, often leaving things out and getting upset when people put her things away because she needs them.
Cullen, on the other hand, is more shy from their previous household and takes some time to warm up to people. Bruce encourages him to ask for what he wants and always reassures him that there’s plenty to go around. The first person he grows close to is Cass, who takes him under her wing in a protective way. Together, they like to play pretend as mythical creatures or flip through picture books together despite not knowing how to read. He has a hard time falling asleep, so Bruce reads him stories until he does. On stormy nights, he goes to either Harper or Dick and will climb into their beds without warning. The first time that happened, Dick thought it was the monster from his closet and screamed so loud he woke everyone else up. Once Cullen learns how to use the remote, getting him away from the TV is a daily struggle.
Jason is a year younger than Cass, and he’s a bit of a coin flip. Most days, he’s perfectly well-behaved and will quietly play by himself, especially with the pop-up books. Other days, he’ll throw the worst tantrums and break whatever he gets his hands on. He fights with Dick the most because at the time, he’s the youngest and can get away with more. Eventually, things even out a little and he fits perfectly into the fun-and-mischievous role, earning the affectionate title of Papa’s Little Nightmare, which he wears like a badge of pride whenever he licks people’s forks or sticks his finger up Bruce’s nose. He also likes to watch Alfred cook and his birthmark is his white streak.
A full five years later is Tim, a quiet but observant baby who can learn fast by watching others. He picks up now to climb the banister from Dick, hide in tight spaces from Cass, how to use a hammer from Harper, what shows to watch from Cullen, and how to argue from Jason. He and Jason don’t get along at first because Jason felt like he was being replaced, but they eventually learn to coexist. Tim’s first toy to himself is a plastic camera that shows pictures of cartoon characters. He’s the kid that asks tons of questions, like why Bruce and Selina lock themselves in the bedroom. He also likes to explore and believes any unfamiliar creature is an alien.
I know canonically Steph and Duke are a few years apart, but as babies I headcanon them as “twins” born on the same day to different parents and are two years younger than Tim because it’s cute and chaotic. Sometimes they share things, like their bedroom and toys. Other times, they get double, like two birthday cakes. At least once a week, they’ll try and confuse people by swapping clothes. Duke makes up stories and Steph scribbles out the scenes—sometimes she even does it on paper. If the house isn’t a mess before, then it definitely is with them when Bruce finds fruit gummies in the couch and shoes in the microwave. Instead of blankies and stuffed animals, Steph falls asleep clutching a box of toaster waffles and Duke with a bear-shaped honey bottle. Duke tells anti-jokes that he finds hilarious (“Knock knock” “Who’s there?” “Me!”) while Steph flat-out roasts people (“Dickie smells like icky”). They have concerts where Steph scream-sings while Duke bangs pots and pans. Steph prefers to be on Bruce’s shoulders while Duke clings to his leg. There’s a big Get Along shirt for when the siblings fight, but Steph and Duke just wear it for funsies. Because Tim sometimes gets overlooked, they follow him around like baby ducklings and think he’s the coolest sibling.
Carrie, who’s two years after Steph and Duke, is the most imaginative baby and will loop people in as her side characters. Usually her roleplays involve being wilderness adventurers, after she watched Dora The Explorer. She likes to run around, often wearing a towel cape, and isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty or play with things like bugs. She’ll only do baths if she can bring her snorkel and her many pool toys. In the car, no one wants to sit in front of her because she’s a seat-kicker. She’s easily wired even with just a little bit of sugar, so whenever another kid mad at Bruce, they’ll give her a whole bag of candy and set her loose.
Damian is the last one and is three years younger than Carrie. He’s the smallest baby because he was born preterm, and Bruce is also worried because he rarely cries. But when he does, he won’t stop until he wears himself out. Carrie is the most protective of him and Tim thinks he’s secretly an alien (after seeing him hooked to machines in the hospital). Whenever Talia visits, he’ll systematically show her his toys, including his favorite stuffed cow. Besides Mama and Dada, his first words are animal sounds. He also likes art and will poke his head in whenever he sees his siblings drawing. If he senses someone having a bad day, he’ll sit outside their door and wait for them to come out.

