Katrina's large frame sat in the slightly-too-small seat in the second grav deck of the Leap of Faith. Her Nighthawk XXII armor scraped obnoxiously at the plasteel of the deck-mounted chair, prompting a groan of annoyance. The sound grated on her ears.
Glancing down towards the glass clasped in her armored hand, she turned it thoughtfully. It felt like a child's cup in her grasp, Elemental bred as she as. Setting it as gently on the table as she could, the Star Colonel turned her attention towards what she had in her other hand - a bottle of cheap alcohol.
They said never to drop with anything in your system, but Katrina had never had much of an issue with a single drink beforehand. Her modified (PAL) neurohelmet helped filter out any strange interference from the drink. Beyond that, her nerves were fried and she needed to take the edge off.
The woman carefully grasped the cap between index and thumb, grimacing at the scrape of the metal cap against the glass of the bottle as she cracked the seal open. Now loosened, she held the bottle up and flicked the cap. It came off the bottle and flew out into the hallway outside of the gravity deck.
"To one hell of a drop," the Star Colonel mumbled to herself as she tipped out far too weak alcohol into a far too small glass.

Hey everyone!
Now that we’re gathering up for the operation, I’d like to re-open my services for a limited number of custom jobs! If you’ve got a mech and you’d like that mech to change, I can see what I can do!
Given the facilities on board a jump ship and the actual timeline of our transit, I can handle up to a Class D refit.
This means:
If I’m swapping in a weapon it’s better that it goes in the same spot I pull one out—takes me twice as long if I have to repatch the armor around it
I can swap heat sinks! At least the type…I do hope you have them on you, though, all I brought was a couple of spare parts for myself
I can’t rebuild your chassis from scratch. This means no swapping to Endo-steel, no TSM if you didn’t pack it, and (unfortunately!) no CASE.
Look, I can swap your armor type but that’s a full armor strip and rebuild and that’s a lot of work and most importantly a lot of man-hours. I mean I can try but I don’t guarantee anything!
This will all go faster and I might be able to work multiple jobs at once if anyone has support staff they’re willing to direct to me.
Here’s hoping we all get to drink to this when it’s done! And remember to bring CASE

Opinions on this Mech? (Not battletech, but I'd love to get the vibes from a battletech character)
I can only identify the claws as weapons. Are the objects on the rear missile launchers, or jump jets? What is the weight class of this Mech?
It certainly seems very armored, at least. The pose would suggest a speedier unit.
From where did it originate? I cannot identify the insignia on the shoulder.

Melissa, in her SLDF dress uniform, walks into the bar of the Unity City Grande, alongside Karrie DeLacey ( @karriethemechtech ). The Steiner siblings notice an immediate commotion, as every SLDF soldier in the bar stands instantly to attention, until Melissa salutes the officer nearest her, and says, "at ease." Melissa shakes her head in amusement as the two newcomers walk over to Theodora and Dieter at the bar. "We are here," Melissa says to the two Steiners... or possibly, former Steiners.
As Melissa draws near, Theodora stand, offering a handshake. She's wearing her LCAF uniform, but with any patches and insignias removed. Without it all, the uniform looks empty. Nothing more than a cobalt tunic and white pants, with empty rank epaulettes on the shoulders.
"Greetings, Melissa. It's good to see you."
Dieter, however, merely nods, eyes fixed on Melissa's new rank. He's obviously distressed, but he's trying to hide it. After a moment, he snaps out of it, looking to Karrie.
"And you'll be Ms. DeLacey, I suppose?"

(Since our Star Colonel is busy, I thought we could for lack of better terms, kill some time and get to know folks who will soon be risking life and limb fighting zealots. Open to anyone who wants to get to know some of my people before the big drop)
Clustered around the docking berth to one of Barghest Company’s two dropships, but not in the way of the stream of crew, techs, and other personnel, Lt . Victoria Everheart watched the munitions and supply carts go by to be loaded not only into the Leopard Class dropship “Dando”, but also into her mech, an Axman dubbed “Queen of Hearts”. The 6 foot muscled Mechwarrior wouldn’t normally have stood out, we’re it not for the cat ears, tail and eyes she possessed, and tattoos on prominent display garbed as she was in tank top and compact pants and boots.
Around her sat or stood the two other members of her lance, as well as possibly the largest black German Shepard ever seen in the inner sphere.
Major Vance Strider, a gaunt, bald man sits on a crate beside her, seemingly mumbling or speaking at himself with closed eyes, in meditation or contemplation.
“This is gonna be one hell of a drop, huh?” Said Major Anya Corwin, a buxom woman on the shorter side with curly red hair. As if in response, the large dog she is petting and giving skritches to chuffs a bit.
Victoria snorts. “Thanks for the input, Loki.” She stretches, rolling well sculpted shoulders. “But yeah, looks that way…can’t say I’ve seen this many people in one place since well, the last war.”
“Hope it all goes well…or as well as can be expected…” Anya chips in.
“Yeah, same.” Victoria agrees.
As if in agreement once again, the dog Loki huffs again.

Play a big game of Classic Battletech today, brought a big list of random Marik nonsense. Purple bird strong

It's the Banshee's world, the rest of us are just living in it.

This fuckin thing drew a line across the field and just marched straight toward the enemy fire base, ripping of AC shots the entire way. Amazing investment of bv.
I also got to use the Anvil for the first time and that thing's another fuckin beat stick.

‘Mech post number 10! This one is a silly little guy, my friend @mortallyminiaturewerewolf, brought in a Crockett/Katana for me, the most fanatically loyal Kuritan in our area. We were having a game in our FLGS when she presented me with it and I wanted to paint it straight away. So, after a lot of joking around I bought paints and painted it as we played and thus was born the Daffy mech.

He was painted in just one afternoon so while he isn’t the prettiest he is my baby boy and I love him.

Hey all, we got any idea what the Blakie Aerospace presence is like? I'm drawing up SOPs for the Helios engagement, and I'm not finding a report on Blakie airpower.

I’ve been reading through all the TROs I can in prep for the landing action on Helios. I’ll be later with the General’s SLDF cadre, but for now I have warnings for the landing force:
The WoB are fond of three things: PPCs, Plasma, and C3i. If you’re not prepared when they bring them out, they’re gonna eat you alive.
PPCs: mind that they may have snub-noses PPCs shoved in places you don’t expect. Those mechs will want to be close to you! Also be careful of their fondness for IS Heavy PPCs. While they don’t have the range of a cERPPC they maintain every bit as much headchopping power.
Plasma: Plasma rifles would be scary if they were only ammo-fed PPCs, but unfortunately they’re worse. Plasma rifles have the nasty side effect of causing heat bleed into the target’s systems—basically, if anything on your mech is prone to overheating expect it to be twice as bad. My suggestion: remember that gauss runs cool and punching mechs generates no heat at all. Other than that be choosier with your shot placement if you see any of these around.
C3i: This right here is probably the killer they have. Hell, I’d be afraid of mechs throwing rocks with a C3i net. Unlike a traditional C3 net, there’s no centralized node, so ECM’s only gonna have limited effect. Every level ii of mechs will probably be linked! If they get close to you and can send close-in data to someone up on the hill with a longer ranged weapon, expect lights out.
Tl;Dr: WoBbies bring equipment that’s designed to make you worse at your job and less sure of how to do it. Keep your eyes on the prize and don’t forget to smile! Might be the biggest battle of your lives.
@lt-chari @the-tired-merc @starcolonelkatrinamoon @wolf-among-mechs @harwood-pmc-official @msn-04iinightingale @the-clawtake @snords-sword Stay safe gang. We’ll be there soon.