Could you tell me about BruHarvey? Like, I'm really intrigued and interested, but I have no knowledge or framework. What's the dynamic like? The general headcanons/fanon/etc? I'm like a kid sitting at your feet hoping to hear a story lol. I wanna see/hear a fifty slide powerpoint lol. Basically, could you gush about it and let me absorb through osmosis? Hahah
OH MANNNNNNN OKAY. okay. So canon, -- They're college friends; Childhood, if you wanna split hairs. In many reiterations Harvey's considered Bruce's best friend, dearest friend.
I would define their canon dynamic as simply a love left to rot. A spiral of uncertainty and vicious, sharp mourning for the versions of themselves and eachother They're convinced the other can't love. And I love that as fanon as well.
Harvey is CRIMINALLY underrated and underused as both antagonist and familial character for Bruce.
I'd go as far as to say he plays a greater and more crucial role in DC than Joker, because he's actually meant to represent both sides of justice, and how incredibly well that compliments Bruce
NOW. ON MY TROPES FOR THEM? OH BOY.
Childhood friends to lovers (optional) to enemies to lovers. High school sweethearts if you will
Sometimes divorced, but not heterosexual divorced. Gay divorced. Fun divorced
That married couple who's absolutely, clinically obsessed with eachother
I wish this was explored more, but Harvey had an abusive father and I'm so convinced the waynes took him in.
I'm also convinced Martha, Thomas, and Alfred shipped them hard af and had bets on their wedding (Alfred won, but they'll never know)
It doesn't matter if Bruce burns water. Harvey's gonna finish anything he puts in front of him because he's a simp like that
LOOK. Self indulgent and shameless about it, -- Harvey's the most protective husband to walk on earth. If " scary dog/ boyfriend privileges" was a person. He doesn't care that Bruce can snap someone's neck without killing them.
Gomez Addams if he was on Peaky Blinders
Bruce is so down bad for this man. Like so incredibly disgustingly down bad. He'd crawl on Harvey's lap like a cat and rub his head under his chin.
SO MUCH PHYSICAL AFFECTION .THEYRE SO GROSS (I love them so much they're like my parents I will die in their name)
THE PET NAMES. OH THE PETNAMES. Bruce calling Harvey " honey" is enough to send that beast of a man on his KNEES. Harvey heavily calls Bruce " baby" and " princess" and " sweet thing" cause he's hot like that
Bruce calls Harvey " Mr. Dent" when he's mad
AS TWO FACE AND BATMAN. the GCPD learned the hard way that bringing the Bat to interrogate Two Face is a waste of time. They're in that room for 4 hours and all you can hear is soft grunting and gentle moans and raspy " Oh, baby-" " harv-" and Batman giggling
Same goes for Arkham visits!!
Harvey has a Temper on him and Bruce isn't phased at all because 90% it's justified and the other times? Really entertaining. No " this isn't you" bs here. He finds it hot actually
Harvey legally adopted all of the batkids and just never told Bruce abt it
EMBARRASSING SAPPY PARENTS THAT MAKE THEIR KIDS ASHAMED OF LIVING IN THE SAME CITY WITH THEM

Alfred Pennyworth is a Bystander
Feel free to present new evidence to me (politely) from DC media if I get stuff wrong, as I have limited information. All I ask is an open mind.
Considering how much writing there is confronting Bruce’s abuse of his many children, I am disappointed but not surprised to see an extreme lack of responsibility assigned to Alfred. Alfred’s emotional distance due to his employment and British culture did Bruce a disservice and likely contributed to his emotional ignorance. Yes, he’s very cool-headed, but that’s not always what a child needs. I have seen many comics in which this emotional distance is tempered with warmth but certainly not all. If Bruce (& Jason & Damian) is as abusive as he is in canon, has met little to no resistance, and few to none of the batkids have been parented more by Alfred in response then Alfred has failed in his duty as an adoptive grandfather, parent, caregiver, and responsible adult. Even if he was lacking the title of grand/parent, he has a responsibility as an adult to ensure the relative health, safety, & happiness of the children he cares for. I know people idolize him. He’s legendary, immortal (jokingly or not), badass, sassy, and a jack of all trades. I know he’s amazing. I also know he’s human and every human has flaws. Failure is also not a state of being. Failure is an event or response, what matters is how you react to it. I believe Alfred can learn to intervene in his foster son’s abuse and protect the children in his care.

Thicker than Water
Summary:
When he had headed out for the day, he hadn't expected the day to turn out like it had. Jason had just wanted to find warm shelter that would get them through the harsh Gotham winter. Was that too much to ask?
How was he supposed to know that stealing Batman's tires would end with him being taken to the Batcave?
OR
Jason gets batnapped while looking for shelter for the winter.

Your headcanon of Tim having one sided beef with Jason while Jason doesn’t know he exist is iconic, but let’s not forgot your other one of the batkids adopting Ras Al Ghul as their grandpa

Note
give me all the tim drake headcanons PLEASE
I knew my list of headcannons would come in handy some day!! :)
Comfort king, he literally has more pillow than bed, squishmallows are the key to his heart. He has so many blankets, fluffy, soft and of course weighted because yk anxious boi.
He can also sleep anywhere, whether it’s an armchair, someone’s lap, at his desk/batcomputer. Anywhere. Hell, he canonically fell asleep on a roller coaster!
Loves K-pop. Loves the Korean culture, language etc etc
Follows 5 minute crafts religiously. Smudge on the wall? Put toothpaste on it! Phone fell on his face? Glue it to your hand!! Problem solved. Alfred considers consulting a therapist.
Loves sushi, it’s practically his favourite food.
Doesn’t have a good food pallet tho. Jason once walked in the pantry and found Tim eating a bread sandwich (three slices of bread stacked) Jason has still not recovered from that.
Surprisingly has a good sense of humour. (After hours of Meme searching) he can always come up with a ‘that reminds me of a joke’ in any scenario. Dick and Duke laugh at every one of them, the rest sigh and roll their eyes at this point. He also tends to use sarcasm.
Tech genius? Boring. How about won the Sims game. How do you even win that game? Nobody knows. But Tim was emailed by the ceo of the game, telling him he won and was offered a spot in games designs. He declined :/ bc WE has more benefits.
Hacked and removed himself from the FBIs wanted list
Collected sticks when he was younger and gave one to people he loves. (as mentioned in my answer to previous Ask about BatKid collections)
Memorised every word to every song on High School Musical
Once travelled to Scotland for a special perfume that only delivers to Scotland. He came back the next morning and no one noticed.
Once had a job as a professional photographer and was really good at it. Accidentally photographed the wrong person who was head of a criminal organisation. He was fired for exposing the corruption bc ✨Gotham✨. He took them down later that night as Red Robin. Now peruses photography as a hobby.
Tried to make popcorn in the oven because what? Ovens are like microwaves that don’t spin right? Almost burned the manor down and has a lifetime ban from cooking. Though you could argue making popcorn is not cooking
Is lactose intolerant
Drinks strawberry milk anyway (it’s his favourite)
Once choked on a cranberry so is now banned from eating cranberries. Alfred will cut the cranberries in half if Tim is so desperate to have some.
Face-planted in front of Wayne Enterprise CEO & ambassadors on his way to his first meeting
When he’s happy and having a good day he’ll smile constantly. Not a casual hey how you doin kind of smile, but a I’m glad I’m here with you kind of smile. (Young Justice members have seen this the most and it puts them all in a good mood)
He has a huge heart and cares so much about the well-being of others probably more than he cares about himself. He may not physically show it how Dick does, but he’ll send his family memes or pictures of baby animals or of their special interests when he feels something is off or that they are upset. They always appreciate it.

7, 10, and 26!
7 and 10. Already answered!
26. What would you describe as OOC?
Oh man, this is a big question and it differs for every character. It's particularly tricky in DC fandom (or Marvel), because on the one hand, canon depictions of the characters differ so widely and there's so much canon to get your head around, but on the other hand, a lot of people don't even bother to try and even sometimes have active contempt for the canon. And then on top of that, everyone's entitled to their own opinion.
I would say what bothers me much more than how characters' personalities are depicted is how their relationships are depicted, at the very basic level of like...who is friends with whom in canon. You know, stuff that isn't a matter of opinion. A few examples I've seen:
Roy being afraid of or intimidated by Bruce (he's not, he's called him a shitty father to his face and it was awesome)
Just generally everyone being in awe of the Bats all the time
Hal doesn't like Ollie (they are in fact canonically best friends)
Truly baffling dynamics where, like, Jason knows Kyle better than Roy does (Roy is close friends with both, Jason and Kyle have met literally once and didn't get along), or Roy doesn't know Dick, or something
The Batkids calling Clark "Uncle Clark" (they don't)
I'm sure there's more that I'm not thinking of now but these are the ones that came to mind! And to be clear, I don't have a problem with someone knowing the canon and deciding to do something different for fic. It's the unintentional inaccurate relationships that rub me the wrong way.
